Papa John's is the other favorite among our household and folks we know, but some of our friends favor Domino's over Papa John's. The ingredients and indeed every single component of a modern Domino's pizza is a dramatic improvement over the ketchup and cardboard of the chain during the twentieth century, and the hand-tossed crust gets brushed with garlic butter and seasoning which tastes fantastic. The pan pizza doesn't normally get the garlic butter and seasoning treatment around the edges because the edges are so narrow but I've requested it before.

I was informed it would take 1.5 hours. I waited and came in, the cheese sticks was done but there was no pizza so the woman at the register said she would try and throw one together as soon as she finished her line and it would take 5 mins to go through the oven and I told her that was fine. My daughter and I waited and walked around the store for another 20 mins and as I stood by the pizza counter, the woman named Misty rudely looked at me and said that she does not have time to mess with putting pizza in and she had to get her customers done first. I informed her that I was a customer from 1.5 hours ago and she continued to argue with me. I told her what the other woman told me she was going to do and I was yelled at saying "well it will be another hour" so I said you know what, that is freaking fine with me. She walked away. Then had a call in order right after that and told the person on the phone that she would have their pizza done in 30-35 mins. Like WTF. She has had an attitude with her CO worker as wellEver since I walked in to the store. But once it was all calmed down, she apologized to me and was trying to be very nice. Oh, and the gas station also allows you to go into their store - something this Giovanni's no longer allows. In my opinion, the Covid-19 Pandemic revealed two different types of people running service businesses: 1. Those who almost gleefully celebrated the pandemic as an opportunity to offer their customers less, to lower their standards, eliminate services, make everything easier for themselves at the cost of making things worse for the customer, and 2. Those who came back stronger than ever, excited to not only continue their services, but to improve them. This Giovanni's is a disgrace and leads the pack in terms of businesses who fit into the first category. They are still operating, right now, many years after the 2020 pandemic, as if they are still in the midst of a worldwide shutdown. They have never returned to in-store service or dining, the building sits there looking like some post-apocalyptic, sad, abandoned shell of a business. My family has sworn them off, and we've become loyal customers to many other pizza places in town, including the gas station right down the street.
