I called for the first time to ask what time my second appointment would be. A gentleman answered the phone by the name Richard and made my first call awkward. I wanted to confirm the time of the appointment and he said he didn't have access to the schedule (which is fine), but his demeanor was not very customer service like and welcoming. I had to explain that I'm sorry for possibly asking a confusing question but your company is still new to me. He ended the conversation by taking my information and assuring me another representative will contact me to answer my question. Pointe Pest Control has been called and people have reported the behaviors of the people out trying to sell their services and the tactics have not changed. Had a guy from Pointe Pest Control stop by unannounced and claim that everyone on my street was getting pest treatment for carpenter ants and that our home was in danger of infestation. After a quick web search it turns out this scare tactic is how they do business around town. So if they stop by and tell you of your neighbors are their customers, don't buy it. read more

I have been a customer for YEARS. I recently started seeing spiders and ants in my home. I called to ask them to come, after days of the run around...they finally scheduled me FOR 2 WEEKS OUT! That day was today. I rescheduled other appointments to be here and it is now 5:20pm and NO ONE has come. I tried to call and find out where they are, they couldn't tell me anything. They couldn't help me at all. All they did was offere 2 other phone numbers. Niether of which got me anyone but the person who gave me the alternate phone numbers! This is ridiculous! Where do I even begin, they have VERY pushy sales reps when they came knocking on our front door they said our whole block was getting the service (another lie) my parents don't speak very good English, they can't understand it very well when my dad said he only wanted a 1 time thing the sales rep said it was okay and would only pay 170 or something like that, turns out they trapped us into a year long contract. But that was just the beginning. We got the services done and we specifically stated we were going to pay in check, so I handed him a check (signed, dated, and everything) he even called 20 minutes later confirming that we paid in check. Weeks later we get a letter saying we OWE them $170? I called my bank and had a statement sent to me I could see that they cashed the check. When I Reached out I got no response. My review is based on their pushiness sales tactics and outrageous prices so i tried to be somewhat neutral. I have been living in my house 7 years. The only two times I've ever had a problem with ants was after they came knocking. I was quoted $500!! No problems at all at that time but next door neighbor lady just used them. I paid for one year of service in advance. It has been extremely frustrating to prevent the service contract from automatically renewing. Before you agree to their service contract, ask the door to door salesman and the company (call them) about their automatically renewing contract and cancellation fees. To prevent automatic renewal or a cancellation fee, you must submit a written request to not renew more than 30 days before the end of your current contract. There is no address in the contract so you must call them and get them to give you an address (the internet displays an address for the company here in Eugene, OR, but the building manager at that address states the company has never had an office there, they only arranged to have their mail sent to the building address and a non existent suite). Even after submitting a written request not to renew, you will get a phone call voicemail that states they cannot act on your request until you call them and speak to them (which you already did to get the address). After you call and speak to them, confirming that you do not want the contract to renew (be careful, they ask you several times if you want to "cancel" the contract, which results in a cancellation charge), in 30 or so days you will receive the same phone call voicemail stating that they cannot act on your request until you call them and speak to them. They will again try to get you to say that you want to cancel service. The service contract and their business model is set up to make it very hard to stop service and avoid paying them fees. Their staff is very well trained to hide this information and trap you into continuing service or paying to stop service. It is an aggressive, ugly business model. read more

Update 7/6/19 I finally received a call back and an exterminator came out. So far I'm pleased with the fact I'm not seeing ants! From one star to four! will update my review once some attempts at fixing the situation have been made by this company. I have ant problems at my home, it's older and even though we are super freaking clean we get ants. As silly as it sounds I have a phobia of ants and this want them effing gone! After trying everything under the sun before my landlord would get an exterminator I was sooo happy he got one. However, I would know how the service is since last Monday was our appointment we made around work schedules and no one sprayed anything! The sales guy advised us if it was okay with our landlord after he paid we could sign the paperwork for him. Our landlord said he'd prefer that and so we waited for the exterminator who came out just to tell us we couldn't have service until the landlord signed it. Cool no worries we will have him sign it (even though told otherwise but I get it!). Landlord signed it around 12:30pm that day, a few hours after appointment but we had to go to work and were advised by the exterminator our account manager would call to reschedule us. No call that day (Monday), Tuesday or Wednesday. I call Wednesday mid day and was told we will send a message you your account manager, nothing again. Thursday comes, I call and am told the same thing! I call again Saturday no answer, fine it's the weekend. I call 20minutes ago and I'm yet again told my account manager will call you to schedule an appointment, we're so sorry and will send another message. We shall see! read more

