Our furniture and mattress were sitting in this water. PODs says "what water?"

Just don't do it. Pay attention to the amount of 1 star reviews. When emptying of POD we found that the back corner was full of water. There were water stains on our couch and ruined a foam mattress. I filed a claim on 8/10/22 and as of today 10/13/22, no matter how many times I try to reach them, I cannot get a response, update, or payment from the PODS claim team. Beware that if something goes wrong, you may not ever get reimbursed from PODS. Poor service. Update 10-18-22: Pods sent me this denial for my claim: PODS has completed its investigation of your claim & we regret to inform you that we deny your claim as further explained below: We found that there was no physical damage to your unit and no other cause of loss was identified to suggest that something happened to the unit. A pressured water test confirmed negative for intrusion. This included allowing continuous water run over the roof and entire exterior of the container to detect leaking, to which there was none. I have a video showing over an inch of water in the back of the container that I shared with their claims dept. Where do they think that water came from? I'd love to see a copy of this so-called "pressured water test"

Pod blocking me out of my car garage

Your driver left the container in the middle of my driveway blocking me out of my garage, when they were instructed to leave it on the right side. Now my car is getting water damaged because my sunroof won't close and it's raining and I can't put my vehicle in my car garage. I was told the Pod won't be moved until Tuesday, 4 days later when they said they was sending someone to move it the same day. Are you going to cover the damages to my vehicle and what will you do for the inconvenience?

I recently used PODS for a move from North Carolina to Iowa. I received my POD in early July and just finished unboxing everything and wanted to share my experience. This review reflects an overall negative experience with PODS and it mostly has to do with three main factors. -Deceptive Advertising -Handling of Goods (broken items) -Price Deceptive advertising: When I began my PODS order I was informed that the entirety of the move could be accomplished in 1 to 2 weeks. I received my POD a few days after the initial order and spent the better part of a week packing it. I was told by both the phone salesman and the drop off driver to give PODS a call 2 DAYS IN ADVANCE of when I wanted it to be picked up and begin the cross-country shipping process. When I called I was told I would HAVE TO WAIT 7 DAYS for PODS to come pick up my package (5 days longer than what I was told). After the pick up PODS advertises that it would take 4-6 days for the actual shipping process, THE ACTUAL TIME PERIOD WAS 11 DAYS. This might not seem like that large of an issue but because I had other travel plans and flights built in around this already stressful time it greatly complicated my moving experience. Additionally I was living in my new home for two weeks without any furniture or the lions share of my possessions. IF YOU USE PODS BE PREPARED TO WAIT LONGER THAN WHAT YOU WERE TOLD. Handling of Goods: If it was only scheduling issues I would give this review three stars, however the worst part of my experience came when the POD arrived. When I opened my POD the items closest to the door were in good shape however the back fourth of the POD had numerous crushed boxes and many of my items in that section were broken. I am not a novice when it comes to moving (this is my 4th major move in 7 years), I know how to pack and followed the recommendations PODS gave. Given that the back quarter exhibited so much damage it was clear that while they display care of your goods during pick up and drop off, THEY ARE CARELESS WITH YOUR POSSESSIONS IN THEIR STORAGE FACILITIES. I have numerous photos and would include them if the review allowed. EXPECT ITEMS TO BE BROKEN OR DAMAGED IF USING PODS. Price: I payed a little over 2 grand for this move. If everything showed up on time and in good condition this would be a decent price. However when you look at other options the same move would have only cost me a little over 1000.00 if I had rented a UHAUL. If I could do it over again, I would go that route. CONCLUSION: I think PODS is a decent option if you are someone who feels really uncomfortable driving a larger vehicle, is moving more than 14 hours away, flexible on timeframe, can afford a few thousand dollar tab, and is okay with some of your belongings being broken. However if you are moving relatively close by and want to do things on your schedule and protect your belongings RENT A TRUCK AND DO IT YOURSELF. Some positives to note: I found my interactions with employees at PODS to be courteous, especially the two drivers that picked up and dropped off my POD.

