Worst poke bowl I've had in a long time! Stodgy rice, old tuna, lacking sauce, and underwhelming overall presentation.
Sara G.

I'm so disappointed! I've come to this location specifically for months straight because I was confident it was the best location in town- always so friendly, fresh and clean... but suddenly the quality of service, freshness of fish, and overall cleanliness of the restaurant have decreased substantially! The manager had his paperwork sprawled out all over one of the tables, he was yelling across the restaurant at four new hires who were more concerned with their own conversation than the customer in front of them, and the food stations were unkept - everything mixed together and bits and pieces between the separated sections. I usually eat at the location quietly, but I felt the need to say something to the team about how uncomfortable they were making their customers. Instead of owning up to their poor quality of service, they teamed up against me and bullied me out of the restaurant, honestly they should all be fired! They need to get their shit together!! Never going back :(

$27 for this??

Just paid $27 for the smallest poke bowl I've ever seen. I got salad as the base and they're being stingy on lettuce??? I used to order from here all of the time, but clearly they're gone down hill. Save your money -and order go somewhere else.

5 Star ***** Service "SHOUT OUT" to Christian for helping me put together my first poke bowl at Pokeworks! I was craving sushi for lunch and decided to try this place. When I first walked in...I can't lie, I was intimated looking all the choices...LOL Anyway, I asked about the bowls and how to put one together and Christian explained the setup what to add etc. He even let me taste the spicy tuna which I loved!! Nice change from the usual lunch suspects. I'll be back to try another bowl to see if I can top the deliciousness I just experienced today. Support local and let's keep their place alive and well.

The best poke place in town!

The staff is nice and the food is fresh. The large leaves me really full so the regular should be fine. I always make my own and throw in everything that's not fried. The torch option is nice for people who are scared of raw fish. Poké places have popped up all over town and have come and gone in the last few years, but this is my happiest poké find.

Eh good but not as good as the Yale location. Food tasted fine even though I was a bit reluctant to eat it. I tried not to eat the half part of my bowl where the guys shirt kept sweeping over my food. It grossed me out thinking it's the same shirt he goes to the bathroom with. Yuck touching my food.. when he grabs the toppings or items that's further away he reaches over on a way that his shirt sweeps over part of my bowl and touches the food. I kept staring at his shirt but I don't think he even noticed that it sweeped over and touched the food multiple times:( the drink options here aren't as good as then other location. Their bathroom door is also not fixed and has a sign that says to knock since the lock isn't working properly...

A coworker recommended this place and was excited to try it. When I got there the place was nice and it had a good amount of people which game me hopes. Once I got my food and began to eat it, all the hopes disappeared. The food was bland and very sticky. The rice would clump and soak any flavor the bowl had. I wasn't able to enjoy even half of it with any good bites. It was since to try but probably won't come back

I honestly love all Pokeworks locations. This one has plenty of room, very clean and very bright inside. I always love their options for the poke bowls. I normally get regular size with sushi rice and that comes with 2 meats...it's very filling. They have several sauces to choose from, toppings, and extras. Most are free, except for avocado is extra. Service was good, employees were friendly... Great either option for "fast" food.

Great lunch spot, they only take card now. Friendly staff and fresh ingredients. If I heard "kale noodles" I would pass, but I saw them, tried them and LOVE them. Going to pass on the spicy tuna and get regular and add my own spice. Taste like there is almost a citrus tinge in there, which I a sure most people love.

