First time trying this spot, searched it here on YELP. I ordered fish ceviche and a shrimp ceviche. Both very flavorful, no disappointment. Called in my order and it was ready for pick up in 15 minutes. This seafood restaurant is amazing!!!! My family is huge on mariscos and I usually stick to shrimp cocktails because I don't like seafood and can only tolerate shrimp. Wellll let me just tell you, I ate a little bit of everything we ordered...except for the Pola's Mix because I just wasn't ready to try octopus just yet. Anywho my family loved the Pola's mix, ceviche plate, pescado plate and shrimp cocktails. I myself am more motivated to try different dishes since I was able to enjoy more than just a shrimp cocktail. The other thing I really liked is that the shrimp was cleaned off. The customer service was amazing as well so it definitely makes you want to return. First I want to start by saying how nice everyone was. When I first walked in I noticed how clean and inviting the space was. They offered to let me try the ceviche and other items. Everything tasted super fresh. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, very generous portions. New Montclair gem. Must try before they get super busy and you won't be able to get in there. Every once in a while you hear whispers of a hole in the wall place over and over until your curiosity gets the best of you and you finally make the destination happen. I like most seafood but avoid the weird stuff like octopus. Pola's is primarily seafood and they specialize in making very very fresh ceviche. I ordered the larger dish with the fish and shrimp ceviche (splurge and spend the measly $10 for the large one). The juice that they make for it to marinate in has a little spice but it's also kind of sweet, and the rest of the ingredients are very fresh. The shrimp and fish pieces are so flavorful that it's impossible to stop eating. If I were to be critical of Pola's, I would recommend avocado and ketchup so it's really authentic, and maybe they do have these options but I didn't see them in the last two visits. Overall though this is by far the best ceviche in the area so don't pass it up. read more

So I stopped into this place purely based on the reviews and let me tell you, I'm sure glad I did!! I walked in and was met by Hugo who was so nice. Enjoyed dinner with my gf here Friday. Service was impeccable. From the moment we entered we were greeted and treated like family . We were offered a sample. Prices were beyond fair. We were going to purchase a single tostada and we offered the $10 dollar plate of ceviche instead which turned out to be enough for 4 massive tostadas!! The fish is fresh and clean. This is the second time I have been to Pola's and the food is so good. We have tried quite a few things from here and everything is so fresh and has such great flavor. My favorite dish is the shrimp taco, the sauce on the taco is a chipotle creama and it is amazing!
