I use Pods recommendation for a mover through Hireahelper. It was a complete nightmare. Hireahelper does not screen the movers who they work with. They sent someone to my home via Triangle Moving Services( Raleigh, NC/VA/MD) who threatened me when I did not immediately approve payment after they wasted time during the move. My personal items were not properly padded and as a result some of them were damaged. Hireahelper's guarantee and insurance is a joke. They will run you through all kinds of hoops to keep from honoring their so-called guarantee. Find your own independent movers, People who come through personal recommendations. Pods would do very well not to work with hireahelper either until they start better screening who they work with. Women in particular should be very careful about working with moving companies through hireahelper unless you have a man there with you as protection. read more

Do not use this company. I've been done with the Pod for over 2 months and they still have not picked it up after numerous calls. And continue to charge us the monthly rental fee after telling us they would not since we are no longer using the pod. Terrible customer service. Very unprofessional. Yet another reason to always read Yelp reviews. We were under a time-crunch, so I went with the company with the biggest name recognition: PODS. What a MISTAKE! Booked a Saturday pickup from our driveway. Realized that landscapers who were doing work in our backyard over the weekend would need access to the garage, so called to have the unit delivered to the street instead. "No problem," they said. We just need someone to be home to sign a waver for leaving it on the street. Were told we'd get a call the day before with a delivery window. Delivery window automated call says the pod will be delivered on Saturday between 2p-5p. Perfect timing! However, Saturday morning I get a call at 9:30am. I missed the call, but got a message saying "We'll be there in 10 minutes." Ummm... That won't work. I'm an hour away from the house. I call back immediately; it rings and goes to voice mail, but "this voice mail hasn't been set up yet." REALLY?! Call every half hour the rest of the day with the same results; eventually it stops ringing and goes straight to voice mail. I see the national customer service line is open until 8p Pacific time, so I decide to wait until the end of our original delivery window - 5pm - to call and figure things out. Get through to a customer service rep immediately... He says his notes show that the truck was at my house at 2:15p, but no one answered when they called. I explain that happened around 9:30am - four and a half hours before our delivery window began. "Nope," he said. "This shows they tried at 2:15pm." "So did they knock on the door, because we've been home since 10:30am?" I ask. "No, doesn't look like it." Clearly the driver fibbed on his timing a bit to make it line up with the delivery window, but I also realize that isn't an issue that will be resolved over the phone. "Okay," I say, "so the pod will be delivered first thing tomorrow morning?" "ACTUALLY," my rep responds, "that container is no longer available. Our earliest availability is Wednesday." SAY WHAT?! I have a house to empty before a broker's open house on Tuesday. Wednesday is not an option. Order cancelled... And I start thinking to myself, I'm going to have to rent a moving truck, rent a storage unit and do a whole lot of back-and-forth. Not exactly how I was hoping to spend my Sunday. I didn't even realize there were other businesses that provided this type of service. I should have researched before booking and done my research, so kudos to you for doing just that. I had used PODS 4 years ago in New York for local storage and move and they were great. When the time came for me to move across country - I thought this would be an easy thing. I looked on line and saw a "special" for long distance and had called 2 weeks prior and saw I would save $500 if I booked that day for the move so I jumped at the chance and called the 800 number. The operator could not have been more helpful, worked within my days of the move and gave me my GRAND TOTAL... ( or was it ? ) after asking several times, if this was going to be my total cost door to door within the days we were booked and being assured it was the TOTAL .. I said YES and let my credit card and deposit was immediate hit on my card. As schedule on the day scheduled in New York the driver called and my POD was expertly delivered with no problems and picked up with no problem, within an hour IN the three hour window.. Excellent.. Great drivers, friendly and courteous. And as explained on my booking phone call my credit card charged for the balance of the move ( or was it ? ) My POD made it's way 3400 miles cross country ( they tell you 9 days - it was 14 ) and I decide to have my container dropped off at a local storage facility as my place was not ready yet to move in. The storage facility is gated and I had to not only rent a storage space but a parking spot reserved for RVs and boats to park my POD. I called customer service to change the location of my drop off, as I was not comfortable as suggested by the 800 # robot said to change on line, and noticed a $240 line item charge as balanced due.. What is this I asked ? I was told I was paid up..."sir , your PODS anniversary is 3 days before your pick up so