The guy that rung us up did not smile, barely talked and spoke to us as if he didn't want to be there, orrrr even wanted us there. The food is good.. but not worth how we were treated. I usually am not a fan of poke, I think it's because I previously had bad experiences but this ~pick your own poke style ~ is up my valley and definitely change my perspective on poke. I got the Yuzu Ponzu Salmon and my bf got the Umami Ahi. My yuzu ponzu was much more ~summer vibes ~ and my bf umami ahi was definitely more nutty & sweeter flavor. I definitely steal a lot more of his bites because I love the sauce they put with the umami ahi, next time I'll try that :) I believe the gentleman that helps us when we came in might have been the manager, maybe, or a very enthusiastic worker because he definitely hyped it up for me. I rarely leave reviews, but when a place is this disappointing, I feel like I have to. I'm a huge poke bowl person and have tried poke from all over Texas. This is by far the worst one I've had. I usually order a large bowl, but the protein portions were incredibly small. They use the tiniest scoops for the meat, and there isn't much variety when it comes to toppings either. The price-to-portion ratio is just not worth it, especially with how little protein you get. I honestly think they'd get more business if they adjusted their portion sizes. To make matters worse, the rice was undercooked. Some bites were soft, while others were crunchy, so I had to eat around it. This isn't your average poke place. It's below average. If you're desperate for poke, maybe, but I'd rather spend the extra time and money driving somewhere farther away than leave disappointed again. Tried the new salmon poke bomb. Flavor was okay but was very disappointed that it was not a crispy shell. They're premade and packaged so the shell was soggy. Also I ordered a Musubi and the spam was DRY. Maybe from sitting under the heating lamp but it looked over cooked. Couldn't even finish it. They used to be so good. It seems like this is a common rating when it comes to Uber Eats orders. I have ordered Pokeworks via Uber Eats multiple times, and the first few times it was great. Then one day, I ordered and they gave me the wrong sauce (no big deal). I order from them again, and again they send the wrong sauce and the miso soup was gross. I tell myself, well maybe it's a bad day for their soup, and I give up on ever getting the right sauce. Finally, I order from them today - excited because I'm craving it and decide that even if the sauce is wrong I don't mind. The food arrives and the miso soup was not wrapped properly (they package it in these cardboard/paper bowls, and usually wrap in plastic wrap) so it leaked into the bag causing the soup to leak into my bowl (which was also not packaged correctly) and into my spam masubi. This also caused the bag to rip, so my apartment leasing office was the covered in miso soup and half of my bowl. You can imagine I wasn't super excited to clean that up when all I wanted was to relax after a long holiday weekend and eat from a place I USED TO enjoy. I was able to eat my spam masubi, the spam was hard as a rock and basically crumbled into ash when I bit into it. I have been holding off on writing a review to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but this was just ridiculous. Don't order Uber Eats from here, I would even go as far as saying you shouldn't order for pickup from here either. Idk about in store service, but I assume it's the same employees who make the to-go orders, and if that's the case I would avoid this place altogether. read more

I usually get a poke bowl to go but I decided to stick around since they got their new poke bowls for their dining concept. I also got to try out an Ube/Taro Boba drink, so refreshing. Do not recommend. Ordered through uber eats and didn't receive my order. Then the quality of food was terrible. Rice wasn't cooked, hard and crunchy. Service was also awful. Called and they tried making excuses on why they made only one bowl. The receipt, ticket, clearly says two bowls. On top of that, you can just look at the price and obviously see that one bowl doesn't cost that much. They don't offer enough to resolve the issue either. It's expensive enough and these people don't care about their jobs. Do not order from here. read more

The volcano bowl and kids bowl was great. I was there early and they told me the ticket doesn't print until 15 minutes before. It was 1316 and my order was schedule for 1330. I wait while they make it. The girl staples the bag and waves it at me. I go to her and she says "Stephanie?" I said no. Sandra. So I sit back down while they help two more customers who just walked in. The supervisor comes out and says this is your bag. I said the girl said Stephanie. She read the employee's name. She doesn't know how to read the receipt or who she works with. It was terrible. Every time. Last time my order wasn't ready but they seemed busy so I let it slide. This time they had me waiting for over 20 minutes for a scheduled order because the girl didn't read the receipt correctly. read more

