Stopped in and tried the Blueberry lemon cookie. The cookie was soft and fresh. The blueberries in it were nice and sweet. However, the lemon flavor took over the whole cookie. I expected it to be a bit more subtle. I'll try a different flavor when I return. The service was great and the restaurant is really cute. read more

Service was quick and sweet. I witnessed one worker encourage a newer one to take my order and he did great! He made sure I knew how the process works, and walked through each station. Generous portions and so tasty! I built my own bowl. Spicy Salmon Bowl (white rice and spring mix as the base, spicy salmon, cucumber, sweet onion, seaweed, ponzu, tamari, mango, furikake, sriracha aioli, teriyaki sauce, crispy onion.) It was clean and quiet, with big and bright windows all around. All and all a great experience! read more

It was my first time trying out Poke Loa. The inside was small but pretty clean and organized. The lady with the glasses who took our orders was really nice and helpful in explaining how everything works. I tried their Land & Sea Sesame Bowl (Chicken & Shrimp) & King Loa Bowl (Salmon & Tuna). The portions were huge! Both bowls were really tasty and not to mention healthy food with the right amount of protein & carbs. I also got their Peach Freeze Frozen Lemonade which was also good. I'd recommend if you're in the Elmwood area and are craving something that's quick and healthy to get. It's basically Chipotle but with Poke! read more

Delicious bowls. I love poke loa but I haven't been to this location yet. Everyone was very nice and helpful. I got the build your own bowl with salmon, tuna and my first time getting the rice noodles and zoodles. They were so good! I also got the frozen strawberry lemonade drink which was great. My son drank the rest and loved every sip. We will definitely be back. read more

My first time trying a poke bowl, and Poke Loa did not disappoint! I got the imitation crab and everything was so fresh and flavorful. They also have frozen lemonades, other drinks, and offer delivery! If you work in Elmwood and want to try something new for lunch, this is a good option. read more

I can't deny the food was good but this is the nastiest restaurant I've seen in a while tons of cross contamination and spilled stuff that dried up because it was left. Especially for a raw fish spot they are nasty read more

This place used to be great- but NOT now! I'm not sure what happened to the old friendly staff, but NOW the kitchen is trashed, they are yelling at customers and they seem to always be out of everything (same with magazine street) would NOT eat raw fish there for sure! can't keep rice and sauces in stock or make the bowls correctly??? and rude about it. wow. read more

We came in Tues, Oct 10th and were helped by Maddix, who was an incredible sweetheart. She's outstandingly patient, professional, and friendly. She's the epitome of service with a smile. Both of our bowls were great portions for the price, definitely value in that, and the quality was top notch. The restaurant is clean, and has a welcoming, friendly vibe, with good music playing, indoor/outdoor seating, and a clean bathroom. We'll definitely keep revisiting this poke joint as long as it remains such a quality place. A++ for the service! read more

I have coming to his location for a long time even though I have one closer to my house. I had a question about the 2 for 1 bowl because last time the person gave me more options. The person that waited on me today around 1:30pm at the Elmwood location was so rude . I mean making faces, throwing stuff and stomping off . So unprofessional and rude. I don't know if this is her first job or what. I wanted to call and speak to the manager right away but I was concerned she may pose as the manager on the phone. Someone please teach this girl how to treat customers. She has black curly hair with blue eyes. Rude read more

This location is just as good as the ones in the city. The service and price is what you'd expect from most poke places. It's not the best poke food ever but it's very good. I've only recently discovered Poke and I can't believe I've been missing out for so many years. I've been here twice, and the ingredients have been fresh and delicious both times. So this is thoroughly confusing... I went to the location in New Orleans in the Uptown area on Magazine and the quality of the seafood (specifically the spicy tuna) was questionable at best, thus my hesitation at trying this place again, let alone this location. However, I was in the area and decided to grab a salmon poke bowl to satisfy my craving, and by surprise, the bowl was actually quite good! Quick Service during lunch time. The Ambiance is nothing special, but I will say though, Lemonshark has a slightly better tasting Salmon bowl and Oat Milk Matcha. But maybe this place ranks better in their other proteins options. We shall see. read more

Always fresh and amazing. When I'm in for a treat Poke Loa never disappoints!! Bowls are always full of delicious yummies

Folks working there were great. Polite and helpful. Food quality and taste were good. I got spicy salmon with the spring mix (no extras they charge for) and a bottle of Diet Coke. It was $20. Let me say that again - twenty dollars. $20 for a bowl of lettuce with 2 small scoops of ground salmon in it? Seems excessive. read more

Give the young lady (with the braces) who works there a raise!!!! She is soooo nice that I just bought a $22 poke bowl from a place full of little flies (gnats) because of her friendliness. I didn't see any flies when she was building my bowl but when I went to checkout a fly flew right next to my bowl. Normally I would gag .. but I made myself keep smiling because she was so kind. I ignored my impulse to feel grossed out & brushed the fly moment off as a "one off". So I sat down and started eating. All of a sudden.. flies (gnats) started attacking by bowl. One even flew on my food. I'm so grossed out right now!! My stomach is turning .. What a waste of $22 + tip. Well you know what her good vibes was worth the tip. But the bowl I can't eat is a waste. I wish this place was clean. read more

