Poke bowl with brown rice and Brown Rice with Quinoa with 3 Protein
Tiffany T.

I ordered a poke bowl for delivery with 3 proteins, brown rice and quinoa, and many toppings. It was really good! I loved having so many options that I could add to the bowl, make it taste good, and be worth the price. For the ingredients, the salmon and tuna were fresh, and the flavors were great. I loved the balance of sweet and savory sauces with the soft and crispy textures. The only thing I wished would've been better was the rice and quinoa base. I didn't really notice much quinoa, so I was a little disappointed. Hopefully they can add more next time. Overall, I recommend Poki DC! If you don't want sushi rolls and pieces, a poke bowl from here is the way to go.

Poki bowl! Delicious :)
Zoya F.

Poki DC is the best poki in the DC area. So many options for the bowl! I ordered a three-topping bowl and relished every bite of the seafood, egg-avocado salad, and other fresh, delicious ingredients. Like every other restaurant in this chain, this shop is clean and offers friendly, efficient service. Don't forget to check in through Yelp for the free miso soup or mochi. This shop is right across from AMC Rio, which offers a ton of movie options.

Poki Bowl with shrimp and tofu (protein), yum yum and siracha mayo (sauce) 12.21.22
Carroll N.

12.21.22 First time visiting and I absolutely loved my Donsuri bowl, which included the following in this order: -Steamed Rice (base - you can also do half and half) -Sukiyaki Beef (protein) -Kale, Seaweed Salad, Crabmeat Salad, Corn, and Cucumber (up to 5 toppings) -Yum Yum and Eel Sauce -Rice Puff and Onion Crisp (Crunchy toppings) It was a great combo with great flavor albeit the beef was slightly chewy. I had to ask for a knife to cut it up. I also purchased the Shrimp Tempura, which had a nice texture. It came with ponzu sauce, which I didn't enjoy because the vinegar was overpowering. I asked for soy sauce, which I liked much better with it. The staff who prepared my order were friendly and helpful when I asked for their recommendations. They offer a loyalty rewards program, buy 10 get one free. Orders can be placed online or via text. I really enjoyed my lunch even though it was a bit pricy. I would love to return and next time will try the Chicken Karaage.

Spicy tonkatsu ramen.
Vickson L.

Just ordered they spicy tonkatsu ramen and I can said I officially tried one of the worst ramen. 1. Soup taste like water added instant noodles packets. Water is just warm. I just ordered like 5mins ago. 2. Only fishball and few garnish. 3. They didn't even provide chopsticks and napkins even though I ordered takeout. One of the worst ramen for $18, this is the last time. Please serve only Poki at least that is eatable.

I don't go here often because I think it is a bit pricey for a small bowl but the food is good. It is conveniently located in Rio area. Small place with few tables. Service was good. My husband and I got the poki bowls. I got the shrimps and tofu in my bowl while my husband got tuna which he said did not taste fresh, so that was disappointing.

Esha K.

The concept is pretty cool, you pick your base, I chose soba noodles, then you add toppings, sauces, crispy toppings and protein. It was the tempura shrimp that sold me into trying this place so that's what I went with. The flavors and freshness of everything was excellent, but when I bit into the shrimp and saw they had not cleaned (deveined) it, I was grossed out. That ruined the experience for me. The cost is also pretty high, but I would have overlooked that had the shrimp been clean. I do plan to try the grilled salmon though and hope for a better experience because the rest of my bowl was delicious!

Yellow tables that block entrance but you can place your order here!

I was in the area last week and decided to grab poke for lunch with my sister. Their ingredients are always so fresh and service is awesome. There's currently only take-out and delivery options for food but everyone here is well social distanced, wearing masks and hand sanitizing. Would recommend and will be returning!

Poki DC has been popping up everywhere and Gaithersburg is no different. I do have to say that the price of Poki has been creeping up and it's now not unusual to see $17, $18, $19 bowls when you are used to a $11 bowl on the menu. A bit difficult to swallow the price but I do have to say that the toppings here are pretty fresh. Nothing out of the ordinary so I'll have to stick to a 4 but I do think that PoKi DC is one of the better solid chains. Be sure to check in for a free miso soup!

This is someplace you go when craving sushi without the actual pieces of sushi. Think sushi ingredients served Chipotle style, in convenient packaging...hence, poke. The dish (style) itself is Hawaiian. The establishment is clean and well organized, especially the area where you place orders (and the bathroom). I love a clean bathroom. They have both plain and marinated versions for the fish (thank goodness), because it's always nice to have options :) The veggies are crisp, fresh, and perfectly seasoned (when called for). The sauces are the best touch, especially the Yuzu Jalapeño and Toasted Sesame. They offer canned and bottled beverages, and the seating area is comfortable. It's not huge, but it's not small either. Overall, a solid choice when you want a bowl of goodness :)

2 protein bowl on bed of zucchini

My 5 star may be influenced by the fact that I LOVE sushi Lol. I got the Poki bowl and the first step is to pick the base, instead of sushi rice, I picked the Zucchini noodles and organic spring mix 50/50. Next I picked the spicy tuna and raw Salmon. Then I went crazy on the topping since is comes with the price and you can have all if you wanted to. for the sauce I picked the siracha mayo and ponzu and topped with garlic crisp and roasted seaweed. Let me tell you...I ate every yummy morsel! All so fresh and tasty and the staff were friendly. The place was clean and the location was perfect. Took a walk around the lake at RIO. A perfect experience!

Teriyaki bowl
Steve W.

Excellent! Really enjoyed it, and I'm not the kind of person that eats the raw sushi. I had the beef teriyaki, and loved the ability to choose from all of the healthy vegetables, brown rice, quinoa, etc to add to it. They need to come to Harbourview Suffolk, Virginia! They would be a big hit.

