Delicious Mexican-style/flavored fried chicken, beans and tortillas in a clean fast food setting! Need something quick, filling and not too expensive?! Look no further! The chicken was very fresh and flavorful as were their Campero beans! And their horchata was pretty authentic! Would make my abuelita proud! ¡Hasta pronto!

Idid not like the chicken, tenders and wings in this fast food eatery and i do not plan to return any tine soon. The only thing it has going for it is the large dining space upstairs and self service for drinks.

Delicious-you need to try the food here. I love the juicy chicken, and it is flavorful. The place may look closed from the outside because the windows look like they are covered with white paper, BUT, THEY ARE OPEN, and there is great food here! Love the Mac 'n cheese, too! See my previous review and tons of photos. In brief, GREAT CHICKEN!! Juicy and flavorful. Enjoy! They have fried and grilled. Yum to both!!

I'm over here pondering if I ever would have stopped in to a Pollo Compero had it not been for a Yelp event and I'm pretty sure that while I work near one, I may not ever have tried them out. I would have been at a loss because while it's fast food, I was sort of blown away by this fried two piece ... I got a few extras because why not try it all. Downloading the appp and placing an order also gets you $10 credit to come back, so you know I gave this a thorough trial. The crispiness of the fried chicken was fantastic and the chickens pretty good underneath, I was not disappointed although I didn't expect much, the Mac n cheese was standard, the flan while a little heavy n sweet was good, the horchata is thin, the Jamaican punch is a sugar bomb and not great but I'm imagining it's like a sorrel punch? I dnno, the yucca fries are cool to see, the rice n beans were just fine n dandy.... I told you I went back. I tried a ton. I was impressed by the flavor of the grilled chicken. A lot of the experience far exceeded my fast food expectations. The place is clean and the staff is kind. I even liked their ranch even though I never ever want or order ranch. I liked the creamy crunchy coleslaw a bunch but thought the tortillas stunk and the rolls almost as lame. The $2 add on of empanadas were good even if I expected chicken n got egg... they were pretty good for what they were. Thank you Yelp and pollo compero This was a super dope tryout!

Really flavorful Rotisserie Chicken with all yummy side fixins'. This branch actually has two floors with a spacious second floor dining area; Ordered at the counter on the first floor; menu is simple with several varieties of Chicken flavor; combo meals has both fried and grilled chicken as well. The chicken were really well seasoned and packed with flavor-meal also comes with dipping sauces for that extra kick. I really liked the side order of Campero Rice- tasted especially good to me. Overall, chicken tasted yummy

Two Piece Grilled chicken, beans, corn tortilla, horchata

Ordered the Two Piece Individual Meal for Yelp Elite - choice of grilled chicken, beans, tortilla, and extra cost for a regular drink. The requested utensils were missing in the bag, but the rest of the order was correct. The order was completed by the time I arrived and warm when I picked it up. The grilled chicken had crispy and flavorful skin, the corn tortillas were warm but fell apart easily, and the beans were pretty liquidy but also alright. There was one table for 1 at the bottom level where the cashier was, with stairs leading to upstairs seating. I swung by on a Saturday evening, and there was no line so I was able to pick up quickly. For the price (~$15), it is pretty expensive for fast food but comparable to other fast food places.

I was invited to try this new Pollo Campero location through Yelp Elite. We received a two piece chicken meal with a side and drink order. I picked the two piece fried chicken meal with a side of plantains and a coke. We had to download the app and order online to redeem our order, so I downloaded the app and followed the instructions that were sent to us by the community manager, placed my order and picked up my meal. The staff at this location were friendly and prompt, and I was able to enjoy a delicious chicken meal within 5 mins of placing my order!

For the Pollo Campero - Midtown East Elite event, I was allowed to redeem 2 piece chicken with 1 side, bread, and a regular drink via their app. I chose grilled chicken, side of mac and cheese, a potato bun, and horchata. It took less than 15min for my order to be ready because it was already packaged when I came to pick it up. The chicken (drumstick and dark meat breast pieces) is nicely seasoned and citrus grilled, so you can taste a lemon flavor. The mac and cheese is a little on the salty side. The potato bun was soft and is always nice. I have never tried Horchata before, so it was interesting to try the blend of white rice, water, and cinnamon. There was a second floor that had a good amount of seating.

