We self-loaded our pod at this location. Everything worked out but initial instructions were clumsy. We were told conflicting information over the phone. When we arrived, no one present in the main office. Eventually, I drove to the rear where I was informed that I needed to talk to the person on the fork lift. After all the confusion, we loaded our pod. The forklift told us that the pod would be transported that night which was contradictory to the person over the phone. The rep over the telephone told us we could keep loading until we scheduled the transfer. It ended up not being an issue as we got everything there in one visit with a Budget 16ft truck. Also they close the loading zone at a certain time and we weren't given that time until earlier that day. Luckily, I booked our rental truck and task rabbit helpers before that time but we only had 30 min to spare. All in all, Pod experience was good. I have to say my experience with PODS was is a five Star review . From placing the Oder, Delivery, and working with Customer Service Reps. for a few pick up attempts due to weather conditions. Joesph delivered, James last attempt prior to actual pick up, and Noel pick up Driver. All were pleasant, polite ,professional and well groomed. I've never in my life wrote a review for any place that I've been to but I felt obligated to write one for how horrible this experience was. The absolute worse customer service team I've ever dealt with, I was told multiple different things on when I can pick my pod up to when it will be delivered to even tracking it. It took almost 3 weeks to deliver the pod 1500 miles and I was told there would be a delay on the day it was suppose to be delivered, just to find out it was actually delivered on time. Once I found out the pod had arrived in Melrose, they then told me the location would be closed the ENTIRE WEEKEND and I wouldn't be able to get my pod until Monday ( initially the customer service rep told me I wouldn't be able to pick up my things until the following weekend). Then I asked if I could have the pod delivered directly to my new apartment and they said it would be $500 which was $100 more than the initial estimate before I declined the delivery service. AND the delivery would also be the following week. I tried to go to the Melrose location to see if I can load my pod up the same day it was delivered and guess what, not a single soul in the entire facility (hours are Mon-Sat 10am-2:30pm and I was there at 1pm on a Friday). I'm writing this to warn anyone wanting to use pods in general, it is the worse scam of all time. You're better off moving yourself or hiring a moving company, anything but this horrible scam of a company that outsources all of their customer service resulting in the extreme lack of knowledge about how the company works. DO NOT USE PODS MOVING AND STORAGE COMPANY. I have made several cross country moves and have dealt with all kinds of issues while making those moves. Not once have I had the SEVERE problems that I experienced with Pods and perhaps even more importantly, not once have I received such horrible, condescending and manipulative customer service in my life while trying to rectify these issues. I say this as someone who has gone through many negative experiences with different companies yet has never written a negative review for a moving/storage company because I understand that things happen and people make mistakes. However, I feel compelled to alert consumers who may be looking into using Pods as a service of my experience so they can choose a different company that has some semblance of respect for their customers. I don't want this review to take forever to read, and it would if I listed all of the issues I've had with Pods over my three years of using their service for both storage and moving, so I'll try to highlight the major mistakes they've made recently. BEWARE, THEY DO NOT FOLLOW ANY OF THE INFORMATION ON THEIR WEBSITE OR THE INFORMATION THAT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES GIVE TO YOU REGARDING PROTOCOL. For example, I placed an order with them to move my Pod from the West Coast to the East Coast, noting on the phone that I wasn't entirely sure that the second location was finalized. They assured me that as long as I called within 24 hours and updated it, I would be refunded my money (close to $4,000) and only charged for the updated move location. I called within 24 hours, as the customer service representative stated, and changed the location to a much closer city. The difference in price for the shipment was over $1,000. Again, I was assured that as the first order was canceled within a timeframe to incur no penalty, I would be refunded my almost $4,000 original estimate and then charged for the lesser amount. This did not happen. In fact, I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THAT MONEY BACK FROM PODS. I called customer service four times regarding this issue, was reassured over and over that the money would show up any day until on my final follow up call, I was told that I would not receive that money until days after my Pod was delivered to the final location and picked up. I was also told that although originally I had been promised not to be charged Pod Rent