My boyfriend and I came to this Pokitomik location over the past weekend after going to the one in the valley religiously for years! This location is also in a strip mall, but the strip mall is never too busy or full. This means that Pokitomik never has a line out the door, but they've been here for a couple years now. When we got there, there were only what looked like 2 guys in the whole store, both in the back blasting loud heavy rap music. I don't know if they saw or heard us come in, though, which was a little annoying. We had to order our food to go because there's only 1 table in the restaurant and it's for employee's (since they don't have a public restroom, which would allow them more actual public seating.) I got a small create your own poke bowl, while my boyfriend got a regular size. The small for me was more than enough, and I even had some leftover for a small secondary meal later or the next day. The regular was a bit bigger, and came with 3 sides of fish, while the small came with 2. The fish was good, though, and once we actually got to ordering, the service picked up and we were able to get out of there somewhat quickly. The price is what you can expect an LA city/ LA neighboring city to be at, sitting around $17-22. Most meals are over $10 nowadays, so for me, I see it to be more redeemable when I can split it into multiple meals. Pokeland, which is a little bit further into Thousand Oaks, gives you more for cheaper and is still good quality, as well. read more

I hate leaving low reviews but this food made me feel sick. i went back thinking it could have been from something else, but the food continually makes my stomach hurt. the cucumbers were sticky almost like how natto looks despite them being fresh. there are better options for poke and sushi nearby. i am giving two stars because the people working are clearly working hard and are kind but i cannot recommend going here read more

Found this place on door dash. It traveled very well to the house. Was delicious. My daughter come home and we wanted Poke bowls so I said let's go to this place and try it. The owner is friendly and gave my daughter GREAT recommendations. This has become one of my favorite spots to go for poke bowls. They also do burritos, and tacos. Delicious every time we have been there. He has a couple unique Tunas that are homemade or made the same way they do in Hawaii. The restaurant is always clean but there are no tables to eat inside. Which has been fine for us as we take it home. I would highly recommend this place if you want stellar poke bowls. I will add pictures next time we do. read more

Came here with my partner during our lunch hour on a Monday. There was plenty of parking as it's in a large plaza with numerous other businesses. The inside is small, with about 4 2-person tables. The ambiance is bright and inviting. One of the employees greeted us immediately. Both employees who ended up helping us were very friendly. I decided to get a regular bowl. I tried their new Trinity tuna and decided to get it because it was delicious. For the base, I got their cilantro rice. I got spicy crab mix, spicy soy sauce, corn, edamame, cucumber, green onions, seaweed salad, crispy onions, crispy garlic, nori, sesame seeds, wasabi cream, and spicy mayo. It was a great size bowl and worth the price. Something to note is that unlike other poke spots, the toppings are not unlimited and are capped depending on the size of bowl you order. But all the ingredients were extremely fresh and everything tasted great. I was able to finish the whole bowl but I did slow down at the end. I cannot tell you how fast I demolished this spicy Cheeto burrito! The owner is so friendly he helped me figure out exactly what to order with my gluten allergy! The ingredients were fresh, mouthwatering and the jalapeño cream cheese on the side was perfect to dip the burrito in. I don't live in the area but I'm driving back asap to get another one. The order: Spicy Cheeto Burrito with white rice, salmon, spicy tuna, avocado, cilantro, edamame, red onion, ginger, furikake, spicy mayo inside and jalapeño cream cheese on the side. 100% recommend!! read more

Tried this place for the first time today. My new favorite in the area for sure. The tuna is fresh and all the other ingredients were no different. They are generous with the portions of everything. Poke is my favorite kind of food and this place is at the top of my list for the area. I wish they set tables out for dine-in but that's my only complaint. I absolutely loved this place! Since it was our first time, the owner was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the menu and even was generous to taste some of the fish. The freshness of the fish was impressive, which is the most important part of any bowl of course, and the variety of options was great. I was especially excited to find poke burritos (the Hot Cheetos version is a rare find and so good!) and the tacos were incredible. I only ordered one but immediately wished I'd gotten more. Nope. Not it. Heavy handed with the sauces. I can't really speak on the freshness of the establishment because I continued with my purchase, against my better judgment. The place seems fast-foodie and not the "fresh poke-style" you'd expect. We're in SoCal, do better. We ordered a large and it was so saucy! Without adding anything extra. Pickup was super fast, staff I interacted with was super friendly, clean interior; all good stuff. But something was off about the ingredients. The rice was not seasoned, other poke places I have been have had a kind of sushi rice seasoning but this rice had weird pockets of it having a vinegar flavor and a tang that was a worrisome one. The edamame also had a weird... almost sour flavor that's about to go bad. I know I made a make your own bowl, and flavor combos would be my bad, but I get the same thing at every poke place and something here just felt off. That being said, I think it could and would be all fixed with sauce. I have a soy allergy, so I cannot partake, but I can get by with the rice being seasoned. Middle of the road for me. I'm sure if I ordered one of their fun curated bowls I would have had a better outing, but with having food allergies, I have a limited menu. Portion size is nice, easy parking. read more

Phenomenal Poke! This joint shares parking with other businesses but finding a spot was pretty manageable around lunch time on a Friday. There was practically no one here so I was in and out with regular bowl within 5 minutes or so! There are some tables inside and none outside. The staff seemed real chill, informative and quick! I liked all the ingredients Pokitomik offers. I try to get as creative as possible and have a good blend of citrus, sesame, umami, spicy, crunchy, and creamy. Some of my favorite components were the masago,furikake, spicy mayo, and it's unique hot Cheetos crumbs. The portion size is pretty generous. read more

Really really good! I ordered this on DoorDash and it was so unbelievably tasty. The staff also got all the toppings on our bowls correct and I swear every time I order on a delivery app, the toppings are always missed but not here! We were so happy. With the growth and popularity for poke, I walked in here by chance and have found my favorite poke bowl place. Having grown up in Hawaii with expectations of ahi, sashimi, poke, I finally found a place that has it here! Salmon, ahi, shrimp are all exceptionally fresh and cut to perfect size as I like it. Might be my new favorite poke place in the area. I love their wide selections of toppings and crunchies and option size! I got a regular size bowl and can barely finish half by myself. My husband got the hot Cheetos sushi burrito with sweet salmon and spicy tuna (you can't go wrong with sweet and spicy) and it turned out so good. I like that you can choose tofu as one of the protein options as well. Always love some tofu in my poke bowl. We went on a Tuesday night and didn't have to wait long at all.