Meh. Here's the deal. I ordered the King Loa bowl. Big mistake. Close to 20 ingredients, all of which I enjoy greatly in other dishes. I love sushi, Japanese salads, Japanese pickle. I didn't love this at all. The ingredients just don't get along. They bury each other. Tasted like nothing. Felt like I was eating a bowl of raw ingredients meant to be stir-fried. I could make five individual dishes from everything that was in that bowl that would taste delicious. All together, it was mush. I had both salmon and yellowtail in there, both fish with a lot of flavor, might as well have been tofu. I tried putting tamari in it to add flavor, just made it taste like tamari. On the other hand, the ingredients all seemed good quality and fresh. A "Signature Dish" shouldn't have been so bad. The thing to remember is this: you don't have to have all those ingredients. You can build your own. I have it on good authority (a number of online articles and a friend born and raised in Hawai'i) that traditional poke only has a few ingredients. I can see that. That's the way most raw Japanese dishes that I love are made. Real poke has to be better than this was, otherwise I can't imagine why anyone would eat it. If you're going to try this and, like me, don't know how to build a decent poke on your own, I'd suggest doing some advance research. Find out what others love and copy it. Don't mess with the "signature" dishes. My wife had the signature salmon poke. Same complaint. Big bowl of nothing. My review is based entirely on the Signature bowls. The ingredient quality suggests that there's good poke to be had here if you know how to build it. I wouldn't count on the very basic teenagers running the place for advice. If you try it, good luck! I'll try a different place next. I need to try someone else's take. read more

Poke Loa - Lots and lots of stuff in those bowls. Too much for the flavors to work, I think. Build your own instead. - Poke Near Me - Elmwood, Louisiana

Poke was good. Ingredients were fresh. Another reviewer commented that it's pricey. Yes, it is on the pricey side but poke everywhere is always pricey. Also, it's a poke poke place and not a Japanese restaurant, so don't expect them to have the usual condiments you might find when you go to a sushi place. I find that their regular sized bowl is pretty filling, especially when you opt for a rice base. My only complaint is the service at the Elmwood location isn't great. I got blank stares today and no greeting or friendliness from any of the employees when I went to pick up my order today. A "Hello" or Can I help you?" would have been nice instead of just empty stares when I walked in. Anyway, maybe it was a one time incident. I'm excited to have healthier options for lunch close to work! read more

I have been to this location once and the one on Metairie Road about 3x. I think they are both fabulous. Excellent concept and fresh seafood. It is like a Subway but you are ordering an open faced sushi bowl! I love how you can build your bowl and I enjoy that the rice is warm. I usually order the tuna bowl with half rice and half greens with an extra scoop of crab. It is so healthy and so very tasty. I saw they added zuchinni noodles to their menu as well and beets, good timing for the Summer months when people tend to eat lighter. The pricing is a little high, but that is to be expected with fresh seafood. I love the counter service and being able to pay and go. It is one of my favorite healthy meals in the city. read more

Fresh and delicious! The team members were very nice and prompt. restaurant was also very clean.

We love Poke Loa. Ever since we have moved to Metairie, this location has been our go to spot. We love all of the fresh ingredients and have only been treated with kindness here. Right now there are only a few tables available for outdoor dining due to COVID restrictions; however, the few tables that were outside provided plenty of room for the customers waiting for their order to properly socially distance while outside. read more

Poke is one of my new favorite things, as it is for many people! I usually go to the Old Metairie location, but decided to try the new one in Elmwood. Mostly everything was good- clean restaurant, fresh ingredients, friendly staff. One thing that I tried for the first time was the spicy tuna- unfortunately, I was disappointed. It was in one huge clump in my bowl and didn't taste as good as the other protein options. Also, they offer "zoodles" as a base option, but keep in mind it is raw zucchini. Poke Loa - Half salmon half spicy tuna! Always add avocado - Poke Near Me - Elmwood, Louisiana

Located in Elmwood with decent parking options all around, there's also a lot of other food options to choose from, which plays into the 3 stars. Overall it's an a-ok spot. Atmosphere: converted yogurt shop meets Subway. Order your bowl, they make it for you in front of you, and then you can either sit inside (3-5 tables), sit outside (1-2 tables), or take your order to-go. I ordered one of the classic bowls with Tuna. The bowls here are good, but feel a bit over priced for what you're getting. Service was decent; the counter service employee was nice, but not knowledgeable. All of the ingredients seemed fresh enough, but for the price I'm expected a bit higher quality for ingredients being served raw. Nothing stood out as bad of course, but overall, I'm just not wowed enough to make this a regular stop with so many other amazing options nearby. read more

The new Poké spot in Harahan definitely delivers. The crew is friendly and fast while the ingredients are fresh. You'll end up paying $13-17 for a bowl depending on the size which can be a little high. However, the portions are fair as a large bowl fills me up. Nice grade of tuna and fresh avocado as well. Solid choice for some Poké. read more

I even ordered a large bowl this last time thinking it would prompt them to fill it up, and no. I ended up paying more for the amount I would get in a regular. The short version: no confidence. My mother and I were among the first customers of the day, and it just didn't look right when the fish bowls in the bar appeared half-empty and already scooped in. The impression I got was that everything had been left in that state the night before, which did not inspire confidence in the freshness of the fish--super important when you're dealing with raw anything. Whatever confidence I had left was shattered by something that should be pretty hard to mess up. I just cannot get past how awful the rice was in my bowl, especially being the first one to order any rice that day. It left a chalky, grainy aftertaste in my mouth, while still clumping as if it had been cooked previously. It looked and tasted like day-old rice. Considering we were, as I said, among the first to arrive that day, this was another huge disappointment. My mother built her own bowl as well, and got sesame oil as her fish seasoning. What this staff doesn't seem to understand is that sesame oil is one of those things that you use in relatively small quantities as a finisher; otherwise the entire dish will reek of it. Unfortunately, they drowned her fish in sesame oil, and ruined an otherwise decent bowl. Bizarrely, when we said we were eating "for here," one of us was served in a glass bowl and one of us was served in a plastic bowl. I'm majorly disappointed that we spent $26 on this. read more
