NEVER use Pods. Period. Our experience has been horrible and is ongoing despite having completed our move last month. The company overall is set up so there is never any accountability. I was just told by and employee they cannot give an employee ID number or anything identifying other than their first name. It is done purposefully so you are not able to talk to the same person twice and attempts to speak with supervisors have gotten us nowhere. Below are the list of issues we have had and I am not exaggerating when I say this isn't an extensive list. 1. We were told they would deliver to our house then later they refused saying it was icy. It was not, my brother who is not a professional driver had just backed an empty 26ft uhaul up the driveway with no issues. Their refusal caused us a delay in when we left plus several thousands of dollars more in expenses (uhaul rentals, a second full day of labor, gas, motel rooms because we had to stay longer to unload the uhaul into the Pod at their center). 2. We were told verbally there was 10k in insurance for property damage. However when you read the contract it is 5k per Pod. Even with that, we have not been able to get them to pay out anything and every single piece of our furniture has been scratched or damaged. one tv stand the top is coming off of it, a lamp was completely ruined, repairs had to be done to both the washer and dryer before they could be used, refinishing of one item is costing us $400. The reality is 5k wouldn't replace it all but it appears like we will get nothing. We filed the forms for an investigation and were never contacted by the investigator. I have photo proof of all the damages but no one will get back to us. We simply received an email saying the claim was denied. 3. Lost Pod, we had in a cross country move. We had so many issues with them prior that two days before they were supposed to deliver to our new home I called and was told there were only two. The third one was canceled. This third Pod has been an issue over and over. It did get delivered but that was due to the work of the driver who was familiar with these type of issues and said they happen all the time. I had the number of the Pod so he was able to find it at the warehouse. Same thing happened with pick-up. It wasn't assigned to us so they weren't going to pick it up. 4. Our Pods were picked up and we thought we were done with them completely on 12/23/22. I just found charges for the month of Jan-Feb of 2023. Over $500 worth of charges. Their website is set up so that you CANNOT remove your credit card from their system. I tried it the middle of December because I was afraid of this happening. 5. Customer service: overall the people were kind and doing the best they could within a crappy company however we were hung up on three times by employees. And as mentioned previously supervisors are not responsive. They are not returning phone calls or emails. read more

Used Pods to move from California to Idaho. They were originally scheduled to deliver on 4/22. They called and rescheduled to 4/23 because they wouldn't be in town in time. So here we are on 4/23, never received a delivery window. Have called multiple times and no one can help. They keep calling the storage place who won't answer. The system hasn't been updated with our delivery window. One of the pods says it's still in California on the website so now we don't even know if it's lost. We're about to start new jobs which I need what's in the pods for it. We have no beds. No furniture. Nothing. And pods won't give us a straight answer. Tomorrow is Sunday in which they're closed so the soonest we can probably get now is Monday, if they are even here. Terrible customer service. You can't even get hold of someone local to tell you what's going on. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. find something else. read more

I recently called PODS to store items from a cabin we are emptying. The only number for PODS is to a call center in Clear Water Florida. I had looked at the Spokane PODS service area and it covers North Idaho. The call center employee asked for my zip code. She told me they do not service Coolin Idaho and the closest they would deliver a POD was in the Spokane area. She was very scripted on what she would say and seemed to care little about customer service. I rechecked the service area and attempted to locate a local telephone number for their office at 3808 N. Sullivan Rd. in Spokane Valley. I could not find one. I called PODS again at the call center and asked to speak with a supervisor. I wanted a local number. This employee said she had to know the reason for my call. She told me supervisors were not available for inquiries such as mine. She said the Spokane PODS does not take calls from the public and decides where they service. End of call. PODS is terrible for customer service. I have used PODS in the past and this is no longer the same company. Looking at YELP reviews, not the "AD" reviews, it seems many others are dissatisfied with PODS. read more

