The staff was super friendly. Everything on the menu is good, like really good. From the salsa to the tortillas, veggies to protein this is good stuff. Kitchen things pretty darn fast. Went to dinner with my mom and she picked the Plaza, in Borger, Texas since I had not ever been there before. We were seated quickly with no wait. Server was quick to take the order. They serve you a good size basket of tortilla chips and salsa, both were good. We ordered the fried mushrooms for our appetizer, which I did not care for they were too big (I believe it was a portobello cut up) very chewy, they looked like they had been overcooked, and a side of guacamole to have with our salsa and chips. Guacamole was very good and seemed fresh and not premade or bought in bulk. My mom ordered a burger and she said it was delish, it was huge and looked pretty good, I ordered three green chili cheese enchiladas that came with a choice of two sides, I chose the house salad and the refried beans. The enchiladas were a decent size and very tasty, house salad was a good portion and was fresh, however the refried beans lacked flavor, and after the first bite decided I wasn't going to eat them. We both drank iced tea and the iced tea was perfect (I'm picky when it comes to iced tea). Our server was attentive with making sure if we needed anything else, and refilling our iced tea. The place was clean and not a lot of noise going on so that made for easy conversation with my mom and not having to talk over other people, it was a nice open space and not over crowded with tables etc. I rated 4 stars for the service, the ambiance and of course some of the food. When I travel out of town I usually pick one place to go and try to eat there as much as possible. Being on the road if u have issues then they usually will take care of u which is good. Food is good the bar area has been remolded since the last time I was here 5 years ago. Been here since April 2019 and leaving Saturday. Service has been 99 percent good BUT the only complaint I have is the shots are to high for my liking. 7.50 for a shot of crown is a little high. Happy hour is good Monday thru Thursday with the 12.00 buckets and 3.50 talls. No happy hours Friday-Sunday though which is not unusual for most places. I think it's the best restaurant in town with the bartenders and waitresses and food. I only eat at the bar area anyway but they are always friendly. They fill the draft till to the top so that should be important to all professional drinkers like myself!! read more

Stopped here on the way to Taos . Nice surprise to find such good food in s small town. Prices were average, food was hot and good. Will come back next trip! Only downside is that where were from you usually get complimentary tortillas and queso so we missed that but we still left with full bellies! read more

I was in Borger Tx to work a turnaround and I noticed the great reviews the Plaza had so I decided to check it out . It was lunch and they were busy , but I was seated right away . Heidi was my server and was very attentive and professional. I had the fried mushrooms as an appetizer. They were the best I've ever had . My entree was steak, shrimp and chicken fajitas. We were staying in Borger for one night on the way to Colorado and we wanted some great Tex-Mex and we got it!! First - the beer Rita was very good!! One of the people in our group had the mango Margarita and loved it too!! The salsa and the queso were very good as well! Then the food... OMG THE Grande Burrito was great!! We had 3 people get it in our group...we all got half queso and half red sauce on the top!! Very good...too big for abnormal human to finish so know you will have leftovers or you should share!! One person in the party had the stacked enchiladas...egg on top was strange but when it arrived and he dove into his plate...the egg went great w the green sauce and enchiladas!! The only question I had was the charro beans...they could use some more seasoning and flavor and why would you take juice out of the beans when you serve them? I've been coming to The Plaza off and on since 1984. You get exactly what you'd expect from north Texas TexMex. Granted, I am spoiled living in Austin (arguably Ground Zero for TexMex), but The Plaza is not as terrible as the gentleman from Connecticut makes it out to be. Highlights: combo fajitas, shrimp enchiladas, light and not overly-oily chips. I do agree the salsa could have more character though. read more

Have eaten here a few times when in Borger. Have two selections of salsa. If you want the hotter you need to ask for it. Food has always been good and served up fairly quick even when busy. Do a great job of bringing the chips and salsa and don't let you get too low on either. Beer is good and cold. Our server last visit was new but still did an outstanding job of taking care of us. This place is a welcome surprise in Borger! Stopped in for a late lunch and we were rewarded with excellent food, cheerful service, and a surprisingly light tab. I had the mini chicken quesadilla and it was the best meskin food I've had in months. Tender moist chicken, just the right portion, and a perfect amount of seasoning. My guest had the taco salad. It was awesome! A pile of lean ground beef in a shaped taco shell. Queso to pour on top, lettuce, tomato, etc. He was beyond pleased. To top it off we had the best service ever from the nicest young lady in all of Borger. DEFINITELY worth a return trip. read more

Solid small town TexMex. I eat there almost every time I am in Borger. Often I am eating with 8 to 20 in my party. The Plaza does a great job with groups and has an amazing verity of menu items. You can't call it a hole-in-the-wall because it is the biggest restaurant in Borger, but it has that local secret feel. read more

We decided to stop here on our way to NM from OK and we are so glad we did! The food is fresh & authentic! The service was excellent & friendly. I had the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and it was spot on & delicious. The rice is very light and not over powered with seasonings and tomato sauce, we really liked it. My husband had the green chile pork & enchilada, the pork was tender and very flavorful. It was very good! This was some of the best Mexican food we've had in a really long time. Passing though Borger and stopped here for lunch. The chips and hot sauce were good and I liked that the lunch specials included a drink. I ordered the fried avocado stuffed with chicken and papas and rice on the side. The potatoes were mashed and I expected fried and the chicken inside of the avocado was cubed not shredded. Just moved to Borger and everyone suggested that we dine here... Mediocre at best. Had a few questions for the server and she answered then as hurriedly and annoyed as she could with out just plain ignoring us. Once our meals arrived 2 of our 4 meals were not what we ordered (different selections completely. Asked the server to return them and being us our original order, literally 20 minutes later the correct items were brought unfortunately​ both times were ice cold, the cheese on the enchilada plate was not even melted. Pretty good Mexican restaurant. There isn't much in the way of food in this area, and this is definitely the popular place for Chevron/P66 employees at lunch time. I'd recommend getting there as close to 11am as you can to avoid waiting. I ordered the Chimichanga which was really good. I liked that all my sauces came on the side.
