Tuesday night! Place was steady. We were greeted immediately. We sweet seated at a cute lil booth in the corner with a nice view and cute flower on the table. We ordered and received our food. It was hot fresh and delicious! They were attentive to our refills and not overwhelmingly bothering. They offered us complimentary ice cream cones. Ohhhhh I made a classic Yelp mistake. This place was highly rated on Door Dash so I ordered. I didn't have a good feeling because none of it looked very good, but I'm in a hotel so my dinner options were limited. I write this from the throne. The revenge of the not quite chilled enough tuna roll with the weird overly mayonnaised filling that was oozing out from the roll. Sigh. At least my body knows where this sushi belongs even if my brain didn't. read more

We went for a very late dinner after my daughter's performance at around 9 PM so an hour before closing. We were greeted and seated instantly. Someone took our drink order as soon as we sat down we use the restrooms to wash our hands and they were very spacious and clean. The whole establishment was very clean. When we sat back down we ordered they have a buy two specialty rolls and get one free special and we also had happy hour. We ended up trying the crispy rice as the appetizer and we got six rolls. All six rolls tasted delicious. They were well presented, and they all tasted great. The server was on top of refills and making sure that we had everything we needed so the service was also top-notch my daughter really wanted sushi. She has a celebration and I'm glad she chose sushi as we were all satisfied with the service and the food. read more

It was my first time here, we came upon my dad's recommendation that the food was exceptional. We came with a group of 6. We left it up to the chef to serve us our meal and boy, his recommendations did not disappoint. I've never tried so many different types of tuna sashimi. The oysters were superb, the rolls were delicious, uni was fresh, and the sushi (ratio of fish to rice) on point. Not to mention, the yellow tail collar and tuna rib (both cooked) were true delicacies l. Our meal even ended with mochi ice cream. read more

Love Sushi has been my go-to dinner spot in the Thousand Oaks area! The salmon was fresh and generous on the sushi (a.k.a nigiri). I love the crunchy scallop roll, which is just a california roll with fried scallops. You can't go wrong with an avocado maki roll - which was the most generous maki i've ever had. It was filled to the brim with ripe avocado! I am grateful to have a solid sushi spot for the area. The rolls only have six pieces each, but are very big! When ordering online, you can save a bit on pick up orders too which is always nice. read more

I gave Love Sushi 2.5 out of 5 stars. I decided to give them a try because they advertise all-day happy hour sushi, but after this visit, I wouldn't go back. When I walked in, the restaurant was empty, and after trying the food, I can understand why it may not have been busy during my visit. I ordered the spicy tuna roll, and the texture was extremely mushy, which made it difficult to enjoy. I also tried the Superman Burrito. It doesn't contain rice, so it's essentially soy paper wrapped around lettuce and the fillings. It was huge, and while it was just okay, it wasn't something I'd order again. The shumai wasn't what I expected either. If you're used to traditional dim sum-style shumai, this is very different. The house salad was fine, but it was just your standard side salad. Overall, nothing really stood out in a positive way, and I didn't feel the quality matched what I was hoping for. Unfortunately, this just wasn't a place I'd choose to eat at again. read more

We order Togo here a lot and their service is amazing and they are very quick and helpful. Our order is always correct and the food is always consistently correct. I love the bento box with the beef or chicken teriyaki. The fried rice is always perfect and sometimes they throw in some steamed edamame on the house, with a nice note. read more

Love sushi provides really stellar service and a relaxing atmosphere but truly the sushi didn't fully live up to our expectations. Starting with the positives as I noted in the beginning the service was great and the staff are Uber friendly. It's really hard to leave anything under four stars when the owners and workers are just so nice. Everyone was attentive and in good spirits when my friends and I dined in here on a weeknight. The sushi chef even provided us complimentary salmon collar which was unexpected and nice. The vibes are 100% great here and it gives a cozy relaxed vibe inside. I want to support this business as they care about the customers and make you feel welcome. However the sushi was "mid" and with all of the great sushi spots in the 805 it's hard to imagine this one being on the roster for repeat. The menu was extensive and great, plenty of options. But despite us all ordering different things, we had the same conclusion that everything was just okay. The sushi portions were generous but just didn't taste as fresh and buttery as other spots nearby. We tried salmon nigiri, scallop roll, spicy tuna roll, and a few speciality rolls. There was nothing we'd rave home about or rank as 4-5 stars. My friend also tried a cooked dish, sesame chicken and she noted that she'd had better but it wasn't bad. I just think when dropping $80 at a table for dinner you want everyone to leave feeling pretty satisfied with their meal and we were full but not really impressed. Worst sushi experience in Thousand Oaks. My bluefin was literally frozen in the center. They brag about "happy hour all day" but it's clear they're on their way out of business. Ok. This isn't sushi. Vegetable tempura so greasy it was fried in 10w motor oil. Change the oil, it is what makes tempura... tempura. Cucumber Sushis (kappa roll) was laughably rolled together. Paper thin rice, slimy cucumbers. When asked how is everything, sushi chef walked away before a response. Sushi at Ralph's is better. Or gas station. This was awful. read more