There are lot of choices in moving out there and I am glad I choose Pods. They have a great website, great customer service at the facility, the drop off crew was amazing, easy to phone and talk with a human, great drivers for delivering Pods. And good recommendations for people to help load and unload the Pods. I can't think of one thing that was damaged or broken in the move from San Diego, CA to Elk, WA. Don't use this company!! My personal belongings are being held hostage and I continue to be charged monthly for storage fees!! The individuals at the locations may be great but you can't get in touch with them. Details below. We chose them because they said they could deliver to our final destination, but could only confirm that AFTER it was at the Spokane storage location since it is ultimately up to them. Since living here we have SEEN a pod delivery in a driveway in town. The customer service rep said that there is usually no problem with the size we chose. We paid for the final destination and 7 months of storage. In April when we were trying to schedule delivery, we called 3 times with promises of phone calls within 3 business days. Never received a return call. I tried again and told the rep I was committed to calling them back on the 4th day if I heard nothing. Shockingly I heard nothing and had to call. When I did, magically an email was sent out just then declining our destination request. I asked to escalate to a supervisor. They responded by talking with the rep-- not me. Basically said too bad. They already took well over $3000 plus 3 additional months of storage costs-- $600+ and my only choice is to pay an additional moving company to get it all. Fine with me to use someone else since this company isn't trustworthy-- but PODS should be paying for the delivery OR giving some of my money back. Since I can't get in touch with the actual location nor with any supervisor to negotiate my situation our only recourse is legal involvement. Stupid stupid company. We used the PODS company during a remodel project. They delivered the unit exactly where we wanted it. We were able to access our things for the two months we had it in the driveway. When the project was complete, we called them and they came and picked up the unit. They did give us a short time frame as to when they would deliver and pick up but we didn't need to be there. I used Pods for a move to Tennessee. All went well until my pod arrived at my home in Tennessee. The pod was placed at the bottom of my sloping driveway. The driver unloaded it and immediately left. When I went to open it, it had not been placed on a level surface and the door wouldn't open. The driver was long gone and I was on my own. Finally my husband used his car jack to raise the corner of the pod and with no small amount of difficulty We finally raised the pod enough to open the door. Poor customer service. read more

This was our third move with PODS but it'll definitely be our last. We were moving across the country with 3 PODS. We were already in transit across the country when PODS was supposed to pick up our last POD. They called us and said they were ready to deliver the empty POD. We explained that we didn't need an empty POD that they were supposed to be picking up a full one. Neighbors confirmed that the POD was gone. Fast forward a couple of weeks when it was time to deliver the PODS to our new address and 2 PODS were delivered. We inquire about the whereabouts of the 3rd POD and are told it's ready to be dropped off to be loaded. Again we tell them it's already been loaded and should be all the way across the country by now. We are then told to please give them a week to find it. Seriously! After many phone calls we are told our POD is still all the way across the country and will take 10 days to get here. 10 days we have to go without the last things we packed- all of our essentials needed to work from home and start living in our new house. To make matters worse, they can only pick up 1 POD from our new house in a timely manner resulting in a fine from our HOA. When we addressed these issues with PODS, they said they would do something to help make-up for the situation but haven't responded since then. This is not the way to treat any customer, especially a repeat customer. We are so disappointed and frustrated with PODS. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. They seemed great at first but they quickly went downhill. We spoke to a sales agent for at least an hour explaining our situation and what size would fit best. They recommended a smaller size than we anticipated and assured us that it would be the right fit. When we finally had it delivered (late and in the wrong spot) we opened it to find out that it was much smaller than we were told. They failed to mention that the dimensions were the outside of the POD and it didn't include some of the insulation and other features which took up space making it much smaller. We called immediately letting them know this wasn't going to work and entered a bigger size. They were going to charge us another delivery and pickup and some other fee they tacked on to fix their mistake. Never mind the fact that it wasn't delivered when they said so we were several days behind on our move. We said no thank you come get your POD we will take our business elsewhere. We were told we would get refunded but once it had been picked up they refused. Absolutely ridiculous and the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Don't waste your time. There are other companies who do the same thing and care about their customers. read more