I've had the fried and grilled chicken here a few times. The chicken is delicious. I like both the fried and grilled. The fried chicken breast is crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The thigh and wings are pretty good too. The pieces tend to be smaller, but I think that's normal chicken size. The breast is slightly bigger than the rest of the pieces. The grilled is well seasoned and a little bit of salty taste. It's easy to order on the app and pick up at the counter. The app also gives rewards. You can eat in or take-out. They have a big upstairs seating. 1 table downstairs, but plenty of seats upstairs.

OK! Said that if I ever tried their fried chicken I'd update my review... and here goes... Their Fried Chicken is WAY better than their roasted chicken! Even when it was delivered to us... it was better. I ordered a 4 piece meal and 3 out 4 pieces were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sweet plantains .. well, they are sweet plantains (they were what you'd expect) and the rice was nice and tasty. Why only 3 stars? A. They do not allow you to initial or write your name on your item when you are ordering online. You get a group of people ordering and later you have to tear into everything to find out what's what. B. They forgot our drinks. Nothing worse than incomplete orders. C. And this is something more than one person said... Even though the fried chicken is good... the rice was tasty... the sweet plantains were sweet... somehow, their food does not jive well together.

2 piece, plantains, horchata, dinner roll

Pollo Campero is a brand new chicken spot in Midtown East and is definitely a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I ordered pickup and got a 2-piece set with Horchata, Dinner Roll and Plantains. The 2 piece set was surprisingly good, with crispy, flavorful skin and juicy chicken. The Horchata also surprised--I tend not to like the drink but it impressed here. Would definitely recommend checking it out

Honestly the chicken was pretty good! The fried chicken was juicy and had flavor! The plantains were pretty decent as well but I'm a sucker for all plantains! The roll in the bag really threw me off I don't know why I really don't like this it made me not eat it. The service was quick and easy! Ambiance feels like any fast food chain!

I was waiting for months for this place to open , and I stopped walking by, but today I did, and it looks like they opened 2 weeks ago ;( They got fried and grilled chicken and about 16 meal combinations on just the chicken. You can also pick empanadas, sweet plantains, rice, beans, sandwiches, and flan. Eat in or take out. I got 4 pieces of chicken with two sides for like $16. My bag had an appetizing aroma, and I couldn't wait to get home to try it. This is not my first time eating Campero, I hit the spot at PABT all the time. The chicken has a seasoned coating on the chicken, which is unique and unlike any well-known chicken shops. a little thin but crispy and moist inside. I had the rice and beans as my sides they aren't single serving sizes. The rice is flavored with chicken broth and black pepper-blended corn, roasted green and red bell peppers, and yellow onions. The beans are more non-spicy chili and not like Cuban or other Hispanic beans I had. I feel this was a good meal, tasteful, and for surely they being near the office, I will visit again soon.

The breading on these chicken fingers was nothing special and again, so so small. Service was fast at least, but the place itself was dirty and virtually every table needed a wipe down. I know, I know, it's Penn Station, it's supposed to be a little grimy. Honestly, if these chicken fingers weren't so tiny and my fries were properly cooked I could deal with a little grime. Mama bear got a Spanish chaufa which is basically the Peruvian version of fried rice. She seemed to enjoy it. I also got a side of squash soup which was pretty good. We washed it all down with Jarritos, the Mexican soda. Solid choice. Now the restroom situation. Chirp does not have a public restroom. My mom was bothered by that and I could see her starting to make it a thing. I had to nip that in the bud. I get it, I understand, but that is not the hill I die on. No restroom, no worries. The setup inside this dimly lit restaurant had a bunch of steam tables offering various beef and chicken dishes, a handful of rice options, and a bunch of salads/fruits. Having no idea what we were looking at, we asked the friendly owner for some advice. After some contemplation, two of us made a plate with all beef over some jollof rice, and another with basically all chicken items over a different type of flavorful rice. We knew it was too much, but our goal was to figure out what we would come back for. Honestly, I did not enjoy most of the chicken because it's sitting in steam trays getting overcooked.