you have to pay for another month rent " I say, NO.. I was told I had 10 days grace period because this was a long distance move and I was told I was paid up. " sir, I'm not sure why you were told that " well I say I was .. Let me speak to someone else " sir, I just spoke to my manager, He said we can move the PICK up day ONE day sooner .. " and I don't have to pay it ? " no sir, he said we will have to look into it " The day finally arrives and I am told via automated phone call and email that my POD will be delivered the following day. 3 hour window estimate time 730 - 1030 am. I am told the driver will call prior to delivery. Now because I am in a secure gated storage facility, I was told by the operator above that I would have to be present to open the gate and direct the driver to drop off spot in parking lot - the Gates operate from 7 am to 545 pm when the facility closes. So I get there at 730 and wait and wait and wait and wait.. 3 hours pass And at 1045 am I get the call that he's 15 minutes away .. GREAT .. Shows up, expertly maneuvers around boats, RVs Campers and parked then POD. So from my drop off day, I have 9 days to unload ( and I go on line and see the $240 charge as been reversed ) so now my balance is $0. Unloaded and ready for pick up I go on line and now see I have a $49 dollar balance. I decide to wait to call and just want the POD picked up .. Get my estimated window of time 1045am to 145 pm - I wait .. And wait and wait and wait.. 2pm, 3 pm, 4 pm finally at 430 I decide to call to see if they can just let me know if the driver is coming .. " sir, it's an estimate not a guarantee " her name was FAWN, by the way, I explain that the facility closes in an hour and even if the driver gets IN he would not be able to get out.. Fawn puts me on hold .. " sir, again this is not a guarantee time " " do you want me to book you for tomorrow " I then explain that the reason we were picking up on THAT day was to NOT be charged $240 as was explain above .. "OH" " Hold on " ...... " sir, my manager is going to extend you, so you will not be charged" ok, can I ask what the $49 balanced is ( and it was already charged to my credit card ) " sir that is your insurance coverage for the content of the pod for the next month " well I will not have the POD, why would I want insurance " sir , read your contract , your anniversary with the PODS was 3 days ago " I give up and will not go into the same conversation I had before with the other operator. The following day .. My estimated time of pick up is 745 am - 1145 am I wait and wait and wait and wait .. At 130 the driver calls to say he will be there in 30 minutes.. At 2 pm he arrives and was a nice guy but once he saw where the POD was .. His first question was .. " were the boats and RVS there when the POD was parked .. " needless to say .. After 45 minutes he managed to pull out the pod and be on his way .. 6 hours after my estimate. To end I call 800 number to complain because the $49 FREE dollars PODS took from me and the 13 hours of waiting time.. I call and ask for the name of the CEO.. Less than one star, more like a zero. Terrible customer support. Their billing and invoices are vague, and they often times can't identify what some of their ,many extra charges are for. UPDATE... well, we did get all of our belongings finally. We were lucky enough to find someone who had a large side yard where they very nicely allowed us to have our POD delivered, as we found out that we were not allowed to have it delivered to the street in any of the ZIP codes that PODS originally said they would deliver to. So, we had to rent a truck and drive a half hour each way with truckloads of our belongings in order to move in. PODS gets 1 star because our belongings were in great condition; nothing broke and very little shifting seemed to have occurred. They get a 2nd star because they were prompt with delivery when we finally had a place for them to deliver the storage unit. Pods was expensive to begin with, but having to rent a truck and pay for two days of gas driving back and forth to unpack it made it unreasonable. Unfortunately, they don't get more than 2 stars because they really didn't work with us to find a solution after we had signed the contract (they said they could deliver to our SD zip code, but then they wouldn't...typical behavior once the money is in hand...and no offer of a refund or reimbursement for renting a truck). I will, however, give my very generous friend 5 stars for all of his assistance... read more

I called pods to have a container set for pick up. When I checked online the address for delivery was wrong so I corrected it. Mind you they did not have the day I needed available so I was forced to pick a day earlier. The person I spoke to was rude and not in the least helpful. I thought it was all set for pick up. However when the day came they never came to pick it up. When I looked on their website my pickup information was no longer there. They do not send you a confirmation email with the pickup date so they can change it and blame you. It's been a horrible experience try to get the container picked up. You have to work around their schedule not yours. You need to monitor your website account very closely, they will change your scheduled appointment without letting you know. I regret ever starting with them. They have turned this move into a nightmare. read more

