I went to Pokémoto after a few years. I was super excited to have a poke bowl. For getting your bowl made, you start with choosing the base, then proteins, mix-ins, sauce, veggies and lastly the crunch. I wanted the white rice because I love white rice and thankfully asked before I ordered it if it was gluten free. The girl working checked for me because she knew they put vinegar in the rice and the vinegar was not gluten free unfortunately. So I got the mixed greens as my base and she didn't know if the chicken was gluten free so I ordered the shrimp. She said I was safe with the veggies and mix-ins I chose. I didn't get any crunch. I appreciate the employee being so kind and understanding my allergy. I didn't really like the bowl and wish they would cook their rice with gluten free vinegar. You do get a decent amount of food in the bowl and I had leftovers. read more

We made an order and added, ice cream and soup bowls came fresh and good, but no ice cream or soup. Our kid went there to pick up the order they even didn't say anything about they don't have the ice cream! plus they forgot the soup. When you don't have something don't you tell your customer and return their money. We called them they only returned the ice cream not the soup. read more

The service here was quick but unenthusiastic and the server seemed like they didn't even want to be there. As for the bowls themselves, the poke salad mixed greens were bitter and honestly dry; they seemed wilted. The scoop portion for the meats were good! I think there is a great variety with the amount of toppings, I just wish it was a better overall physical experience. read more

First time I got poke. Didn't know what to expect, so I had somebody order for me. "Just surprise me!" We ordered to pick up, due to this COVID-19 pandemic. Again this is my first time ever, so when I opened the box I didn't expect it to be cold. I expected a warm burrito, but not this one. Secondly I noticed how BIG this thing was. The seaweed wrapping three me off thirdly, doesn't a burrito have a tortilla? That's what happens when you use to live for years in LA. Fourthly, it looked like a giant sushi roll, not a burrito!! Time to dig in! The first bite, and all that followed were pleasantly tasteful, the combination of all the ingredients made it a feast every bite I took. The spiciness, with the sweet mango moments. Solid poke choice in the Fairfield area. You can dine in or take out but usually, it's never busy for seating. I ordered from the kiosk and it did take probably 15-20 minutes to make my bowl which is normally longer than normal compared to other poke places but all the ingredients tasted fresh and I don't really have any complaints over here. I didn't really interact with the staff so I can't say much in terms of customer service but my take-out orders are pretty smooth running. read more

Came here for a quick bite to eat after the beach since I was in the area. It was quick and convenient. I ordered my usual salmon/tuna over rice combo with kani salad, seaweed salad, cucumber, furikake, pickled radish and regular radish, then topped with ponzu. My favorite combo. While the rice seemed to be on the mushy side, I didn't mind it too much. The establishment felt warm though on a hot day with no AC and door propped open and there was a questionable noticeable fishy smell more so than normal. I felt ok after eating it so the food was fine. read more

Oh how I love this mini chain. I've been to new Haven and now Fairfield. Both have a winning formula. Great quality protein, fresh toppings, friendly professional service and a cute interior. The set up is familiar - like a chipotle for poke. But I had the poke salad and ate every bite. If you are looking for something different yet familiar, this is the perfect place. Yay. read more

Did not taste fresh at all - the miso salmon. Also, hardly any salmon... Ordered the large bowl but it was such a small portion.. I think 18 bucks. Will stick to my favorite poke places that also have very friendly and helpful service. This was just all around disappointment, I am sorry to say. But they need to be careful with the freshness of fish.. The freshness of everything at an open fixing bar like that. read more

Pokemoto is a great place to eat fresh sushi but in bowl form! Sushi is never a cheap meal but they do give you a good amount for what your paying. You can choose one of their bowl options or make your own. The bowls come in 2 sizes: regular and large. Regular you get 2 proteins and in the large you get 3. They give you plenty of options to add into your bowl however some add-ons are an additional charge such as avocado and masago. Pokemoto also serves dole whip if you are craving dessert after your poke bowl. There is a small parking lot in back if you get lucky so street parking may be the way to go. read more

I was craving poké and was around Fairfield so decided to stop in here. They have a few seats for dine in, parking in the back as well as a kiosk to order your food. My boyfriend and I each got a bowl - I got a custom bowl (sushi rice, tuna, salmon, seaweed salad, edamame, Kani salad, etc) and he got a signature bowl (Miso salmon). Overall, they were very tasty! It is much like a special sushi roll with all of the fixings but in a bowl. We both got the regular size and felt like it was plenty of food. My only comment is we felt there was too much sauce for our liking and will probably indicate light sauce next time. We picked up two small bowls to take with us to the beach one day and couldn't be happier with our bowls! There are plenty of poke spots in NYC so I'm so glad there's one in my hometown! At first I was a little hesitant about getting the small size (I was hangry) but it was the perfect amount. They have a variety of combos and you can make your own. I love that the tuna is wild caught and you can add as many toppings as you want (some have an extra charge). Make sure to try the Hawaiian ice tea - so good! They also have a bunch of different flavors of la croix and dole whip if you want a little treat. The spot is where Pinkberry used to be so there isn't a ton of seating. It's more of a to go spot but the line moves quick and the employees are super nice and patient-- there are a ton of interesting toppings and sauces so it can be hard to choose what you want. Can't wait to go back! read more

Before the Stamford opened I would have to go all the way to Fairfield to get this delicious Poke Bowl!!! I am so happy this location opened because I love coming here to get bowls, and the sauces are great. I think the price is reasonable for what you are getting. The salmon is my favorite but I like that with the regular size bowl you can get half and half of proteins, so I usually get salmon and tuna. This will be a regular on my eating out rotation for sure. read more