for that month, given that my Pod had spent a total of 3 days in one of their storage facilities, they had already deducted a full month of rent (over $350) from the amount I was supposed to have already been refunded. Ash, that customer service rep, said that the four other people I'd spoken to confirming the exact opposite of everything he said were wrong and his hands were tied. We spoke for over two hours and an hour after telling me he couldn't do anything whatsoever to help me, somehow, he "remembered" a ten day rule that MAY allow me to get back the money for half a month rent and that it was up to his discretion. I continued asking questions and pointed him to how what he was saying went directly against what was stated on their website, to which he said that I was reading it wrong. I've worked in Crisis PR for almost a decade. I help Fortune 500 companies write the copy for the websites in conjunction with attorneys to ensure clarity. I did not read it wrong, he just decided to lie to me. I asked more questions and in response, he continued to put himself on mute. When I stopped talking, he would go off mute and not answer the questions I just asked, but instead laugh and seemingly mock me. One of these times, he thought he put himself on mute but did not, and I heard him making fun of me on the call. I have NEVER, and I genuinely mean NEVER, been shown such disrespect by a company I spent over $15,000 with. When dropping off my Pod, I wrote as many instructions as I could in the limited amount of space they gave me. I wanted to also attached a photo to help, but they told me that wasn't allowed. I was assured I would receive a call from the driver when they were on their way after they provided a 4 hour window the night before drop-off. I NEVER received a phone call. They didn't update that they had dropped off the Pod on my Pod account website. I would have never even known it had been dropped off in entirely the wrong spot at the storage facility had the wonderful facility manager not called me directly. She had gone outside waving her arms at the truck in order to try to help direct them to the right area and instead, they blatantly drove right past her while looking at her. When I called Pods to ask 1) why I hadn't been called as it promises on their website, 2) why it was put in entirely the wrong location of where I had written it be dropped off and 3) what they could do to try and help the situation, yet again, I ended up thoroughly disgusted. I also paid the additional insurance option. Quality: failed to measure space needed (which made using PODS more expensive and less timely than the movers); failed to deliver within allocated time; almost every antique piece I own was damaged by PODS movers; PODS failed to provide coverage to repair, claiming I reported more than 30 days - whereas much of my furniture was in storage (for which Pods also failed to pay, although supposedly offered 1 month of storage per container) Value : negative 100%, as this experience has devalued my possessions entirely. read more

This has been a nightmare. From my initial call to set up service, the customer service agent could not get ahold of the depot where my stuff would be stored before delivery. A week before my scheduled delivery I requested to change the delivery address. The customer service representative tried to call the depot to confirm the change. They told me to follow-up so I did, 3 more times before my delivery date. Each time the customer service representative said they were waiting to hear back from the depot. My partner called the day before our scheduled delivery and got the address changed. We were lead to believe the delivery would still take place on the scheduled day. The day before the delivery I never received a delivery window. My partner called them and they swore the container was on its way and was stuck in traffic. At 6pm that night they called and said the container never left the depot and it wouldn't be delivered for another 3 weeks. I called customer service again today about week later and asked why the depot never confirmed the address after trying for a week, and I was told they are too busy to answer the phone or email and that it's not their job to confirm the address. So I asked politely then whose job was it and why did it take a week to change in the system? They said there's nothing they can do for us. Very frustrating and disappointing. The POD arrived without the 15 furniture pads I ordered so I had to use towels and blankets to protect all of my furniture. They still charge me every month for the pads and I need to call their awful customer service every month. I used Pods to put my basement in storage while it was being renovated following a flood. I live in a large city. The pick up was fine but took a bit longer than estimated. As the renovation was wrapping up I called Pods to schedule the return of my storage pod approximately THREE WEEKS in advance. However, Pods informed me they are "very busy" and there was no availability until a much later date that did not work (family vacation), and if that one date did not work there was nothing else available in September or October. Or, they gave me the option to hire a truck, drive to the Pods