After going through the hassle of self-storage, I figured I would give this service a try. I will always do self-service in the future if I need to move again, because it was NOT worth the shadiness, dishonesty and fraudulent behavior of this company. PODS advertised and priced one month of storage and drop off and return of unit to PODS location; I was later denied this service and told I hadn't ordered it when I called customer service. The website clearly advertises that the price I paid for these services includes drop off and return of the unit, with no mention of additional fees for same-day return. I was given no option to select a return date, only an option to select--and pay for--the date that the unit would ultimately be delivered to my new residence after the up to one month of storage. On the day my unit was delivered, after it was loaded, I called and said I needed it to be picked up and returned to the PODS location. I was told that this could not be done until almost 2 weeks later, or 4 days prior to the time it would need to be delivered to my new location, and past the expiration of my lease, which would make the unit subject to towing. When I protested, I was only informed that I would be responsible for paying for the towing. I spent almost an hour on the phone with PODS. I was told that I had not in fact ordered one month of storage, even though I had paid over $256 for one month of storage. After begging and pleading, a later date was scheduled for the return of the unit to the storage facility, which was late enough to risk me losing money under my lease and which just barely missed the mark of getting the unit towed away by my landlords. At this point in my conversation with the customer service agents, I decided to make things clear and indicate that when the unit would be dropped off at my new location, I would need it picked up again and returned to the PODS facility that same day. I was only THEN told, for the first time, that same-day return is an additional $125, even though the quoted price that I received clearly indicated that the approximately $520 total I would be paying for everything included delivery of the unit, return to the location and one month of storage, then delivery of the unit at the new location and return to the storage unit. There was NOTHING in the quote or purchase details indicating that I would need to pay another $125 for same-day pick up, or $250 additional total to have same-day pick up for both the locations, the old and new apartments. This company has exhibited truly shady advertising, marketing and customer service. I requested a partial refund and was denied, which is laughable given what PODS has and will continue to put me through for the next couple weeks. Though this became a minor point after dealing with the PODS customer service representatives, the unit was not even on time. I was given a 3-hour delivery window, and the unit did not arrive during this time. I had to call to find out what was going on, and the customer service representative told me that the 3-hour window was only an "estimate," and she was unable to give me any idea as to when the unit would be delivered; she could only confirm that I was on the list for the route for that day. I got a call about 20 minutes later from the driver saying that he was another 30 minutes away. Ridiculous. read more

I was given a quote of $99.99 for pick up and $193 for storage per month and somehow the discount did not get on my account so I ended up paying $243 per month for storage for 16' container . Also they are very rough with the containers so all my stuff was jumbled around and broken frames . Pack your stuff well! It's not a convenient location to culver city , takes 30 minutes to get to Compton . I like that if you need to get in to it you just need the tell them24 hrs in advance . If I could give ZERO STARS to PODS, I would. Trust me on this. We were moving from LA to Honolulu. Because PODS told us specifically that in order to get the container out from the San Diego port, I needed to have the POD ready for pick up by 5/29/14. Per their request, we were all packed up. PODS picked up the container on 5/29/14. I called into PODS on 6/5/14 to see when our POD was going to arrive in Honolulu and a representative tells me it is still sitting in the Chino Storage. I am pretty upset about this because they will now be charging me an additional $149.99 for another month of the POD rental since the whole process has been delayed. PODS said that because I did not follow up with them, our container was sitting in the Chino Storage. As a customer, why would I have to be the one to follow up with them???? I then had it escalated to a Manager and the Manager apologized for not getting back to me sooner because they have too many investigations and that customers may be wrong because they do not listen. Wow! Way to exceed customer's expectations. In addition, the manager said I should have been the one to follow up with the representative. I'm sorry, am I not the customer and did I not just pay a $2900 for crappy customer service? I will be reporting them to the BBB. Speaking of the BBB, they have over 300 complaints and I wonder why. DO NOT use PODS. I would rather go with Matson, PASHA, or Horizon. I WILL NEVER USE PODS AGAIN! read more

