Mid service and below average food. I thought I liked all pizza, I was wrong. I would be going back.

I saw the older woman serving us go back to the womens restroom (the sink was broken) and close the door for a few minutes, then come back out without going to the mens room and washing her hands. She then immediately grabbed our food and served us. She also didnt even use the hand sanitizer on the wall. Another customer had come out of the restroom and she directed them to use the hand sanitizer they had on the wall (which is not actually sanitary after using the restroom, you are supposed to use soap and water, but they had used the mens room already to wash their hands.) Also, the food is not good. Do not go here even though its one of the only options of places to sit down to eat in McArthur. Go to the grocery store down the street and save your money. read more

Just depends on the dough!!! They at times have the best pizza in southern Ohio, light, crispy, crackery...perfect for taste yet not heavy on the bread/carbs, adepquate toppings....other times it's average and at times below...the other food items they sell are sometimes better options than the pizzas but I usually do get a small at the very least. Driving through Ohio and we found this wonderful little place in the middle of town. The food was really good as well as the service. I'm thankful for being able to rely on my way up to final chips like this particularly when we're traveling in the middle of nowhere that is familiar to us. I just always love coming here when visiting. The pizza is one of the best. But my second favorite is the chopped steak with Mac n cheese on a freezing cold day. All the staff that work here are so sweet and friendly. I definitely recommend coming here on your way to Old Man's Cave. read more

Mama Renie's makes a good pizza, and we've never had a problem with anything we've tried. We've had a variety of subs, sandwiches, salads, and dinners, and everything is freshly prepared and served at the right temperature. The sweet tea is even good, and always fresh brewed. We've found service to be slow most of the time, and it seems that maybe they are frequently short staffed...maybe not, but that's just our perception. At any rate, it's worth the wait if you can be patient. The dining room is what you would expect at a small town place. It's nothing fancy but it's cozy, and it's always clean. Good little place overall! We enjoy country drives at night, which is usually when we visit for a late dinner. read more

We arrived Friday night about 7:30... place said to sit wherever but tables were all dirty with previous guests plates and drinks. After notifying a gal she called for someone in the back. It was busy but only saw 2 waitresses... she came out from back and took care of several tables but not ours. She actually took orders from another guest who must of been from the area. Wife had to ask for cups and table to be wiped. Ordered cheese sticks and meat lover pizza. Took forever to come out and other guests who arrived after us received their appetizers before us. We were staying nearby and went into town and drove by and decided to give it a shot. I am so glad we did. Between 6 of us we tried the chicken tenders, the French fries, the fried pickles, a garden salad, the onion rings, a meatball sub, the Viking burger with chips, and the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was absolutely delicious. The onion rings were hand breaded and perfectly fried. The Viking burger was the best bbq onion ring bacon burger I've had in a long long time. The bbq sauce was sweet and everything combined perfectly. And the country fried steak was so tasty. The fries were on the thicker side, while the chips were thin but both were equally tasty. The onion rings came with a southwest sauce that just blew everyone away. It was horseradishy with a great kick and just was a great dip for any of the sides. Everything is reasonably priced and the portions were a great size. The restaurant itself was very cute and comfortable. They had a lot of local sports team memorabilia on the walls and so we got to learn a little about the community through that! All of the other customers seemed equally happy to be there. The waitress was an absolute sweetheart, just very kind and personable. It was very clear to us that the owners and the employees want to make sure the customers have the best experience there and it just made it really pleasant. Nobody was in the mood for pizza in our group, but it looked really good and I am very interested in trying it the next time we're in the area. We will absolutely be going back to Mama Renie's when we can and truly look forward to it! read more

Small place to eat but the food was good. Older, home-town decorations made it cute and cozy. The staff was super friendly and catered to our list of requests given that we were a party of 6! We went on a Wednesday during the middle of gun week of the hunting season so it was crowded but at least we know it was crowded because the food was worth it! 4/5 stars only because of the small availability of seating. read more

Used to be great place to eat but lately it's inconsistent. If they're out of cheese they use a substitute or different cheese and don't tell you in advance so your food doesn't taste the same.. Not as good. Tonight they totally screwed up our pizza. Ordered pepperoni and onion on all and add bell pepper and bacon to half plus a bacon cheese burger with fries. The pizza came out half pepperoni and onion and half banana pepper and onion... The cheese burger and fries were cold. Don't care if I never go back. I prefer Mullins Full House pizza but others I was with usually preferred mama renies but they said next time they'll go to Mullins. They gave us a whopping $3 discount for screwing up our food. They did offer to make a new one but after waiting 30 minutes plus one of us had a cold cheeseburger to eat.. We just didn't want to wait another 30 to possibly get a better pizza. read more