storage location and unload the storage pod myself on-site. INSANE. So these people will not return my stuff on any reasonable timetable and will charge for storage in the meantime? This is not how the business was advertised or explained to me. Avoid this business at all costs. UPDATE: Pods replied to my post right away (below), but I responded to them immediately and have yet to hear anything back. Do not take the corporate reply below to mean that they care about customer service or took care of my problem. They absolutely did not. Horrible! First POD they delivered leaked water. They took it back and delivered another one that was defective and the door wouldn't open. They said they couldn't fix it and would also have to pick that one up and bring another one. at this point I said forget it, refund my money. I was scheduled for delivery of my POD today and spoke with customer service 8 times. I was reassured the delivery would happen today multiple times. My delivery time window came and went with still no delivery. I heard from the delivery driver who promised me that he would be here in about an hour. I stressed to him the importance of him getting here today because my street is narrow and today is my side of the street cleaning so the driver would have had more room to maneuver his truck and POD. I had movers scheduled for tomorrow to unload my POD which I have had to cancel. I had to pay a cancelation fee since it was less than 24 hours and I have also paid for a street permit. My last call to customer service today I asked to speak with a manager. The rep would not connect me w/ a manager. Instead she supposedly spoke to her manager on her end and then the manager told the rep I should be calling a different person. The rep gave me another name and phone number to call. It was not even clear if this was a manager to contact. The rep said she didn't know if the new contact was a manager. The rep then connected me to his VM. I was put on hold and then the line disconnected. I called this new contact and his VM said "he had changed departments and to call the regular customer service number for help". HA! What a joke. This company is happy to take your money but they have horrible customer service once you have paid for the POD. Right now I am so frustrated and stressed. I have no idea if anyone will even call me tomorrow to reschedule. I just went online to check my account and my scheduled delivery is completely gone. Now it says "Schedule Delivery". When I go to reschedule now, the first available date is a week from now! Are you kidding me? Total joke. Do not use this business! Don't waste your money. Absolutely horrible communication and customer service. We requested a delivery for this last Saturday (requested 4 days before on Wednesday). We were told on Friday that we'd be given a delivery window for Saturday by 6pm. Comes and goes, they tell us we'll get one by 8pm. Comes and goes. Call the next morning (day of scheduled delivery), they say the POD will be delivered by 6pm. Comes and goes. Will definitely be there by 7pm. Not there. Told finally that it won't show up on Saturday, and they don't know what happened. Reschedule for Tuesday. They'll definitely give us a window by Monday night. Call Monday morning, they tell us that the delivery for Saturday was actually denied by the storage facility and was never going to happen. We'll get the window by the end of Monday guaranteed. Call towards end of day, no, we will not be provided a window and they'll tell us 30 minutes before the truck arrives on Tuesday. Will our container of belongings actually show up tomorrow? Who knows. I don't have a lot of faith that they'll honor their word (as SEVERAL people have told us whatever will get us off the phone instead of actually trying to resolve the issue.) We were moving states and didn't have an apartment already rented before our move, so figured that PODs would save us the headache of moving all of our stuff between storage facilities and moving trucks, but they just create more problems than they're actually solving. It's has been almost three weeks since my dumpster fire of a move! I've still yet to be contacted about next steps regarding the issues with my move. I was told that my POD would be a good size for my 1 bedroom condon and it was not. Due to this I had to pay for more moving services via UHaul. Also, to add salt to the wound. I have used PODS a number of times and have not had any real problems with this company. The one problem I had was one of the loading company's they recommend. I have used "Pack and Load" company, however, after the experience I had in Michigan with that company, I will never use them again and would think PODS would take them off the list of packers. I was overcharged and they were very unprofessional on site. The people who came out to load two pods did not know what they were doing and refused to get someone out to do the job correctly. They spent time watching the road in front of my house being repaved instead of loading the pods. I would advise anyone needing loading service should stay away from "pack and load". read more

