I gave Polito's a second chance. I'm sorry to have to say it, but it's the worst pizza in St. Cloud. They make the pizzas early in the day. Then the already-cooked pizza sits there, drying out and cooling off. So, when you walk in, there are several pizzas that look interesting and like they might be worth trying. You choose which pizza slices you want. They then toss them into the oven to heat them up. On my second attempt, the server didn't heat it up long enough, so when I received my slice, the toppings on the supreme weren't heated through. I was eating a slice that was still cool. How is this okay? Maybe if you ordered a fresh, whole pizza, you might enjoy it. I, however, haven't had a good experience either time I've been here, and so I won't be back. read more

I was shopping downtown on Small Business Saturday and saw that they had a deal for the day. My other half and I tried it out. It was a bit confusing how the pizza seemed to be displayed out in the open with no heat or cold on it. I was glad to see that the pizza was warmed up in the oven before served. They could have used some signs with the pizza name. I had to guess at what the different kinds were. I liked that the crust was crispy on the bottom. Large slices, one would be enough for anyone. The deal was 2 slices and a drink for $6. That seemed about right for what was offered. I may try again and call in an order to compare. read more

I just moved up here from the Twin Cities and was on the lookout for a pizza-by-the-slice joint. I was pleasantly surprised to find Polito's! My old pizza joint, Mesa's is the best pizza I have ever graced my salivary glands with and while Polito's is not Mesa's, it is a worthy substitute. If you have never been to this style restaurant, the pizza is intentionally cooked partially then put on display. It will be fully cooked upon your order. read more

Stopped in for the first time yesterday for lunch. I enjoy the simplistic, no frills approach to this "pizza by the slice" joint. The food was great! Service is a bit slow/standoffish and for some reason they don't put out signs to indicate which pizza is which behind the window.. seems like it would make everybody's lives, including their own, much easier. I do understand that they are in their first few weeks of business, and based on the great slice of pizza, I will be returning! read more

I love this place. The Pizza is GREAT! Yes, some of the Slices look like they have been out awhile (they haven't ), but trust me after a warm up. They taste great. Slices are huge for the price. Let me just say, I responded to a new pizza-slinging joint in St. Cloud with a major eye roll. But after trying Politos, it is my new go-to place. Here's why: - Delicious: I love a good East Coast style pizza. The meat to sauce to cheese ratio is my favorite. Nothing is to heavy, but it fills you right up. The pepperoni and sausage is spicey and the cheese is gooey. The veggies we had on our supreme were fresh. - Unique: As I said, I was not feeling another St. Cloud pizzeria, but I don't know of another location that perfects the thin, New York-esque tomato pie like this. -Service: We ordered a pizza for carry out during Art Crawl. It was busy, but the clerk was kind, attentive and trying to move people through quickly. He also showed us our pizza to make sure it was cooked to perfection. I've heard some comment that the by-the-slice set up is strange, with pre-cooked pizza sitting out, ready to be tossed back in the oven for reheating at request. All I can say is that this is standard practice on the East Coast. And while it may seem a little odd if you haven't seen it before, it's no different than ordering a sub with precooked meat and having it toasted. read more

This place is honestly gross, there pizza seems like it was just left out for hours! It was dried out more then a pornstar that just worked a double shift. Pizza was harder then a man on viagra! Their customer service was shittier then a bag of diapers! To top it all off I found a rat inside their bathrooms that was poorly cleaned! A slice of New York pizza is the absolutely perfect size, as it allows you to customize your order to your exact level of hunger. Just hungry, then one slice will suffice. i went to Polito's because I was hungry. As another reviewer stated below, I felt my service was standoffish, too. I did however like the simplicity of the space, it felt college like, just here for a slice and go. It was clean. Many in there were families. But I didn't care for my pizza slice, it was warmish, but not particularly delicious or hitting the spot like pizza should. Maybe it's different fresh, but if you like pizza that is leftover and reheated you will love Politos pizza. And maybe college kids do. One of the worst aspects of American culture is our reliance on chain restaurants, so I thought I would still give this place a chance since this wasn't a huge chain, but skeptical because like one viewer said below, downtown doesn't need another pizza joint. read more

This is actual real NY-style pizza in Minnesota! Born and raised in NYC I've been looking for pizza in MN for almost ten years. This is it!

They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. To make matters even worse their pizza was terrible. We ordered our pizza online. After patiently waiting for 25 minutes past delivery time we gave them a call at which time we were informed that their online ordering system was not working and it had auto scheduled us for later that evening. I can understand that, technology issues happen. BUT they did not confirm our order and told us it would be to our home in 30-45 minutes. 65 minutes later we called to ask where our pizza was and it was apparently on its way. 15 minutes later a pizza arrived, just not the pizza we had ordered. To pile on top of it being wrong it was cold and the pizza dough was raw in the middle and soggy everywhere else. We called again. They offered to send us yet another pizza (if we wanted to wait another 45-65 minutes) and a gift card. We really just wanted our money back at this point, which should be understandable, and cheaper for them in the long run. The manager said that the owner was okay doing that. We were satisfied and got something else to eat. Our money never came back to our account. We called the manager who let us speak directly with the owner finally. The owner went back on his word and refused to refund the money. He told us that since we would not accept the 2nd pizza he considered the matter closed. Ridiculous. Do not eat here. If I could possibly give them zero stars I would in a heartbeat. read more
