Every person I have spoken with at Pods has done an outstanding job of making my move pleasant, beginning with my initial telephone conversation with Vincent, who took the time to explain everything in great detail. The initial delivery of an 8 ft pod was made by Darius, who was very prompt and friendly. Unfortunately, some of my plans changed, and I suddenly needed a 16 ft pod. The young lady I spoke with by phone helped make that happen for me and the 8 ft pod was picked up this morning. Driver Jimmy Satterwhite just delivered the 16 ft pod, parking it exactly where I asked, as close to the edge of the driveway as possible, and left me the information so that I could leave a review. We had such an amazing experience with PODS thanks to Jimmy Satterwhite! He went above and beyond for us--driving out to our location not once, not twice, but THREE times in one day. The second trip was because our first pod wasn't packed properly, and instead of showing any frustration, Jimmy was incredibly patient, kind, and helpful. Then he came back a third time to drop off another pod. Talk about dedication! He even took a moment to show some love to our dog Ellie, which meant so much to us. I've only ever done corporate moves, so when I had to move out of state on my own I was really nervous. The PODS team made it really easy and I didn't up having to drive a truck, so I was grateful for that. It didn't cost as much as I thought it would. When Jimmy dropped off the first POD, I felt like we were best friends reunited. He was so cheerful and friendly. He gave me really good tips on loading. This company is so bad. When we requested our PODS a month ago we asked for a June 13th dropoff and a June 15th pickup. The dropoff was perfect - no complaints. Hence the two star rating. BUT..... our filled units are sitting in front of our house baking in the Texas heat. Our antiques, original paintings, and home decor are sitting in what is likely about 160 degrees inside the units. PODS won't help. I even went to the local facility and was told that Florida overbooks them all the time. I even offered to pay overtime as told there was nothing they could do. PODS is likely going to get an insurance claim for tens of thousands of dollars. We picked them because of climate control storage and convenience. Now we are left in a lurch, no one is calling us back, you can't get through on the phone, and no one will help. Worst experience other and we will be permanently detrimentally affected. Just helpless and at the mercy of a company that doesn't care. Update 16 June I sent my customer number to socialmedia@pods.com upon request of their response. Still chirping crickets in response. Update 16 June 3:30 Central As much as I yelled and screamed it is now time to say something good. The social media folks did their thing and two awesome delivery drives (Jimmy and John) retrieved the units. Once I penetrated the customer service wall then everything fell into place and I received the service expected originally. The phone system is terrible having spent two hours and forty minutes on hold and press 1 for call back doesn't work and even then once you do get through it goes into a three day resolution queue. If I could rate it lower I would!!! No showed me on my delivery between 11:30am and 2:30pm. No phone call, no email, no nothing. Wasted my entire day waiting for them to say oh we are backed up it will be there between 5:30pm and 6:30pm. At 7:00pm still no pod or phone call. I had to call and the man told me that they were minutes from my house and gave me the pod number. He assured me it would be there any minute. At 8:00pm I got my first phone call from the company saying oh we are sorry but it's not coming today! To make it even better they then inform me that I can't get a delivery until 4 days later!!! The set up for scheduling drop off and pick up was efficient. My pod was picked up on time by Jimmy Satterwhite. He made sure that he handled our pod with care. Jimmy followed up with me to confirm the pick up and also sent me photos once the job was complete he was very professional with his communication as well. This is the worst company I have dealt with. I ordered a pod a week ago and delivery was set for the 31st. I got the email confirming the delivery so I took off work. I have construction starting on the first. I get a call saying they can't get me one till next week. Not only that, they were rude and matter of fact and refused to give me any contact info for regional or general managers. I waited on the phone for 15 minutes to the main number and she said availability is not until may. So they lie and take your money and just keep pushing delivery. I finally got a GM phone number and have left a message. This is terrible that they have the corporate office send auto emails about delivery even though the regional office has zero pods available for a month. I lost a day off and have to reschedule construction due to this incompetent company. What an embarrassment. read more