The price for an 18 mile trip from our old house to our new home cost me well over 600.00 USD. They charged me for blankets that weren't delivered and were not upfront with the final costs when the deal was initiated. I could have gotten a Uhaul and hired a few kids to help load for half of that. The large container we got was old, had leaked and smelled really bad. maybe some mold , not sure. the door allowed rain water to leak in and several of our items got soaked. My fault for not reading thoroughly through the contract on costs. Once you give them your Credit card number it cant be deleted from the website, they have it no matter what. What pissed me off the worse is the pick up times, if you finish early, oh well, it sits there for days till the original pick up dates arrives. Yelp seems to be the only site that allows for the bad as well as the good reviews.... The only thing i can think of that makes PODS use a good thing is being able to take your time when loading it up, so i guess we pay for the convenance. read more

My POD delivery was delayed and when calling the sales person, who said she would stand by me throughout the process (because I saw the Avon dance of previous poor reviews of PODS Customer Service), she never responded to one of my four calls. Customer Service is in the Philippines. The people were polite when reading the script as I received the same messaging multiple times, specifically apologizing for my experience but unable to assist in any way. After a three week delay on getting my POD with numerous cancelation from PODS, i drive over to their storage location and walked into the office. I inquired why my POD was delayed. The person I confronted looked and said I don't know why this hasn't been delivered and within one hour had it at my home. The delivery was fine, then the pick up and storage and redelivery was fine. HOWEVER NOW CANNOT GET THIS POD TO BE PICKED UP!! It was supposed to be picked up Monday still not picked up today. The website does not work, the customer serivce sucks! A 2 yr old would give better customer service. UPDATE: Wednesday 8/18/21 @2:52PM I received a call from some schmuck at Pods saying the pod would be picked up by the end of the day Wednesday. Guess what? He was full of shit!!! It is now Friday 8/20/21 @10:59AM pod still here and now I am on hold again on my 50th call to these jerks to pick up empty pod. Personally I hope the city impounds this pod, I am also about to file a lawsuit against Pods. WARNING!!!! This company charged my credit card two extra times without my approval and sneakily stole $362 from me! I may not have noticed if I didn't check my credit card statements. I had initially agreed to pay a one-time charge of a little over $500 in order to settle the final balance on my friend's move. PODS was holding all of his possessions hostage by refusing to deliver them until after he paid this final bogus charge in full. Oh, yeah... this charge was only added on after they had all of his stuff as leverage. It was not part of the initial agreed upon amount for the service. That's what this company does. They agree with you on a price, take away all your stuff like all is well, then tack on a huge extra charge and hold your stuff hostage until you pay. Then, on top of that, they try to sneak in even more charges onto your credit card without your permission. Needless to say, I disputed the extra two charges through my credit card company, but then PODS turned around and disputed my dispute! Just a quick follow-up to my previous review of this terrible company: after complaining about the poor service I was receiving, a man named Ed told me they would pick up my POD today (5/2) between 730-1030am. I found out that by 130pm the POD still hadn't been picked up but that "someone was on their way". **I can report that the POD FINALLY ARRIVED this afternoon...TWO DAYS LATE. I requested it on 4/30 and it arrived on 5/2. On what grounds does PODS view this as a good business practice?** To date, I have yet to receive an apology for anyone at this company for their sloppy handling of my business. I understand that one bad transaction with an unsatisfied customer isn't going to impact their bottom line in the long run, but if they cared this little for my business ask yourself if you think they'll treat you any better. I'm not sure what is more frustrating about PODS. It's utter failure to meet its commitments and assurances or its lack of care about accountability. After it failed to log a requested pick-up date when the order was entered, it scheduled a pickup date five days later and well after I was scheduled to vacate the premises where the storage bin was located, resulting in an irate landlord. I called customer service two days before the scheduled pick up date and was assured that the container would be picked up as promised. Not only was the container not picked up, but they made no effort to contact me to let me know (resulting in an irate call from the landlord the next morning). I was put on the schedule the following date and given a pick-up window, which came and went again with no contact. I called customer service several times and was informed that they're local office had neither returned their phone calls or emails. Of course, they are now closed and tomorrow is a Sunday. I can't wait for the next irate call from the landlord and resulting charges for the container remaining on her property. A simple phone call and explanation would have gone a long way rather than promises made with no intention of keeping. read more

