When they realized I had walked over, the repacked my order into an easy to carry bag, since it had been placed in a box anticipating that I would be driving. Attention to detail here is outstanding. The restaurant is small but inviting, sunny & warm. The owners are caring & offer great suggestions for local events. I ordered sashimi, a real favorite, and it was delightfully fresh. Like another one of my recent reviews, my wife and I decided to order from Poke Express because we had a DoorDash deal that we needed to finish cashing in on and Poke Express popped up during our search for Poke restaurants. Poke Express is part of a small strip of shops and restaurants in Fair Lawn, but you'll have to park on the street as these shops and restaurants do not have a parking lot. I probably didn't spend more than 15 seconds to pick up my order, but the woman who gave it to me was super friendly. She knew I had ordered from DoorDash, but when I came in for pick up, she advised me to order from their website going forward. However, she told me that if I ever could save money on 3rd party sites like DoorDash to just order from there. Anyhow, good to know. We both ordered 2 protein custom bowls - mine with white tuna and spicy salmon and hers with white tuna and ponzu salmon. We added as many toppings, sauces and crunches as we could (no limit) on top of sushi rice, so as you can imagine, our bowls were quite packed. In the end ... it was allll good. The poke was solid and the fish was fresh, not to mention the portion was bigger than it looked. Oh, and we decided to throw in a large Pina Colada Smoothie to wash it all down and the smoothie was amazzzzing. To say it was addictive is an understatement. My first time going to Poke Express and as many have said the people are nice however overwhelming and intimidating. Immediately asking if I know what I want and running through the options without showing me a menu of what could be considered something like an Asian Diner Menu. We tried Poke Express today and picked up two bowls for dinner after work. Drove over to Fair Lawn and found street parking up front. Was greeted when we stepped inside by a super friendly staffer who walked us through the ordering process there - base, toppings, protein, sauces, then crunch. For the two of us, I ordered bowls with the same base (sushi rice), toppings (edamame, seaweed, onions, cucumber, et al), crunch (crispy wonton, panko, and sesame seeds), and sauce (1/2 ponzu shoyu and 1/2 ginger dressing), but different proteins (one with tofu, and the other had tuna and salmon). Delicious! The food and all the ingredients were fresh and good quality. We ate our bowls at home and were definitely satisfied. Will definitely return. Also we (I really) want to try the Spam Musubi from the appetizer menu and cheese foam bubble tea! Tip: Pay with cash to get a little discount. The people who work here are incredibly helpful and sweet. They gave us lots of guidance as to what to try when it came to protein options, sauce combinations etc. My fiancé and I liked it so much that we ate here twice in less than a week - That is something we hardly ever do. Staff was super super friendly as I mentioned; In fact, I could have used a little less interaction during my lunch haha all pleasantries but I was trying to just relax and enjoy some poke with the husband. I am currently standing outside the location. The owner who is the friendliest and most kind hearted person I have ever met is the cause of me doing directly to my phone and writing this review. The food is delicious and fresh. From the smallest detail as even the ingredients she has she is detailed for. The boba tea is perfect. Not too sweet and the bobas freshly cooked. My mochi ice cream might be melting but for a good cause.
