I've been taking my kids to PM Pediatrics for years and they've always received great care. The doctors have consistently been kind, patient, and attentive. When the Atlantic Ave location closed, I started coming to this one. Yesterday I took my daughter and we saw Dr. Sonam Kapoor -- she is so sweet, and my daughters used to see her at the Atlantic Ave location as well. Unfortunately, today's experience was completely different. My daughter is still very uncomfortable, and despite trying everything, she wasn't feeling better, so I called for guidance. The doctor who answered was extremely rude. It's not what she said, but how she said it. She kept talking over me while I was trying to explain what was going on, and she ended up hanging up on me. I was in tears -- I'm just trying to help my daughter feel better. I called back and spoke with Shana at the front desk, and she was no help at all. I asked for the doctor's name so I could make a proper complaint, and she refused to give it to me. Instead, she ignored my questions and continued talking to someone in the background without even placing me on hold. I was shocked by this level of unprofessionalism, especially from a place I've trusted for so long. I work in healthcare, and I would never speak to a parent the way I was spoken to today. Shana told me I could call corporate, but how am I supposed to file a complaint when she won't provide the doctor's name? This experience has truly changed how I feel about this location. Unless things drastically improve, I don't think I'll be returning. Both the doctor I spoke with and Shana at the front desk need serious training in professionalism, empathy, and basic communication. read more

Came here last night close to closing time and they were able to see my son and treat him for croup. Everyone was very nice and friendly. There was a bit of a wait but that's to be expected when you're walking in at that time. my son was able to get dexamethasone and prevent going to the hospital. I would highly recommend this place. the front desk person, the nurse and the doctor were all very kind and helpful. read more

I've visited PM Pediatric Urgent Care a few times now when my child's pediatrician is closed, and every experience has been excellent. As a first-time mom, I really appreciate the reassurance and care I receive when I can't take my baby to his primary care. The doctors are always kind, patient, and knowledgeable, and they take the time to answer all my questions and explain everything clearly. Checking in is quick and easy, and the times I've walked in, it hasn't been too busy so I've been in and out fairly fast. But honestly, even if I had to wait two hours if my baby's primary care office was closed, I would, just to make sure my baby gets seen. They've also sent prescriptions right away, so I've been able to walk straight to CVS down the block and pick everything up without any delay. It makes a stressful situation so much easier. I don't write reviews often but I'm so thankful for this place and highly recommend it to other parents! read more

Don't bring your kids here, you're better off just going to the emergency room. My daughter needed an albuterol treatment that we didn't have access to and it was after pharmacy hours. We brought her in around 9:40pm. Google says they are open til midnight but when we arrived we were told they closed at 10pm and they see their last patient at 9:30p. At that point I wish they would have just sent us to the emergency room bc they wasted our time and costed us money. The doctor had no bedside manner, in fact she had an urgency that did not appear for my daughter but agitated bc she wanted to go home. I actually overheard in the hallway, "we just called an ambulance so they can handle it". My daughter's oxygen levels did in fact drop to 92 when it should be 95 but when they put her on the breathing treatment while we waited for the ambulance she returned to normal. Now on my own behalf I didn't know you could refuse the ambulance once they've been called. We were parked right out front and could have driven my daughter to the ER but instead will get that charge. The ER visit was unnecessary and something that could have been handled by the doctor at PM if she actually cared. The visit resulted in 2 breathing treatments and a new prescription for albuterol. Instead we spent 6 more hours and a lot of money between ambulance and ER. read more

Came here for pediatric urgent care - the only one that I can find open near park slope on Sunday after 6pm (7 days 10am-10pm) for a dislocated arm. New patient, walk in. In and out within 20 min with no wait after checking in. Happy kid after. Can't say nothing bad. They even have the xray available if needed. Great option for small but urgent issues. read more