Actually, the poke doesn't work. After finally deciding what to order, my sister ordered the spicy ahi bowl, but then we were told that they were "out of edamame," which is a staple ingredient in the poke bowl. They even checked in the back and still told us that they were completely out of edamame. It's not our fault that the restaurant ran out of one of their ingredients, so we asked if we could substitute the edamame for some avocado, and the staff member said No. Then, my cousin ordered the special ahi tuna bowl but it came with cilantro, and she wasn't a fan of cilantro, and kindly asked if they could leave out the cilantro as all the ingredients (minus the fish) are separated to begin with, and the staff member said no omissions or changes. I don't see what the big deal is to leave out an ingredient if it's not already mixed in, but whoever is running the place needs to re-train their employees because this type of situation could potentially lead to a lawsuit one day if someone has a food allergy to cilantro. With much distaste, we paid for our meal and went outside to eat it. After having been adamant about not having any edamame, midway into our meal, they somehow magically found some edamame and brought it to our table, but honestly, we were almost already done with our meal by the time they brought it out. Simply because of terrible customer service, I will not be returning to Pokeworks...left such a distaste in my mouth. The staff were unfriendly, and very inflexible with us wanting to customize our order. The musubi's were not fresh and pre-made. The rice used to put in the poke bowls were dry and could've been softer or made more fresh...I wouldn't recommend their bowls, as nothing really tasted fresh. read more

I've been craving poke since returning from my Hawaiian summer vacation. Stopped by this place while running around town. This concept is similar to Chipotle, Piada, Subway in that you pick your main item and then select all the add-ins. I'd say this is the same as U'maki where you make your own sushi burritos/bowls. The difference is that this place will toss your proteins in your choice of sauce(s) before adding it back to your bowl. With the exception of the spicy salmon and spicy ahi, which are cubed and mixed in spicy mayo already, the others are just cubes of protein waiting to be mixed. I enjoyed my bowl but this isn't like Hawaiian-style poke where the poke varieties are pre-marinated. read more

Came here on a Monday night at 5:30. They were out of ahi tuna but did not charge me to upgrade to kale noodles. I got the two protein bowl with spicy tuna and salmon for $12.50. I haven't been in a while and had the craving while at work so I chose this location. The parking is horrible for this small strip center it almost makes you want to choose another option. The worker was nice who made my bowl even though she really didn't hear me that well and I had to repeat myself a few times. I did see another worker cleaning up by the drink station so that was a good look. As far as the food, I got the regular bowl build your own style. I used to get half rice half kale noodles but they said they no longer carry kale noodles but instead have ramen noodles. What a disappointment. Kale noodles and ramen noodles are not in the same tax bracket for this meal (just kidding). I ended up getting just rice, spicy salmon and spicy tuna. Neither one tasted seasoned and I feel like usually my bowl is packed with flavor and toppings but it was pretty small this time. I went back and fourth on this place a few times because while I really enjoyed the food, that's about all I enjoyed. Food- I got the Ahi Tuna poke bowl with added ginger, mango slices, avocado, sesame seeds, special sauce and seaweed pieces. The bowl was very good. The ahi tuna was very fresh and had a really nice flavor. The added mango gave it a little sweetness while the ginger gave it a little tanginess, so it was a really nice combo. You get a generous portion too (I got the larger size). When you order your food, it's almost cafeteria style which is interesting but it's pretty cool too because you can choose is you want extra toppings if you'd like. Service/Ambiance- This is what's lacking. I felt that the individuals behind the counter were not friendly at all. It felt like I was at school, in the 5th grade trying to order a not so hot lunch. It wasn't comfortable and it was frustrating because I have never been there before, so I didn't really know how the whole thing worked. There was no enthusiasm at all and I felt like a bother when I had a question. The inside is also cold and just feels off. I understand there's raw fish but the whole place smells like a fish market, which is not appetizing. Great first experience trying out poke! I got the Sweet Shoyu Tofu and added avocado and crab. Who knew a little bowl could have SO much flavor. The wasabi gave it a nice spicy kick. They had a nice selection of toppings and other side items which I can't wait to try them all. read more

