Picked up a number of packages here last December '12, the owner (Kay) gave me the total of 15 usd. I gave her a twenty dollar bill and she hands me the change. We chatted for a bit, because I removed each of my items from their boxes, &even showed her some of the presents I got for my 4 year old.. Only after I've loaded all my packages in my car, & I was about to start the ignition, she comes running out, saying there's been a mistake. One of my packages was just slightly bigger &weighed not more than 6 lbs -so she needed 3 dollars more for that... No apology, no anything. So with a "smile", I gave her what she asked for out the car window. Cash only. Recently, raised the price from 2.50 to 3 usd a package (on top of the annual fee of 10 dollars). Oh & just a warning, there's a cardboard disposal at the front and if you flatten the box by stomping it, you will get an angry email (all caps & exclamation marks) and fined with 2.00 usd/stomped box. I don't think I'll be using this again. There are cheaper options in Point Roberts and clearly more professional ones (Hagen's along Post Portal Dr)nearby.

But what I definitely was not expecting was the excellent customer service! It appears to be family run and not only we we taken care of right away, everyone who Came through the door was attended to pretty mu chi immediately! We did have to wait for of documents to print out but the shop had many interesting hand crafted items from a variety of local vendors. They also have P.O. Boxes and packing and shipping services! Highly recommend and I will definitely come back here before going into Bellingham for similar services!

You see like many Canadians & vice versa Americans, we were severely impacted by the border closure in effect since mid March 2020! Have I told you about how much I hate bats!!? S*#'! I began to wonder if I would ever be able to pick up my orders or would they be lost forever ... maybe even end up on one of those 'unclaimed items' auctions you see on TV!? 'Hey that's my 85" TV about to be sold off!' LOL. Land crossings at the border finally reopened last week. Yahoooooo!!! Cheesecake Factory - I missed you soooooo much! You see its cheaper for Canadians to set up mailboxes just across the border & receive parcels this way as a means of avoiding paying high duty! Items going through a customs inspection are charged a dreaded 'customs fee' & it ain't cheap! I am still required to declare everything I bring back to Canada to the border agents - when driving back up. But the point being - it's way cheaper this way & I save quite a bit in duty & fees! This was part of the email MBI sent out back in 2020 to all users, when the pandemic effects started to drag on ... "We have signed a short term lease on a new warehouse just down the street from us to create more room for your parcels! This increased our storage space immensely. We're continuing to keep free storage until the border opens back up." A sign of just how much the backup of parcels was occurring! Look at the ports of most waterfront cities today - major backlog of shipping containers stuck on ships unable to dock because of labour issues brought on by the pandemic. Sorry but you might not get your Christmas present from Santa this year. I'm so ever grateful to MBI, that all my orders were well taken care of. I picked up everything I ordered over the last 20 months with no issues! Keep in mind that with each coming month a new Coronavirus variant is being discovered - which could mean even more border restrictions!!! So act now or be subject to variant #54, virus #27 & wave #95 restrictions!!! Yikes! It would be funny if it almost weren't true ... so this is the point at were you start ... crying! *Hot tip alert* - you can use WiFi here & fill in your details on the ArrivCan App just before heading to the border! Extremely helpful, friendly, and so on top of the technology ie setting up files for print. (Try using Kinko's, and then after you've put your head through the wall out of frustration, try using Jas.)