Lots of hidden fees... I started the process feeling pretty good about it, but now I want my stuff and the fees are piling on. My contract says I am supposed to pay $112 for delivery. Now they are saying $1,355. This is supposedly because of mileage (the distance they have to travel from the storage facility to my new home). However, the original mileage (from my old home to the storage facility) was $1.07/mile and the new mileage cost is $5.4/mile. "Different markets" is their claim. And, even the delivery fee has doubled. And, of course, the 4 day window for scheduling a delivery is actually 7. They have me over a barrel and I'm paying for it. read more

I purchased a home where the previous owner used pods to move their personal belongings. Where it was placed in the driveway blocked both bays of the double car garage. The previous owner, said PODS told her this was the best they could do (in terms of positioning) and that it would be picked up on Saturday @ 1pm, we were scheduled to take possession of the house Friday (day before PODS was scheduled to pick up.) Since we didn't have any choice in the matter(at that point we were homeless because sold our last house) we went along with it. It is now Monday and PODS still has not picked up the previous owners belongings. No one from PODS could tell us when it will picked up. They told me they would call back with an update, I have not received one. PODS told us this occurred because a truck broke down - really? You only have one truck? We purchased this home, in part, because it has a three car garage (we have three vehicles because my husband has a work car.). Presently I can only park one car in my new home's driveway because of PODS. When you have someone move your personal property, you do this with the expectation that whomever is moving it will protect your property. Leaving it in someone else's driveway (when the moving company is unreliable) is a risky situation. At some point I am pretty sure I have the right to take possession of said stuff in my driveway and make it go away. The movers we used stated that PODS in this area are terrible and consistently run at least a few hours late. My recommendation is, If you want your personal property to be safe. Get bids from other moving companies or rent a UHaul and some local movers through their site you; will be a lot better off. read more

I read the reviews on yelp and know when dealing with a company as large as this, there is gonna be A LOT of negative reviews. I actually had a good experience with PODs, but then again I did not move across the country and only dealt with the "Los Angeles" location which is actually in Compton. I signed up on-line and knew that I would need storage for at least 6 months. Since I committed to 6 months they waived the drop off and pick up fees. In June they dropped it off and the driver was professional and easy to talk to (in fact both drop off drivers were cool). They call before they arrive and give you about a 30 minute window to let you know they are on their way. Filled the POD up and called them to come pick it up which they did no problem. I know there are issues with damage, but I secured everything tight and knew that whatever I put in the POD would be moving around on the road. 7 months later I scheduled the return drop off and they came right on time. Opened the POD up and some stuff had moved around, but I had enough sense not to put the expensive breakable stuff where it could shatter. I will say that the items do shift some and a shovel I put in ended up wedging the roll up door, but after some work I got it open. Price was $200 a month for the largest POD they offer. Places where you store it yourself run about that much, but the ease of having this thing in your driveway and filling it up at your leisure is awesome and worth the money. Like I said, my experience with PODs was good. I did all the setting up on-line and only dealt with one location, I had a driveway at both locations which the POD could be dropped into, and I was relatively careful with packing all the items inside. Had to move from NY to LA with less than a weeks notice. Spent a lot of time researching and settled on PODS and an 8'x8'x16'. After reading all the horrible reviews and experiences I was pretty scared - but I guess I just got lucky. It was a simple transaction. Yes, the original "sale" was a bit of a game. I called 3-4 times to finally get the best price and a sales rep I felt I could talk to that wasn't pressuring me. I did negotiate and I was able to have them drop off and pick up on the exact days I needed. I had the sales rep call and confirm with the local offices to check what days were available and what days they were closed before I placed the order. Office closures accounted for 2 additional days to the trip. Confirm beforehand that they can access both your locations - They sent smaller (single pod) delivery trucks to our locations. Tell them where you want the door to face BEFORE they load it on the truck for delivery. They update the website with your delivery info but I still called midway to confirm where the POD was and that delivery was on time. I had no problems getting them on the phone. Delivery & Pickup was painless. They called me to tell me they were running a few hours late on the first delivery. I assumed this would happen, so I blocked out the day. I stayed home to make sure they placed the unit where I wanted (Make sure you have room and no overhead branches etc...). Since I was going cross country they delivered a plastic unit with a wood floor. It had a translucent top so you could see inside during the day. At night you're on your own for light. I do wish it had more mounting points to tie to. The unit had 2 in the rear, 2 in the middle and 2 in the front. We packed it full and with tons of padding so there wasn't much movement, but I could see this being a problem if you didn't pack tightly. We bought 2 locks for the door. You can pack the back part of the unit to the ceiling, but when the rolling door is up, it blocks the top 1/2 of the unit by about 6-8 inches, so keep that in mind when you're packing. Check to make sure it will open and close. Our rolling door didn't go completely to the floor. We weren't storing the unit, but if I was I would have put down some bug & rodent traps just in case. Keep in mind, you don't have to be there for pickup. Delivery cross country took 11 days. On the LA side delivery & pick up was uneventful - dare I say smooth. They had actually been to our area before and new how to position the POD on the driveway and placed wood blocks underneath so it didn't rock. So I had 7 days to packt, 11 days cross country and 12 days to unpack. No storage for us. All in all I would use them again, but again...maybe I just got lucky! read more