I AM SO SORRY FOR THIS LATE & LONG OVER DUE REVIEW I HOPE IT'S NOT TOO LATE!…read more I booked Hornet Moving fairly late in my moving process - barely 48 hrs prior - due to the incredibly convenient, straightforward upfront pricing and direct booking, all on their website (way less of a hassle and much faster than filling out a form and waiting to receive an estimate back, like most others). This was my 8th move in 6.5 yrs and my 7 previous moving experiences were painful for a number of reasons, several of those being due to the moving company/movers booked. I was anticipating this move to match the pain of the previous at minimum, possibly worse, due to other circumstances regarding my moving situation (completely unrelated to my confidence in Hornet Moving or any moving company in general). HOWEVER, to my surprise and relief, this was my best experience with a moving company/movers to date!!!! BIG BIG HUGE SHOUT OUT and THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH TO MY MOVING CREW - JARRETT, ARTHUR, and GUSTAVO!!!! My scheduled moving time was in the afternoon (~1 PM) which Hornet Moving makes it clear that afternoon apts are not guaranteed to start right at 1 PM on the dot and could arrive anytime between 1-4 PM (makes sense and is fair enough considering that the crew is likely coming from another moving job booked for that morning). So I was aware of this and did not expect for them to be on time given that there's only so much within their control there. But they WERE on time!!! By the time they got parked where they needed to, unloaded their supplies, and started the moving for my apt unit belongings on the 4th floor and also my remaining storage unit items on the 1st floor, commuted to my new place (about a ~4-5.5 mile trip depending on route, typically between ~10-20 mins depending on traffic/time) and unloaded everything (while also having to rearrange boxes and misc. furniture I had already brought over that were in the way of unloading everything else), they were 100% finished and had already left the driveway before 4:30 PM!!! They also boxed my 65" TV and my 75" TV (which I had saved the original boxes for). I found Hornet Moving from using Google's "AI Mode" to search for movers that handled TVs, including TV mounting service, and options with upfront pricing and/or direct booking entirely online. Hornet Moving came up as a result checking all those boxes!! I found out once the movers arrived that TV mounting is not a service Hornet Moving directly provides as part of the moving job, however, that ended up working out fine since I wasn't able to have my TV mounted at that time anyway due to some electrician work that was not yet complete. Several large and heavy pieces of my furniture are considered "particle board" / -related material items, which are easily damaged during moves due to durability (my previous move before this resulted in almost all of my stuff getting damaged, chipped, scratched, dented, etc. in one way or another due to the movers not wrapping these items well, or at all, and that was during a move within the same apartment building from one unit to another - so none of these items were loaded into a moving truck and/or commuted, yet they still got damaged due to carelessness ). I worried about those items this time around, but Hornet Moving wrapped my furniture properly with TLC and handled everything with the utmost care!!!! All of my belongings made the move safe, sound, and undamaged‼‼‼ Again, best moving experience I've had!!!!! The crew and company was great and easy to work with from start to finish. The online booking process is wonderfully easy and convenient, and they were incredibly prompt and responsive with their communication. 0 complaints to be found, even if I wanted to look for something to nitpick!!! They requested a video call to give an accurate estimate of how many movers and trucks we would need. When their estimate came in (5 movers, 3 trucks and 7 hours) we thought that seemed a bit much but we deferred to their experience. I am giving them 2 stars because they did arrive on time, they generally protected our furniture and homes, The team leader was polite enough and the initial customer service was good - up until moving day. Things we had problems with: 1) The 5 movers were very disorganized and inefficient. This meant they couldn't load all the furniture we requested and during unloading they still went more than 2 hours past their own unloading estimate. When my husband found items in incorrect rooms, they failed to put them in correct rooms, despite repeated requests. We are still finding clearly labeled boxes and furniture in the wrong rooms. 2) The movers used my husband's tools without his permission and still did not assemble the items they were using the tools on correctly. 3) The amount of truck space was mis-estimated. The second truck had barely anything in it. Perhaps because they didn't load all they said they would, but that second truck was expensive. 4) Despite expressing concerns they damaged several items and dented our basement ceiling. 5) And finally, I reached out to them 3 times to try to resolve the issues. Each time they set up a call, which I rearranged my work schedule to take, and then ghosted me. We delayed finishing our move almost 2 weeks because we hoped they would make things right, but they failed repeatedly to communicate. In the end, after paying them over $3k for an incomplete move, my husband and I still had to rent a uhaul to finish our move. I will never use their services again and I recommend you don't either.

We did a ton of research and decided on Reign as it was more expensive than other options so we figured would be higher quality. They also had all 5 star reviews so we figured it would be the best. We are now wondering why this is. They are definitely more expensive. They charge more per hour and they also charge a $350 'truck fee' that no one else charges from quotes we got. We were charged over $1700 for 5 hours. What we liked- - It was easy to schedule and they had our date available a few weeks out. They offered to set up a FaceTime to look at our items and make sure they sent out the appropriate number of trucks. - They gave us an hour window of when they would show up, and an update the morning of so we knew when to expect them. - They were nice and made sure they knew exactly what we wanted. We did one last walk through of the old place before we left. They made sure we were happy before they left the new place. We had 3 movers who were kind and seemed trustworthy. - They listened to the writing on the boxes of where to put the boxes in the new house and if it didn't have writing, they put it in the equivalent room in the new house of where they found it in the old house. - They were careful with our things and were able to unassemble and reassemble our pieces. They also wrapped up the furniture items with blankets to preserve them. - They worked quick and efficiently Why we aren't giving them 5 stars: - they stopped at the gas station between the old house and new house and arrived at the new house 30 minutes after us when we were right behind them the whole way up until the gas station. They did ask us if they could stop to get snacks but I didn't realize it would take this long and they did not deduct this from the time they billed us for. - They asked us if we wanted mattress bags for $15 each. I said yes as I figured this would be something we could keep and save for future moves. They did not leave us the bags. So we paid $30 to basically 'rent' 2 bags which I feel we should have been able to keep or not be charged for. Next time I will buy the $15 ones off Amazon that I can keep. - They took a shelf out of our entertainment stand. In the move the nails/pegs fell out. These are specialty nails to hold the shelf in. Now we are unable to use the shelf, and the piece sags without the shelf in. We have since gotten rid of it and gotten a new one. - The top of our desk will not fit properly on when this was never previously an issue and we ultimately can't fix it and will need to get a new one. - They were about to leave and I noticed something was missing so I asked about it and they had to go back on the truck to get it. If I didn't ask, they would've left with it still in the truck. - They did not deliver 2 small decorative pieces of ours that were the last items on the truck- not packed in a box. Which not a huge deal but I noticed shortly after they left, contacted the company, and they were not able to find them. We are completely unpacked and I know these things are not at either of our houses. ** which they did reimburse us for these things which we are thankful for!! Also customer service was very helpful at first when we were trying to find these items and discuss reimbursement, but then it was pretty hard to get ahold of them to confirm our reimbursement agreement and get them paid. It felt like I was tracking them down just to get our reimbursement approved and get them paid. We will likely use a different company next time we move.
