Don't trust this bank with your money. I had a posted debit transaction…read morethat I didn't make and had no idea where it came from. I asked them to recover my money and they did nothing. I wouldn't bank here if it was the last bank on earth. Stay away!!!!!

It is regrettable to say that after over 20 years I will be closing all accounts with Umpqua Bank…read more They have lost the small town wholesomeness and no longer provide the quality and protection of my funds. Umpqua bank staff have passed the blame to their fraud department and could not fully rectify the problems they created based on their misleading information. My account has been compromised by hacking over a dozen times in the past 20 years of being a customer of Umpqua's. Their fraud department is weak, unfortunately their customer service in caring for their customers after an account hack is even weaker. It should NEVER take nearly 2 weeks + for a bank to refund MY hard earned money during a fraud dispute where clearly I was not in 3 different states at once. It is completely unethical to make a customer go without their funds and jump through hoops to get their income back. Unfortunately I had no choice but to to dissolve my account with Umpqua. I left it open for an additional month to receive deposits until I could merge accounts to a trustworthy and secure bank, I specifically requested that no debits were be taken from my account, after Umpqua assured that it wouldn't allow anything but deposits, this ended up being a lie as I now have multiple debit transactions on my account along with overdraft fees. I went into the Red Bluff CA branch and spoke with Mandy who notified me that ONLY debit card transactions were stopped, not ACH payments. But Umpqua took zero accountability saying that I had spoken to their fraud department not them, so essentially their hands were "clean". I requested that the overdraft fees be removed and the payments that went through were to be stopped as they were not supposed to go through due to the account (per Umpqua) was inactive to debits. They told me they would only correct one of their errors, the other financial burden was on me. When I requested to withdraw the remainder of my funds to deposit into my new bank, Umpqua refused to give me the funds from my checking account in cash. The teller at Umpqua asked me why I was pulling MY money out, then proceeded to ask me what I will be doing with MY money. I find this extremely invasive of my financial privacy as it is no one's business where my money goes. She would not proceed with the transaction until I gave her reasoning that was sufficient to her. This is a violating breech of my privacy and completely unethical of any financial institution to withhold personal funds from the account holder until they feel its acceptable. She then refused to provide my funds in cash and would only provide me with a cashiers check. I am thankful I am just a single mom working several jobs trying to feed my children and not an investor who places trust in Umpqua for my best interest as they have completely failed me as a small consumer.

I have had several loans over the years through Sierra Central and a savings account which I try to…read moresend a check through Bill Pay from my other bank just like I do my loan payments and have not had an issue until this last year. I took out a signature loan to buy a used enclosed trailer and that's where my trouble began. I would make my regular Car payment and my regular signature loan payment with no issues but when I send a payment to myself (savings account) they process the check into my signature loan and every month I have to call them and have them move the money to where it's supposed to go, the savings account. I'm starting to wonder if they even read the account numbers to make sure my money goes to where it's supposed to. Which also leads me to wonder if I can actually trust them with my money. Every month I call to fix the issue and complain and yet the next month I have to do it again. I'm starting to think Sierra Central does not train their employees or they just don't care about their customer base. I have made sure the account numbers are correct I have even put notes on the savings account payment ( NOT A LOAN PMNT DEP TO SAV) and it still ends up going to the loan payment. I will give them 1 more chance to get it right next month and if it happens again they will loose a customer.
