Oh how I love Gary's pizza! Gary's is a great spot to hit if you're looking for a solid pizza option and was a college go to of mine. I was recently back visiting and had to stop in for a pizza and was pleasantly surprised at how good it still was! The service is fast, the food is reasonably priced and always a solid option. I love their cream cheese jalapeño popper pizza and appreciate that we are able to customize it to take off ingredients on part of the pizza. You can also get pizza by the slice which is really nice if you're stopping in alone or with a group who can't decide on one thing! The interior is relatively small with limited seating but still a cozy pizza joint worth checking out. read more

Stopped in tonight during rocktoberfest, asked the kid at the counter if they could make a margherita pizza... he looked like a deer in the headlights and said without hesitation "never heard of that". I then asked if they had basil, he said no but the pizza shop down the road could probably make the pizza I wanted.. not sure about a pizza shop that 1.doesn't know what a margherita pizza is and 2. the immediate response is to send a prospective customer to another restaurant. Gary's pizza was a special treat every time I visited friends at SJU and was even catered at one of their weddings! It is really good pizza. On top of that - they have one of the most unqiuely yummy pies I've ever eaten - the cream cheese/jalapeno popper pizza. It is so good! Just like the traditional appetizer it has a wonderful blend of spice from the jalapeno and creamy cheese. Delicious! Found out there are multiple locations this past hockey season when I ordered from one in Mankato. Hoping to have more opportunities to order from them in the future or that they expand into the Twin Cities! read more

This is the worst pizza I've ever had. If I were stranded on a raft in the middle of the pacific and by the grace of god, a Gary's pizza landed on my face, I would sink it to the bottom of the ocean before batting an eye. The dough was thicker than Kim Kardashians plastic ass, and the sauce to cheese ratio was abysmal. I feel bad for the horse that died to make the sausage and pepperoni. The only redeeming quality about this place is that it didn't cause me to have explosive diarrhea. Bravo! Safe to say, Gary's pizza is the birthplace of AIDS. read more

Since moving to the area we ordered 10 times, the pizzas, wings and Cherry dessert. Each order is in the expensive side, but normally worth it. The wings are purchased by the pound, not quantity count like other places. We have our order delivered to us and normally is hot. Sometimes it takes awhile due to being a game night or on a Sunday afternoon. Definitely should give it a try at least one time! read more

Online ordering sucks! Ordered a half and half pizza... the jalapeños that were to be on HALF, were on the WHOLE pizza. The order specifically said: Left: sausage and Right: pepperoni & jalapeño when I checked out. The ticket on the pizza when we got it was: Large, traditional Sausage, Pepperoni, Jalapeño. Gary's does the job. When it came to feeding my student staff, Gary's was the obvious choice for price. We got cheese, cream cheese + cheese, and a vegetable pizza (because of Lent), and the food was delicious. Yes, it's greasy, but that's pizza. I was surprised by the cream cheese + cheese pizza, and the vegetable pizza was awesome (loaded with veggies). Pick-up was easy, but a couple of the people behind the counter ignored me...so I had to wait until I caught someone's attention before I could ask after my pizzas. Awesome pizza. As a student, I had it many many times after they first opened. Recently have had it twice --same great taste as before. Crust is just thick enough, the sauce, meats and cheese are combined to perfection. Prices are student-friendly. Not sure what the other commenters were talking about, but I suppose it's possible during late nights or busy hours, things went wrong. Never has happened to me though. read more

Even after we moved from St. Joe we still drive there a few weekends per month to eat in. We also go the one on 25th Ave sometimes. Just as good as The House of Pizza for about 1/2 the price. The Gary's Special with a large pizza, cheese bread and 2 liter (or fountain soda if you eat in) is a great deal. Always fast and fresh. These one-star reviews are mind boggling because we've been going to Gary's for about 30 years since my SCSU days and it's always awesome. read more