My review is for the PODS city services department. I had very high hopes for PODS given they advertise themselves as taking pride in customer service. I have called their customer service line more than 5 times to try to speak to a representative but my call gets dropped and/or they transfer me to another line where no one picks up. When I have been able to speak to a representative, I was told to expect a communication back about my complaint promptly but it has been almost THREE WEEKS, and I have absolutely no update, no follow-up of any sort. I emailed my complaint case manager, Max Atkinson, two times, called and left a voicemail with NO RESPONSE. Apparently, my complaint was "escalated" two separate times but that hasn't done anything. The whole reason I'm trying to get in touch with the case manager is to resolve a complaint with my driver and the time they cut short. Given what we paid, we are GUARANTEED 4 hours to unload. Except the PODs delivery driver was 30-40 minutes late. This was okay because the driver called to communicate this each of the two times there was a delay + we were told that we would get an additional 30-40 minutes to unload since they arrived late. Unfortunately, despite their promise, they promptly left without giving us the 30-40 minutes so we had to essentially hurry and throw the remaining contents inside the POD onto the street. It also didn't help that the driver went to the bathroom for 20 minutes and said that he ended up exploring the neighborhood. I will never be using their service again and warning my friends from hiring them. If you care about being able to get in touch with and getting help after your services, please, please reconsider before using PODS. read more

I want to make sure everyone is aware of the interaction I've had with PODs on my recent move just 6 MILES from where I used to live. In short, they cannot find a way to get my POD delivered to me....Here is what I've went thru since 3/31/22. - Attempted to schedule POD for delivery on 3/31/22 - Received an error stating "Sorry, your request cannot be completed" and the PODs website instructed me to contact customer care. 3/31/22 @ ~ 8:15 PM CT to have POD scheduled to be delivered on 4/2/22. I spoke to Ronald. Customer care agent confirmed and had the pod scheduled for delivery. 4/2/22 @ 7:45 AM CT - Spoke to Yanella - She stated there was NO order placed to have the POD delivered on 4/2. She called the service center where the POD was delivered and confirmed that it can be delivered still. Yanella attempted to schedule the delivery, she received an error. She opened a "Support case" and indicated I would receive a call back within 1.5 - 2 hours. 4/2/22 @ 11:19 AM CT - Customer Care agent was difficult to understand, I did not get his name. Was on the phone for over 58 minutes. I was on hold for ~ 75% of the phone call duration. He confirmed NO order was placed, and could not validate the existence of a service ticket. Refused to let me speak to a manager, stated that NO manager worked on the weekends. He refused to call the service center to check on my POD. He just kept repeating before every time I was placed on hold that he was "Investigating my account". I eventually ended the call because he was not being helpful, and just kept putting me on hold. 4/2/22 @ 12:18 PM CT - Spoke to Jessica (or jess?). She was MUCH more helpful. She did state that there was NO order placed as of this phone call to have my POD delivered. She called the service center, confirmed that the POD can be delivered by 6 PM CT. She attempted to place the order, and received an error message. She stated she was going to investigate and call me back within 15 minutes. She was also going to e-mail the service center directly. 4/2/22 @ 1:01 PM CT - Jessica called me back, was re-attempting to schedule the POD delivery, still received an error message on her end when attempting to schedule. She placed me on hold to investigate, we were disconnected. I waited about 10 Minutes, and received no phone call back. 4/2/22 @ 1:15 PM CT - Called customer support (I believe his name was Jeff), asked to speak to the last agent who was serving my account. I indicated that I did get disconnected, and I did not want to go thru the whole explication again. The agent I spoke with indicated that he cannot transfer calls because he was an inbound agent. I YET AGAIN explained my situation from the top. He placed me on hold to investigate my account. When Jeff returned, he stated there were issues that could not be resolved via Tier 1 support. He transferred me to a Tier 2 agent. The first Tier 2 agent I spoke with stated she was new so she transferred me to another agent. The second Tier 2 agent I spoke with was very helpful, she investigated what was going on, called the Service Center and spoke with the manager named Ed. She came back to me and stated that Ed would be giving me a phone call within 1 - 1.5 hours and clarify if my POD can be delivered. The agent also gave me her e-mail address to let her know if I did not receive a call. 4/2/22 - Posted on Twitter the issue I was experiencing. AS OF 4/4/22 - I still HAVE NOT received a call from Ed the Service Center Manager, or ANYONE from PODs to assist with my delivery. I cannot schedule the delivery online. This POD has the furniture to my home. We are not able to live in our home, and forced to stay in a hotel, and take more time off of work in order to figure out what is going on. 4/4/22 - Conversation with a representative on Twitter. I provided a detailed time line of my experience. Representative on Twitter indicated a senior escalation representative will reach out. 4/4/22 @ 12:32 PM CT - Still no call from a PODs senior escalation representative. 