Big fan of Poke Ichii. When I'm craving sushi or poke, and I don't want to break the bank, this is my spot. Like most poke places, there are a number of pre-designed options or you can make your own. I usually actually go with their spicy bowl, and it's bomb. No notes. But if you're more of a control freak, have at it - they'll hook it up. One nice thing here is that you have options in terms of sizes - we bring the kids often, and there are plenty of options that are appropriately sized for them. I also appreciate that they have a loyalty club! We eat there enough to earn free bowls, which is nice. Everyone that works there that we've encountered has been super friendly, and the fish / produce is always very fresh. Never had the "ugh, it smells fishy in here" experience here - always a clean, nice atmosphere for a lunch. We usually take out, and it's always a good option. Definitely recommend. read more

So I started working in the Greenhaven area for about 4 months now and discovered this little gem next to 24 hour Fitness gym. I have been coming here almost every day every time I have a scheduled shift and the food and the atmosphere is AMAZING. The service here is quick and efficient, they help you and give you recommendations for what you're looking for in a bowl. The menu is huge and it's not just fish, there are chicken and tofu options for protein, they have bakes, sushi and can make nachos. It fits the budget especially with everything going up in cost. We were craving poke and decided to try this spot since it's so close to our house and we're so glad we did! We went this past Friday, and Chris absolutely made the experience. She was incredibly welcoming, helped us create the most delicious bowls, and made the whole visit feel so easy and enjoyable. Decided to grab Poke for dinner and decided to stop at our go-to Poke Ichii. I ordered three of the 3 protein bowls. All of the items we selected looked fresh with the exception of the Sunomono which always looks a little discolored but still tastes great and is crunchy. I am including a pic of the bowl I created which included the following: base-greens and sushi rice (sushi rice was a little clumpy but tasted good), 2 scoops tofu and 1 chicken, green onions, spicy mayo and the house sauces, crab salad, seaweed salad, masago, sunomono, edamame, chopped seaweed and furikake. The other two bowls included ahi tuna and spicy tuna which they said tasted very good. I will say this place has a lot more protein options than most places , that being said the price is a bit more but for just $2 more you can get 2 more scoops which is a steal compared to others. Service was good, patient as I had never been and wasn't sure what proteins I wanted. What I can say was different and not sure if she did this correctly was they had some pre mixed protein such as spicy tuna, and spicy scallops, most places would put that directly in the bowl with the base but hear they threw it in with all the rest of the proteins to be flavored with other sauces. However, their regular size poke bowl seems smaller than other poke bowls around town. Our regular size poke bowl comes with 3 scoops of protein (they use a scooper that looks like a melon baller-the amount of fish in our bowl was not much). We chose salmon and two scoops of ahi tuna and wanted to try a basic mix with just teriyaki sauce. The other ingredients (seaweed, edamame, cucumber, jalapeños, corn, furikake, fish eggs, etc ) are decent and the taste was pleasant. My bowl turned out pretty good but I feel like they skimped out on the sauces. You get up to 3 flavors but even with that it wasn't fully coated with sauce. Just enough but I like mine pretty sauced up. They have a lot of protein options like multiple fish options, cooked and or raw. Seasoned and or plain cuts. They have most of the same toppings as you'd find at other poke spots. Rice options were white and brown and they let you do half/half for your base. I opt for brown rice and lettuce mix. I would say though, my brown rice had an old rice smell and taste to it. After mixing everything it went away enough that it wasn't a bother. Had I not mix it evenly, I was able to smell and taste what tasted like day old rice or old rice that's been sitting in the cooker. Other than the rice and sauce issues, I enjoyed my bowl because their fish was cut nicely and tasted fresh which is really the star or the bowl. I love this little neighborhood, pokey place today. I was just wild by the insane freshness of the heat and scallops. The only thing that told me back from a five star is the price. You can actually order sushi rice here (usually it's just plain rice), which is the next best thing to poke! There's also a wide assortment of proteins, toppings, and sauces to choose from. My favorite add-ins are the sunomono (pickled cucumber) and creamy white sauce, which go great with the spicy scallop. In the mood foe poke and we have been here before. There was only one other table when we got there but they were leaving. We were able to order right away though I didn't know what to get. My wife knew she was getting the poke nachos but they don't come with much poke. My wife looked over the menu and said that the Kizami bowl. It has salmon, ahi tuna, yellowtail hamachi and shrimp and crab mix on top. It will give me the poke fix that I want. Plus my wife had some more fish to eat with her nachos or in fact wonton chips which I totally love better than nachos. Our combo worked out perfectly and we were both happy. You can see all the different pokes, sides, and veggies they have. We order ahead of time on line. When we got there there was a family in front of us. But I didn't see any to go orders ready. The girl working in the front greeted me as I walked in & apologized saying there's going to be a small wait, I didn't mind since I was still deciding what I wanted. I ended up getting a bowl regular size, the fish selection looked super fresh, & she definitely packed it on for me. When it came to sauces, I play it on the safe side & usually just get spicy mayo, but she also suggested a different sauce that pairs really well with it (I forgot which she recommended) but it definitely took my bowl to another level! Owners fix your freaking website there is a huge difference between $10.85 and $13.95. I will say the place looked spotless and their spam musubi contains Tamago (egg custard) super yummy. I caon a Sunday afternoon and the place was deserted so probably if you come in and it's empty don't order raw fish. I have been back a few times now for spam musubi and poke nachos.
