Build Your Own Medium Poke Bowl
Serena P.

It's alright. I usually really like poke, and the service was good here. It's just that the salmon didn't seem very fresh and the ratio of rice to other things felt off. About half way through I felt like I was just eating a bowl of rice.

I went here because I had spent all day in the hospital and hadn't eaten that day. I will almost always pick Poke over any other kind of food when given the option and when I arrived at Super 88 around 8PM, I thought they were closed because the person working was sitting down or in the back hidden, so I ended up getting other food originally. While waiting, I noticed another customer was ordering, and got excited so I waited and ordered on their handy-dandy tablet for ordering once the customer before me was done. Though it doesn't beat my top 3 of Poke places in the Boston and Greater Boston area (why yes, I have tried the majority - close to all of the Poke-focused spots in the Boston and Greater Boston areas), but it was pretty solid. I thought the price was good and they give you a pretty decent amount of food and it definitely filled me up! If I were at Super 88 again, would I get them again? Probably. Would I pick it over the other spots in Super 88? Maybe? I'm not sure because there's some pretty solid cheap eats there (in my opinion). Does it break my Top 10 Poke spots in Boston/Greater Boston? Not sure - maybe? Probably not? Would have to try again.

Vegan Poke

I actually haven't had poke since becoming vegan four years ago, so I was excited to try some vegan poke here. Overall, I thought the place was alright. It wasn't spectacular or mindblowing. The tofu itself was very hard and rubbery, a little unappetizing at times. The corn and edamame were nice and fresh. They were very stingy with the avocado. The mango married everything so well and added some sweetness to the poke. My order was made pretty quickly, too, which is a plus. I might stop by when I'm in the area, but I also think that this is easy to replicate myself.

I have been here twice in the past week, and they just opened. Everything is fresh, refreshing, and delicious. I love the selection they have. You can get brown rice, white rice, kale noodles, or salad. So few places in Boston have the noodle and brown rice option. I typically get the eel, tuna, and salmon. Kani and seaweed salad are included too :) Sorry I don't have a picture of my bowl, it'd be half eaten because I was so hungry I dived right in!

Medium eel (+ahi tuna $2)

I saw the great reviews and thought I'd try this place out since it's close by in the 88 food court. It was a hot weekday, so I ordered delivery. A big mistake on my part and the poke bowl did not impress me for the inflated price. I ordered a medium eel bowl and thought I'd add on ahi tuna to try for an extra $2. I'm glad I did because honestly, all I got was a couple of tiny pieces of eel that was fulfilling and unsatisfying. I got more ahi tuna than eel, but for a price. The plastic bowls are big and it's not filled, but they are sturdy, so you could reuse them. The toppings were good and plentiful, which made up most of the bowl. I was surprised they don't charge extra for avocados as most places do. The cucumbers were slices instead of strips and the lotus chips were soggy by the time they got to my place. If you're shopping around you might have a better experience, but there are also other poke places near this that I would rather go to.

Poke Boys Classic Bowl

A new restaurant in super 88 food court. I ordered the poke boys classic bowl. Every bite is packed with flavor and tastes fresh. This place is great for a quick lunch and dinner that can leave you full for hours.

Ziki Sake (salmon)

Tried it when first opened and it was OK. Good but not amazing, right for the price though. I tried it again today after not having gotten Poke in a while (since my go-to PokeWorks has gotten much more expensive over past 2 years) and wow, amazing. I think they changed their seafood supplier or technique/preparation/storage because it was among the better tasting Poke I have gotten. Sadly due to my previous experience I only got small plates (zuki tuna & sake) this time and was craving to go back and get bigger poke bowl before finished it. Next time... Also "zuki tuna" and "zuki sake" side dishes were basically small poke bowls with edamame. When ordering I expected a sort of sushi sandwich after a Google image search, but wasn't disappointed with what I got as you can tell. Just an FYI.

The best Poke in town. Incredibly good service and top tier ingredients. A Super 88 food court gem.

Food tastes fine. Portions are rather small: "regular" is a small bowl for $14. But inflation, etc etc?

The food tasted great, and good quality. However, they give out really small portions compared to other poke bowl places.

Great range of options, food tastes good, ingredients are fresh. Prices are a bit high but that's the cost of good poke I guess.

I was feeling a poke bowl after looking at all the options they had, so I walked back to Pokeworks. I've had Pokeworks before in the past & stopped going due to a bad experience at one of the other locations but decided to try it again this day. They have self ordering via tablet available here or can order at the front. I got a custom bowl with choice of two proteins: $17.25 -salmon -spicy tuna -spicy aioli sauce -mango -edamame -cucumber -wonton chips -tofu My order was made quickly! Overall, this bowl was okay. Not the best poke bowl I've had in Boston but the ingredients did taste fresh. To be honest, I was still hungry after finishing the bowl. I think Pokeworks is a decent place to go for a quick meal if you're in the area.

I asked about gluten free options because while the menu marks allergens like shellfish, gluten, vegan, and dairy, it only had labels in some areas like sauces. The staff was really helpful and said it would be easier to walk me through a build your own bowl, which was considerate and made things clearer. It's nice that you can choose two proteins here if you want, and the food was fresh and tasted really good. The bowl was very filling but still felt healthy, and I appreciated that calories were labeled too.

Street parking was a little difficult in the area, but the food was so worth it! I ordered a poke plate, which came with two proteins of choice, plus macaroni and cucumber salad. While everything was good, the fish was definitely the stand out! I've never had poke where the fish pieces were so large. The fish was soooo fresh, melted in your mouth, and had great flavor. The inside is small and intimate with a few seating options. Service was fast, my food was ready within 5 minutes. So good!!! Definitely a need to try if you're in the area!

Luckily, I was able to go on the weekend after 5pm. Hours-- Weds: 5pm-8:30pm Thurs: 4:30pm-8:30pm Fri+Sat: 3pm-8:30pm So, I totally didn't expect there to be such a longgg line to order @5:30pm on a Saturday! We were all packed in there like sardines. By the time I got to the front of the line & was able to order, they ran out of most things. Originally, I wanted to get the spicy salmon + ahi tuna, however, they had ran out of both. I ended up getting a mix plate with spicy tuna + ahi oka. I wanted to try the Manoa chip dip but that was also out by the time I got to order haha. I liked the spicy tuna but wasn't the biggest fan of the ahi oka, which is raw tuna with coconut cream, lime juice, onion, scallions, ginger, + chilis. I found the rice, kimchi cucumbers, + Mac and cheese to be just all right... wasn't very impressed by the plate overall. I still felt hungry afterwards and ended up going to grab dinner. Mind you, it doesn't take much food to make me feel full & for $21, this wasn't the most satisfying meal in terms of taste + portion size. Fish tasted fresh though at least but I don't think I'll be back. Seating: there's only like 3 tables; two for parties of 4ish and one smaller table for 2.