Portions were really big and service was fast and efficient. Honestly did not expect them to be able to close the lid with all the toppings but they did a great job without dropping any food which is a plus! I got the pick 2 protein: salmon and tuna. Wish they had cream cheese but that is okay. The spicy mayo was more on the sriracha side so keep that in mind. The garlic oil on the side is amazing, definitely fill yourself a cup to go and go ahead and dump all that goodness onto your bowl. Let me start by saying I love Poke and I'm a poke snob. We ordered delivery from here and were pleasantly surprised. The fish was tasty, I had a mix of tuna and salmon and they tasted fresh and the portion was reasonable (sometimes I feel like I pay $15 and get 4 cubes of fish!). My only complaint was how much rice they included - I love a good sticky sushi rice but this one was a little bland and there was a lot of it, which affected the overall taste of the bowl. read more

I am so sad to say that I had the worst poke bowl and kani salad ever here. Did they get a new chef? I used to LOVE the kani salad and poke bowls here but this one was a brown avocado, the sushi rice was gooey and basically a block of white. The kani salad was also gooey and the bowl just tasted bad. i will not be returning. read more

Excellent service and fresh food. First time here and the gentleman behind the counter was patient and explained everything on the menu. Very easy to order and any combo of ingredients would work. Can't go wrong. The taste of the food is fresh and delicious. I came in with my husband and daughter. My daughter ordered a Poke Burrito, my husband and I ordered Poke Bowls. First time ordering here via Uber Eats but, have had poke bowls before. I made my own poke bowl and I ordered it w/ three flavors. First let me start off saying, everything was on point EXCEPT for the flavors. My bowl arrived LITERALLY DREDGED IN SAUCE. I've had ordered this in the past at other poke spots and never ever was my bowl filled with flavors. It was so much that you couldn't even see the whiteness from the rice!! Everything was completely covered in sauces!! It was so much it piled up like soup. It just takes simple common sense to realize "hey let's not overkill it w/ the sauces"!!! Had a custome bowl made. How could you not like sushi in a bowl or burrito, if you're a sushi lover? Great alternative to the crap fast food around the area, much healthier. Definitly a good place to go if you are trying to be somewhat conscience about eating. Owners are nice people, had a quick chat with him. Hard worker, he's active in all his stores. After visiting Hawaii with family a few years ago I've kept thinking about the poke I ate there. What a pleasant surprise to have a poke restaurant open in Fairfield. Stopped in today with the hubby and kids. We all enjoyed it, with our sushi loving kids asking if we could have lunch here again some time. This is a decent place and at lest I don't have to go to new haven anymore if I want a bowl. The rice was so hot it started to cook the fish and I wasn't a big fan of that. It also seemed like way more rice than necessary and not as much toppings. read more

The second course was like a tapa - grilled pork belly for my friend and a shrimp salad tostada for me. Yummy! Then we both had ropa vieja for the third course - deliciously seasoned meat with rice and black beans on the side. Everything was fresh and tasty. Cooling area looked clean. I got a triple onigiri combo. One was filled with kani, one with shrimp and one with raw salmon. I could choose either poke' sauce or teriyaki sauce. When I asked the cook what the poke' sauce was like, he simply said, "Teriyaki is sweet, poke is spicy." I opted for the poke' sauce, which was just your standard spicy mayo that goes on lots of American sushi. Right off the bat, the rice wasn't seasoned at all. It was just warm rice with little green laver flakes for color. No flavor in the rice whatsoever. Also, since the salmon onigiri had raw salmon in it, the heat of the rice partially cooked it, making the texture awful. The shrimp tasted off as well. The only one that tasted halfway decent was the kani, but I could have gone to any Asian restaurant in my area for a kani salad and it would've been a bigger portion and much more enjoyable. Needless to say, very underwhelming. Won't be back.

A quick little yelp search and we had an instant detour for some sustenances, while we let the other motorist continue on their way. Bodega, located in a small little shopping strip, is also small and quaint. Not much wiggle room so be prepared to be neighborly. We arrived half past 4, just in time for HH @ the bar. So we grabbed some seats at the end of the bar where Alex the bartender took care of us. We started with Passionritas (passion fruit margs) and guacamole. Both were equally delish and the guac is bowl licking worthy. However, I do not recommend since you are dinning in public. Lol. In addition we ordered the bodega blistered brussels sprouts and baja tacos to share. The sprouts were an absolute stand out. I opted for the Mexico City Ceasar Salad with Salmon. Presented slightly deconstructed, which didn't take anything away from the great taste. We had an absolute great experience from Alex our bartender whom was very impressionable to Diego (possible manager) whom also made a nice impression. We tried a few more margs before our departure. With the hibiscus being one of my faves. A wonderful spontaneous detour, that will now be a welcomed stop on future road strips north. The food and drinks were good, but the experience afterward left a bad impression. While we were eating, a server came by and separated the tables. Near the end of our meal someone who seemed to be in charge asked if I wanted to finish my drink at the bar. It felt like we were being rushed out after a larger party came in. What made it more frustrating was that other tables with the same amount of seating, including a single person at a 4-seat table, were not approached or treated the same way.

Both the items very flavorful, the right amount of salt in the lomien and seemed very fresh. Prices are a bit high, but for that area they are appropriate. Good addition to Westport