Got some delivery from these guys a few nights ago. They tell us that we've got about a half hour before we should expect to see it. Ok, sounds good. An hour and fifteen minutes passes, and we've had no word from these guys. Finally, the food shows up, and I ask the delivery boy what the holdup had been. He tells me that A: there had been a delay in putting our ticket into the system, and B: the manager had told him to put other people ahead of us. Ok, now we call the manager and ask what exactly the story had been. First, they insist that our food must have been delivered sooner than we were saying (no, pretty sure I was not holding food 45 minutes earlier than I thought). Then, that we told them what the deliver boy had told us. No, the manager claims that in fact she had told the deliver boy to bring it to us first. Throughout all of this, we get no apology whatsoever or any decent explanation of what had gone wrong. Honestly, it says what you need to know. And in case you're wondering (reader), our food was both pretty cold and commonplace greasy fast food. Which, fine, that's what I ordered, but I didn't think it would take close to an hour and a half to get. read more

Hmm, what a interesting experience. I called for delivery and the girl who answered was so RUDE!!! She ended the conversation with "you'll get your food when you get it"...... never asked how we would be paying. The wait wasn't terrible but the delivery girl showed up expecting us to pay cash(who carries cash?). I told her I was paying with a card and she said she had no service (we were staying in the middle of nowhere in a cabin) so wanted to take a picture of my card. Instead, I had her use the cabin phone and call the store to charge my card. It was just a mess and everything could have been prevented by just having good customer service skills. I'm assuming they only stay in business because of how small the town is and you don't have many options. Anyways, the pizza was actually pretty good. I am a fan. This is a very local spot for me. They offer a nice varied menu of subs, pizza and sandwiches and even some dinner items. My family often has take-out from Mamas and my we love the pizza. Very simple. Thin crisp crust, although it is not my favorite crust, it doesn't have that "bready" tender texture. It is more crunchy and tough (but not in a bad way). But to be honest. I don't eat much of their pizza. The pepperoni (which they absolutely PILE on) is WAY TOO HOT for me. It gives me instant heartburn. And if you have read any reviews from me, I love pizza and will indure heartburn for it. This is just too hot. When I go to Mama Renies, it is for the atmosphere, which is that of a family bar. Nothing fancy. Quiet. Good mixed drinks that won't break the bank. And the turkey subs. OMG. The turkey subs get 5 stars. The pizza only loses a star for the pepperoni becuase I can't eat it. When we go to Mamas as a family, my Dad always gets the pizza and I have a slice with my sub and it is enough with on slice. I am breathing fire. They also make the most delicious homemade chips. Freshly fried and hot when the bring them out. YUMMY! The turkey sub and homemade chips are my favorite thing there. I have it at least once a week and it is CHEAP! My regular order of sub n chips comes to $5.09 for take-out. Another gem they have is the battered, fried portobello mushrooms. Delicious. BOIL IT DOWN-are you a pepperoni lover? Go. Do not pass go. I just ordered out Mama Renie's for the first time, I had heard good some things and decided to give it a try. I got extra cheese, extra pepperoni, and sausage. The toppings were delicious and just right amount of spicy, and it actually looked liked I got the extra toppings I ordered, unlike a lot of places. The crust is amazing and reminds of a pizza I get in Columbus, I'm so happy to have found that crust just 20 minutes away. I cannot recommend this pizza enough, this might be my first from here but it is far from my last. read more

Very nice bar and small restaurant. I was just passing through town after puppy shopping in Albany, OH on Saturday, Dec. 20th, 2014. It was real quiet. I was one of three customers. I had the loaded fries and Philly cheesesteak. They were delicious and hit the spot. I also had a water and a Black and Tan Yeungling. The service was excellent. I only saw one employee. She was a very nice middle aged woman (Mama Renie?). Lunch was just under $15 before tip. I could have gone to a chain restaurant for lunch, but I'm glad I stopped in this place. I may never be back since I live near Dayton, but I totally recommend it. read more
