We went last night (Saturday) and it was so empty from the parking lot, we thought they might be closed. Asked the hostess if we could sit at the bar because it was completely unoccupied. She showed us the sign saying "3 pieces per person minimum to sit at the bar." Uh yeah, that's not a problem. Of course, we ordered Omakase and we were guided through a magical offering of seafood sorcery, rivaled only by Shiro's in Seattle (trained by Jiro himself). I felt guilty, like we had stumbled into a secret wonderland made just for us. All of the good reviews here are true. These folks are magic. If you love good sushi, just go. Thank you, chefs! We will be back.

Food was not great and menu options were limited. I don't think I'll be back just simply on food and price, for the quality of food

Very good quality fish. Authentic Japanese sushi. Not your typical Americanized sushi restaurant go if you like authentic Japanese.

Excellent omakase, delicious specialty fish from Japan! Nice ambiance where you can actually hear your dinner companions.

My best man took us to Cho Cho San after everyone left the wedding. We'd all been many times before. Just a lot of good memories, birthdays, and anniversaries there. It's similar to Lupe's in that it's just one of those landmarks you never forget. I feel like Lupe's might have gone downhill a bit after the remodel but it's been many years since I've been. Same goes for Cho Cho San, if I'm ever in the area again I'll make a point of stopping in.

What upset me is that the online happy hour menu does NOT match the in restaurant happy hour menu!! It's nearly 50% more in restaurant. I was getting my tires replaced across the street and wanted to grab late lunch. Saw a sign that said happy hour everyday from 2:30-5pm. So I went online to look at the menu and was excited. Get into the restaurant, lo and behold, prices don't match online at all. And I was looking at the THOUSAND OAKS specific HH many. The people in the restaurant just kept saying, oh that's outdated. Then take it off the site. I know it's not their fault, whoever manages the site and company is responsible. It definitely soured me on ever coming back.

No, they didn't have a choice, i told them, its Sushi Su, if you expect me to pay the bill. I can attest, ITS THE BEST SUSHI I'VE EATEN ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, ON A PAR WITH JIRO'S SUSHI AS FEATURED IN THE MOVIE. I've been eating sushi since 1965 and have eaten it all over the world, so yes, in this food category consider myself an expert, or connoisseur. I wish they hadn't moved, but that was out of their control, they tore down their whole complex to build a ghetto. I am a solo sushi eater, but when others come along they may want other japanese delectables, which they have as well and in their new location they have partnered up with the best Thai restaurant we had in the area as well, so there is something for everyone.
