Um, it's pizza. Is there anything else you have to know? Maybe there's a few things. Like whether it's good or not. That depends on how many bars you've been to. It's no Avalanche. That pizza is pretty good no matter the state of your mind. This pizza is very average. It seems to be a small regional chain. The menu also has subs. A small pizza is about $10, which is still too much. This is not gourmet level pizza. They have delivery. It's recommended over eating inside. The place is pretty filthy and don't you even think of using the bathrooms in there. read more

pizza was great, got devoured...but not what i ordered.My roommates and i did the 3 medium 2 topping pizzas for 20$ deal and each customized our own. I ordered a pepperoni pizza with a ranch drizzle and fresh basil i received neither of these. Their version of fresh basil was what seemed to be dried italian seasoning flakes from a canister. Their version of ranch drizzle, or so i was told, is apparently cooked under the cheese and resulted in no flavor of ranch. (crazy because my roommates pesto drizzle was on top?) Am i crazy to have expected a beautiful swirl of cold ranch on my pizza Maybe a menu update to actually reflect the ingredients used? The man behind the counter was arrogant and treated me as though i was incompetent when I returned and pointed out the issue. There was no visible ranch or basil on my pizza. Our first trip to this place was great. I read reviews on Google and all were positive except one but there's always one lol. We ordered breadsticks and a deluxe pizza. The breadsticks came out in under 10 minutes and were hot and, had we known how good, we would have ordered the 8 count so it's good we didn't know. The deluxe pizza arrived not long after we finished breadsticks so it was perfectly timed and perfectly hot! Our server was also the pizza preparer and was prompt and courteous and eager for us to like his pizza. We loved it! I would definitely eat here again! I have had delivery to hotel coast to coast and I have to say Plus 1 Pizza-Athens is the only one I've given five stars to for a delivery in this region. I read the one bad review and I'm thinking that person needs to have their taste buds examined! My delivery was perfect. The pizza itself is on par with Donato's, Dominos, or Pizza Hut-i.e. nothing special at all. The prices are on par with Avalanche, which makes me think Plus One had no idea what they were doing when they opened in Athens. The pizza was just alright. The taste reminded me of a fresher verion of a frozen pizza. I went with the robust sauce, not horrible just alright. I also had the chesse bread. Basically their pizza minus the sauce. There on line ordering didn't really work well on my phone, but I was eventually able to order. I called to find out if they had a thin-crust. They said they did. I am going to use a benchmark here that is so low that most pizza lovers will laugh at me. Benchmark: Domino's Thin-Crust pep+cheese, extra pep. At Plus 1, the crust is not a thin crust. It is a medium crust, twice as thick. Both the crust and the sauce is extra-sweet, which is a huge no-no. Smacks of lots of corn-syrup. The xtra pep???? Half of reg.pep. The taste? Apart from sweet (re: the corn syrup) --- BLAH. $12.45 vs Dominos (I know, laugh at me, but for GOD"S SAKE, CAN SOMEONE AROUND HERE MAKE AN HONEST THIN-CRUST????) Yeah. Goodfellas is fantastic and has been in my years as an undergrad. Recently, however, one worker would refuse my request for crust pieces and having a box to walk a long distance home. Athens has loads of mediocre pizza places and this one is an addition to the list. My boyfriend got a large and I got a medium. His seemed to be a better made pizza then mine but neither was great and their inconsistencies suggest a quality control problem. Plus One advertises their quality ingredients but this is just your average assembly line pizza that tastes like the cardboard they package it in. I'm so sick of bad pizza in Athens. I was hoping this would be different but alas Athens remains a hidden gold mine for anyone that wants to come into town and open an authentic pizzeria. read more

The food is great-I will give them that. The punctuality of the delivery is where the problem is. I called in a 9 person order at 10:30 telling them that I needed it before noon. We have lunch from 12-12:20. I called at noon when I still did not have it and at 12:15 again. At 12:18 they showed up. There is no "flex time" in our lunch schedule so the employees may have gotten one bit of their order before they had to go back out on the floor. They do not make you wait forever like Avalanche, and they have tons of toppings to choose from, including just 3 different kinds of pepperoni alone. They have a rewards points system where you get free food after ordering a certain amount, and their customer service is great and even if they only run a few minutes late you get a $2 off coupon. My new favorite pizza place in Athens. I liked Avalanche's food but after they just didn't deliver my food one night and then didn't respond to my email demanding a refund (had to dispute with my CC company) I refused to eat there ever again. I find that the pizza sauce is too sweet at other chains in Athens, but this one actually tastes like pizza sauce :) Delivery is so good and the drivers are all kind.
