Mostly good. I come here quite often due to its location. Booking is super easy via their website and you get confirmed quite quickly (I'm sure you can call in too). Some technicians I find stronger than others. The worst to happen to me is being cut on a few occasions (and bled from cuticle cuts) and having my nails filed crookedly based on the requested shape. Overall once you find who you like, they do a solid job. The powder chrome fee is outrageous though. The two times I had a glazed donut look they charged more than $15 for the minor addition. read more

Finding nail services while on vacation isn't always the best. You usually have to take what you get. So lucky we found Poised. And by found, I mean we googled "nail salons near me within walking distance" called a few places (no availability). Then called Poised and they could get us in right away. Funny story....on our walking trip of the city we had literally just passed them about 15 minutes prior to calling, and absolutely didn't see them... haha. Luckily it wasn't a far walk back. It was serendipitous that they could get us in. Anh did my mani/pedi combo. Christina did my fiancé's. Both ladies did an excellent job. I didn't get polish (time restraints and I was wearing shoes and socks so I didn't have time to sit and wait for them to dry) I'm not used to bare toes. Anh took some extra time buffing my nails to give them a nice shine. So did Christina for my fiancé. Anh shaped my nails on my hands perfectly. We were extremely happy with the massage process from both of them. Someone was always cleaning and straightening up. It's a nice little salon tucked away between some rather large building entrances. If you live local give it a try. If you're a visitor to the area and need some nail services this might just be your place. Our total was $101.85cad. Very reasonable for a great service. read more

I really like the poised salon. They have two locations which are independently owned . Staff is English speaking and understand your needs well. Good collection of nail colors in shellac, gel n dip. Independent counters for pedicure and manicure. Safety measures due to COVID-19 is taken care of. We went together so they made sure we get pampered side by side. His was simple pedi-mani combo n mine was with gel polish on my original nails. Pretty neat job done and satisfying. The next to my manicure station was another manicure with nails and i must say the technician was doing great job. Price is decent too . There are products of kevin murphy to buy as they have a single chair for hair care and cut. read more

I used to go to this place as a monthly routine during the past 3 years when I lived in coal Harbour and always satisfied with both service and price. However, when I was there yesterday, one of the girl blamed me for trying out too many different colours and wasted her time. She SHOUTED! at me for at least three times in a loud voice in front of other customers: every customer only have one hour and my behaviour was unfair for everyone. I knew she felt guilty that her next customer had to wait, and humiliating me in front of her customer made her less guilty and felt better. She was right, I felt extremely awful and her new customer laughed at me and I felt extremely awful after this over a hundred dollars services. However, and most importantly, 1.no one mentioned the service is only an hour per customer in the phone, and I booked two services anyway. 2. I booked french style manicure, and it definitely should be more than an hour than regular shellac mani. 3. The girl did not start the service right away when I first got there, because, her colleague was painting her nails when I first got there. 4. I asked if I can add a silver line for the French style, they accept, I did not force them to do it, they don't have to accept it if they are not eligible, rather than blame the customer for time management. Finally, As a loyal customer, I always do service like mani, pedi, waxing and purchase product regularly in this place, however, I will no longer recommend this place to anybody, because there is a possibility that make you feel like shit! at the end after you spend hundred of dollars for treatment! I forgot to ask the girl's name, but she has long dyed blond hair and not wearing glasses, and I think she is Vietnamese. To be honest, when talking about fairness, she was shouting to other colleagues from one side to the other side of the room that is not relating to work, and that make me and other customer having a headache. read more

This place is truly a little hidden gem. I booked online for an appointment for a gel nail with tips, eyebrow threading, and pedicure. Everyone was super nice and polite and took care of me right away. The lady who did my nails did such a great job that I couldn't stop thanking her throughout my experience. I'm only here in Vancouver for one day on a work trip but I would definitely come back just to retouch my nails again. Truly wishing the nail salons in New Jersey in the United States would be like this one. read more