I don't know what is happening at this urgent care. It used to be good not anymore. The wait time is so long now, you have to get the pm pediatric app otherwise the front desk lady is gonna give you a hard time. I know they want everything touch less because of Covid but not everyone wants to have the app on their phone. The self check in machine was good in my opinion regardless of Covid. The front desk lady is very rude and have some attitude problem (African American) she was whispering to herself how stressed out she was with all the patients coming in. She can't handle that position with poise. We can hear you getting stressed out and giving attitude to everyone. Please give more training to the front desk staff. To those women working in the front desk "stop with the attitude and be kind" the patient is there because their kid is sick and need some help! To the manager reading this, please train your staff to be more kind and keep their poise during busy times. We get that you are shortage of workers but at least make the place run smoothly rather than giving everyone a hard time with an app. read more

We were just here on a weekday around 530p. After reading the reviews, we were skeptical coming here for the first time. However the staff here were beyond amazing. Front desk (Xiao), med tech (Mariel) to Dr Patel all were professional, full of patience, kids friendly, stellar bedside manner and friendly. Front desk and exam rooms: Check in was fast via the electronic notepad. The decor of the entire office is barn and farm animals. My little one loves farm animals. Cute environment. Many exam rooms equip with up to date furniture and equipment. Cartoon playing in each room. Farm animal decor and sticker pictures on wall. Very clean throughout. The front desk temp can be a little lower. Heat was on super high and we felt just a tab bit uncomfortable esp with my little one running a fever. Overall that didn't bother us at all because it was cold out. I'd rather have heat than no heat at all. Mariel: Ms King wore a name tag with X-ray tech on it. She was beyond amazing . Super friendly, professional and full of patience. Explained everything and made the environment less scary for my little one. Prior taking the temp with her scanner, she demonstrated on daddy first then to my little guy. My little one can see it's not that scary cuz daddy did it too. I've never seen anyone with this approach and I thank her for it. Dr Sonia Patel: Great bedside manner. Not sure which md the prior reviews were for but it's def not describing Dr Patel. She's full of compassion, super friendly and very professional. She took her time to remove my little guys earwax and explained everything to us in laymen's term. Tested my little one for flu and strep. Result came back quickly. We do not wish to come back here only because We do not want my little one to be sick, however, we will def not hesitate if need be. read more

My toddler needed to see a doctor after our pediatrician's hours, so we came to the Bensonhurst location of PM Pediatrics to get him checked out. Everyone in the office was incredibly friendly, supportive, and great with kids. Dr. Crosby patiently answered all of my many questions about his condition, and the x-ray tech was fantastic at explaining the details of what she was doing every step of the way. (They have an x-ray machine on site, which is also a huge plus.) It's hard to consistently get those types of explanations and answers at my own medical visits, so I really appreciated them taking the time to do that and to do whatever they could to help make my child comfortable during the process. I would return here if we ever needed pediatric urgent care after-hours again. read more

As a pediatric front desk receptionist, the receptionist that was there on the day when i decided to visit has absolutely no people skills. Honestly, you're "just" the receptionist, but you're really the face of the office, the first person a patient/parent comes to when they have an issue. Clearly, im here because there's something wrong with my child (we did end up at the ER). Then when I ask a question, as the receptionist, you shouldn't be brushing me off and not giving me a proper reply. I was here prior to the covid outbreak with my older child for a similar issue and i had no issues then. read more

Came here last week when our son's temperature spiked up to 104 at home. By the time we arrived, it was 105. Upon arriving, the receptionist asked me to fill out the paperwork via my phone. Knowing that paperwork would take a while, I told the receptionist that my son was unwell and had a high temperature. I asked if someone could see him first. She spoke to the nurse and they immediately took us into an examination room, informing us that we could do the paperwork later. The room itself was clean and the nurse triaged him was so nice and patient. The doctor came in a while later and he was also pleasant. Took the time to answer questions and offer suggestions. All in all, we had a good experience during an unpleasant time. While I would normally say, "I'll be coming back," like all my other reviews, I do not wish to ever come back for any type of emergencies for my son. read more

