Great restaurant experience! Our server was Jake and he was so nice and welcoming to us! We were only able to try the brunch menu, but we were very happy with our meals. The French toast was not too sweet, which I love, and fluffy. Very filling as well. The sandwich was my favorite; the potatoes were perfectly crispy. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and nice to look at. There are Lots of windows to let the light in. Parking is street parking. It is important to give yourself enough time to find parking near the restaurant. read more

I've never written a bad review but this is the worst experience I've had at a restaurant. We went for our reservation and was told that we could sit at the bar. Not once were we told that the food was behind. Hardly anyone was in the restaurant, yet we sat after ordering food for over 40 minutes. Not even the bread we ordered was brought out. The bartender not once acknowledged that our food was running late or said she would go to check on it for us . After 45 minutes we asked to cancel our order. Our bartender stormed to the kitchen then came back and slammed the check down in front of us and walked away. My husband said I can't believe you didn't even comp a drink after we've waited this long. She responded, "well you drank the two wines didn't you and walked away laughing." We will not be back and we will let our friends know how disappointing we are in a place we used to love for date night. It's one thing to be behind but your lack of service is unacceptable. read more

We are local to Lancaster and wanted to try out this new place, but were hesitant because there have been very mixed reviews on OpenTable. We had an excellent experience the food was delicious, and when we told Simon, our amazing server that we were on a time schedule he was very accommodating and easy to access when needed. He also had the bartender fix some perfect, refreshing mocktails for us to enjoy. We both had the burger, which was cooked perfectly and felt affordable for what we got. I did not initially understand that the restaurant is in fact inside the Marriott, so maybe some mixed reviews are coming from conference attendees. However it does make parking in the Marriott garage easy, or there is valet. We had a good experience andwould return here again. read more

We enjoyed the food. The specials were great although it would've been nice to get more than 3 pieces of tomato toast per order. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. He checked in on us, but the kitchen was a little slow. The 5 of us each had something different from pasta to chicken to hamburgers. Dinner for two tonight for my wife and I was very underwhelming. She had the Coffee& Chipotle Bbq Short Rib. The meat was very tender but bland in flavor. Definitely needed more seasoning. The rice, along with everything else with the dish was very disappointing. I had the Slow Roasted Duck Breast. The Duck was fine. The Wheat Berries served with it were undercooke. It was like eating soft popcorn kernels. Very disappointing mea. The Service was fantastic. Very attentive, and timely. The ambiance was also nice. What a let down for the food though. This used to be a go to when downtown. Apparently ownership or management changed and with it the service, decor and food. Btw, this is pre Covid. Just getting to the review now. As we always did in the past we stopped in for drinks and a app. We tried to sit in the couches as we just like to drink and talk. Well not one server came by. I asked the hostess and they said we had to go to the bar to order. Ok. So I stood there for 5 min while all three bartenders saw me but did nothing to help me. I gave up. As we decided to walk out my friend saw two other friends at the bar. We went over and while talking to them two seats opened up. So ok we have seats. Still took forever for one of them to help us. The one girl had a shirt on so small that she actually was using a stapler to keep it closed. I guess that's what they were focused on. We finally were served sub par drinks and a only so so octopus dish. The bartenders were more focused on having a good time talking to each other then helping guests or cleaning the bar and behind. This review is just for current drinks/bar service. We have eaten dinner here pre-covid and it was fine at that time. However......popped in for drinks prior to heading to The Exchange for dinner. The short female bartender proceeded to display how much she was not enjoying her job. Bartending typically requires some personality and mixology knowledge. None to be found here. I ordered the white sangria which was poured into a glass from a tub below the bar. I understand these drinks are pre-prepped but it was gross. Bartender sucking down her whipped cream Starbucks frappe behind the bar was gross too. Left unimpressed by the service and drinks. Won't be my first choice for a nightcap or predinner drinks unless I'm staying at the Marriott and want convenience only. read more

I'm in Lancaster Pa for work, staying at the beautiful Marriott upstairs. I decided to stop in for dinner last night. The cheeseburger that I had was one of the best I've ever had. I believe it's all local farms that supply the food. Definitely recommend getting it. Buttery soft and delicious. You will not be disappointed. I've been to Plough a couple times at this point but tonight I went for my best friends birthday and could not be more upset or disappointed with both the service and the food! The service was so slow only with a couple tables in fact our food took over 50 minutes to arrive. The server failed to inform the countless items that had been sold out and my friend (the one who's birthday it was) was unable to find a single entree on the menu to accommodate her simple restrictions (pescatarian) so when it was time to order she was thoroughly disappointed. The food when it arrived was cold which was ironic since it took forever to come. While the server was apologetic, there was no change to our service. Overall so disappointed with this outing, especially since it was supposed to be such a special night. read more