We love this place! The salmon here is always fresh every time we have gotten it and the greens are also always fresh. Love the variety and the concept of just making your own bowl and the fact that you can get as many toppings on it as you want. We almost always get the salad bc we fill up on the toppings but their rice options and doodles have also been really good. I love the variety of toppings they have so everyone will for sure get what they want! The service has also always been really good. Lastly, they have fun Asian snacks on sale as well and it's really always a fun time going here. So definitely give them a try! I totally would go here again for sure!

Their customer service is excellent, too! The food is delicious and they prepare it so nicely. I enjoy ordering their rice platters with one of their sides, plus boba, which is really good! Also, I like how much detail they put into packaging your order -- their containers are sealed with a sleeve with their branding and placed neatly into a reusable tote bag complete with utensils. I know this seems small, but it's all in the details and presentation. Plus, who doesn't love a reusable tote bag? I'd take that over an over abundance of plastic bags that can be wasteful. I think at times this place is overlooked because of The Spot food hall that is located on the opposite side of Rockville Town Center, which is a shame because this store deserves a lot more customers based on their excellent customer service and great food. Overall, I've enjoyed every dish I've ordered here and would highly recommend this place!

My only complaint about the self-service kiosk is that sometimes you can't see the additional charges on items when ordering poke. A worker brings the food to the table for dine-ins. I ordered the poke and it was good, however I think they put too much rice. Not the best poke I've had, but it does the job. The food hall itself is very clean and pretty empty even on a weekend. I would rate it a 3.5/5 but will round it up to 4/5.

Today, I went with my friend and asked the female worker what a "Hawaiian snow cone" was. She mentioned a topping, so I asked further, "What kind of topping?" She replied that it was condensed milk. I said "Oh," and ordered a small shaved ice. As she handed me my order, she looked at her male coworker and said, "Es por eso que no me gusta servir a las morenas." (Note: Morenas can mean brunette, but in other contexts, it refers to dark-skinned people. I am a Black woman.) I didn't understand what was said, so I thanked her and left. However, my friend, who speaks Spanish, overheard the remark and said "Muchas gracias" to let them know she understood. The male worker then smiled at us. As we walked away, my friend explained what the female worker had said, which translates to, "That's why I don't like serving dark-skinned women." Shocked, I decided to go back and address the situation. When we returned, the woman refused to come to the window, so my friend asked the male worker to get her. When she finally came out, I calmly asked her what I had done to upset her. She claimed she didn't understand English. At that point, I had my friend translate the conversation. I told her I was shocked that she would say something like that in front of a customer. I explained that we live in a diverse community, and it's upsetting to hear such remarks, especially when I had done nothing wrong. Her first excuse was that there was a language barrier, which was why she made the comment. I responded that the interaction had lasted only two minutes, during which I asked just two questions. I explained that I understood her point, but asked if she realized how her words could be taken to mean she didn't like serving dark-skinned people, not just people who don't speak Spanish. She then claimed she was joking. I told her I didn't find it funny, and I didn't think anyone else would either. You shouldn't speak negatively about a customer in front of them--if you're going to make such a joke, say it when they're gone. Her next excuse was that she didn't remember saying anything. At that point, I walked away because it was clear the conversation was going nowhere. I didn't record the encounter because I wanted to have an open discussion and give her a chance to learn from this. However, it felt like a lost cause. To have her never once apologize or say, "I didn't mean for my comment to make you feel this way" shows that she simply doesn't care. I hope this experience makes her think twice about what she says in front of people. So, unless you are a light-skinned Spanish speaker, I strongly recommend you avoid this place.

Yes, it's still a tasty bite, yet it's well worth studying the menu to understand ingredients and roll presentation to avoid disappointment. My previous review of this place remains unchanged- Coastal Flats is a reliable source of quality seafood dining. A bit expensive imo, but ok for business expense accounts and special events- like having a lobster roll craving. FYI- it's reasonably possible to make your own lobster roll at home with little effort and a better traditional result and price. Buy frozen lobster meat ( tail and claw) from a good source like Cameron's Seafood. No cooking or picking needed. Season and butter to taste while gently warming, and serve in a toasted (or not) split hot dog roll. Yeah, you can add Old Bay, but that is not for everyone. Keep it pure and simple.

The atmosphere was fun, the drinks were good, and everything was going well until the last few minutes before closing. Around 1:55 AM, security came into our karaoke room and informed us that the venue was closing. One member of our group politely explained that we were in the middle of our final song and asked if we could have the remaining few minutes to finish it, since they officially close at 2. Security agreed and told us they would return in five minutes. We thanked them and immediately began wrapping things up. Unfortunately, only a minute or two later, a staff member entered the room, told us we needed to "get the f#ck out," and began shutting down the karaoke equipment while we were still finishing the song. When someone in our group respectfully commented that we didn't have to speak like that to us, the response was essentially, "I don't give a f#ck, I want to go home." As we were leaving, we also heard another staff member shouting at customers to get out, including comments such as "Goodbye, adios, whatever f#cking language you speak." Whether intended as a joke or not, it came across as unprofessional and unnecessarily hostile. To be clear, we completely understand that businesses have closing times and that employees want to go home at the end of a long shift. We were already preparing to leave and had no issue with the venue closing. The problem wasn't being asked to leave...it was the way it was handled. What had been a genuinely enjoyable night ended on a very negative note because of the attitude and language directed toward customers. It's disappointing because we had a great time otherwise and have enjoyed visiting in the past. Hopefully management addresses this, because a little professionalism and courtesy in those final few minutes would have left us looking forward to returning instead of reconsidering whether we will.
