This review is for a remote indoor visit to an office park as part of Fooda. Easy to order, generous serving and ample protein on my bowl with chicken, vegetables and noodles. Everything was hot. Chicken: Lots of it, tender and very fresh (not dry and reheat-tasting like at too many places). Noodles: The yellow kind. Firm enough, not over- or under-cooked. Vegetables: Probably the weak link, not that many of them, surprising given the chicken quantity, and a little droopy. Teriyaki sauce: Not too salty, though a little sweet, which might not be for everyone). Sriracha available to spice things up. Overall, good meal, good value-- I hope they come back again. read more

All I can say is that this truck is "aiight", which pretty much is a definition of three stars (synonymous with A-OK). Ordered a sampler size of teriyaki chicken and rice. Pieces of chicken were tender, and the sauce wasn't overly saccharine. There just wasn't anything all that spectacular or interesting, just chicken cooked in sauce. Likewise, the rice while good in and of itself wasn't anything to be beheld. Look, I understand that this is a sampler, but that's when the stakes are higher, not lower. This is this trucks time to shine. Suggestions for improving: add something distinguishing, like something to balance out tr overall uniform teriyaki flavor. Some spice, or better yet just a little bit of veggies. Based on the above, this place teeters between 3 and 4 stars. It was the price, and more than that value, that set the rating firm at three stars. This truck just didn't do anything to set itself apart, or go above and beyond. read more

I always get chicken teriyaki with vegetables and white rice from this place for busy lunch. The portion is generous and the food truck provides consistent taste which I like. It is only $8 for a meal. There is usually no waiting line and I want to try tofu or pork next time. read more

Value: Fabulous. The bowls are large and start at $7.00. Vibe: Pretty good. Truck is fun looking, people working are very friendly. Service: Okay. They prepare food quickly, but we're out of some ingredients only 15/20 minutes after arriving. Quality: So-So. My food was okay. I got the Chicken Bowl. As said earlier, it was lots of food. It was all cooked and hot, but I wish it was more flavorful. It seemed like mostly plain chicken with white rice and the veggies were also only OK. Thoughts: If you're looking for a good, quick value meal, this should satisfy your needs. If you're looking for that exceptional teriyaki bowl that you know and love, I'd say skip it. read more

I decided to try this truck for lunch today. The value is good since for $9 you can get a chicken bowl with extra meat and it's a good portion. However it was disappointing. The chicken and veggies were ok, kind of bland, and the rice was VERY over cooked. I would take forkfuls and come up with mushy mounds of stuck together. Honestly I thought it tasted like minute rice. read more

Gluey overcooked noodles... underflavored protein... kinda expensive for a food truck. The portions are big but do you want a lot of so-so food? There are so many noodles & rice food truck options downtown and they're all cheaper and tastier. I ordered the noodles with tofu. "Vegetables add-on" would have been $1 extra, for a total of $11. Figured I'd get a little cabbage or something with the noodles... nope. Just noodles and tofu and not much flavor. read more

The food in terms of the grilled beef/shrimp is good but the rice & veggie I've had better so that cost points. next time I'll just do without the other things unless my stomach says otherwise. read more

Warning to vegetarians - their teriyaki sauce is not vegetarian. And no where do they state this. The first time I ordered from them they did not tell me it was not vegetarian. You'd think someone ordering tofu teriyaki might be ordering it because they are vegetarian. But they did tell me the second time I ordered which I was appreciative of that, but still pissed that they didn't tell me the first time. Of course this is purely from the perspective of a vegetarian...people who eat meat probably don't care there is chicken broth in the teriyaki sauce. That being said, if you order tofu and vegetables without the sauce it is flavorless. And agree with another poster - way too much cabbage in the vegetarian delight Note to restaurant - PLEASE offer a vegetarian version of your teriyaki sauce. read more

Loved their chicken teriyaki bowl, had it at the Somerville StrEATS. I love how much you get at a reasonable $7.00 a bowl. I will be trying their chicken and shrimp bowl in the near future. Keep doing what you are doing. read more

I was so disappointed. I was at the Everett Village fest and ordered a vegetarian dish that was mostly cabbage. There were a few mushrooms and carrot strips but that was it. Prices were marked up compared to what others report they were charged in Yelp reviews. read more

Surprisingly good truck food for cheap. I tried the chicken on steamed vegetables and the beef on lo mein. I personally found the chicken to be under seasoned and slightly dry. The beef and lo mein, however, was excellent. Make sure to add some hot sauce! The acid in the hot sauce really helps cut through the sauce on the beef and lo mein. read more

Good portion/price for a teriyaki chicken bowl. The chicken and veggie were cooked well and again, portion was great. The rice was decent generally although there were a few pieces of raw hard grains in my bowl. Seems like they need to tweak the rice cooking a bit more. I might give them another shot. read more

