Mediocre poke with miserable sizing. I experimented with the portions of each of the bowls and the volume of food was equivalent to each other. The fish was not the freshest and the shrimp was flavorless. I am not reviewing Poki Bomb for the quality of food, but rather I would like to share my final experience at Poki Bomb. I stopped by one afternoon for lunch and I decided to get a scoop of salmon. The tray was running low and there were about 3 or 4 pieces in left. Since it was only a few pieces of salmon left, the employee was scooping the rest to put in my bowl. The manager saw and rushed over to ask why he was giving me two scoops. He explained how there were only a few pieces left...so she proceeded to take away the trash with only ONE piece of salmon back to the kitchen! ONE PIECE OF SALMON. She was so cheap she could not give up one piece of fish. It looked really bad on her part considering the fact that her employee was still serving me. To the employee that served me, I just want to say you're doing a great job and please show this to your manager because yelp review because what she did was pathetic. If I can recommend somewhere with better food and management, I would like to recommend an ice dispenser attached to a soda machine. read more

Use to come here a lot because it was close to where I worked. Recently a coworker got take out from there for everyone at work and when we received our food, the portion was half of what it is suppose to be. I called to restaurant to let them know the situation, while the person who picked up the phone went to get a manager, I can hear them over the phone saying the manager doesn't want to speak to me. The manager made the new girl come back and talk to me without offering any solutions to the problem I am calling about. Its a good poki bowl place but i wish the salad was better. They use iceburg? type of lettus. I like the places that have kale or spinach mix, it works better with sashimi. Also they dont mix your fish with sauce by hand in a glove like other places. The guy just placed everything all over the place and squeezed sauce everywhere. I think he was new. Lol. Best Poki place in SGV. They have tons of options for a reasonable price! You even get a free miso soup with check-in. They don't mix the bowl for you which I appreciate since I like to mix it myself and try different ingredients separately while I eat (pet peeve of mine?). Staff is friendly, but the only downside is that portions depend on your server. My husband's server was more generous with the toppings. Please standardize toppings with your servers! Honestly I was really excited to try this place but was not impressed at all. First impression, girl at counter was not friendly at all. The fish was chopped into such small pieces that you can't really enjoy it. They don't mix the sauces with the topping so it soaks into the rice leaving the rest of the bowl slightly bland even though the taste of the sauces were good. Plus side is they don't charge extra for avocado. Unagi bowl was a wait so if you are in a hurry, don't go for that. My daughter who loves poki and is not picky at all, didn't finish her bowl. Decided to check this place out for lunch based on the positive reviews and also since I was nearby. Located right off the 10, same plaza as Del Taco and Boba Bear, easy parking. No line when I went in but saw a few people dining in. Like most Poke places, it's the build your own bowl: you pick your base of either white or brown rice, salad, or half and half, then number of protein scoops, sauces, and toppings. I opted for the two scoops of salmon and tuna with half brown rice and salad for $8. What I like about this place is that they don't limit you on the amount of toppings you want in your bowl or charge you for extra sauce like some other places. Even thought they don't have a wide variety of toppings, they have the basics which to me is good enough because you don't need too much when eating raw fish, in my opinion. The real plus for me is that the first scoop of avocado is included! Extra scoop does cost you, but all I need is one! Not going to lie, I judge poke places on whether or not if avocado is included. If you do, there's a good chance I might not come back. I love avocado. Overall, it tastes pretty good, fresh fish. Good spot for lunch. I would come back. read more

Bad service happen once can let it slide but when it happen again you really doubt if you should support such business they need to fix the problem. Order on Uber for pickup says it is ready to pick up and since know they lag it (don't know why slow cause all they need is scooping stuff that are orepare already) sometimes go like 10-15 minutes later than stated time. Walk in said order for Uber and the guy just say not ready but app say ready to pickup ok wait awhile but while you're there they work on the in person order first WTF I actually paid for my meal already and I waiting for you to be done with all the person in line first before you work on my order?? I got really excited when I found out that there would be a poke place so close to my house, but the disappointment was overwhelming. I got a four scoop bowl to see how much food I'd get based on all the reviews about the smaller portions, and man, I'm pretty sad about that hailing true. I guess the smaller scoops are balanced out by the bigger size of the cubes of protein, but I got 1 scoop of scallops in my predominately salmon bowl, and I couldn't tell when I had already finished all the scallops after two spoons into eating my bowl. I'm also not impressed with how they dressed it, since the sauce ends up dribbling into the bottom of the bowl, but on the up side at least the fish seemed fresh and didn't have a lingering fishy taste. Unfortunately I could barely taste any of the sauce, even after mixing it into the rice, which was cold and dry. The overall experience of eating my poke bowl left me kind of empty and feeling cheated out of all the flavors of a typical bowl. Considering the competition, there are definitely better places out there that deliver on portion sizes and incorporating flavor, as well as serving everything on a good base. Ordered through delivery and as stated on previous reviews, they did not follow additional comments/instructions. I wanted extra wasabi/sauce on the side and put in additional instructions. These instructions were listed on top of the receipt that they attached to my order, however they did not follow it. Disappointed. Taste was ok.
