My mom told me she wanted some food from this restaurant, because her priest friends frequent it. We drove up around 530pm on a Friday afternoon and it was decently busy. They have a fairly robust menu covering tacos, papusas, mixed plates, soups, and seafood, to name a few. We ended up deciding to get an array of items to try. We ordered: un pastelito de pollo; yuca frita; tacos de pescado; papusas de jalapeño and queso; and papusas de frijoles and queso. We ordered for take out and it took about 30 minutes for the order. The negatives are that: $10 dollar minimum credit card order (never a fan of this anywhere); the pastelito de pollo was a bit dry; the tortillas for the taco were a bit eh. The positives are that: $20 bucks was about 3 meals worth of food; the tacos were great, although the tortillas weren't; the papusas were top notch; service was friendly; lots of parking; and the yuca frita was great. There is a little sauce that comes with the yuca that is real good, but they only gave me a little. I don't know what it is called, but it is whiteish-green. All in all, I felt this was around a 4-4.5, but it is locally owned, and has more positives than negatives so I will give the bump. First off this is my first time eating at this place and I can assure you that you should go elsewhere. To start off we ordered the sopa de res and ordered a side of yuca for carry out. When we got home we were stunned by how undercooked the meat was. The meat of the soup was red and when we called to get a refund they had the audacity to say that the meat was completely cooked and that the reasoning to why it was red is due to the seasoning. As you can see in the picture the meat is obviously not cooked and this is a safety hazard for them to deny. Someone can get food poisoning and they wouldn't even care. Posting as an awareness because this was a horrible experience to deal with and will never go back to eat there. read more

If I can give this place a 0 star I would. This place is UNBELIEVABLY DISRESPECTFUL! I have been going here for a while and I would hear the waitress force people to tip them. First off, NOBODY IS OBLIGATED TO TIP YOU. There's a guy who I believe is a regular customer but the way they treat him is just disgusting. Grown a** females in here who don't have manners or respect. Today I literally saw one of them just literally slam a cup of milk to the customer (the one I believe is a regular) DONT GO HERE. Ordered take out tacos, they were incredible! Got the pollo (chicken) and the lengua (beef tongue). The pollo was blackened and more flavorful than most chicken and not completely dry, and the lengua was tender instead of tough. Also recommend getting the mild crema they have for the pollo a la brasa- I know it's not traditional for tacos but it's so good here, they add something extra that gives it a lighter, tartness that few places have. Its also a nice balance for the hot sauce which has a lot of kick but is very flavorful. I'll be coming back for sure! I've been here a few months ago w my bf who is able to speak Spanish. I noticed that most of the staff do not speak English. For someone who doesn't speak Spanish (& showed up w/out the Spanish speaking bf ) i was VERY nervous!! NOT to mention the time I visited (12:45pm) was VERY busy. My husband and I went to Pollo Dorado about a week ago and I can with confidence that Pollo Dorado has the best pupusas! Specially the cheesy Pupusas de queso. The Tacos de Lengua are just great. The traditional drinks like Horchata and Tamarindo are sooo good and refreshing. They're very large too! Prices are more than fair in comparison to other Latin Restaurants. Very welcoming environment and staff:) Can't wait to come back again. Will be posting pictures next time we go. (Rude Staff and poor customer service.. If you would like details please see below.) I went into Pollo Dorado for the first time on 11/12/2019 at 9:00 pm for a chicken burrito with no onion. I asked for no onion when I ordered and before I walked out I asked the cashier if there were onions and she said no. After arriving at home I bit into my burrito and got...you guessed it an onion. I instantly called the restaurant and asked them if I could have a new burrito and reminded her that I did ask about the onions before I left the restaurant and now I would have to drive all the way back to exchange it. To this the cashier replied " I didn't make it so i didn't know it had onions." No apology ..just an explanation that it wasn't her fault. She also asked me to bring the burrito with me. I assumed this was to prove I didn't eat it. I obliged and drove back to the restaurant. When I arrived the cashier then opened the burrito and starts digging through it with a fork. She says " I rang it up no onion and the cook said she didn't put onions in it so can you show me where the onions are?" I was in so much disbelief that I said out loud " Why I would leave my house this late at night, in the cold, and drive 15 minutes if I didn't have an onion in my burrito?" She must have seen the look on my face because she hands me a bag with a replacement burrito and says "Well do you want to check this one?". I open it up , bite into it and say "This one has no onions." and I walk out. It is ok if the cook messes up an order ..people are human, it is ok if an onion fell into my food on accident..these things happen. What is bad customer service is not getting an apology and the cashier inferring that I was lying. It is not like I ate the burrito I came back to exchange it. Was going to order "Sopa de Res" from Mega Mart originally but they were so unorganized that not even the guy who picked up the phone knew they sold soup!! That being said i searched for "sopa de res" online and found this restaurant. They were so nice and the soup is AMAZING!!!! Definitely will be ordering from them from now on. Dude everything was so bad. I swear to you their version of French toast is an abomination. Yeah I know why even get the French toast at a Salvadorian place? Love this place for take out! The pupusas are real tasty and fresh. The stewed meat with beans and rice is our favorite. I rather not dine in because the place is so frequented by clients, it's a mad house in there! The door opens often times and I have little ones so it is not as appealing to dine in. The restaurant does not seem super clean but it sure is busy and I have never gotten sick off of it! So I like it! Convenient, fast, and most important- good food!! read more

The pupusas here are great for the price! The sopa de res was tasty too(I always think that soup is a bit pricey for no reason..a bunch of vegetables and the fattening bones in some seasoned water-always costs$9 and above).. The food always looks good here though and everything Ive tried was very yummy. They always have a nice variety of dishes you can choose from by looking at through a glass counter. This is one of those places you could drive pay a thousand times and not notice it. This time, I noticed it, and I was hungry and looking for some place informal and thought I'd give it a try. It is very informal, but with a surprisingly complete menu of beef, fish and chicken dishes. I tried the shredded beef with peppers, served with rice and beans and it was just fine.
