    Westlake roll

Really happy we came here for lunch! She's a California roll loyalist, but I had my mom try the seared albacore roll, and she absolutely loved it! Fresh, expertly crafted, and packed with options to please every palate

E+Mon is adorable inside and out. We loved how intimate this restaurant is. Inside the restaurant is super small with a sushi bar and only a few tables. The place to hang is definitely on their outdoor patio that also only holds about six tables. On a Friday this place was packed but we thankfully grabbed a seat outside. Staff were nice and the vibes were A+. Now for what everyone cares about, the sushi. We were pleasantly surprised at how generous the sushi portions were and that they had some more unique items. My friend ordered a Starry Night Roll with salmon and spicy tuna which we dubbed a favorite. I fell in love with their Bluefun Tuna. Perfect texture and super fresh. Definitely a cute understated spot to grab lunch or dinner. It's Westlake so prices reflect the ambiance. For about $50 a person we left satisfied but not stuffed. A little pricey but the quality was there and we really enjoyed how nice the patio was and the staff were attentive in bringing out dishes and cashing us out. Nice people work here and if you haven't been to E+Mon yet we'd highly recommend checking them out. A solid sushi restaurant on this side of town.

Innovative rolls, lively ambiance, and reasonable prices! We tried E*Mon for the first time last night, and we had a great time there abd would definitely return. Located in a popular strip mall within Westlake, this small restaurant is highly accessible with ample parking in front. Due to the wide popularity of this restaurant, we made an advance reservation the night before. I am so glad we did, as there was already a line in front of restaurant before it opened at 5 pm. The restaurant is small, with sitting at the sushi bar, inside along the window, and some outdoor sitting. There were about 7 chefs and 5 waiters/waitresses. The operation seemed highly efficient with quick turnaround for all orders and services. As for the menu, this restaurant offers a varieties of innovative rolls, sushi/nigiris, bao buns, salads, sashimi, and beverages. We felt this restaurant really excelled in innovative and yet delicious rolls. We ordered the lemon roll and blue crab/yellow tail roll, and we loved that all the ingredients came together perfectly in lovely presentations. As for the nigiris, while we loved the toros, other standalone fish was above average only. Despite us coming at at 5pm, the restaurant was already out of orange clam, sweet shrimps, and tomago, which felt a bit strange when the restaurant was just opened at 5pm on a busy Saturday evening. There was also an error in our bill where we were initially charged for sweet shrimp and tomago which were out, but they corrected the bill afterwards. The prices at the restaurant was great and very reasonable. Most appetizers were around $10-$15, , rolls were around $15-$25, and nigiris were around $12-$18 for 2. Our bill came to around $200 for people, which was very reasonable for the quality of our meals. If you love innovative rolls, this is the place for you. Highly recommend making reservations in advance so you don't have to wait at the door.

Fish quality was fresh and paired well. Particularly enjoyed the triple seared sushi with scallop, salmon, and toro. Nice cozy restaurant with good service and lots of natural light. Was disappointed by the spicy albacore cut roll. It tasted weird, not necessarily because the fish quality tasted bad but because of what was mixed in. On top of that the rice was mushy and soggy. Besides that dish enjoyed my lunch there. Definitely not cheap though

Varied menu, quick staff, delicious food, and dessert was fabulous. I liked the modern edgy music. And the location is right next to the farmers market on Sundays which makes for a 2 for 1 adventure. I highly recommend the coconut pudding. It's like rice pudding or arroz con leche with a brulee top.

