I ordered poke city once on a whim. There are quite a few poke places in the area but this one has good reviews and allows you to choose as many toppings as you want, so decided I'd try it first. I liked it so much I went the next day. Since discovering it a little over a month ago, I've gotten probably ten bowls. My husband has also started ordering from here. I prefer going in person bc the app maybe only lets you get 10 toppings and in person you can get as many as you want. I generally get two proteins (double salmon), half rice half spring mix, and pretty much all the veggies / toppings. Such a good deal, and the salmon / toppings are great. They have seaweed salad and Tobiko and mango and avocado and none of that is extra. Most places charge you like $5 for a few slices of avocado and they give you a huge chunk for free. I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture! We ordered 2 poke bowls - 3 protein choice & Hawaiian special both with sushi rice but I liked having the options to mix 1/2 and 1/2 which is sometimes how I order bowls so it's balanced and not too much carbs. One thing I wish they had was kale noodles! Delivery was a little slow via GrubHub on a friday afternoon but I was happy to see 2 very packed bowls. Def hit the spot and glad I didn't order sushi. They are generous w their portions, my avocado was a chunky slice (1/3 of a full avo), plenty of crab salad and seaweed salad in the Hawaiian and I usually ask for sauce on the side an forgot but I wasn't mad bc all the flavors were really good and fit together nicely. A great deal! I got 3 proteins: salmon, spicy yellowtail and octopus salad. Added so many toppings and got the citrus miso sauce over the organic mixed greens. I was skeptical of the unlimited toppings but the sweet girl really tried to make it all fit. My avocado was at least 1/3 of a whole avocado. I found Poke City on UberEats, but never ordered from there although I was curious about it & ironically there was a Poke City right in the neighborhood. I ordered the "Salmon Love Bowl" which came with spicy salmon, avocado, mango, corn, green onion, spicy mayo & honey wasabi sesame seeds & I added in fish eggs & picked sushi rice. The combination of everything just went together perfectly. There was a little heat from the spicy mayo, sweetness from the mango, creaminess from the avocado & it all was perfect. Score for the area as there is literally no other good poke spot around here I have had so far (Ten Ichi Market has better fish but cold rice so nope.) Also I would not recommend the eel bowl much. Too sweet. This is the local good poke spot. They also have sushi for relatively reasonable prices but I've never gotten it as I just prefer getting poke here. As noted by another reviewer, there's only a $2 difference between the two protein and three protein option which I am fine with as the crab (or rather surimi) salad is essentially just an add-on then. They also have an octopus salad to add-on which I am always worried about as cross-contamination would likely result in very bad times but luckily that hasn't happened and they are pretty clean inside. My only complaint is that I wish that there was an option like some other poke spots to specify how much of the sauce they put on (light/medium/heavy) as I would describe the sauce to be the "light" level from other spots so for people who love sauces, ask for extra on there. Most of their add-ons are also free which is a nice touch as some of the add-ons such as shiitake mushrooms are extra at other poke spots. I generally get tuna, salmon, and crab salad or yellow-tail with a mix of toppings and either the sriracha mayo or the yuzu sauce. Outside of the sauce issue, I would mostly compare this spot to Pokeworks outside of them not having sushi burritos (which I don't care and I don't think they should that anyway.) Similar quality fish. I've been here too many times to not rate them highly. They also have a nice slightly sweetened oolong tea tea brand (pretty positive it's a brand I have bought in Chinatown) for I believe three bucks. read more

