Chicken Bacon Sandwich and platinos.

I've never heard or had Pollo Campero. I'm an adventurous eater so I went ahead and tried it out while in Huntington Park. I had a breaded chicken breast sandwich which was very thick and moist. The bun was nice and soft too. The platinos were the bomb The best platinos I've ever eaten in my entire six decades. They were not dry hard or overcooked they were nice and soft and plump. I definitely will be back.

Empanada Trio Meal

We love to stop and bring the family. The meals are super affordable. This time we got the Empanada Trio Meal with a side of Yuka fries. I love the comparo sauce. I think it makes the meal. We also got a side of plantains. They were delicious. We love taking their food to go, but we also learn that they have a law-enforcement 50% off deal.

8 Piece Family Meal - half fried/charbroiled

After a busy morning, cleaning the kitchen, not in the mood to cook and dirty it again! Came to enjoy this eight piece, half fried and half charbroiled chicken with my hubby! I love the refried beans and my hubby loves the coleslaw, perfectly matched with the corn tortillas! Love this chicken! Service was excellent was asked a couple times during our meal if we needed anything, thanks!

I'm a bit conflicted about how to write this review, and I'll explain why in a bit. Pollo Campero was originally established in Guatemala, and since I'm from Guatemala, I wanted to treat my parents to our favorite restaurant from when we used to live there. I hosted a PPV event last night and decided to visit the nearest Pollo Campero, which happened to be the one in South Gate. As you walk in, you're greeted with the enticing scent of their delicious fried chicken. I ordered their 20-piece family meal with all fried and mixed chicken, along with mac and cheese, plantains, rice, beans as sides, and 12 empanadas. The lady at the register offered their special of four empanadas for $7 and honored it for the 12 that I ordered, which I thought was really nice of her. The total for this meal came out to be $103, which I felt was a good deal. The ambiance had the typical Pollo Campero vibe, and it was super busy on this Saturday afternoon. It took about 15 minutes for my order to be prepared, and I double-checked everything was there before heading home. Here's where things got a bit confusing. When I unpacked my bags, I noticed that the containers for the sides didn't look like a family-size portion, meaning it didn't seem like it was meant to feed "20 people." Since I was expecting 15 people for the event, my wife ended up making some more rice, beans, and mashed potatoes. The food itself was delicious as alway,s. My family enjoyed it so much that we didn't have any leftovers. It was our first time trying the empanadas, and they were delightful, with plenty of chicken and flavor. The sides were also flavorful, and the plantains were crunchy and sweet. Overall, the customer service and food quality were perfect. The portion size for a family meal appears to be a corporate issue rather than a problem with this specific restaurant, so I'm giving it five stars. I'll be back again.

Fried chicken

I had low expectations of this restaurant but my wifey and I were pleasantly surprised about the food. I was informed that the fried chicken was more popular than the grilled chicken. After trying both, I thought it would be the reverse. Either way, the meat is very well seasoned before cooking. The flavor penetration was deep and it tastes wonderful. The yuca fries have a slightly different taste and texture. Combined with the dipping sauce, you are in for a treat. If you eat in, the food is served on colorful plastic plates for a change of pace. The mango and jamaica drinks are not too sweet but very refreshing. The service is very warm and friendly and the facility is clean and well maintained. I don't know why the chain is rated so low. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

Came in on a Tuesday night with the family. Used an awesome coupon they offered on the app and also enjoyed a few more items they offered. The chicken was delicious the drinks were refreshing. And the service was 5 stars. The restaurant space is open and plenty of seating. Will def be back to enjoy. Shout out to Carla for the help with the app and patience with our ordering.

Holbox is a Mexican seafood spot inside Mercado La Paloma and the quality of the food seriously speaks for itself. You can tell there's real care and freshness put into every dish. It absolutely deserves all the recognition it gets as one of LA's standout seafood spots. I had the ceviche mixto with rice and a shrimp taco and both were sooo good. The ceviche was bright fresh flavorful and packed with seafood. The shrimp taco was perfectly balanced and honestly one of those tacos you think about later. My partner got the smoked kanpachi taco and a shrimp plate that neither of us can remember the exact name of but the sauce on it was INSANE. We were literally talking about it the whole meal. My daughter got the coctel and loved it too. Even the lemonade was electric... refreshing flavorful and honestly one of the best lemonades I've had in a while. Everything tasted fresh clean and thoughtfully prepared without feeling pretentious. The whole meal felt comforting while still being exciting and unique. Overall this place absolutely lived up to the reviews and I'll definitely be back next time I'm in LA. Holbox is officially worth the hype.

Upon first bite, I did not like the carne. IMO I don't like bell pepper and that's the first thing I tasted, so that overpowered my palate from being to taste the carne. My boyfriend however enjoyed it. He said it had good flavor and was tasty. We then tried the jamon y queso. My favorite of the 3 we tried and probably the only one I ate. I like ham and I like cheese so I enjoyed it. Since this was the only one I liked, my boyfriend let me eat all of this (since we were splitting it). I like the saltiness you get from the ham and the texture of the melted cheese makes the empanada melt in your mouth. I did not like the elote. I was expecting something different. And again I tasted bell pepper. My boyfriend ate this one. He said he likes how it had a lot of corn and there was some type of sauce inside that brought of the flavor which he enjoyed. The ambiance of where this is located is cool. It's located in the Steel Craft and we were there for the game so it has a great atmosphere.

I always make big orders, and share with family and friends. today I made a regular size order (5 arepas con queso y 10 empanadas) picked them up on my break. Get back to work and noticed none of the arepas had cheese. called and let them know. Didn't ask for anything. After thinking about it, asked if I could stop later, on my way home, to pick up the missing cheese. The lady said of course and that she'd be there. She offered a free order of arepas to fix their mistake. Once I arrived the lady recognized me right away and told me they would give me three arepas, I said that was fine. She told me it was going to be a while and couldn't tell me how long because there was a big order. Then she came out of the kitchen and said the owner had said Two arepas. I told her that was fine, but I was more concerned about the time it would take. I heard the owner saying from the kitchen that it would be fast. I said ok. I asked if I could have cheese for the other three arepas. The owner told (from the kitchen) no! That she'd was giving me two arepas already. I asked her to come out and speak to me that I had not asked for anything free and did not want to eat the initial arepas without cheese. She replied that she could not come out of the kitchen to speak to me because she was busy. I didn't say anything else and left without the cheese I had original requested or more arepas. Not sure where she thought she was doing me a favor. They made me the mistake and handled the whole situation as if they were accommodating me for something I had done! I will never go back or any of my friends or family.

We're greeted by the owner of the restaurant she told us we can sit anywhere in the restaurant and we did find a table. She came and hand us the menu then she our drinks order we both order coffee. The restaurant is very nice e cozy little restaurant of full of Colombian adornments that you feel you are in Colombia. The waitress brought our meal it looks so good and delicious and the aroma was overwhelming from the Arepa and the Huevos Pericos or scrambled eggs. I try the scramble eggs they so good incredible flavors in the egg including the other ingredients like the tomatoes and onions and spices they use in the egg they were fluffy and good. The rice was amazing it have good flavor in the rice and fluffy that we enjoy. The Arepa was so good like a pupusa but cheesy that I really like including the cheese they use in Arepa. Overall we enjoy the food at the El Molinito restaurant, we come back again and try different items from their menu.