Extremely disappointed at the lack of professionalism and quality - WILL NOT visit ever again. This nail salon was recommended by my co worked who had recently started going here for her manicure. So a week ago I decided to visit for a full gel set with manicure. The results and service was average in comparison to the other salons in the coal harbour area. Nothing stood out other than the expensive price it had costed. However considering it was a gel set rather than acrylic, I wasn't too concerned. In addition it was with the technician my co worker had recommended. Tips were paid accordingly. Unfortunately the glue was lacking on my right thumb and index finger and within a weeks time they were peeling. So today I decided to call in and ask for them to schedule a fix. I was told it would cost me as it's been 8 days since and it's only free of charge within a week - alright that's fine. I had my gel redone on both fingers with the length GROSSLY longer than the left side. The technician Sally did NOT bother to compare the length. Sally was hesitant in finding out which polish has been applied by the previous tech and told me she rather stick with clear as they have too many nude colour to canvass which polish fits my original nail colour ( semi opaque pink). When I suggested it was a light nude colour layered once, she agreed to find the shade but said to me " if you're happy then ok." Excuse me? Additionally, the oval shape is not filed symmetrically and looks as if it was done without care. For two pathetic nails fix it costed me $20+. I've also tipped this time. Regardless if it's a full set or fix, your salon is trading your professional nail service for a payment. For a salon that charges a higher rate then most, you guys sure do a pathetic job. Not even bothering to check the length of your clients nails on both hands? Where's the professionalism in that. Update: Visited today to fix a nail which they messed up during a previous fix. NO customer service AT ALL and Sally decided to talk back when I mentioned to Sammy who was fixing my nails that she (Sally) didn't check length or bother finding the correct colour. Koodos to you, my co worker along with I will no longer visit your salon. I regret spending over a hundred dollars for a set of gel, waste of time "fixes" and one more thing to stress about. read more

Friendly, professional and outstanding work! I was traveling and was able to get an appointment immediately as they are well staffed!!! Thank you to Sally for providing her usual level of excellent service, while keeping me relaxed and giggling throughout my gel pedi. I came here for the first time today to get a quick manicure in preparation for a first date! The staff were friendly and notified me when a cancellation had occurred so I was able to get in earlier. Cons are: after being seated, I was moved to a pedicure chair with a pillow to make room for two other clients who wanted to be seated together. I thought this was unprofessional. I was here first, with an appointment! Also, I opted for regular polish rather than gel and was told to wait 10 minutes before leaving to let them dry which in my opinion is not necessary. They have lights for this reason, to speed up the drying process! But when I asked for that, she said 'no, just wait'. Pros: the nail tech was very good, always checking to ensure I was happy with the colour, length, etc. read more

I went to the pender location for a pedicure. The service was extremely rushed, I didn't get to soak my feet in water for longer that 90 seconds. The skin on my feet was scrubbed only after I insisted. They painted my toe nails and did an 'OK' job at that. No top coat was applied. The entire service took about 15 minutes. Such a pitty as I was looking forward to having a relaxing pedicure and leaving with beautifully soft feet. The price was less then $40. Two thumbs way down for offering a service and not delivering. read more

I posted a review but it has not been shared for some reason, so I am writing another review because I was not impressed. I got my nails done just before going on a trip. As soon as I landed to my destination my nails became discolored. I did not do any out of the ordinary activity with my hands to make the nails become brown and grey like that. The photo is posted, but I did not hear back from Poised as to why this might have happened or what they could do for me. I would not go back unless I had no other options. read more

I can't stop looking at my nails, they are perfect! This was the gentlest manicure I've ever had. I didn't get poked or scrapped once. My friend picked this location because it was centrally located. They got 3 of us in at the same time and each of us are delighted with the results. All regular manicures, no gels. It's busy and not a place to linger but there are plenty of post-manicure places near by to grab a bite and hang out. I will be back. read more

Came here for a pedicure before my holidays. The pedicure by the staff was great. She was super nice and helpful. The cleanliness is the reason why I would never come back here. The place doesn't look like it's been cleaned or maintained. We were the first clients of be day and there was dirt, hair, dust and nail paint everywhere. I was also looking for the machine that sanitizes the tools but there wasn't one. The way they cleaned the tools is to scrub them under running water with a used up nail brush and soap. Not the most effective at sanitizing. Looks like I won't be coming back here for another service. read more

I was very happy with my manicure at Poised Nails in Coal Harbour. I had been to this nail salon several times before when visiting in Vancouver. The quality of the service was excellent. Hey hey it's my birthday! @ least it was when I visited Poised nail lounge + spa. Thinking the birthday princess deserved a good (read $$) pedi and not some cheap chop shop, I decided to up the ante and check out Poised bc a) I had walked past there a few days earlier b) I'm a sucker for a 20% discount c) I wasn't quite willing to part with the small fortune being charged by some of the high end, local hotel spas. Yeah, I was happy for that 20% discount. Happy that the ladies in there were so nice. And happy that the place was clean. I was not happy that the essential elements of a good pedi weren't available to me. And by essential elements I mean... * Trashy and current fashion magazines * Good, strong foot and leg massage * Colour that stayed on long after I left the building. Infact, the colour on my manicure chipped within 24hours and I wasn't even using the computer and typing! And the colour on my pedicure lasted a total of 3 days. Needless to say, I won't be back. There are plenty of places to get a good pedi and mani in this town, cheap, cheerful and in between. Poised is not one of them. read more