I have been told by three different Pods representatives via on-line Chat that my two empty pods will be picked up today. Then I called to make sure since I NEVER received the ETA call last evening for today's pick-up and was then told I AM NOT scheduled to have them picked up today. I called on August 30 once my pods were empty to have them picked up. They were delivered on August 19. I NEED them gone before I get fined by my HOA. Why is this so difficult. PODS RENTOR BEWARE: This company does not prorate their rental fees. We paid upfront for a month; however, only used the POD for 4 days in that month. It was an emergency rental due to the recent Harvey floods. This rating is specifically for the Humble, TX facility. I have a load in a delivered container that had shifted, which prevented the unit door from rolling up. They sent a driver back out (Alvin?) to lift the unit up and hopefully shake some things back into place. Unfortunately, it did not solve the problem and the unit had to return to the storage yard. The next morning I traveled to Humble, Tx to have them "break open the unit". I was so pleased to have arrived with the manager Vincent waiting for my arrival. He worked on it for a few minutes with still no luck. Bruce came over to lend a hand and within 30 minutes, the unit door was opened and all my stress went away. Vincent was able to get my unit delivered later that same day and my unloading of the POD could continue. Sheldon (Shelton?) brought the POD out and stayed until we were able to get the door opened and all was well. These folks were not only kind and patient, they were so helpful. Thank you guys for turning my move from California to Texas from a stressful experience into a warm and welcome experience. read more

STAY AWAY FROM PODS! THEY ARE RUDE, HOLD YOUR BELONGINGS HOSTAGE, AND COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT Pods has kept all of my belongings for 10 days longer than they should have, and are unwilling to make an appropriate refund. I contacted Pods for a move on 6/25/12 and ordered their service for a move from Boise, Idaho to Magnolia, Texas. I heard about them through a coworker. I was given a quote of roughly $7000.00. My plan was to ship all of our household goods on these Pods and we would stop in Colorado for a couple of nights and then again one night in Wichita Falls. When we arrived at our new place in Texas, we would sleep in sleeping bags and eat out until our things were delivered. Pods had one container dropped off at my home in Boise on 6/26/12, as agreed. I called them again on 6/27, and was told that the soonest that Pods could come get the second conatiner would be 6/30 and the soonest that they could actually ship all of our household belongings was no going to be 7/3/12, even though I was initially told that they could ship the containers on 6/29. I reluctantly accepted this and agreed. This meant another 3-4 days minimum without our household goods when we arrived in Houston. I was told by the person that I spoke to on the phone that she would schedule the shipment for 7/3, and that my household goods would not be delivered at my new home until 7/10. She said that she would call me back after checking to see if there was any way they could do it sooner. Of course, I never heard back. Pods then had the first container picked up on 6/28/12 and dropped another one at the same time at my home. We filled the second container and they had that container picked up on 6/30. In the morning on 7/5, while in transit to Boise, I decided to check the status of the deliver of my Pods. When I looked on their website, it told me that my containers were still in the storage facility in Boise, so I called them to see if this was correct. When I spoke to a human pods employee (It usually takes 30 to 45 minutes to get someone on the phone, except when you are making your initial order, which puts someone immediately on the phone.) they told me that the shipment had NOT been scheduled and that they could schedule it NOW, but that the soonest it could ship would be 7/10 and that the soonest that I would be receiving my pods would be 7/20 or 7/21! At this point, I couldn't cancel because we had already left Boise. There was literally nothing that I could do because Pods already had possession of everything that we own. I told them to schedule it, but that I wanted to talk to a supervisor because I was hoping that Pods could expedite the move. This was the first time that I talked to Don Bowden. He told me that he would make sure that my move was scheduled and that he would review the phone call that I had made on 6/27, since Pods records all of their incoming calls. I was told that I could expect a call back from Pods within 36 hours. Again, this was 7/5. I finally heard back from him on 7/14, when he left me a message. I called back and left him a message and then he called me back again on 7/15. Don Bowden with Pods Corporate offices offered a $500 refund. Pods acknowledges that they made a huge mistake. For a $7000.00 total cost move, a 7% discount for the company making my family sleep on the floor for 10 additional days is absolutely unacceptable. I feel that I shouldn't have to pay anything, however, I was willing to accept $1500 as a refund, which I feel is is more than fair. This would represent a 20% discount, since Pods kept everything that we own for 40% longer than they should have. I was told that $500 was the most that Pods would pay, no matter what, and that I could agree to that or I could take nothing. I was told that I would need receipts for every expense that I incurred as a result of Pods mistake. I can't afford to keep my family in a hotel while we wait on our household goods, especially when Pods made no gaurantee of reimbursement. I chose to take nothing if that was all they were going to offer. My experience is that the people of Pods are poorly trained, inept, and rude. Pods will not do what they promise, and they won't even try to make it right when they drop the ball. read more
