    The menu and prices

I was thoroughly unhappy with my visit to Poke Sun for the sole fact that I paid $21 for a poke bowl and a bottle of water and was hungry again 2 hours later. I understand that some of the ingredients are not cheap, but I at least need a large enough portion to hold hunger at bay more more than 4 hours. For the $16 poke bowl itself, it was pretty mediocre. I got tuna, pineapple, edamame, ginger, cucumber, and red onions with the house sauce. I was underwhelmed. Additionally, the prices online were not accurate. Had I known the actual prices were $2 more, I probably wouldn't have even gone. 2.5 stars

    Small Spring Mix Bowl

Lunch time shenanigans! My coworker and I met up with a couple of other ladies from work. I decided upon Poke Sun on this particular sweltering day while the other ladies went with the inferior El Primo Taqueria next to it. (Just kidding! Much love.) I ordered a small spring mix bowl. It comes with two proteins and five toppings. You simply tell the employee what you want and they build the bowl in front of you. All ingredients appeared and seemed fresh. There's a description of the different type of sauces one can add to the bowl. In terms of price, the portions are definitely small. Due to this, I won't be back often. Poke Sun is located inside Banks Food Hall. You may dine inside or outside. Customer service at Poke Sun was okay. Nothing great or bad to really point out. Aside from price, I'd say give it a try.

Small poke bowl $12+ (not worth the price, but was yummy)

Let me just start out with saying I'm SO excited a poke place is finally in Columbus, GA. I am giving 4 stars for the simple fact that they are probably the only consistent poke you'll find in the area AND because the poke bowl, although not true Hawaiian poke, was yummy and satisfied my poke craving. The downside- the price is OUTRAGEOUS for what you get. I paid just over $12 for a SMALL poke bowl and the portion size was absolutely small. Even the rice portion was minimum. Extremely disappointing. I got one scoop plain tuna and one scoop spicy (I've never had poke be minced?? Weird) on white rice with a variety of toppings. Again, everything tasted good. The staff is still training since they JUST opened, which is no big deal. Maybe that's why the portions are off? I'm not sure. Is it worth a try? Yes. Is it worth the price? Absolutely not. I REALLY wanted Poke Sun to be somewhere I could go to on a regular basis, but I can't justify spending so much money for such little portions.

I had the large Poke bowl where my protein was tuna, octopus, and spicy tuna. I added things like cilantro and seaweed salad and cucumbers, finishing up with sesame oil and sesame seeds. Delicious! There are not a lot of places in my area for this sort of delight (mostly barbecue/soul food/fried food/fast food) So I cherish it and encourage everyone to patronize Banks food hall!

Overall, it's just okay. Nothing to write home about. It's overpriced in my opinion and the flavor was lacking, even with the 3 sauces I got on it. It's 10.95 for a small, brown rice is $1 extra, albacore is $2 extra, and avocado $1 extra. 5 toppings are free then $1.50 for each additional.

Visited Poke Sun in the Banks Food Hall today for the first time. The servers were super friendly and helpful. Since it was my first time, I was given verbal instructions on how to build my bowl. They also have an easy to read and pretty straightforward menu. I built a beautiful large bowl full of deliciousness that I will say was well worth the price I paid. In comparison when going to a sushi bar and getting one roll, you can sometimes pay the same price for one super fancy roll that you would for an entire bowl here at Poke Sun. The ingredients were fresh and my bowl was fabulous! Can't wait to go back again.

Honestly, pretty disappointing and very overpriced. This place made me realize one could be bad at making poke.

Not worth the money, the way they put foods into the bowl look like them are doing an art (definitely not going to make your belly happy).

Since it was her bowl, she opted for the tuna, shrimp topped with an assortment of vegetables including house spices and sesame oil.