4/4/22 @ 1:04 PM CT - Call from from the "Customer Advocacy - Office of the Executive Team". Stated she is trying to reach out to Ed the site manager, with no luck. She is going to try and get the container delivered today, but currently the next available delivery time is 4/6. She also stated she will be providing me her contact information via e-mail so I can reach out... 4/4/22 @ 3:21 PM CT - No update as of yet in regards to the POD Delivery. Oh, and because of this, my family is forced to stay in a hotel until we get our personal possessions back... read more

TL;DR: I recently relocated from Tennessee to Illinois, and my items were in storage with PODS for ten months between pickup and drop off. In that time, I have spent $3,617.97 with PODS between storage and moving. As a result of a cancelled move, PODS owes me $612.17, which has been virtually impossible to claim as a result of their abhorrent customer service. _____ The full story: After 10 months in storage in TN, my POD was scheduled to be dropped off in Chicago at 2p on 12/23. At 5p on 12/22, only 21 hours in advance of my scheduled move, I received a message that my move had been cancelled. They offered to reschedule the delivery on 12/24--Christmas Eve. As moving on a holiday was in no way a viable option for either me or my building manager, we agreed to reschedule on 12/26, a Saturday. My new building does not typically allow weekend moves, so navigating and negotiating this reschedule with the property management company, building manager, and Homeowners Association on such a short turnaround (and over the Christmas holiday) was a hassle for both me and my landlord. I had scheduled movers for 12/23 via HireAHelper [PODS recommended vendor] to coordinate with the POD delivery. PODS cancelled my move less than 24hrs before the planned delivery, which meant I was outside the 24hr cancellation window required by HireAHelper. As a result, I was charged in full $362.07 for moving services from S&L Express for the original 12/23 move date. I also paid a $250 non-refundable moving fee to my property management. Both these fees had to be repaid when the move was rescheduled for 12/26. The PODS customer service representative who helped me reschedule assured me the reimbursement process was super easy--all I would need to do is talk to an agent, submit my receipts, and PODS would send me a check. Unfortunately this has been far from the case. It took me 19 days and multiple phone calls to the customer service to get a call back from a reimbursement agent. On 1/14, I submitted my receipts to per his instructions. He responded that same day to say, "I have forwarded this top my superiors for them to understand what you were out of pocket for. I will be in touch by next week at the latest with details on what we can do to make this delay up to you." Unfortunately it has now been 26 days and I have yet to hear from this agent. I have followed up via email five times, and have called the customer service number three times. When I called on 2/5, I was told "someone" would get back to me "soon", but when pressed, the agent could give me no further information on a timeframe either for follow up or reimbursement. When I called today (2/9), I was transferred to the billing department, only to remain on hold for over 20min before hanging up. This is a ridiculously frustrating customer service experience following what was otherwise--reschedule notwithstanding--a fairly standard moving experience. I had no issues with the POD delivery, pickup, storage or drop off. In fact, the drivers were super courteous, communicative, and helpful--and my items all arrived in tact. This could have been a five-star review, however the runaround regarding reimbursement and the wholly unhelpful customer service agents make this a one-star experience. read more