I'm getting calls from my neighbors about the door to door salesman, the gentleman is walking up to the door and either one super quiet tap on the door and walking away quickly or no knock at all just walks up looks around for a half second and walks away. No identification either. just a hat and a shirt but anyone could get a hat and shirt from goodwill and pose as a salesman to figure out who's home and who's not..... I've heard when the business is initiated by the customer the service is good but the door to door is hurting the local rep. read more

If I could give negative 5 stars, I would. Back in 2018 a door knocker sales men came over and sold us on their service, gave card info at that time and again on the day he was scheduled to spray, was told it would be $120 for a one time spray, the technician was late and not very professional but whatever I needed the job done. I wasn't impressed with their lack of professionalism so going forward I went with a different company. Fast forward to today (2022), I call to schedule another spray with them because my other company was booked super far out... I'm then informed my account was sent to collections (not once had they contacted me about this) now apparently I owe over $300 to collections!? I asked to speak with a supervisor about this matter and was denied and told to call the collections agency, which I did and had to fork over way more money than I anticipated to get this off my credit report. I am aware that once it's with collections there is nothing Pointe can do to reverse it but I still should have been able to speak with a supervisor about this, but was rudely denied. I work with new home buyers and give recommendations on these types of services and can assure you I will be letting all my clients know about this experience and save them from having the same situation. read more

This company almost cost the cancellation of a $700+K sale!!! I hired them in May 17th. On May 22nd I received a voicemail that my account was delinquent. I called to let them know that I have NOT received a bill! Oh yes we can see that they said! They sent an email that day. As it was the start of the Memorial Day weekend I was gone Thursday through Sunday. On Monday, May 27th I wrote a check and dropped it in the mailbox. On Tuesday the 28th I was told that my appointment for that day was cancelled due to non-payment!!! I called to tell them that payment was on the way and that pest control was part of the stipulation for the sale of the house! I was then informed that they CANNOT transfer the services to the new owners because of their "system"! There are several appointments scheduled to complete the service after transfer of the house! WHAT THE HELL DID I PAY FOR?!? I DO NOT recommend this company!!! They are unorganized and unprofessional! Please find a different, preferably LOCAL company! read more

Very very pushy. So busy telling me about my neighbors signing with them That they didnt have time to do a good job for me. Cameron showed up and I had pneumonia and I told him it was allergy related and I could go to my room or put a mask on and he could do the outside and the inside since the only reason I agreed was because they said $99. For both inside and out. I have had companies do half the job and they never come back to do the second half or they try to charge more, I didnt want that to happen. Finally I agreed to only do the outside, to my amazement he was finished and left within 15 min. Can u really spray and do a good job in 15 min? I hope so. I have never heard of this company and when I got a phone call from Cameron about these reviews within 10 min of him leaving my home. I said yes I will do them. Understanding I was sick as a dog and he didnt have time to talk to me cuz I was sick but he had time to hound me not once but 3 times to not forget these reviews. I finally hung up on him. I figure the more he harassed me, the longer this review was getting. PS to me a review should be on how well the company and their product does.. u cant know how well their product works 5 min after they spray it on.. I told the group of guys that were here yesterday I was not interested as I have absolutely no need for their services then today my mom answered the door and she said the same thing to a rep who was by himself today and then he verbally harassed her with some foul language. So far not good at all. Traps were placed under the house after it was sealed up...OK maybe but not at all where the rats are residing which is in the roof of the carport. They did not even identify the opening under the eaves as a possible location when everyone tells me that is a very common site for rats. I am so pissed at their sales people. Two days in a row I had one of them knocking AND ringing the doorbell after 7pm, I have two very young children who go to bed early and a protective dog. The first person I was nice to and kindly referred to my no soliciting sign that is clearly posted and he left. TERRIBLE SERVICE! I was quoted $900 as part of the initial service contract that I signed stating they would address the rodent problem using weekly traps and doing enclosure work (sealing up cracks and access points). TWO YEARS later, after calling repeatedly, they FINALLY came and closed the access point in the attic. I would have dealt with the access point myself but I was told I couldn't or it would violate the terms of the contract. Without the ability to deal with the hole in the attic myself and them refusing to take care of it, I had no recourse but to call repeatedly and request they complete the work they promised to provide. Today, I was told that "they provided the services they agreed to provide (albeit 2 years later) and they have no record of my repeatedly calling them". I pointed out that the contract even said they would close the hole in the attic but apparently, because they didn't find a photo of the hole, they refused to uphold their OWN WRITTEN CONTRACT stating they would fix the hole. They provide awful customer service (not the technician, the administrative part of the company). Don't ever use this company. EVER! And looking at the past reviews, it seems this is their MO, to screw people over by taking their money but not providing the service. TERRIBLE! read more

