This place hits every time! I've been serval times and every time I'm so happy with my meal. I love that it's kind of subway style where you tell them what all you want on your bowl and it's very easy and custom. The fish tastes fresh and all their sauces are delish! Sometimes there can be a line, it's a small storefront, but it moves quick and it's worth it!! Yummmmm

i love this place! serving sizes are huge and the ingredients are fresh. the menu is a little overwhelming and i'm still trying to dial my order in but it's always a treat coming here. the large can usually last me two meals when i piled up on the sides

You get a good amount of food and it's a good price for poké. The fish was fresh and had good flavor. There were also lots of options for sauces and toppings. I will say my cucumber was bitter but I wonder if it's always that way or it was just the cucumber I got that day. The server was kind and helpful. It was my first time going so I had a couple questions and he was really helpful. The outdoor seating is fun because you get to people watch everyone in PB walking by. They also had indoor seating but I chose to sit outside because the weather was nice.

Poke Chop is such an outstanding poke place at Pacific beach. The place was very clean. The staff were welcoming. They have detailed instructions for the customers on how to order. There are five steps when creating your order: the base, the unlimited sides, the protein, sauces, and lastly the toppings. They also have a menu for ready-made poke. Their poke was very fresh, flavorful and the amount was generous. The service was excellent. We enjoyed our poke bowls. There was no indoor seating, only outdoor seating. Most of the customers were picking up their orders. Parking is available in the side street but may be difficult. I am glad I found this outstanding Poke Chop. For sure I will be back when I am visiting San Diego.

Solid poke spot. The portions are big, the food is fresh. It isn't a super busy spot. Service was good but definitely could've been better. The ambiance is calm. It's a smaller spot but it's still solid. Parking could be easier but it's pacific beach so what can you do.

I went here a couple of times but this is my first time reviewing. All of the times I went, I got the salmon and tuna as the protein. They really pack the bowl which is great! They have the menu on the side and on the table to order as you go (makes it easier for customers to see what they want). There's a few tables outside to enjoy the food. It's mainly a Take Out place. Service was fine. Only Street parking available. I would come back here again.

I've walked by this place for a good 2 years. I was at a burger spot next door and finally decided to pick some up and take it home. First of all, thanks to the staff they were all really polite and chill. The food is really really good. Great quality and fresh. As a local I'll definitely throw this in my list. Appreciate it

This place is so so delicious I love how it is not like regular Hawaiian poke and we can add a lot of toppings. service is great and the workers are fast asf! They are so fun and have great recommendations. The ambiance is cute this place is located on the pacific beach strip so the parking is a bit difficult sometimes but it's worth it. The poke is delicious and I love the sauces they offer as well and on top of that this is affordable!!!! You are not breaking your wallet and paying 20+$ per bowl. Definitely hit this place up if you want some good poke you won't regret it!

Best Poke I have ever had on the mainland! Got the Pacific Beach bowl. So freaking delicious. Also got the salmon bowl and this place can really cook it up. Cute interior and awesome service! Jonah helped me and guided me through the menu. He's a superstar! I will definitely be back to eat at this phenomenal restaurant.

This review is solely for the food as it was picked up by our son. Ordered to go and the food was fantastic! Substantial bowls with plenty of ingredients. The fish was tasty and fresh. Order of 3 egg rolls were hot and had a perfect crunch to them. Poke Chop is one of the best Poke Shops we've patronized. Give it try if you're in the Pacific Beach area.

Jeff David G.

Awesome vibes and great poke! I hold poke in San Diego close to my heart, but that comes with high standards. I've been here a few times and the workers are always so warm and provide excellent recommendations. It's a small establishment, but spacious enough to accommodate a line of hungry customers for convenient take out. They have more fresh fish choices than most of the poke places around and a great variety of complimentary toppings and sauces to go with them. Reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of these bowls and well worth the trip.

Came here on a Saturday around 4 pm. There was free street parking around the blocks. A few people were in front of us ordering and then a few people came behind us. Inside has no seating and is pretty small and dim. The outside patio has 3-4 tables for small groups to sit at. Ordering was super easy. We all got medium bowls with white rice which comes with 3 scoops of protein. I got 2 scoops of salmon and 1 scoop of seared tuna. I got all 4 veggie sides with extra corn and I got the spicy mayo and jalapeño wasabi sauces. They had a good selection of toppings as well. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious!! We were al very impressed with the size and quality of the bowls. We all were able to finish but just barely. I would definitely come again, some of the best poke bowls I've had!

