I made an appointment for 12:45, and although we were taken to a room right away, the experience went downhill from there. The doctor who saw my father seemed like he had no clue what he was doing. He told us my dad tested negative, then randomly asked if he wanted antibiotics--without explaining what they were for. I had to ask. He then said, "It could be an upper respiratory infection." Could be? I need a doctor to be sure, not guess. He didn't prescribe anything because my dad is on multiple medications. My dad told the doctor to call his nephrologist to see what he can prescribe him since he's on multiple medications. I called this morning only to find out they're not prescribing anything since it's viral--information that was never told to us yesterday. And being told to follow up with his nephrologist made no sense at all. That's a kidney doctor. What does that have to do with a respiratory illness? The supervisor at the desk was really nice and the only person who seemed to know what she was doing. But overall, they seriously need REAL doctors who are confident, clear, and knowledgeable. I would NEVER go back to another CityMD. I'd rather sit in the emergency room--at least I know I'll be seen by real doctors who know what they're doing.

I knew I wouldn't be able to get into see my OBGYN until the following week, and since I was pregnant, I figured I better play it safe and get checked out. My insurance was sent a bill for $770 for the yeast infection test (a simple swab test), of which I was made to pay $180 out of pocket! An over the counter test at CVS costs $20. This is insanity.

I then drove over and waited in my car until Sue gave me a call and then I walked right into the testing space. Alex carefully took down a list of my symptoms and administered my test in full gear. Then I waited 20 *frantic* minutes for my rapid results. That's when I got dreaded news that I was positive (despite being super cautious snd ALWAYS wearing my mask). PA Daniel Iannello was AMAZING in calming my nerves and telling me everything I should do to keep others safe and take care of myself. If I had gotten this news from anyone else, I would have 100% had a panic attack but he kept me in good spirits and handled the situation with the utmost bedside manner and grace. I left there feeling *positive* in spirit (and with COVID, since I was definitely having a bunch of symptoms), and I can't thank the staff here enough. This was something I had been doing everything to avoid, but everyone at this ProHealth location gave me a sense of normalcy and their best advice. I will also say there were no other patients in the waiting room so they really have their COVID procedures in place in an effort to keep everyone safe. It's been 10+ days since testing positive and I am officially NEGATIVE and so happy this experience is over. Just missing my sense of taste and smell. I am truly so thankful for everyone at ProHealth for providing me with great care on one of the scariest mornings. If you are having symptoms or think you have been exposed, you should absolutely get tested at any available testing center. But if you have a choice of where to get your test, this ProHealth location reigns supreme in my book.

She left the room maybe 10 minutes later (longest part of the visit) she came back and said it was a ganglion cyst. Not to worry about it, that it would go away on its own and to try warm compress to sooth the pain. So we try the warm compress and it did nothing at all. We end up going to an orthopedic surgeon and it turns out it was a tumor. Moral of story, avoid this place! Being rushed and giving a false diagnose without even really trying to touch it or examine it isn't acceptable.

When the Atlantic Ave location closed, I started coming to this one. Yesterday I took my daughter and we saw Dr. Sonam Kapoor -- she is so sweet, and my daughters used to see her at the Atlantic Ave location as well. Unfortunately, today's experience was completely different. My daughter is still very uncomfortable, and despite trying everything, she wasn't feeling better, so I called for guidance. The doctor who answered was extremely rude. It's not what she said, but how she said it. She kept talking over me while I was trying to explain what was going on, and she ended up hanging up on me. I was in tears -- I'm just trying to help my daughter feel better. I called back and spoke with Shana at the front desk, and she was no help at all. I asked for the doctor's name so I could make a proper complaint, and she refused to give it to me. Instead, she ignored my questions and continued talking to someone in the background without even placing me on hold. I was shocked by this level of unprofessionalism, especially from a place I've trusted for so long. I work in healthcare, and I would never speak to a parent the way I was spoken to today. Shana told me I could call corporate, but how am I supposed to file a complaint when she won't provide the doctor's name? This experience has truly changed how I feel about this location. Unless things drastically improve, I don't think I'll be returning. There was a bit of a wait but that's to be expected when you're walking in at that time. my son was able to get dexamethasone and prevent going to the hospital.
