My brother Peter used to own Waldo's Pizza in St Cloud, MN. That is my #1 all-time favorite pizza place, hands down. He sold the restaurant, and it changed hands a couple of times now, and the recipe and ingredients were changed as well, resulting in a pizza that just isn't as good as when Pete owned it. I miss that pizza. For decades now though, I have eaten at Marnanteli's Pizza whenever I was in Cold Spring. I have always enjoyed their pizza and appetizers. It has been a 4-star pizza place to me forever. About a year or two ago though, Peter bought Marnanteli's. Peter is excellent at running a restaurant. I am certain that the kitchen is spotless at all times, that the staff is happy, and that the ingredients used for making the pizza, are top-notch. I know that no shortcuts were used in the making of my food. Where I previously enjoyed the cheese bread, it now has more garlic on it, and much more cheese, going from good to great. The pizza sauce has a little more spice to it as well, making it delicious with every bite. Peter also introduced new menu items like monster cookies and brownies and such. A few of his unique pizzas from Waldo's made it to Marnanteli's, like the B52 Bomber. Just ordered, "lasagna", off of their delivery menu. It looks like it was tossed in a very unsuitable container. The breadsticks that came with it were also just tossed on top of the lasagna. When in town we always have to hit up Marnanteli's multiple times because my brother is obsessed with the BBQ chicken pizza. He would eat it every day if he could, and I really think he tries too. I think it is a place where they have so many options on the menu, they don't really specialize in anything, and everything is just OK.. They have different specials day of the week. We went on Tuesday for free cookie day. The cookie was a nice touch, especially because we weren't expecting it. I think the pizza is a lot better than the calzone, I wasn't a fan of the calzone at all so I tried a pizza on my next trip. The pizzas are offered in a lot of different sizes and have a pretty thin crusts. If you want pizza and aren't really hungry, I would ask for a 7 inch. If you are pretty hungry, I would order the 10 inch since I didn't feel like it was really filling pizza. If you don't want pizza, they have wraps, salads, tacos, etc. There aren't many options in this town and this isn't a bad option to try. read more

After I was reading my last review, I decided to upgrade it to a 4 star ! If i could it would be more a 3 to 4. Why ? On certain days the restaurant is filled with sports teams and the service is slow. But on other days, its fairly decent. My husband and I have been extremely happy with Marnantellis. He always gets the broasted chicken and I get the taco pizza. The food has always been hot and very good tasting. We don't live nearby. In fact we live 2 hours away. But now and then we decide it's time for a road trip to Marnantellis. It's well worth the drive. And on the way home we stop at the truck stop in Clearwater. Ok not sure what the norm is in this small town but we walked in 25 minutes before they closed on a Thursday night. They were friendly and pretty fast! We took the pizza to go back to our hotel room. I was definitely satisfied with my choice of Marnanteli's this week. Was coming into town for an event, and there aren't many places rated on Yelp in Cold Spring and I like to support local restaurants instead of nationwide chains I can get anywhere else. I ordered a pizza so I had leftovers for the next day or two. I got their large size and woofed down half of it and was definitely full after that (plus ordered 2 cookies for $1). Pizza was good, and still tasted good the day after (my usual go to pizza is Papa Johns or Little Caesars for reference, and LC is edible the next day but I'd never say I was really happy with LC after it was not fresh, I would say Marnanteli's was definitely just as good the next day). It was a Tuesday night around 6, so the place was pretty empty, but it is a pretty big place for a small town. I'd definitely go back if I'm ever in Cold Spring (but I think I'd like to try one of the local bars next time I'm in town to switch it up) read more

Don't get me wrong the food is good, but the delivery service is terrible! We ordered a couple pizzas on a Friday night, they told us they would be delivered an hour and 15 minutes later. At an 1 hour and 30 minutes later we called to make sure it was on the way. The lady reassured us it was on its way. Another 30 minutes goes by we call again and asked the status of the delivery person. Again they reassured us the pizza wasn't there and was on its way. Another 20 minutes later we call to cancel, as it had been well over 2 hours since we placed the order. The lady answering told us they finally figured out the pizzas were never made. This is the second time now this has happened! It's so sad that in a small town were we want to support the business, it fails us time and time again.