I want to rate it like a 3.5 or 4 I ordered for delivery and it came well packaged and everything was correct The food isn't too bad. They give a LOT of rice. My down downfall is that there is not enough sauce at all. Like the amount of sauce you get is not enough to well coat the fish. The toppings are not mixed in the sauce as well. The bowl itself would've been a 4/5 if it all just had a loooot more sauce and if it the toppings had sauce. With out the toppings being mixed in sauce and fish having so little sauce it was like eating bland fish and veggies over rice. You circle what you want on the menu and hand the menu to the staff. Then you pay. I got the Hawaiian bowl. It's jam packed with fresh ingredients and I love it. I chose brown rice as my base. It came with spicy tuna, crab meat, salmon, avocado, edamame, onion crisps, seaweed salad, mango, cilantro, cucumbers, corn, green onion, masago, sesame seeds, and spicy mayo. Ordered delivery via Postmates and I think I've found my new go to takeout spot. I got a custom bowl with two proteins (salmon and ahi tuna), with avocado, seaweed salad, kale, kimchi, cucumber, green onion, sesame seeds, and garlic crunch as the toppings. The kimchi was *so* good. Great flavors and not spicy, which I appreciated because I wasn't looking for a spicy kimchi poke bowl tonight. The seaweed salad is great as well. I like that they let you choose 1/2 base options so I could get 1/2 sushi rice 1/2 spring mix as opposed to only one or the other. The portions are pretty generous, in my opinion. I'm done with trying others as Poke City has the most consistent, highest quality fish and the best prepared poke bowls you can get in the greater downtown Brooklyn area. Sure, the delivery "fee of $2" is annoying considering 97% of other app ordering are free coupled with the fact that they close early (last order by 8:30pm) means you better plan early. I will say they are expedient with delivery (though have forgotten to look at the apartment number and lazily called instead). What doesn't disappoint is their bowls or their standard fare sushi (says my wife). They have the right sized pieces of fish and toppings along with the right balance of rice (and an option to mix brown and white!). Their sauces are flavorful and the herbs (toppings like cilantro) are fresh and abundant. Double bonus that they use fully compostable containers (at least for their poke bowls). This should be on your short list the next time you're in the mood for a bowl of Poke. read more

Every ingredient in my bowl tastes fresh which is great. I alternate between the 2 scoop and 3 scoop bowls - portion is on the larger side which I appreciate! It's a pretty small space so wouldn't necessarily recommend for dine-in. Customer service was good the couple times I've gone in person for takeout. In terms of poke quality, this place is rather unremarkable. But in terms of what they offer and their prices, it can't be beat. Note that their ordering system needs some clarification - the signs say choose your base first, but you have to choose how many proteins you want beforehand because that determines the size of the bowl they use. What's nice is you can split your base 50/50, and they don't charge extra like some other places. I did half brown rice with quinoa, and half organic spring mix. For my proteins, I did two (for $10.99. Three is $12.99). I went with sous vide chicken breast and yellowtail. They were both about the same color, so that was fun. Chicken was fine, a little bit too smooth. Yellowtail wasn't objectionable in any way, but also wasn't particularly fresh. Don't expect the catch of the day, I guess. They do offer a ton of protein options, including tuna, shrimp, salmon, and vegetarian options. So that's nice. For toppings, you get 4 included - I went with avocado (duh), edamame, shiitake mushroom, and seaweed salad. All pretty fine choices, though looking at the full menu now, I could've maximized on some more exotic stuff. Lastly, you choose a sauce and any crunchy toppings. I did the toasted sesame dressing (they put in a lot, so be sure to let them know "when"), as well as sesame seeds and onion crisps. All that for $11 + tax. Wow. The bowl for 2 proteins isn't huge or anything. It's about the diameter of a standard plastic salad bowl, but not as tall. Still, it should be the right amount of food for one serving for the average person. If you're not average... then I guess go for 3 proteins. Probably won't return, but it's nice to have as an option. read more

I chose the two ingredient bowl--tuna and salmon with brown rice, seaweed salad, mushrooms, scallions etc with Yuzu dressing. You can get salad as a base and tofu and cooked shrimp are there if you don't want raw fish. It was delicious and filling. The fish seemed fresh. Cost me $11.99. Fresh poke and quick service! The Salmon Love bowl is great and comes with tons of toppings. I also loved the crab salad that came on the Hawaiian bowl. A small bowl (two proteins) is $12 and a large (three proteins) is $15. Overall it was a delicious poke bowl, but the proportion of rice to fish was a little off (bowl was mostly rice). This place has everything a great lunch spot needs--speedy service, generous portions, reasonable prices, and of course good food. I wandered in here around lunchtime and expected a line, but to my delight, I didn't have to wait at all! The way it works is you create your own bowl--you choose from a few rice options, lots of protein options, and an overwhelming array of sides. You pick one rice and 2-3 proteins, and unlimited toppings! If that's not bang for your buck idk what is. I almost panicked at the sight of the smorgasbord of toppings, but eventually picked a decent combination. Special shoutout to the mango--I feel like sometimes these kinds of places serve under ripe mango but my mango was perfectly ripe and juicy. All the toppings and proteins tasted super fresh. The portion size was also pretty large--I couldn't quite finish the whole thing and I got a small. The woman working there was also very nice and patient while I very slowly decided what I wanted.