As explained below: If you want your stuff moved, do not deal with this company who will try to extort additional money from you after they have your things. That being said, the local franchisee owner seemed very helpful and genuinely upset how corporate "PODS" treats its customers. My wife ordered a container to be dropped off at my current home and shipped to my new home about 5 hours away. She was quoted a price of $350 for this service. This price included $250 for use of the container and $100 for delivery to the area where we were moving. She was told that she would only need to give PODS the address in the area when we called to have PODS pick up our container. We thought this was a great deal because a Uhaul for the same distance about about $400. After I packed the container at my home, PODS picked it up. That same day we called to give PODS the specific address for delivery. Customer service informed me that it would be $1,151 more than previously agreed to ship it. They said that we had only requested storage. We asked to review the tapes of the conversation, they refused. We asked to speak to a supervisor, they refused. Feeling like I had no choice but to pay the additional $1,151, I paid. They charged my credit card but did not deliver on the date promised. When I called and asked why they said I would need to sign a waiver which included the right to sue them where I lived. I refused to sign. I then asked them to refund the money so I could hire someone else to move my stuff (at the price they were charging me now ($1,600ish), I could have hired a full service mover for the short move). They refused to refund my money. I hired another company to move my stuff anyways and they refused to tell me where it was located (even though the location is available online). They then refused to give me access to my stuff. I would have had to reschedule the move had a not got a hold of the local franchisee owner who was kind enough to give me access to my things. All in all, pods cost me about $3,000 more than they had promised (with the cost of hiring someone else to do the job) and a great deal of stress with not getting my stuff delivered on time. read more

I live in an apartment complex where everyone goes to work about 8am or later just as most people do in the world. So pods schedules my delivery at 730 to 1030 am and shows up at 730. There is no place to park so I have a 16 foot pod on the other side of the building.The driver told me they often deliver here. My reply was that you should know there will be no parking at this hour. I paid $4000 for such inconvenience. Thanks Pods. Right about the time he has it unloaded some one moves and I ask the guy to move the Pod closer. He says he has to make another delivery and refuses. You can say that I should have called in but you were closed on WEDs and the schedule call did not come to me until the evening before. Yep this is how you work, I understand your rules but they are not geared to help a client. You just pick up the stuff and deliver. No consideration included. It will now cost me extra time for the movers to unload because of the distance. The driver suggested I have them deliver on another day. I have already waited 5 days and would have to pay an upcharge to change the unload date. You can erase this from FB but I will put it other places you cannot erase it read more

Using Spokane PODS has been the most positive thing about our move. Originally we stored with PODS because we were having a home built. That fell Through, everything changed. David Henry was our delivery/pickup guy. He was on time every time. Under promised, over delivered. David was very accommodating for every request we made. We recommended PODS to our neighbors, there is a Pod in their driveway and they too are very pleased with David representing PODS. We chose pods after realizing that with little kids, the flexibility of having time to load up and then unload on the other end made more sense than doing one big load/move/unload day. So we went with Pods. MISTAKE. It started out fine although we got the run around from the local company wanting to 'beat' the price of the national reservation line which ended up not happening and frankly we did not care about anyway. First pod showed up and we loaded it. We wanted to schedule a day to have them pick that one up and bring a new. We were told 4 days for transit to our new house. We wanted it there friday but they could not pickup monday so we said fine, we'd hold pod #1 and ship together with the second one. MONDAY morning they show up to trade the pods. We sent them away because we were not done packing since we thought they were not able to come that day. Pod #2 now sits in our driveway and we called to schedule delivery hoping for a monday or tuesday pickup next week with friday delivery. We were then told that they can't get it there with that timeframe and they have to pick up THURSDAY of this week which means it takes them over a week to deliver on the other end. And it makes a pretty significant difference for us packing and living from suitcases to lose 4 days including a weekend. So, PODS is HORRIBLE. The concept is great but the reality does not deliver. We'd be better off having packed, lived with boxes in our house, and then had a pickup/delivery at our new home when we actually wanted it. read more