Was at Sowa market and hopped over to grab some lunch. Everywhere was packed. Got the chicken teriyaki with fried rice. It was decent. Fried rice was dry, so probably not fresh and sitting around for a quite awhile. The meat was pretty good. Portion size was good, but could be a bit more. But at that price point, I couldn't complain. The line wasn't all that long, waited for 5 minutes to order. Then waited another 30-40 minutes to get the food. -___- Couldn't believe it takes that long to cook chicken and serve on pre-cooked fried rice. I work in the food industry and this kind of wait time would have the customers raging. And this was on a super sunny day, so the heat didn't help. read more

Never, ever would I go here again. Worst $10 I have ever spent. The shrimp wasn't deveined! Absolutely disgusting!! I couldn't tell you if the chicken or rice was good because who in their right mind would eat it! Teri-yummy is now a favorite food truck after having it for the first time at lawn on D. The staff was super friendly. My friend and I split the chicken teriyaki bowl. It was big enough for both of us to feel full. I wish there was more vegetables in the bowl. The chicken was so flavorful. So much food for $7!! I hope I see this truck around the city more. read more

I'd never seen the Teri-Yummy truck before so I decided to stop by at SoWa this past weekend. We got the beef + shrimp teriyaki as well as the chicken teriyaki. It was delicious! I'm pretty blown away by the ratings here...I attended the NH food truck festival at Red Hook Brewery and shrimp teriyaki was the first thing that caught my eye! I am not a complaining person, I've worked in the food industry so I know things can get overwhelming! However...that being said, I've never made a review on anything before, but felt the need to on this. I don't know if they forgot, or it literally doesn't come with any, but the "shrimp teriyaki" came with NO sauce. They were out of noodles when I went to order, and people in front of me had been waiting 20 minutes with no food coming out of the window. I'm just blown away that a "teriyaki" bowl could have no sauce or seasoning. Absolutely nothing. It was hot baby frozen shrimp, thrown on lettuce mix out of a bag, which wilted almost instantly sandwiched between the hot shrimp and hot rice. There was just no flavor at all. Paid $10, waited 20 minutes at least, just to realize it was read more

Food taste pretty decent, but I noticed something that has me not wanting to go back. I ordered a chicken and shrimp Teriyaki, and halfway into the meal, noticed that the shrimp were not cleaned properly. Still had the "vein" in it. Unacceptable. read more

Visited them at Lawn on D, not sure how the truck has 4 stars. My friend and I both ordered two different dishes the shrimp teriyaki and the tofu teriyaki and both were terrible and flavorless. My tofu was just complete mush over white rice, pieces of cabbage and some peas. The sauce was lacking any flavor at all and was just been poured over the plain tofu, not marinated or anything. Even after adding packets of soy sauce and sriracha it was still too gross to finish, I ended up throwing half of it away. My friend's shrimp dish was pretty much the same, zero flavor, tiny shrimp just steamed and topped with sauce over rice, she didn't even finish half of hers before dumping it. I definitely won't be returning. Worse than food court food. read more

Ordered the chicken and shrimp teriyaki with fried rice. Took quite a while before it was ready, and no other customers were around. I was disappointed with the quality. The rice was not fried- kind of gummy, one brocolli floret and a whole bunch of cabbage came with it. The flavor was one dimensional. I wouldn't do a repeat. read more

Friendly, quick, and $10 for a decent portion. But nothing amazing, just solid teriyaki stye dishes.

This food truck always stops by northeastern campus and I decided to give it a shot. One of the best teriyakis I have ever had. The chicken was tender and juicy, the rice was soft and the vegetables were neither too crunchy nor too soft. Overall a really good experience. Prices aren't bad either. read more

This place is bomb. For only $7, you get a bunch of chicken teriyaki with your choice of white/fried rice, and a side of steamed vegetables. For only a dollar more, you get to add a fried egg! I typically go for the Chicken teriyaki bowl with rice. With noodles is another good option. Some of my coworkers will go with a little extra sauce or they'll hold the veggies (rare that a super-busy foodtruck can offer such customized, special service. Nice touch! read more

Teri-Yummy was at the Lawn on D season opener on 5/15/2015. The line seemed somewhat shorter than the other trucks, so I decided to give it a try. I was with my friends, so we just put all three orders on one person's credit card. We kept it simple--3 chicken teriyakis with fried rice. I paid and then went off to the side to wait for my food. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I realized that people behind me were receiving their food already, but I continued to wait. My friend went up and asked about the status of our order 3 times, and they said "it was still being made." 45 minutes of waiting later, we all came to the conclusion that our order was either never put in or given to someone else, because the guys in the truck had no containers with our order name. After about an hour of waiting, we finally received our order, and I vowed to never eat here again. On top of it, our orders all had white rice instead of fried rice. While I was waiting, I also asked someone how the food was, and he said it was nothing different than Chinese food from a food court in a mall. I would have to agreed. Overrated. read more