I had a similar experience with The reviewer Jessica T. I can deal with the wait, I get things are different now and to expect to be seen at your appointment time is highly unlikely. I took my son Aaron in after he had a fever and cough for over 5 days. The doctor checked his ear and throat and said no infection and to come back if it does not get better in a few days. The same night my son's fever shot up to 103 and he could not stop coughing while laying down. Took him to the ER at Maimonides and turns out he does have a throat infection and possible pneumonia. Results pending as I'm writing this review sitting in the ER. I think this may be avoided if he was properly diagnosed and prescribed anti-biotics for the infection. read more

We have been at this place multiple times. Out of the doctors we saw, Dr. Ao is the best! He was professional and nice to talk to. He listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. However, there was a female doctor (dark skinned) we saw before , and she was rude and told my son to stop crying and be quiet. I'm glad she is no longer there! Dr. Patel and her team have my thanks. We had to take my son into PM Pediatric this last week. While I don't want to go into detail, we were very concerned. Their staff were polite and professional, took blood samples and X-rays, and made our son feel better. Dr. Patel followed up with us several times, advised us to also take him for an examination with his normal doctor, and also gave us next steps if we needed to go the ER. My 20 month old son had a fever that wouldn't break so I decided to bring him in to PM pediatrics. I've taken him to PM Pediatrics located on Atlantic Avenue before and we had a great experience but it's unfortunate that I can't say the same for his last visit. Upon our arrival at 3pm, he was taken instantly to check his vitals since we were the only ones in the waiting room, which I felt was a great start. The nurse took his temperature of 100.2 using a forehead thermometer and asked if he was given anything for the fever. I told her I given him Ibuprofen at 11 earlier that day. She continued to take his vitals and asked us to wait for the doctor. Dr. Anne Butler came in right after and diagnosed him with a viral upper respiratory tract infection and told us that he will be okay and continue to care for him as I've been doing. After leaving the office -- my son had his first febrile seizure on the way home in the car and was rushed to the ER. His fever spiked to 104.9. I understand that the seizure was caused by how quickly his temperature shot up in a short period of time but I do believe that his temperature reading at PM pediatrics was inaccurate and do believe that they should've done more for him. As professionals, the nurse and doctor should have given the option of a rectal, oral, or forehead temperature reading. As a parent, I thought I was coming to "professionals" for help. I shouldn't have to later find out at the ER that forehead thermometers are very inaccurate when it comes to a squirmy, sick and uncomfortable 20 month old boy. After our horrible experience, I came home and contacted headquarters about my experience. I got a call back later that afternoon from Dr. Patel, who apologized repeatedly and told my husband and I that she will have a talk with the girls about giving parents different options of temperature readings instead of assuming that rectal is "too invasive" and for my son to come back and get a consultation to see how he's doing. I asked for the return of my $50 copay since I feel that my son was completely failed by PM Pediatrics but Dr. Patel has still yet to return my call. With all of that being said -- I just hope that my child's horrific experience will be an eye opener for Dr. Patel and her team. We are worried parents who come in seeking help from these so called professionals but yet end up in the ER just minutes after being seen from Urgent Care because his vitals weren't properly taken. read more

Don't even bother I brought both my kids here for a check up. (My son had a bad fever, my daughter a rash) We checked in at about 6p and waited for over 2 hours! Correct if am wrong but isn't the whole point of an urgent care clinic is to be seen urgently?! Would of been better going to Methodist Hospital. Shortly after my post I received a follow up comment from PM pediatrics (possibly QA) She explained that one of their branches recently closed in the area which explained the delays in service at the Bensonhurst PM pediatrics branch. I note that she encouraged feedback which is refreshing. I do like it when an organization takes ownership of issues brought up by patrons. I will also note when we were finally seen, the doctor who treated my son and daughter had an excellent bedside manner and my children were immediately receptive to her. I give this location 3 stars because it was clean, new and the receptionist was very helpful. We went late at night because my daughter fell off the bed and while she was ok, we wanted to be sure she was seen by an MD. The doctor on duty was not empathetic at all. While i understand it is hard to manage parents who are emotional because their children are not well, she had ZERO caring or empathy. She was very cold and while she gave my daughter sound medical care, i would go to another PM pediatrics if given the choice. read more