At 8 o clock in the morning, our Pod was delivered. The wrong POD, but a POD none the less. They ended up giving us the bigger size. A nice gesture would of been to let us load our things; but instead, we had to wait two hours for the driver to come back and pick it up after his supervisor demanded it. I spoke to her on the phone, and she did not empathize with our situation. We were planning a same day drop off and pick (which we paid extra for), and had to be on the road the following morning. The PODS were switched out and we packed everything just before they came back in time to pick it up. After a month had gone by, we were charged the storage fee (which I expected), but it was 50 dollars more than I had anticipated. It was the amount that was quoted for the larger POD. When I called customer service to resolve the issue I spoke with Judy first. She was extremely apathetic and dismissive. Judy put me on hold to speak with the floor manager, Celina. Celina was even worse. She told me the amount I was paying was $10,000 in insurance, and that should of been told to me over the phone. It was not because I would never pay over $200 a month in storage fees for a container the size of a walk-in closet. Celina was constantly talking over me, and spoke at a speed that would force people to not understand the situation, and to say yes unknowingly. Essentially, Celina said an investigation team was going to look into the phone call, and see if the sales representative told me the correct amount over the phone. None of that bothers me, they have a business to run and don't need to take unnecessary losses. However, this was the second error on their part, and no one has tried to whole-heartedly work with me on anything. Their mistakes seem to be my inconveniences. Also, I'd like to add, this is not cheap. We are totaling close to $3,000 for their services, and everyone has been condescending and impatient. If someone decides to use them, they are gambling. And I would recommend using one of their competitors. U-Haul offers a very similar program for roughly the same cost. read more

This is a terrible company. I used them for local temporary storage Fall 2012. The concept is great, but they are terribly disorganized. Delivery was late and pick up was even later. Guy refused to come out because of the snow. We had to negotiate with them to NOT charge us the extra month because their employee refused to come out, not because we hadn't ordered the pick up. Due to multiple problems with my moving company for a long-distance move, I tried to use them again and they again failed to confirm the moving and pickup dates on the reservation summary, even though I had gone over these dates in "EXQUISITE DETAIL" with the intake person. It took literally 4 phone calls to get everything right. And their associated partners "Moving Staffers" is an equal disorganized joke. See my review of them next. Bottom line, use only for temporary storage if you DON'T have any time constraints. Verify the order summary ad nauseum. I suspect most of these complaints have something to do with the people taking the orders and not getting the details correct. read more

The POD driver packed into our new brick mailbox. The damage is $350. The driver and manager both said they would take care of it. A month later they are no returning calls. POD headquarters has done nothing. The person who is suppose to be my customer service advocate only advocates for Pods. In addition to the damages they over charged in $475.00. the only way I get that is if I sign away any rights on other claims. Every wonder why pods doesn't have a lot of bad reviews. Well the reason is they will only settle a claim if you agree to not says anything bad...and removed anything you already said. That sounds like a very dishonest company. In short they owe me almost $800.00. I truly believe it is more. However they will not share the recording without a court order. What are they hiding. Why are they afraid of. I had a perfect experience with PODS. They delivered the POD on time, and the driver called me when he was on his way there. They picked it up on time, and stored it in Anaheim for me while I was between homes. They re-delivered it on time (the driver called me on his way there again), and I got to see it delivered. Super-cool machine they have! I was ready to have it picked up two days earlier than I thought I would be, and they picked it up within hours when I called to reschedule the pickup. It rained heavily while my things were in storage, and my stuff stayed completely dry. I had a perfect experience with them, and would use them again! read more

