I had my heart and stomach set on a poke bowl, so I ordered online and went to pick up. Everything about the process was smooth. When I went to take my beloved bowl out the bag there was a small critter trying to escape ! I guess that was the first red flag. The second was the brown lettuce which I didn't notice at first due to the toppings. I was still in the parking lot so I went back for a refund. That process was not as smooth. My bf & I came in on a rainy Sunday,& for a rainy day there were still people in here so that's a good sign for me. It's a small place with some tables on the side and some high stool seating at a few rows of counters. Inside was very clean & simple. We were greeted with a warm ALOHA and proceeded to make our order. The concept here is kind of like build your own poke bowl (some choices cost extra +50 cents to +1 dollar) or chose a signature bowl. My bf opted for one of the signature bowls w sushi rice: The Duke (tuna, salmon shrimp, seaweed, jalapenos, onions, edamame, cucumber, ponzu sauce and gochujang ) & topped with tempura flakes. Very good, he loves spice. His portion size was good and not skimpy on the protein; the shrimp were really fresh and sweet not like that frozen shrimp. For me, I did the build your own bowl with sushi rice, marinated tuna, ginger, edamame, pineapple, masago (+50 tiny orange fish roe), tofu, cucumber their OG sauce that they put on everything and I chose the wasabi aioli on the side. That wasabi aioli was BANGIN!!! I could eat that on everything. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star in my book was my portion size from the young man who made my bowl. I customized my poke bowl and it was delicious, but I will say that the portion could have been a little bit more generous. Everyone else's bowl was mounded and mine was not. For my bowl I chose the salad as my base, salmon, avocado, pineapple, sweet onion, sesame seeds on the top, and their gluten free OG sauce, which was really good! Let me start by saying I love Poke Bros, I go there all the time but my usual location is on concord pike. I decided to try this location since it's close to my work, I had picked up from here before, and I had just finished horseback riding in this heat. I desperately needed food. Since I couldn't step away, I decided to order through Grubhub. I don't know if they skimped on everything and got it wrong because someone wasn't physically standing in front of them watching them make the order or what. But when it got to me it was basically half of what I'm used to getting. I shook it up and was just so disappointed at what I saw after being charged $26. Granted, some of that was Grubhubs fees but even so, over $16 dollars for this?! No way. They also included onions, which I never ever order because of a strong aversion to them. Ingredients were still fresh though, so that's the bright side, I guess. Maybe it's just because I ordered through Grubhub but either way, that's a poor way of running a business. I've picked up lunch at Poke Bros many times and never had a bad experience. Maybe it's due to previous customers' yelp reviews that Poke Bros is where it's at now, who knows? But as I'm reading through some reviews, about portions, I've never had issues with their portioning. Remember you are paying ~$10-12 for a poke bowl. And to keep things in perspective, a weekday lunch special at any sushi joint will run you at least $10 for 2 basic rolls, and a salad/miso soup. Without lunch specials you are definitely going to be paying much more for not that much food. So stop complaining. Poke Bros charges a more than fair price for the amount of food you're getting, and it's fresh and delicious. read more

What started as a love affair has certainly fizzled out - there was a hefty mixup with what they were charging me and now they're telling me an extra scoop of rice isn't $.50 it's actually $1.50. That's insane - extremely overpriced. It's literally half as expensive as a scoop of shrimp/salmon, which I'm pretty sure is more expensive for PokeBros to buy/store. I've also witnessed a guy order a side bowl of rice (2 scoops) and get charged $5. It seems like everyone who works there doesn't actually know how much they should be charging for anything and they just make it up as they go. It's not bad, I am a Poke Fanatic since visiting Hawaii. Each time I go Hawaii, I have loaded the belly with many different styles and flavors. Seeing Poke Bros excited my taste buds! I noticed many of these have been changed to fit more American styles. A bit salty in my opinion but you can always ask to put the sauce on the side so you can add it in yourself. I hate that this location is closest to me because I have to continuously deal with the bad attitudes and poor customer service. Its a shame. Disappointed honestly. I love poke, I've had it from many places and this is probably the least favorite time I can recall. It was bland. The sriracha aioli was really really bland. The pineapple came from a can? Cucumbers weren't real fresh either and the cut was unfavorable. Shredded would be better for a poke bowl. And the avocado is essentially guacamole??? Which is really strange. Could've used a lot more of the sesame seeds and some cilantro as an add on option. I don't think I'll return to any Poke Bro's. read more

After just one visit, I am hooked! I created my own bowl which is definitely the way to go but they also have various preset options. The fish was fresh, the veggies were fresh, and the rice was fresh. In short this is one of the most fresh meals I've ever had. The flavors were amazing and we even met someone who comes an hour north just to eat here. I've described the style as subway but about a billion times better. I will be back soon. The food is acceptable; it's different than what other businesses are offering. Sometimes the portions are so large and/or "over sauced" that flavor and texture of the food declines. That said, be aware that they'll also over charge. It occurred to me today. I said that I essentially wanted a "High Tide" minus some ingredients, including some meat. I was still charged for a high tide. After some back and forth, I was told to just get the ingredients of a high tide, but don't mention the dishes name and I won't be charged so much. After that, the employee refused to respond. It was a willful choice to overcharge me. In short, the food here isn't good enough for you to suffer poor customer service or overcharging. I will go back again, because this is the first negative experience I have had there. In the past I have left 5 star reviews. The employee taking my order was very unfriendly. He also just threw the food around. I asked for cucumber and he gave me 3 pieces of cucumber. I asked for shrimp and he gave me 4 pieces of shrimp. If I could give a zero I would. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This place is over rated. Portions are very-very-very small of one tiny scoop of main meats. After adding all the other extras it is still a half filled already small bowl. The height is bulked up with starch -rice. I got salad instead of rice and the server gave me literally about 10 leafs of greens that I counted. I had to ask her for more again at the end of the line and my bowl is still only 50% full. Then when I asked for the sauce, the Asian lady sprinkled the minimal amount on top. I did not realized she was cheap on the sauce too until I got home when I could not taste what the dressing sauce was after mixing it. Maybe unluckily my server is the owner who is stingy on the portions, but price per pound, this is a "restaurant price" for a "carry out joint" without the service. The food is not even that fresh. I got a stomachache 1 hour after I ate the food! Definitely not coming back and not recommending this place. read more

"the new rivals" this is now my rival for POKE in the tri-state area. As you all know i am a devoted eater at PokeOno in Ardmore. Recently, i got a new car and i do a lot of my repairs inwith my mechanic in Delaware so while i was out looking for lunch(waiting on an oil change and other things) we found this place off kirkwood highway. They have a nice parking lot, decent view of the road and a very welcoming staff. the basics are complete. the bowls are next. per my usual i get as many proteins and whatnot on rice. and i get a mixed in sauce. here is where the PokeOno competition starts. they have such amazing sauces that mix so well with the salmon and tuna and shrimp(or depending on your preferences veggies and tofu) that i stopped dead in my tracks for this bowl. and the OG sauce...staphhhh playinnngggg!!! This is what it is all about. fresh ingredients in a way you chose to have them for an amazing price. depending on my location i might have to drive 45 minutes to an hour either way for a bowl of poke. this is a trip well worth it. ps might have to make the next trip as 'just cuz' read more