From the moment we walked in, the staff acted like we were an inconvenience. No greeting, no smiles, and slow, careless service the whole time. When the food finally came, the sushi was mushy, flavorless, and my bluefin was frozen in the middle. Plates sat uncleared, refills never came, and any question we asked was met with attitude. First time here and it was definitely not the best here. Service was not the greatest. Only one server she was all over the place all on her own. Please do better! Quality of the sushi was not good. Rolls would fall apart it was just all a mess. We waited so long to get our bill because of to go orders that were coming in and server would be distracted. I know it's not her fault but more servers need to be there for help! read more

We Ordered for Appetizers Calamari Rings and Gyoza. Calamari Rings had the Perfect Crunch.. mmm mm.. good the Gyoza my Girlfriend's fave.. sauce with it so good. and also Split a House salad. Love the dressing. Now the Rolls.. We Ordered a Baked Spicy Salmon Roll, Kingster Roll and split a Shrimp Tempura Crunch Roll... All were yummy. my gf's Salmon Roll was douched with Teriyaki sauce just like how she likes it. This restaurant is utterly awful. Based on the reviews alone, I would've never chosen to eat here in a million years but I got invited for someone's birthday. There were so many red flags. Mine and my boyfriend's sodas were completely flat, and my boyfriend said he had a hair on his napkin with the place settings. He said he really questions the cleanliness of a place if they don't even notice something like that. I have a lot of anxiety regarding food, as I am terrified of getting sick. Due to this, I stuck with safer options and ordered a house salad, garlic edamame, and miso soup. Everything was just okay. I did try two pieces from the sushi rolls my boyfriend ordered, they were okay but I was very hesitant to eat any more than that so I decided not to. Two members of our party complained that their food was fishy which disgusted me. You couldn't pay me to return there. read more

August 12, 2025 me and two other people walked in and we were served frozen bluefin, tuna sushi I asked for soy paper on all my rolls and hand rolls and received soy paper when asked to swap for the correct order I was given attitude by the older sushi chef. The aggression is completely uncalled for and needs to be fixed. It doesn't matter about cultural barriers. Do not go to this place. Hikari sushi in Westlake is way better and they're open till 1030. read more

My wife got the Hawaiian Poke Salad, and I got the Muzen Sashimi Roll. They tasted fine but portion was on the smaller side. My sashimi roll was basically a partially deconstructed spicy tuna roll with sashimi pieces on the side instead of on top of the roll. Got CA roll and crunch roll for my kids, both of which tasted standard.

The stuffed squid was good but I would ask for the eel sauce on the side because the crab mix is also sweet, so the sweetness can be overpowering. I don't recommend the ikura bc of the heavy sake marinade but you may feel differently. The ikura has been the one and only item I wouldn't get again. Everything else has been fantastic. This is an entirely different experience to sugarfish. Shibuya is willing to make dishes to your taste, so if you don't want something on a particular dish or you want a special dish not on the menu, just tell your server. Everything can be customized which I really like. Sugarfish by comparison is extremely simple and utilitarian and has a factory quality to it that Shibuya is the complete opposite to. They really shouldn't be compared. If I'm low on time and didn't plan well enough, sugarfish is a reliable spot to get adequate sushi without the preplanning and waiting, but shibuya is a superior experience, imho. Happy eating!

From the beginning to the end of our visit, we never received water. When we asked for wasabi and ginger, the waitress told us that they would bring it when the sushi arrived. We repeated our request for ginger, but the answer was exactly the same. When the roll finally arrived, it looked like someone might have started eating it yesterday and they simply decided to give it another chance today. It wasn't really sliced so much as it was spread across the plate. On the very edge of the plate there was a tiny bit of ginger and a tiny bit of wasabi. Both looked like they might have been borrowed from someone else's plate. When I looked at the waitress questioningly, she explained that if we wanted more wasabi and ginger, we could pay extra and they would bring more. I checked the rating later and somehow it has four stars. I'm giving it two stars -- and only because the sushi chef was very polite when we arrived and the place was clean inside.

