Unfortunately, I recently had a bad experience with this business. Darien came over to unstop a toilet, which he then accidentally cracked. It was a model that retails for $768. I wasn't home when he came back about a week and a half later (and a week later than he'd said he'd return), so I didn't see until later that he'd installed a model that retails for $268. I'd asked him to get one of those "comfort" models, which he did, but it hadn't occurred to me that he wouldn't replace the broken one with one of equal value. I assumed that as a plumber, he knew the cost of the broken model, one which is pretty common. When I called and told him he should in fairness reimburse me the difference, he became extremely emotional and angry, accusing me of saying he "wasn't a nice guy" and that I thought he'd broken the toilet on purpose; and that I was a "bad person" who was trying to "hurt" him. He went on at such length that I finally interrupted him and asked that he please remain businesslike. I asked if he didn't have insurance, and he replied that he did but was unwilling to file a claim since the amount was over $300. I said, "OK, just reimburse me $300." No! I then said, "OK, just reimburse me $200." No! He yelled that he'd see me in court and that I'd be hearing from his lawyer, which seems to have just been a stall tactic, because that was a month ago, and I haven't heard from any lawyer. (And besides...what on earth would his complaint against me be??? I'm the wronged party.) I see that others have had good experiences with him, but it seems that if something goes wrong, he freaks out and becomes very difficult to deal with. At least that's how it turned out for me. read more