I hope this message is referred to the right parties in order to address the unprofessional attitude given to my son. I am speaking on behalf of my two year old son who recently went there to the facility. The medical professional who attended my son was very unprofessional. My fiancé states the acclaimed medical professional said "don't get your baby COVID on me", in pure disgust, because my son did not want to take medicine at the moment in time and had spit up. This individual is apparently Caucasian. As a mother and apart of the medical field, I am offended and furious such behavior is acceptable especially at a children's facility. I am disgusted at the disrespect my child was given. I am disgusted this individual might have acted upon my son and fiancé such way due to their race. This individual should be ashamed for the inconvenience and disrespect that was given. Great experience once again at PM Pediatrics. My entire experience was smooth from beginning to end. Lorna Young, the receptionist at the front desk, was kind and helpful even while be bombarded with questions and phone calls. It definitely makes it easier if you have the app before arriving since the majority of the check-in process is done through the app. This can be done and set up at home which will help with the check- in process since you have to enter photo ID and insurance card pictures. It is very clean and we were updated regarding wait times personally by the doctor on staff. read more

Came in on a Friday night because my son needed an X-ray of his wrist for his basketball injury that happened late in the evening. Walked into the waiting room and was told there were 4 people ahead of us so we waited. When we walked into the room the nurse came in with a sticky note and asked details of what happened then the rude dr came in squeezed my sons wrist after being told that he was in a lot of pain and told us he needed an X-ray but there was no X-ray technician on site so we had to return in the morning so he splinted the wrist for the night. Here we are Saturday afternoon(they don't open until noon), sat in the waiting room for 35 mins because the dr hadn't arrived yet, finally get called in for an X-ray and had to sit in the exam room for a long time while they sent the X-rays to the radiologist at a different location to read the results and determine if the wrist is actually broken. Aggravated is an understatement. While dealing with this whole the waiting room was extremely warm AND let me not forget the best part. Someone walked in with Covid symptoms and was not told to sit separately so that put everyone else at risk. Why not have a separate space for Covid testing instead of doing everting in one space where you are possibly infecting others. NEVER coming here again read more

The Bensonhurst office is a lot smaller than the other offices, but it's adorable. Every Dr is so nice and my kids are not scared at all when they go there. They always get treats and stickers when they are finished and never cry. One time my son had stitches and the nurse put on a gel and he loved her. Another time my daughter had a strep test and she didn't even cry. I think this smaller, more personal office makes the experience a lot different for the kids. Never go to the ER, or adult Urgent Care. PM Pediatrics is the only place to go when your kids are sick and your Dr isn't open unless it's a real emergency. read more

Dr. Patel is amazing! She is so thorough and caring. This was the first visit to a doctor where I felt like my child actually left feeling better. Unlike other walk-ins, we weren't just tossed out with a prescription in hand. Dr. Patel took the time to do a saline rinse and check on my little guy often to see how he was doing with the medication she administered. Little details like gatorade, animal crackers, ice pops, and even the cute decor really cheered up my little guy too. We were so grateful to stumble upon this place while visiting the area and my son fell ill. Thank you to all the staff! read more

the location is clean and new, enough distractions for the baby to look at (posters and fun paintings on the walls), ample room in the waiting area as well as patients rooms. the staff at front desk is nice and prompt, and the medical staff are fantastic. we were seen promptly as soon as we walked in (check in process took a few minutes although we were first time patient). the doctor had stellar bedside manners and was able to diagnose right away as soon as the baby coughed. she explained our options and answered all our questions. i highly recommend - especially during those "worst" hours when all tends to happen to little children - you have a place to go! read more