I'm here for a week and this is my second amazing lunch here (and I highly recommend their Build…read moreYo Poke restaurant, too). You literally can make limitless combos to have your salad exactly as you want. All dressings are made in-house, which is pretty impressive. You can order a rice bowl with ingredients, too. The portions are beyond generous (a small salad would be considered large elsewhere) and the array of ingredients and toppings is exceptional. On my first visit, I ordered a small spinach salad with grilled salmon. As toppings, I added chopped red onion, shredded carrot, pineapple, mandarin oranges, blueberries, chopped strawberries, chopped beet, blue cheese, sliced avocado, dried cranberries with their in house made raspberry vinaigrette. It was literally one of the most delicious salads I've ever had. I was so stuffed from the generous portion that I didn't need dinner. On my second visit, I got a veggie wrap with grilled chicken, chickpeas, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, shredded carrot, blue cheese, sliced avocado. I got the in-house buttermilk ranch dressing on the side (and ended up not using it-sandwich was amazing without it). I was asked if I wanted chicken warmed (I didn't) and I was amazed at the skill of the preparer who was able to tightly wrap the ginormous quantity of ingredients into the wrap and halve it. I only ate half my sandwich so I have lunch for tomorrow. Win-win. The black cherry tarragon soda was so good as was the Italian lemon soda. Their soups sounded great as did their desserts. The staff was so friendly and helpful. (Don't forget to tip!) The tvs on the walls show cool food art being made. I'd come here and their Poke place at least twice a week for lunch if I lived locally. Prices are extremely reasonable for quality and quality of food.

The menu is eclectic with just about something for everyone. All our food came out quickly. It was well prepared, fresh and everyone really enjoyed their food. There is a great drink selection and the service was excellent. The bar has roll up garage doors down one side that open up to an outdoor seating area with a variety of seating options. Decor is bright and cheerful. If I lived around here, Jarfly would be high up on my list as far as places to go relax drink and eat!

The combo appetizer included sweet potato fries, mozzarella sticks, wings, and nachos. The nachos…read morewere pretty basic--nothing special, no real cheese, barely any toppings. They honestly don't need to be on the menu. The mozzarella sticks were surprisingly flavorful with a nice crunch, but they came with way too much breading and only three of them, which felt stingy and odd. They definitely should've included more. The sweet potato fries had decent flavor but were under-salted (as fries almost always need after frying) and came out a bit limp and sad-looking. The hot wings weren't labeled as boneless or bone-in on the menu, but they turned out to be boneless--which is fine. They were a good size, but the "hot" sauce was extremely mild. It needs way more heat to live up to the name. Now, the ranch... this ranch is incredible. It's creamy, deeply flavored, and has the perfect amount of dill--it's practically divine. I could rave about this ranch all day. The Zombie drink comes in a cool skull glass (limited to one per person), but it's basically 99% ice with very little actual drink. I could barely taste any alcohol--maybe I have a high tolerance--but the flavor was solid. Still, it's pretty pricey for mostly ice. The John Denver cocktail also looked great in its presentation, but again, mostly ice. Thankfully, the flavor matched the menu description exactly, which was a pleasant surprise. The patty melt was solid overall, but it needed more salt and pepper for seasoning. My egg was overcooked (fully hard yolk instead of the runny one I was hoping for to ooze over the patty). The avocado was only on one half of the sandwich, which seemed strange. I'd have preferred a slightly thicker patty too, but I do appreciate that it came on Texas toast--even though the menu didn't mention it. All patty melts should use Texas toast. I added a side salad, which looked nicely artisanal, and--once again--that amazing ranch took it to another level. The regular fries that came with the Rodeo Burger aren't regular at all--they're battered and had great flavor and crisp structure. They were excellent... except for the missing finishing salt that every great fry deserves. The Rodeo Burger itself was cooked perfectly, but like the patty melt, the patties needed more salt and pepper. The egg was again overcooked (hard yolk). Beyond that, the flavors worked well, though the jalapeños were surprisingly mild and lacked punch. The bacon was spot-on--not underdone, not overcooked, just the right chew without being tooth-breaking. Overall, the food has potential, but seasoning (especially salt) is consistently missing, and a few portions/quality details could use attention. That ranch, though? Absolute standout