BEST HAWAIIAN PLATES IN SD (3.5 stars)…read more The food is always legit here! And the serving size is quite generous. So why not use them for catering?! I threw my dog (yes, my dog) a birthday party at Pure Pawsh (about a mile down the street) and needed catering food I like that was close by and can serve ~15 humans. I ordered in advance maybe 10 days before the event on the 27th 1 medium tray of rice ($60) 1 medium tray of Hawaiian Mac salad ($60) 1 medium tray of Huli-Huli Chicken ($120) FYI, they won't deliver if you don't hit the $400 minimum. I got an email on 9/20 that my order for 9/2 (Tuesday) will be ready at Liberty Station. Sorry 9/2 was like 2 weeks ago. I've stated my event is on the 27th Sunday. What was difficult about my catering order? I went to the restaurant and the front staff helped me get everything situated. But that interaction was a little off too. I don't mean to be stereotypical but GenZ customer service is something else. It's 9/27, my pickup was for 11:15 (confirmed it vial email, called the restaurant 2x the day before and made sure all was set for hand off at 11:15). I showed up around 11:15 and called the restaurant (I'm parked illegally because there is no parking and they said it's fine to do because it's just a hand off). Well the hand off didn't get handed off until closer to 11:30. FOOD SIZE the medium trays are good for 12 people. I think I could have fed 15-20 comfortably. I'm going to say the rice and Mac salad were a bit too much in size and wish they had offerings for smaller portions because those sides are just fillers and. Body is eating big servings of each. I had so much left over of those two - I made a lot of fried rice from the left over rice BUT the Mac salad went to waste. Portions great, taste is great, and price is fair.

The food was just okay, but the tipping setup is what really left a bad taste…read more This is basically a 95% self-service restaurant. You seat yourself, walk to the counter to order, pay before you even sit down, get your own water, and clean your own table when you're finished. The only real "service" is someone walking your food from the kitchen to the table. Yet before you've received your food or experienced any service whatsoever, the payment screen has the nerve to ask for a 15% to 20% tip. A tip for what exactly? My outstanding performance as my own waiter and busser? I counted roughly seven employees: two working the counter, one bringing out food, one near the water station, possibly two cooks, and maybe one dishwasher. If the restaurant collects thousands in prepaid tips during a busy breakfast and lunch, is all that money actually being divided among those employees? There's absolutely no transparency. It honestly feels less like tipping the staff and more like tipping the owner. If the restaurant needs 15% to 20% more revenue, just raise the menu prices by that amount and be honest about it. Don't advertise one price, provide almost no table service, and then guilt customers into adding another 15% to 20% before they've even taken a bite. Food: okay. Service: mostly provided by me. Suggested tip: apparently still 15% to 20%. Update, the manager sent me a response that I should be happy someone happily took my order. Wow, the expectations at this place is off the chart low. I sent him a response below. It's honestly wild that I'm supposed to be "glad" someone took my order politely, answered a question, and showed me where to tap my card. That is basic counter service, not some extraordinary full-service dining experience deserving 15 to 20 percent of the entire bill. And comparing your tip prompt to Costco asking for a charitable donation might be the dumbest comparison possible. Costco asks whether you'd like to donate a few dollars to charity. They don't suggest handing over 15 to 20 percent of your grocery bill because the cashier smiled and showed you where to insert your card. And just because tip screens are popping up everywhere doesn't make them right. This is the first restaurant I've eaten at where you order and pay at the counter, tip before receiving any service, get your own water, and then clear your own table. Your setup is not the norm. If I took ten people there for lunch and explained the system beforehand, they'd laugh me out of the parking lot. In fact, I posted about your setup on Facebook, and practically every comment agreed it was ridiculous. I tagged you guys btw. Let's recap: I stood in line to order, paid and tipped before eating, got my own water, and cleared my own table. At some point I apparently worked a shift there. Where do I pick up my paycheck? That snide remark backfired quite a bit, don't you think?
