I discovered them in 2013 when we bought a house in Semiahmoo. What a treasure to find! They never charged me for supplies I needed or extra fee for holding a parcel I was expecting. They found used boxes for me for my packing and moving, and always provided friendly service. The four women there are beyond exceptional and always made me feel welcomed and appreciated. There is absolutely no comparison with the Blaine UPS store, which charges much higher shipping costs (at their whim; not UPS), blames the customer for their manager and staff errors, and engages in "We are right; you are wrong" attitude. I refuse to even go into the UPS store under the change of management a number of years ago. Maybe okay for a pre-paid quick drop off (like Comcast equipment); but not for service for your own shipping. Blaine Postal Center, you are the BEST! Memberships are still FREE (just paying the per package rate), but the pick up time is going to have to be moved to 30 days. We will still have the option to keep packages here for 90 days, but there will be a membership fee of $24.00 per year. By default, your account will be put on the free 30 days pick up period. If you would like to opt in to the 90 day pick up with the membership fee, please reply to this email and let us know. This policy will be enacted October 1st 2023. Any packages that are already here WILL be subject to this so please make the necessary arrangements if you do not want to incur any late fees. April 2023 Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control, we will have to raise our package receiving prices for the first time in 12 years. I am a Canadian customer and after the announcement that the US/Canada border was finally opening, I tried to contact MOB only to find out that they have closed their business with absolutely no notification to their customers. I won't even get into how I was able to track this down, but the packages are indeed somewhere - at the UPS Store on H Street in Blaine. (phone: 360-306-3159, address: 1733 H St, Ste 450, Blaine) I got in contact with the UPS Store and the wonderful staff there have been nice enough to try and sort through the hundreds of packages that MOB have abandoned. They are trying to create a process to get people their packages, but as anyone who used MOB knows, there was not much of a process in place other than giving your name and showing a piece of ID. They are doing their best to sort through the mountain of packages and need a little bit more time to develop a system. They were absolutely shocked that there was no contact information for MOB's customers and are at a loss of how to try and contact people. Obviously this is EXTREMELY important to know as there are con artists out there. And to trust someone to pick up your item and drop it at your house means you need to know that the person isn't going to drive off with it. Eric will ask you to text the receipt for your item so he can show it to the business (ie: Canadian Tire). If he is dropping off the item at your house and you won't be there, he will ask you to e-mail him to give your permission. He will give you a window of time when he is going to drop off the item and will call to let you know if there are changes in times. He will give you a quote but it depends on how heavy the item is. If it is a barbeque that is maybe 50 or so pounds, the quote is about 49.00 but it will cost more for heavier items, which is fair. He moved a metal garden shed for us that weighed over 300 pounds that we couldn't move in our small vehicle. We were charged $118.00. The delivery was prompt, Eric took great care moving the item to the back, and closed the heavy gate that I couldn't move, to keep the item secure. He was polite and gave me a detailed receipt. Eric can have a terse, business-like manner on the phone but do not take this to be rudeness. Wouldn't you rather have an honest, upfront person to deliver your item, rather than someone who might sound 'nice' but who breaks your item, is careless, or who doesn't even show up? For people who can't move things on their own because they don't have a truck or if it's too heavy, Eric is a trusted person to do the job for you.