Ya know, I love this place. I've been here twice and have had immaculate pedicures each time. It's funny, my pedicure costs less than those sleazy mall pedi's I used to get.. Never again. They take their time, too! And if you're in a hurry, they'll be quick as well. I asked her to really scrub my heels and she brought out this cool foot buffer that was basically a foot dremel, but without the mess. It just buffed my feet to hell in a good way. I was there for about 50 minutes and came out feeling like a new person (hey, cute toes are a must!) Lunchtime pedi's are the best, I must say. read more

Made an appointment today for a shellac manicure. It was pretty busy, I think due to it being a Monday (they do a discount on nails and waxing Monday and Tuesdays), so I waited about 10 minutes after I arrived. After that it took about 30 minutes for the whole shellac manicure, which is pretty fast from my experience. :D Definitely appreciated as I was doing it on a 1 hour lunch break. The 30 minutes also includes a very thorough arm & hand massage after the manicure. Overall, the technician was very careful and did a decent job, my nails feel and look super neat. :) That's pretty much all I need! They've also done a recent renovation of this location, so the environment is nice too. read more

I went to Vancouver last month to visit one of my good friends, and she wanted to have a girl's day of pampering. I'm not usually the type to go to a spa and spend money on getting my nails done, as i'd much rather do it at home, but this was really a great experience. In the past when i've gone to nail salon's in my neighborhood, i've always felt rushed, and like i'm paying for more than what i'm getting. Poised offers services at a decent price, and they really did a great job on our nails, and made us feel relaxed and at home. I decided to get gels on my nails...and my toes (which I guess people don't normally do, but I think it's worth it). The gel lasted for 2 weeks without chipping, so in my book, that's definitely worth the money! We had also gone on a Tuesday, which is apparently when they offer 20% off on most services. Being a Jew, I gotta love me a good discount :) read more

My opinion of this place extends only to their Pedicure service. The first pedicure I ever had here was with a girl named My. She was quite good with the service. My heels were very coarse and dry, so I requested she use the little handheld machine they have to "polish" my heels. My did it carefully and got every corner of my feet. I was happy about that. She applied good pressure during the massage, which I only wish had been longer and more thorough. The next pedicure I had was on a whim, so I had to see somebody else. It would have been fine, if she had done as good a job as My. Unfortunately, she didn't. She handled my feet like they had fungus growing all over them - with two fingers at times. Mind you, my feet are very well kept. Ask anyone. The massage was lazy and absolutely effortless. The pedicure lasted maybe 30 minutes and not a second more. Shame I didn't ask her name. I had no interest at the time. Thankfully, I went in a third time and got much better pedi service by Sabrina. Her massage was killer. I'd told her about my achy feet and she gave my calves a really good rub-down. Thanks, girl! Lesson learnt: PICK THE RIGHT ESTHETICIAN. Sabrina is fab. Do they work on commission? I hope they do. The pedicures cost $35++. read more

I tried this place for the first time this past weekend after being totally done with Pure. I have to say that I was really impressed with everything. I had a mani and pedi and actually ended up getting my hair blown out too. First of all, the price point was great. They have a deal right now where you and a friend can come in and both get mani/pedi for $35/each. That's really good value. She did a great job at both and I had the best foot/leg massage that I've ever had. They were very nice and it was nice and quiet so my girlfriend and I were able to just relax. I will definitely be going back and will recommend this place to all my friends. The only downfall would be parking. There's plenty of street parking available on Pender but it tends to be quite expensive. read more

I came here with my mom for Mother's day and we booked for the mani pedi combo. It's definitely a plus that you get to sit on a massage chair if you get a pedicure with them :) It was not expensive, just $45 for the combo! I was very impressed the 1st time as they did it in about an hour. We had a quick massage on our legs, feet, and arms. My mom go shellac on her hands for extra $10. The final product was very good for the both of us, and that's why I went back a 2nd time. Unfortunately, the 2nd time wasn't as good as the first time. My pedicure didn't look good, and whoever did my nails, didn't buff it out. When I took the nail polish off recently, I found the surface to be very scuffed up, similar to when you remove shellac and it's all fuzzy feeling. They also upped their price - so it's more than $45 which I didn't think was worth itt anymore. All in all, a little disappointed on the 2nd time, but very happy with the first. read more

my first time in getting hot gel nails done and they did not do a good job. The nails barely lasted two weeks (without doing any manual labour, i.e. house cleaning) and the first nail came off after one week. Nice and friendly staff but the salon needs a manager on site who can deal with customer issues and service recovery read more

Tested and true I have tried many manicure bars and this place beats them all! I absolutly love the clean and simple decor and the massage chairs are out of this world! The staff are friendly and the owner is a pure delight! I have never had a manicure/pedicure that has lasted so long and I can honestly say I will never go anywhere else. Recenlty they also started doing hair and I thought it was maybe time for a change. Now ladies, I have been going to the same hairdresser since I was 2 years old and I do not trust very many but I gave it a shot and could not have asked for a better cut and highlights. Everyone raved about it at work and a few of my collegues have gone since and been very impressed. A big two thumbs up to the ladies at poised! They really know their stuff!! read more