We sold our house and PODS had told us they were going to pick it up on Friday 9/30, the date of our closing and the date of the new homeowners. The company called us and said they "couldn't come today because it's wet outside and maybe by Wednesday" they should be there - which is 5 days later!!!! This customer service is absolutely horrific. We are at the mercy of this moving company because we obviously cannot move this storage unit by ourselves! Very poor customer service. My recommendation is that POD has a policy that if there is anything wrong with your card they only notify you with 1 email. Due to my schedule I missed that email. They called while I was on another line to mention that they cancelled my reservation which was the next day. I called back within 30 seconds of receiving that message but to find out that my delivery was now filled with someone elses order and that I had to rearrange my moving schedule until Saturday. WT? Really? they take the time out to tell me they are cancelling but they don't take the time out to call to say there is a problem with my card. Driver picking up container not only showed up 2 hours late past the given time frame, but no apologies from customer service other than, "well, the time frame is not set in stone or guaranteed." Additionally, the driver picking up the container drove on to the lawn and curb, ruining both. The Claims department rejects my claim, stating the disclaimer protects them from damages and the "grass will bounce back up." Citizens of America, beware, PODS drivers have no responsibility to you or your property as they are sheltered by their disclaimer. This company is a laughingstock. I wish I could give this company NO STARS!!! I should have paid attention to all the one stars they have!!! Their lack of interest AFTER the money hit their account is unbelievable!!!! I am moving from LA to GA, and this is the whole deal: 1st call - very pleasant girl answers the phone and give me the whole run down of how much my card will be billed. She convinces me that it would be better for me to have the pod be dropped off and picked up the same day so I could move my 2 bedroom apartment. The window she gave me: drop off between 7:30-9:30am, pick up between 12:30-1;30pm. She was so friendly that she looked at googlemaps for my location to give me the best way of dropping off the pod (where it would be facing). I was to call back when I had my destination address. We closed off the call when she ran down the whole order and gave me the price. I took note of all she was telling me. 2nd call - I called back to let them know where to drop off the pod at my new place. Then the person on the phone tells me how much my order will come to... AND IT WAS NOT THE SAME!!! I was shocked!!! I told her that I was suggested a same day drop off/pick up because "I could get a ticket and still have to deal with the pod being towed". I told her that I had to have the pod here no later than 2pm because I had to deal with hiring people to move my stuff. I was very upset and told her what I do in cases of company that have no integrity: I go to their CEO's!!! And I have done it many times before. She then changes things around, I told her that I wanted a two day stay of the container in front of my building anyways. She does whatever and the price goes back to the first quote I was given. She tells me that they will be calling me after 5pm of the day BEFORE the drop off. 3rd call - I called them the third time because I was quoted a drop off time from 2-5pm. I wanted to see what I could do, because, just like I have said to the second girl I spoke to, I could not do anything because they could be here at 5pm and it would be too late for me to do anything. And that I had appointments and meetings at work that I could not change past 5pm the previous day. I explained the person on the phone that I had called twice and that I almost canceled it because of the changing of the pricing and adding stuff to my order instead of educating me on their services. The answer: "sir, the reason we let you know after 5pm is because you have until 4pm to cancel your order. After 5pm there is actually no one to help you here with anything. If you want, I can cancel your order, but there will be a charge for me to do so." I could not believe what I was hearing!!!!! Then he added: "you did not order same day service sir!" I said: why are you calling me a liar right after suggesting me be brainless? He said: I am not calling you a liar, just letting you know that you said you had ordered same day service and you did not! You can call and try to talk to someone tomorrow. But it is pretty much what I just told you: if you want to cancel, I can do it for a charge, and if not, we will be there the time we said: between 2-5pm. I cannot stand to work with companies that have no integrity and do not respect the consumer. PODS was very respectful until they charged my credit card. After they did just that, they have no concern and really do not care to let you realize they just wanted your money and do absolutely nothing for you as a customer. I will NEVER use PODS again. Very lousy phone support, long long long wait times...local manager never called me back after I had a question....pod arrived dirty...its a simple way for extra storage but the hassle of customer service is not worth it...I will try the competition next time....web site is not user friendly when determining pick up....rather silly navigation...is says delivery, but no indication of pick up.... read more