It was extremely refreshing to see a fast-casual restaurant actually utilize their mobile order pickup shelves. I mobile ordered, walked in and grabbed my order and left in a matter of seconds. I cant tell you the number or restaurants I walk into and wait like a fool by the mobile order shelves only to realize they are not putting anything out there and you need to actually speak to someone that has your order ready behind the counter. First and last time I will be coming here. Staff was nice but it wasn't busy at all at 6:30pm, they close at 9:00pm and no one wanted to cut more cucumbers; 4 people standing around doing nothing. I had a build your own poké bowl today. My first impression was that the portions were small, especially the scoops of fish, but once I added all the extras like seaweed salad and crab salad, I had a ton of food. I liked that you weren't limited to a certain number of toppings and there weren't a bunch of up-charges (only avocado from what I could see). My bowl was delicious and I was so full by the end. But I especially appreciated the option to order additional sauces and aiolis to mix in for more flavor. I was introduced to the Poke-ee world last year sometime. Yes, I pronounce it like I see it. I had only been to this poke restaurant and another one, so I am new to this concept of eating raw fish. It had dawned on me that poke and sushi could be related, but I didn't put too much thought into that. I really like that this location has more options to choose from especially tofu. The other poke restaurant didn't have tofu. Another thing I like this that there are more options with toppings and you have an option to put minimum or maximum of sauce. I chose the minimum and it still covered all of the tofu and my toppings which were great. I wasn't planning on eating fish the day I arrived, but the girl behind the glass couldn't hear me clearly and added the salmon to my tofu. I was disappointed at this point. I brushed it off and went on with the bright colors of the restaurant and the smiling faces from the workers behind the glass. My friend was eager to sample all the toppings even after getting three proteins, I thought, "wow, he got that from me". I was proud of him. The Sweet chili sauce with tofu - peanuts and lotus chips were the main things that stood out to me in my bowl. Delicious! As soon as I'd seen them add huge scoops of what I asked for, I knew I was at the right place, at the right time. Oh, and the service is outstanding!!! Easily one of the better poke places around town, and great location close to the heights. The flow of customers in line were steady on a Friday night when we were there. Decided to build my own poke bowl - lots of fresh selections and excited to see some different toppings they have compared to other poke places in town. $10.50 for a poke bowl w/ 2 protein choices or $12.95 w/ 3 choices. They also have poke burrito, salad, and noodle options! They do also have their signature bowls. I enjoyed picking from all the options and variety of mix-ins, toppings and flavors you can add that you like. One of the poke places I would definitely recommend. My experience at this location was not good at all. I went for lunch this past Sunday, 7/21/24. This was my 1st time visiting this location and first time trying out the PokeWorks franchise. Both staff members that worked that day did not have any form of customer service. I was not greeted at all like I did when I went to the Kirby location. Both individuals gave the impression that they were not feeling being at work that day. No smiles or direct eye contact just stiff faces. The young man that prepared my food seemed to not be confident in what he was doing. He skimped me on the spicy tuna but did give a decent amount of shrimp. There was not as many choices like the Kirby location I went to that evening. The burrito was nothing like any other sushi burritos I have tried. I was not offered any soy sauce. I didn't even know it was an option til I went to Kirby location that evening and was offered it. It was very light and not filling. I knew I didn't want to give up on the franchise and still was hungry so I made the decision to try the Kirby location and I'm glad I did. They redeemed this location and have made me a happy customer. That was my last time coming to this location. Other than that I will say the Garlic Spam Musubis was surprisingly delicious.