I've been there a few times already and I'm surprised they don't have a better rating. I got several manicures done there, as well as waxing. Everytime, the service was pretty great, the girl who did my nails seemed to really pay attention to what she was doing (as opposed to othre places I've visited in the past), as did the one who did the waxing. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the service you get and I'll definitely be going back! read more

I was in the area and came upon this nail salon and spa. It is a small salon with 2 chairs for hair style, two tables for manicures ( that seats 4-5) and 3 pedicure chairs. I called to see if they could take me walking in and got an appointment right away. I had a shellac removal and new shellac manicure service. I was given the choice of sitting at a table or having the service in the pedicure chair which I opted for. Great selection of nail polish colors. My technician was Lisa and she was great. Very polite and great skills. She worked quickly and answered all questions. Great hand massage at the end of the service. Overall great manicure at well kept salon. read more

I work around the area and decided to pop by during my hr long lunch break to get a quick manicure fix. I called in an hour ahead and they were able to accommodate to my schedule right away. When I arrived, they placed me in between two other girls on the same manicure table. Initially, it felt a little cramped and not what I was used to, but I realized that with the given amount of space they have in the store and the many different types of services they offer (ie. nail, pedicure, hair, and wax sections), they were already trying their best to fit everything in. My aesthetician was quiet, but very nice. I mentioned that I was time constrained, so she recommended that I do a shellac manicure instead, since it would dry right away. I also had brittle nails due to years of acrylic work done, so instead of buffing the surface even more, she only gently buffed it before applying the polish. Her work is very detailed with virtually perfect curves following the nail bed and no ugly streaks that usually show up if there is not enough time and the polish dries unevenly. Not to mention, she still managed to end our session with a killer hand massage. All in all, I am very satisfied with my first experience here. The total for manicure+shellac came to ~$37+tips. The quality of their work is fantastic and the staff there genuinely seem to love working there. I could overhear other regular customers come in and the staff would seamlessly pick up the conversation that was left during their prior visit. 5 stars for sure! read more

I am EXTREMELY picky with my nails- I am talking OCD, striving for flawlessness, overly critical in my post nail examination to the point I roll my eyes at myself (in my head). I was born with this and have always painted my nails myself- trapped in a perfect polish hell. Then I want the gel nail polish and recognize that this is a service that is beyond my capabilities. So I visit a few places, let them know my OCD nail sickness, and frustratingly stare at my imperfectly applied gel polish for a few weeks until I cannot stand it and start peeling off the polish. Then comes along Amy and her salon Poised.... I have never had the a more perfect application without the usually orange stick and alcohol to fix all the mistakes. The thumb by thumb then fingers by fingers technique won me over before I even saw the polish. She cares that her customers are nailiciously happy and trains her staff have the same care and attention. This is it... my Nailvana! read more

Unfortunately, I didn't get the opportunity visit here. I had sent an email inquiry to see if they could accommodate myself and 4 girlfriends for the following weekend. They had replied in an hour to say that they could accommodate, which was great. Their email mentioned they needed a credit card and a deposit of $100 to secure the date, which was fine since I was booking for a group of 5. Because I didn't want to send my credit card information by email, I called the number that was listed in the email (604-568-5690) and provided my credit card by phone. They took down my credit card and even read back my card information to me to confirm it was correct. So, thought everything was all booked. Come appointment time, I called (the same number that was already in my phone log) to say we'd be a few minutes late for our appointment and the girl on the phone said there was no appointment booked for me! She said she did see my original email inquiry but there was no deposit taken for it so it wasn't confirmed. She inquired if I had replied to the email and I advised that I didn't reply to the email because I had called in to provide my credit card information over the phone. Because it was the weekend, it wasn't possible to accommodate my group "last minute". I was really disappointed that someone dropped the ball on my appointment and now has my credit card information for no reason. It was embarrassing for me also cause I had told my group it was booked the weekend before and we planned our day around it. Safe to say I won't be coming here. read more

I've been consistently coming here since it opened 4 years ago. This is my 3rd home (my sisters comfy couch is my 2nd home). I really love little My, she always does a quick but very thorough job. I know how good nails look like since I have taken an esthetician course once upon a time, and let me tell u this Lil girl can do amazing nails. Kelly normally does my design on the days that I'm feeling fancy. They charge $35 for a shellac mani at their Coal Harbour location but sometimes when I'm in the Yaletown location I go on a Monday or Tuesday to take advantage of their 15% discount. I would totally recommend my 3rd home to everyone. You will get your money's worth. This place is clean, reasonably priced and all the girls are like family. read more