If you're thinking of trying to use pods for your move, RUN! Don't do it. Use any other service like packrats or Upack. You'll regret using pods like I'm regretting it right now. Customer service is great and very helpful while they're trying to get your money. Once they have it, You're SOL if something happens. THEY cancelled my pod the first time, causing me to reschedule. Fine, I was annoyed but decided to reschedule. while trying to reschedule, I couldn't log in to their website since the site was down and my acct was inaccessible. Every time I called the CS line I kept getting bounced from rep to rep telling me they couldn't access my account or the website since their system is down. I ended up having to deal with the most incredibly rude and unprofessional customer service rep. She treated me like I was an inconvenience to HER and her time. never mind the fact that I'm paying THOUSANDS of dollars for a service. I finally end up rescheduling and have the pod picked up, but now today I get an email saying my delivery was cancelled because i didn't go to the website and accept the terms. I CANT ACCESS THE WEBSITE/MY ACCT BECAUSE THEIR SITE IS DOWN AND HAS BEEN DOWN FOR A WEEK! never mind the fact that I've called multiple times and spoke to someone in a managerial position regarding my issues and they assured me everything else would go according to plan. Guess that was a load of crap too. My move is in 10 days and I'm scrambling to get everything ready while being worried that my pod won't make it to my new home. When speaking to someone today I was told I can't have the pod delivered until I click on and accept the terms for the shipping. AGAIN, HOW CAN I DO THAT WHEN THEIR SYSTEM IS DOWN AND HAS BEEN DOWN SINCE LAST WEEK?! Pods doesn't take any responsibility, an apology or even some sort of discount for all this trouble. All the while this is happening to add insult to injury, pods is charged my credit card an extra $580 that shouldn't have been charged, while not even providing me the services I paid for! Again, if you want to use a company like this to move, don't let it be pods. Run for the hills and try your luck with upack or pack rat. Don't make the mistake I did or you'll be regretting it like I have. Edit: since pods is telling me I need to accept the term before services are rendered, again HOW CAN I ACCEPT THEM WHEN YOUR WEBSITE HAS BEEN DOWN FOR A WEEK WITH NO WAY TO ACCESS IT?! I ordered my POD 3 weeks ago to avoid having issues and it still happened. I got my delivery window the night before for 7:30am-10:30am. At 8:45am the next morning I get an email saying order cancelled, and that I cancelled the order. I NEVER called or even logged into my account. I spoke with customer service 3 times yesterday asking if my pod could be delivered later that day, it would still be fine. All 3 times each person said they would follow up with me within the hour (no one ever called), all 3 said that Ed from the Melrose Park location confirmed with them that it would arrive by last night (it didn't). Now I have workers coming tomorrow morning, I need to clear out my garage, and still have NO POD to everything in. This is completely unacceptable and I will be filing a complaint with the BBB as well. read more

These guys are a joke. The PODs main office scheduled these guys to pickup my POD on the 26th, They have not only failed to pick up the POD they have ignored the main offices calls and emails. I have called three times and every time it's a new date or has not been scheduled or some other excuse. The brand new condo building I just moved into won't allow PODs anymore because of their customer service issues, specifically this storage location. Avoid these guys if at all possible. After spending 3000$ the company will LITERALLY tell you that they can deliver to your address anymore and that your only solution is to come with your OWN trucks , empty the pods at the storage facility and drive off. BIGGEST SCAM of 2020. If moving your personal belonging safely is important to you, avoid them at all cost. They just do not care and treats their customers like cattle. So pass the message if your hard earning money is important to you. Going to try other similar companies and hopefully the experience will be better. read more

I'm writing this review for the driver named Angel, who works out of your Bensenville location. What a guy! Called me in the morning letting me know he was running late but wound up make up the time and even showed up early. He was very professional and courteous and mindful of my Mom's bushes. I was his last stop of the day, meaning he had put in a full 8 hours already. Most guys would want to be in and out and get their weekend started. But since my container was a 7' unit, he offered to help me unload it, thus saving me from having it sit on my Mom's driveway all weekend. I don't know many who would have done that, especially after working all day. Thank you, Angel. Just want PODS to know you've got a great driver there. You're lucky to have him. . read more

Awful customer service, I DO not recommend PODS, I should have listened to the reviews. I closed on my house today and the POD was supposed to be picked up at 12pm-3pm I get a call today saying " the driver called off and we cannot pickup your Pod until Oct 1st" what! So now the Pod is at my old home,the new owners are furious and I cannot get a straight answer from Pods. I've called 3times and they keep saying I CHANGED THE date, I did not! Pods helped with my recent move from Chicago. Due to the labor shortages impacting the economy they were booked solid, however, after one failed pod delivery attempt, everything went well and according to plan. Only items that they need to work on are the website is so insecure, my account was hacked the day it was created, and two communication on the first failed delivery was via email as opposed to a call. Given the volume of orders and short staffing I have to still give 4 stars. All the staff I interacted with were professional and helpful. read more