We ordered Modern Caesar Salad with chicken and Lemon Chicken and Farro soup. We're glad we shared the salad because it's huge serving. It's delicious!! The ingredients are fresh and we both love the crunchy texture in each bite and the dressing is amazing! It's very filling! The soup was to die for! The lemonie taste is just right. And, he suggested Sweetgreen because he said it's one of his favorite spots. I agreed, to try it out since this was my first time, my friend suggested me to get the Guacamole Greens salad with blacken chicken. Everything was fresh and organic plant based ingredients. Also, they let you sample your protein ,if you're not sure which one to pick. Our server was a very friendly guy, and was knowledgeable about the ingredients and all the products. However, ever since this Sweetgreen opened up in the post oak area, I've become a frequent customer. My favorite is the shroomami bowl and my husband's favorite is anything with garlic steak. I love that they use mostly organic ingredients and everything is always very fresh. Also really appreciate their giant board of ingredients and where they're sourced from, always fun to read. My only complaint is that if I'm really hungry, one bowl doesn't fill me up all the way. I usually end up snacking on some fruits at home, not a biggie. Nowadays, I usually order on the app for pick up, and sometimes we'll still dine in. The reason is they've run out of roasted mushrooms a few times when I order in the store, so everyone else's food is ready while I'm still waiting for my roasted mushrooms in the shroomami store. Not fun, so ordering online I know for sure I don't need to wait for my roasted mushrooms! Now that they've become seed-oil free, my husband and I are even bigger fans. Highly recommend sweetgreen for healthy, clean food!

Same great food I have had the privilege of enjoying at so many locations in the Houston area now…read more However, today was definitely a step way above the rest. The assistant manager, Matthew, at the Post Oak location pulled out all the stops for my friend and I. This was my friend's first time with any Local Food restaurant. I can't say enough good things about our experience from A to Z. As has been the case many times, there was a jam packed house with an atmosphere that made you feel like you were the only ones there. Awesome paradox. If you've never been to a local food restaurant you might be missing out.

The staff at the front were very helpful and eager to explain the menu options. I opted for the taco salad and added a side cup of broccoli cheddar soup, which was vegan. I also ordered hot tea. Between the salad, soup, and tea, I felt full pretty quickly--likely thanks to the warm soup and hot drink. The salad was good overall; I especially enjoyed the tempeh mix with the taco shell. There were a lot of pickled onions, which I liked, though I didn't end up finishing the leafy salad portion. The soup was the standout for me--it was very filling and comforting. The tea was also well done and came with a full tray of lemon, honey, and other fixings, which was a nice touch. The location itself was warm and cozy, making it a great spot for a cool winter Sunday afternoon in Houston.

A very cute Saturday afternoon tea experience!…read more My mom was in town and we decided to grab an afternoon reservation for two. The restaurant is adorable decked out in flowers. We were seated at a perfect booth along the windows. We upgraded our afternoon tea to $52pp to include a glass of Prosecco - worth it! The service was kind and attentive. We loved the variety of sandwiches and scones. We both enjoyed our teas as well but I'd personally love to see a few fewer fruity flavors on the menu. I've only done afternoon tea in London a handful of times, but one thing I've enjoyed there is being able to replenish the tea or cakes upon request and try a variety throughout the experience, but at Little Hen it is a fixed menu. My mom made reservations a week prior via online and even called on the phone day of to confirm if we could have a booth (also put it in the notes online) since it's much easier to be a booth for a baby with us. When we arrived the place was crowded with customers and the staff said the booth was not available because they had bigger parties that needed it more than us, which we argued that they agreed to give us a booth prior via phone call that same day before we came over. The manger came out and said she can promise us next time we come we can have a booth for our next reservation which is ridiculous (cause I'm not coming back when I'm latest here) or we can sit at a small table that's already available . We're already here. We already paid $10 for valet parking. So they sat us at a very small table. Which was a tight squeeze with my baby in her car seat on a chair and the other table and the waitress who was always going between us. The other option was having the baby near the door but people were coming in and out and I didn't like that idea either. Just a heads up that they don't have a changing table which is usually not a big deal cause I can usually go to my SUV to change my baby, but I didn't realize it would be valet/ street parking since my mom chose the restaurant. Def a lesson for next time for new parents. The food came out and I was pretty disappointed in my truffle omelette. It was very rubbery and the menu advertised crispy parm, but it definitely wasn't the kind of crispy I was imagining. The rose pancakes were okay. Not something I'd go out of my way for, but the crab eggs Benedict was tasty. Potatoes were standard. Chicken and waffle was alright. Chicken tenders tasted like chicken tenders you could get from the freezer aisle and waffles were alright. I'd say the pancakes were slightly better. Had to ask for water cause they never brought it out for us and the glass was never refilled. Overall I wouldn't come back unfortunately. You're paying for the aesthetics and not for tasty food.