The waitress was very nice and the decor was cute! But the place smelled like rotten fish. The bistro steak was ( one skewer of tips) rubbery and came with a large serving of thin frozen fries. Kind of an odd combo for an upscale restaurant. And $28 is a joke. There are no veggie sides to add on or even available. The desert said cake with sorbet but was just a scope of sorbet and two tiny crumbles of a cake. The spoon was bigger then the serving. This restaurant offers incredible food and strong tasty drinks. Stayed at the Marriott Hotel which houses this delight and they were fantastic. Not like many hotel restaurants. We decided to have a few small plates and each one was insanely good. Brussels sprouts, roasted cauliflower and mussels! Stayed overnight in Lancaster City on a Monday and most restaurants were closed. I opted for Plough and was pleased with the service and quality of food. As a hotel guest, they allowed me to take a cocktail to-go, which was great. Food was a bit pricey and there weren't as many options as I had anticipated, but the burger I tried was great. I saw a few 3 stars before we tried this restaurant, many complaining about friendliness and service time. But I liked the look of the menu and decided to form my own opinion. Our waitress was super sweet and friendly. I did notice she had quite a few tables and after we got our orders in, we did see less of her in the very long wait time from our order to when our food actually came out. You know when you're enjoying your wine/drink and you think you don't care about when the food comes and then you hit a point like, "Seriously, what happened to our food order?" I did hit that point and none of the staff seemed to notice. I walked to the bathroom at some point and the kitchen staff seemed to be having a great time, cutting up. We also waited quite some time for our bottle of wine. The hostess apologized for the wait and said she had to retrieve the wine from the cellar. I don't know how that warm red wine was sitting in a cellar...red wine in my house in Texas is much cooler than what that was served, and $110 for the bottle (wine selection is limited and pricey). The food was tasty and the atmosphere was nice. We're tourists so we probably would not have the opportunity to go back to the restaurant anyway; if I was a local, not sure I would. We recently dined at Plough. I was not overly impressed. I think the dining room and bar need to be more separate. We started with the milk bread which was super dense. It didn't have a lot of flavor except the garlic and everything seasoning on top. My husband had the scallops. The scallops tasted a bit over cooked, but were served with a nice risotto. I had the short rib over potatoes. My meal was good, but not remarkable. It also would've been nice to have some vegetables with it. We also had the chocolate cake for dessert which was delicious. We had a gorgeous, perfect meal here last night. Upon walking in, was so impressed by the ambience--what a welcomed upgrade for Lancaster! Everyone from the hostess to our server and runners were so hands on, and delivered outstanding, customer-forward service. We ordered a modest bottle of white that was crispy and delicious paired with the blue crab bisque (divine), crispy brussels (so tasty), and the prime burger. I was presented with two options for my burger order, pink or no pink. Unfamiliar with this binary way of talking about cooking beef, i opted to use the traditional nomenclature instead and asked for medium. She said ok, but I learned later that asking for medium somehow puts you in the "no pink" category. Well, true to the unasked-for label of "no-pink", my burger was burnt to a crisp. Why must we choose between dry-as-dust meat covered in acrylamide and bloody red beef that still has a pulse? And how could they offer such a miserable choice and sell the end result for $15 with a straight face? Anyway, i wasn't pleased and i probably won't be back. But i'm giving them two stars because i did have a nice breakfast there on a prior visit... at least they couldn't mess up an egg sandwich. read more

This was my first time at Plough. It's gorgeous inside and our waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. They're going for unique flavor combinations but some just don't work. My scallops were perfectly cooked but oddly paired with beans that had a pinto in sauce quality. We ordered two different desserts that were completely ruined by an over abundance of salt. They were inedible. Cocktails we're also delicious but extremely overpriced. You can get better handcrafted cocktails at the same price point at Horse Inn. Overall, we were underwhelmed. read more

Tried this new restaurant on Monday, Labor Day. Yay! Happy to find a good restaurant open on Mondays! And yes! It was great! Perhaps because of the holiday it was empty and that may have enhanced our experience. We had personal and quick service. The food was very good. The entrees are not large but we shared appetizers (goat cheese dumplings were a hit) and the food was light and nicely seasoned. Desserts were also great - particularly the maple creme brûlée and the olive oil cake. Seating was very comfortable. Will return. read more