The sushi chefs were 2 Hispanic men and the reason why I mention this was because I feel like most of my rolls had this "chili powder" that resembled Tajin on my rolls and that's what they called "spicy" half my rolls were supposed to be spicy tuna but the tuna itself was not spicy they just had this Tajin-like powder on top and to me it wasn't spicy at all and I also felt like it made those 2/3 rolls taste bland. My bf loves deep fried rolls so he opted to try the magic mtn and he loved it and I think I enjoyed the spider roll the most. Even the spicy tuna on the crispy rice was just regular tuna with no spice. We still thought it tasted good but we will maybe give it another try with different rolls next time. They have a punch card if you spend $50+ after I think 10 you get a free speciality roll. The chefs gave us a parting remark and we thanked them upon leaving for lunch. Our server was a little more cold but kudos to her for handling the whole restaurant by herself in an efficient manner as our food came out quick and we got water refills and she checked in on us while serving 5/6 other tables all by herself.

That being said, DH and I have been discussing recently how much we miss the kinds of places that used to have great style in their decor. Theme restaurants are more rare these days than they ought to be. They have tables everywhere and a fountain machine and some unique teas I got to try, like their lavender tea! This was beautiful and so amazing. I can't wait to come back and grab another ice cream espresso from here and maybe try one of their sandwiches. Yum!

Frankly, the terrible presentation wasn't the issue, it was the chef's lack of experience and practicality. You should be able to eat an egg roll in one bite. He should know that. When I asked him how he thought I should eat it, he said I should scoop it out with my fingers. Wow. Really? When I asked for a small spoon from the waitress, it never came. For a moment we had the feeling that the evening would be great. The place looked very clean and even a little bit glamorous, so we thought we had chosen a really good spot. Unfortunately, our impressions changed as soon as we started ordering. We ordered a salad, a sushi roll, and monkfish liver. The monkfish liver tasted so "authentic" that it felt like it had just been taken straight out of a can. It definitely did not taste like something that had been prepared in that kitchen. From the beginning to the end of our visit, we never received water. When we asked for wasabi and ginger, the waitress told us that they would bring it when the sushi arrived. We repeated our request for ginger, but the answer was exactly the same. When the roll finally arrived, it looked like someone might have started eating it yesterday and they simply decided to give it another chance today. It wasn't really sliced so much as it was spread across the plate. On the very edge of the plate there was a tiny bit of ginger and a tiny bit of wasabi. Both looked like they might have been borrowed from someone else's plate. When I looked at the waitress questioningly, she explained that if we wanted more wasabi and ginger, we could pay extra and they would bring more. I checked the rating later and somehow it has four stars. I'm giving it two stars -- and only because the sushi chef was very polite when we arrived and the place was clean inside.

The service during the actual meal was very minimal, though, and nothing special I guess since they weren't cooking in front of us. The meal itself was good! They loaded up the spicy tuna on the small crispy rice pieces and that was really tasty. Also, the price wasn't bad, given that they also have a happy hour as well. All in all, not the best sushi place in the world, but not bad either. The rolls were pretty good, and the appetizer/ smaller starter was even better. Worth trying at least once.

Ramen is too salty and cup noodles is better. We dined at the sushi section but there is a Teppan section we didn't try.

The sushi chef said at 5 he would get additional people in but we were seated promptly. We looked at the menu which had all the favorites. My son was still unsure of his affinity for sushi so we ordered him teriyaki chicken(can't go wrong). My mom and I ordered some spicy rolls as well as some nagiri. Chef brought out beautifully plated rolls filled with fish which was absolutely delicious. The unagi was the right amount of sweet and cooked. The yellowtail was unbelievably delicious. The only thing that stopped us ordering more was my son's teriyaki came out sizzling in a pan with vegetables and a large rice bowl. He ate his meal but was curious about our continued mmming and ahhhing over each roll and tried some. He really liked it which says a lot for a picky eater. In the end we spent $100 and it was worth every penny. I only wish I lived closer to enjoy more regularly. Next time I visit my mom I know where we are going for sushi!
