Really cool ambiance here... food was very crisp and fresh and the staff was pleasant! I had a mochachino & pastry that was delightful. My wife enjoyed her salad and sandwich with soup. This is great place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the tourism trek & just relax & unwind for a minute. If you want a relaxing brunch or just a mellow coffee this is your stop!

Located in the Alfama area of Lisbon, Pois Cafe was a great oasis tucked along the side street. It's a very cozy and hipster feel which is lovely! You can sit anywhere you like amongst the various shared tables and couches. Food has decent portions and comes with a nice side salad. My sister and I stopped by for fresh fruit juice and a cheese plate. The fruit juice (yellow watermelon & pineapple) was delicious! The cheese plate was different than expected, more of a bread and dip, but still good! I think it was a chive, dill and red pepper mix of cheese dip. Pardon the photo crop, I forgot to get a real food picture and this is a grab from a video we took. Quick notes: They take credit card as well as cash. And the bathrooms are very clean!

Cute cafe located in Alfama. However, the food was okay - I wasn't wowed by anything here. Service though, was really good. Staff are extremely nice and friendly.

Great spot to take a break when you've been walking up and down the hills of Lisbon for quite a bit. This café is not far from the cathedral so I imagine they get quite a bit of tourist traffic. Had some coffee and cakes. The cake was delicious! Loved the chill vibe as well.

Spent my day adventuring through the Alfama district of Lisbon (which is the best part of the city in my opinion) & found this beauty of a cafe! The vibe is so relaxed. I've just sat & dwelled, reading and writing. And also slightly hoping somebody will sit down and play cards or chess with me! They have community tables and board games so it's super easy and fun to meat others! They have books everywhere. The food is fresh! One of the only places I have found hummus in Lisbon! This place is a gem!!

After all the heavy food during my stay in Lisbon, I just wanted a light fresh breakfast. Loved this place, great food, great staff. Priced very well, not rushed. Hope it stays like this. Go check it out. Became a daily must for me.

Great little café with lots of character. They have awesome food (I've loved everything I've had there). The place is sooo cozy, with large tables if you need to work, and comfortable couches if you're there to just relax. They have free wifi, which is always a plus. Definitely a place worth visiting.

This a wonderful cafe to take a break while exploring Alfama. They have stellar service and the sitting area is absolutely beautiful. There's a lot of space to lounge around/read a book/talk. And their interior is a cohesive assortment of eclectic pieces! Foodwise, they have a great selection of cakes and sandwiches. I would say their coffee quality is on par with most cafes in Lisbon. Would recommend grabbing a coffee!

Very unassuming cafe off a quite street. It's a good hideaway from the busy main streets. One of those places that you walk into and just feel like you belong. Staff is friendly, without being overbearing. Food is simple, but massive portions!!!

    Donau salad... delicious!

Cute, friendly spot. I was in Lisbon for two layovers and stopped here on both occasions. Once was around lunch time and the other was late at night. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Food is tasty. They get the international edition of The New York Times delivered daily. Grab the NYT, a coffee, treat, and plop yourself down on a couch here and you're basically in heaven.

Located next to the Lisbon Cathedral (Sé de Lisboa), great breakfast place, quality coffee, clean toilets, good service, little terrasse outside, free wifi, it's the perfect coffee shop to start your morning in Old Lisbon before starting your visit.

I loved the coffee with cream. The cheese and ham quiche was just what I needed this afternoon. Very friendly and open and airy.

What makes it special is watching the pastries being handmade right in front of you, which adds a level of freshness and craftsmanship that you can actually taste. The service was super fast and friendly. The pastel de nata came out perfectly, with that delicate flaky crust and warm custard that just hits differently when you know it was made moments ago. The espresso was equally impressive, rich and smooth, and the two together make for a simple but near perfect combination. If you are in the area, this is an easy and very satisfying stop.

The crust was super flaky and the tart was nice and warm out of the oven, but I didn't like the flavor of the custard. I did forget to add cinnamon to the top, but I don't think it would have helped me personally. The woman who stood next to me at the counter had a nearly orgasmic experience next to me, so it's obvious that my taste buds are apparently off. I loved the patience of the server, who got confused when I told her I wanted to eat in but wanted to take water to go. Note to self...Portuguese folks want to have their "to go" as "takeaway." What I also didn't know was that there was no place to sit!! I scooted down the counter just like all the other folks to watch the bakers prep the next gozillion pastries for the day. That was interesting. Then, I didn't know how to bus my dishes. I just left them on the counter like all the other folks and went away. I wouldn't skip going because of my personal taste buds, though. Enjoy it for yourself and let me know if you have a different opinion than I did!