During my recent move from NYC to Chicago, I decided to go the pod route due to the flexibility it provided. As it was my first pod move, I'm sure many of you are doing exactly what I had, which was poring through all these reviews to figure out what to expect and thinking that no good outcome could possibly come out of it. Well, I'm here to hopefully add to the (small) pile of positive reviews. To save money as well as to not deal with the stupidity that is parking in either city, I had opted for a facility-to-facility move. Being in Queens, it meant I was moving to the PODS facility in Jamaica. (Beats the one competitor whose "NYC" location was in NJ...) The PODS facility in "Chicago" is technically in the near-west suburb of Bensenville. I knew the Jamaica facility was in an industrial division, but I didn't expect it would be so difficult to maneuver a car in an area so full of trucks. Particularly avoid Tuckerton unless you want the opportunity to have the narrow street blocked by a truck full of live animals. (Goats in my case, but the corporation at the end of the block is supposedly live poultry...) Enter from the back entrance on 150th St and drive straight up to the pods. Mine was already sitting out, waiting for me with my name tag in the latch. You have to give at least 24 hours notice to gain access to your pod. The earlier you can request it, the better, since some places only allow a certain number of pods to be out. Despite my PODS rep saying that the Bensenville facility hours were 8am-4pm, my movers and I accidentally found out they open at 7am, which was great since it allowed us to beat Chicago traffic as well as the parking in front of my new apartment. After all the negative reviews, I had feared that my pod would be filled with bugs, water, and/or mold. The outside and inside of the pod seemed unscathed, for the most part. The mini fridge shows signs that it may have shifted during transit, but that's my fault for opting to go without the moving blanket when I thought my NYC mover would have packed it more securely toward the center of the pod. Overall, I'm glad that I went with PODS. I feel like it's best for people who either don't have a lot of new things or are willing to pack those things very well (e.g. I made sure my electric piano had an extra layer of blanket.) Everyone I met along the way was nice, so I'm sad to read that others did not have the same experience. I also saved over $1000, at least compared to when I used movers to drive from Chicago to NYC 6 years ago. But I had an apartment to move directly into back then, one that had been chosen rather hurriedly, so I appreciated the storage option, as pricey as it was, allowing me to apartment hunt however long I needed to. I ordered a POD a few days ago for delivery today. They sent me a message that that it would arrive between 2:46-5:46. Later I received a message delivery was updated to be between 11:45 and 2:45. A while later they sent another message that the delivery time was updated to be between 1:15 and 4:15. At 3:45 I had a voice message that due to technical difficulties the delivery would put off until tomorrow. We needed it today and had friends over to help load it. I called to talk to someone and he said they were sorry but he would help schedule delivery tomorrow. Not acceptable I would like to speak to a manager. He said one was out there. I told him I needed it delivered today. These are not cheap and you pay a lot for delivery charges. He said hold on as he would call someone. He left me on hold, finally got back to me. He said today was out but he assured me first thing tomorrow. They changed y delivery three times the. Cancelled it. So I am supposed to believe first thing. I cancelled the POD and no one there seemed to care. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Let's start with this: I used PODS two year ago to move from St. Louis to Chicago, and it was a decent experience. So when I need moving service again this year, I chose them again. Booked back in mid-June for a mid-August move. And then, today, PODS called me ON THE DAY of my scheduled move saying that not only can they not accommodate my same-day delivery/pick up request (that was made over 1.5 months ago), they can't even deliver my container today. My original delivery time window is 1030a-130p and they called me at 11:11am. Better yet, I called at 8:30am today to confirm and they told me the time window was correct. The agent who called me at 11:11am said he was unable to reach the Chicago warehouse, and was then unreachable when I called back. The other agent I spoke with on the main line refuse to do anything more and told me they're going to get back to me "in a few hours" at 11:47am. I have a same-day delivery/pick up on that day and she seems totally okay with the idea of having me wait for a few hours potentially. UPDATE: After long phone calls, we agreed on them making the delivery on that day and pick up two days later. I made all the arrangements, only to then know that the driver has blatantly ignored me when I said "then come" (he claimed that I have not agreed for him to come) and then refused to deliver my PODS.