There's alway that nice factor of trying someplace new. This was a find from one of our friend…read more Which was also a hit from another friend who's dined before. We had a dinner reservation last Saturday which we showed up a little early to have a cocktail before hand. It's located inside of a strip mall with loads of parking. A decent size patio seating. When you walk in, you're greeted with the hostess who were amazing. Right infront of you is the bar area. That itself isn't big at all. There's a few seat along the bar area and that's about it. Also inside dining isn't big as well. Restaurants wasn't massive but nice and quaint and very busy. We were told that if we wanted to grab a drink and take it outside to a spot while we wait for our table it would be fine. They would come get us once it's ready. Cocktails and wine menu was quite nice. They do allow you to bring up to two bottles for a corkage fee. Which we did take advantage of. But beforehand, started off with their smoke and sour cocktails. Mezcal, lime, hibiscus juice, farm egg whites and cherry bitters. It was quite delicious and that smoked mezcal, wow. If you like mezcal, it's worth trying. Bar area isn't big so we had to stand there and wait for our drink. Maybe a 10 to 15 minutes later, we were informed our table was ready. We were seated right behind the bar area for a table for four. I believe Jonathan was our waiter. Very sweet and friendly. Also, it did seemed like a lot of regulars. All the staff members seem to know everyone that was dining. Menu is limited but quite impressive. We started off with a few shared plates before the entrees. -Ember roasted red beets with preserved lemon crèma, spiced pumpkin seeds, pickled Fresno chilis and mint. Wow, it was delicious. The flavors with the beets, kiss kiss. -Smoke trout toast- blisters cherry tomatoes, candy beets, wild arugula, crème fraiche and lemon. This was top dish for starters from all of us. The flavor of the trout was the star of the dish. Highly recommend. -Mushrooms flatbread- shiitake, buna shimeji and oyster mushrooms, tarragon, fiore di Latte mozzarella and crème fraiche. Mushrooms lovers with amazing variety all combined together for a delicious bite. -Spicy scampi flatbread- rock shrimp, parsley, garlic, Calabrian chilis and parmigiano reggiano. It's literally having a seafood scampi but on a flatbread. Wow wow, favorite out of the two flatbread. Definitely recommend. Entrees, Manila clams and salt spring mussels tossed in spaghetti with Calabrian chilis and parsley. The flavors were excellent. Simple but very tasty. -Crispy gnocchi with cherry tomatoes, basil in a Parmesan fondue. It's alway a hit or miss for me but this was a hit. And the elk which was maybe a special. Not quite sure the whole description but it was very tasty. Plus it was very tender and cooked perfectly and mixed with a sauce and topped with crispy onions. Another hit. Lastly we actually had room left for dessert which was the bread pudding. Hot with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream. Perfect way to end an amazing meal. The service was great. Food was excellent and highly recommended. Each dish had its unique taste that was delicious. Everything ordered was outstanding and no crumbs were left. We would definitely be back.

Naveed took care of me at the bar where I began with the perfectly prepared Moody Rooster Old Fashion. Added to that Just a couple appetizers this time: the Burrata and Artichoke, and the Sea Bream crudo. The former had a beautiful burrata mound atop artichoke hearts, pine nuts, and olive oil. Perfect blending of flavors. The crudo was equally well-received. An ample pile dressed up in the center of a shallow bowl, with plenty of olive oil, as opposed to being slices merely laid flat on a plate. Fortunately I'll be back in the area in a week. can't wait to return!

I have supported The Landing Sushi Bar & Grill for years. I order takeout several times a week,…read moredine in regularly, and have brought friends, family, and out-of-town guests here for countless celebrations. Unfortunately, after a series of repeated mistakes and an extremely unprofessional interaction, I will no longer be returning. Over the past few weeks, my orders have repeatedly been wrong. Most concerning was ordering a spicy tuna cut roll and discovering after taking a bite that it was actually a spicy scallop roll. That is not a small mistake. Serving the wrong seafood to a customer could create a serious allergy or food safety issue. I drove back to the restaurant to return the order and missed dinner with my family because of their mistake. Since then, the quality has continued to decline. One order was made so excessively spicy it was practically inedible. Another spicy tuna roll arrived filled mostly with cucumbers and low-quality tuna cuts that looked nothing like what has consistently been served in the past. Despite these ongoing issues, I remained polite and continued giving this restaurant opportunities to correct things because I have been a loyal customer for years. I never demanded free food. I simply expected accountability, consistency, and basic professionalism. The final straw happened today. I called to ask if a manager was available after previously being told one would contact me, which never happened. The employee who answered the phone placed me on hold and forgot to mute the line. I then overheard him say: "It's the guy again that always complains and never tips," followed by, "Should we comp his meal or what do we do?" First, speaking about any customer this way is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Second, I tip 25% every time I dine in. I do not believe customers should be criticized for not tipping on takeout orders, especially when those orders have repeatedly been incorrect. Restaurants make mistakes. What matters is how those mistakes are handled. Repeated order errors, no management follow-up, and openly mocking a long-time customer is unacceptable. This restaurant used to be one of our family favorites. It is disappointing to see how far the service and standards have fallen.