I made the mistake of deciding to go with the biggest name is container storage. Big mistake. Very unhelpful customer service. Fees all over the place. If you have to change your order in the slightest extra fees are added. Read the contract they make you sign carefully. Also our pod arrived with a hole. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

Something you might want to know before you get a POD. 1. You going to be charged for a month even if you get it pick up a day after you pay for that month. They do not discount your month. 2. They do not just pick up the next day. It could be a a week or more. 3. If they say it free there is something they will charge you but on the back end. 4. Do not call to ask why all these charges are not discounted for the month because they do not care it is the way they make money. I could have hired movers and rented a storage unit for a lot less money but thought it would be great to have the unit on site. It cost me a lot more then you going to pay the other way save your money do not use PODS. read more

The service would have been ok if the last driver didn't manage to take out the telephone lines leading to our house. We had 2 PODS delivered & taken away and the first 3 drivers were fine. The last one went over our lawn and took out our telephone lines! Also they recommended Pack & Load for the packing service who were absolutely TERRIBLE. They broke and damaged lots of furniture, small electrical items and personal stuff. Some of which they obviously managed to break and then packaged up broken! They only offer a maximum of $250 for all items and don't let this on until you come to claim. I will never use either again. read more

PODS no-showed twice! They dropped off the POD then picked it up full of our stuff and took it back to their storage center with no issues so they get a star for this. The trouble came when the date arrived for the POD to be delivered to our new house. I received a confirmation the night before the scheduled delivery date but the next day the time window came and went... and the POD never arrived. It was a later window, so I called the next morning (I'm on the west coast and the customer service is on east coast time so it closes up by 7). There was no explanation for the no-show, but we rescheduled it for 2 days later. My delivery window the second time was 11:30-2:30 and when I hadn't heard anything by 2:10 (they're supposed to call 30 minutes prior), I reached out to the customer service line. They assured me it was late - but coming. 3 hours pass. No POD. I contact them again at 6 and was told it is definitely STILL COMING. Guess what folks, it NEVER came. Will we ever get our stuff back? Who knows. PODS are more expensive than most modular storage companies. Don't expect better customer service. read more

As a long distance mover, I have gotten calls from several moving companies that cease to stop. PODS had reached out to me after a pricey estimate from Indianapolis, IN to West Palm Beach, FL, but the personal and online representative never answered ANY of my questions about pricing (is it based on weight, feet used, date, etc) After attempting to call my personal rep 3 times with no answer and 2 emails with no answers to any of my questions, I decided to take my business elsewhere for a better price. Don't even know where to start except to tell you not to use this company. I used PODS for six month at which time I had it returned to my home. I scheduled a pick up three days later (Jul 30). However, they never picked the empty pod nor call me as to why it was still sitting on my driveway. When i called them they told me that their truck was broken and that they would pick it up as soon as their truck was fixed. Additionally, I was told that they would waive next month fee. Are you kidding me, I said. I wasn't renting for another month. I called numerous time and they eventually said they would pick it up on Jul 11. I had major construction in progress at my home. The pod which was in my driveway was interfering with the workers and i could park either one of my two cars. I advised them that I was charging them $50 a day for use of my driveway to no avail. I eventually had to get an attorney to get them to remove it. Nonetheless, it still took 9 days before they picked it up. Apparently, I am not the only one that experienced problems with this company. There were other things but I will end it here. read more

This is the WORST company for customer service that I have ever encountered in my life and that is no exaggeration. I called THREE months ago to get a quote for a move. I called back a week later to lock it in. Apparently the agent made an error and locked it in for the date of my first call so now the quote for the date the POD is supposed to arrive is over $600 more. They admitted their mistake and told me there's nothing they can do. They were just calling to tell me the quote was now higher. They did not even apologize. This thing is supposed to get here in a WEEK and they are just calling to tell me it's $600 more. They told me there was no one I could talk to, no way they could change it, it was their mistake, but I'm the one who is paying for it.