Told me that my neighbors are getting treated, that there is an outbreak of Hobo Spiders and Ants etc.... and he had a 'great price' for me if I signed up...I was kind of interested but he kept on talking and talking and talking and then asked me for additional information...I told him that I would fill out the form and leave it for him to pick up in the morning...again more talk...then more talk...then I said...'you just lost a sale"...I closed the door to hear him mumbling something...then.... the next night.. POUNDS on the door at 8:30P.M,...not only was the mumbler there but he had another guy with him...I said..."NO...you need to leave now...!!!" He almost got a cuffin' upside the head....good thing I was wearing my Capt. I've been very happy with these guys. I was having an issue with mice that needed to be delt with. I received quotes from two other companies. One wanted $900 and the other $2100! Pointe charged $250 up front and $90 each quarter for the next year. They were good about keeping the appointments. They were also friendly and professional. Not only did they take care of the mice problem but they also sprayed the outside of the house for bugs. I would highly recommend this company. read more

We had a situation where a representative/solicitor contacted a resident of a home I own for Autistic adults. The resident authorized treatment without contacting the appropriate personnel in the program, and pest control measures were performed. I contacted Pointe Pest Control to express my concerns about door to door pest control sales and stop any further treatment scheduled and to explain that autistic individuals can be very sensitive to these chemicals. The representative of Point Pest Control was accommodative, appropriate and generous with the resolution offered. I was very satisfied with the outcome. Though I think door to door sales of pest control is ill advised, I believe this company strives to maintain integrity and perform a conscientious service. read more

Wish I had read the previous reviews before hiring this deceptive company. When the first person came out, she asked if it would be ok if she didn't remove the wasps nests. Thinking she knew what she was doing (she's the pro, right?), I said ok. A few days later the wasps were back. I called the company and asked why she didn't remove the nests. I was told that they like to wait a few days after they spray and that they would schedule an appointment to remove the nests. Hmmm, why was this not explicitly explained to me at the beginning? The second rep just left my home, after DOING NOTHING. After checking with her supervisor, she said they were not allowed to remove the nests. What? Why was this not explained to me from the outset? Why did the rep on the phone explicitly say they come out after a few days to remove the nests? Also, my appointment was for "after 3pm" today, as I work from home and have online meetings. It is currently just before 11am. What if I hadn't been home? This is ridiculous and I still have wasp nests. What a sham. What a lying deceitful company. read more

As with Leah S., Ferriss O. and Greg D. the street lizard was way too aggressive in talking to my wife (most of these lizards will say anything to ladies and back down when the husband comes to the door) however he stated that they had a 100% money back guarantee and these ants was a real problem for my wife so I took him up on the offer and for 2nd threw the the 4th month I had no ants I WAS IMPRESSED, however I have called them out 4 times as the ants came back I am however waiting for them now going in 8 days to fulfill their contract my wife now tells me that when they came out they only sprayed the area where the ants were present. I am going to order more of the sonic devices that I use for mice as they say they will work for ants as well. I really do not like to bad mouth a company but when they say there are going to do something and I pay them to do it they now work for me and I have the right to tell my experience good or bad. I have a large "No Soliciting" sign as well as a sign requesting that noone knock or ring the doorbell due to a sleeping baby and upsetting our dog. These were both disregarded and the male both knocked AND rang the bell, simply to tell me he was " in the area" and was servicing neighbors' ant problems. I was outside doing yardwork when one of these Pointe Pest Control sales people approached me, on my property, to sell me on their pest control. I politely told the young man that I am not interested. He continued to try to sell me after I stated that I was not interested. Again I advised him that we treat our own ants and that I do not need his service. He kept up with the hard sell as if I had not said anything at all. This went on for several minutes. I can't help but think he would not have done this to a man. He would have never kept on and on trying to sell had he been talking to my husband. This is a very poor business practice and I ended up having to raise my voice to get off my property just to get in to leave. As a woman I find this very frustrating and I would never use this service or recommend them to anyone based on this interaction. Soliciting door to door with high pressure after you have been asked to leave five times is poor business.
