I'm very sure that anybody rating this place more than 1 star has based the rating solely on the food and has not have the time to look at the nasty things that workers here do. I have eaten from this place twice, the first one was carry out so, I did not spend any time indoors. The second time (and last) was ~1 hour before closing so, I want to give these guys the benefit of the doubt and think that the manager and cooks were sooooo tired that they could not think straight as to let these things happen: 1- Carefully and very artistically mixing a strand of hair with freshly made mozzarella cheese in my wife's calzone. This can happen anywhere so I am going to let this one slide. 2- Allowing their customers to witness, smell and almost taste the heavenly smell of what could have been Italian floor cleaner. Although they are still serving food, people are eating, they have had a very long day and want to take off as soon as possible so, they decide to mop the floor in advance 3- Here is the stuff that made me avoid this place, none of the cooks or people handling the food wear gloves and to top that off they do not bother to take the aprons off when going to the restroom Although I agree with some people in here that their food has good flavor, I can't ignore how this place is managed. read more

I ordered a Sicilian pie and placed the order at 8:35. I said I'd pickup as not to make them have to deliver. The guy on the phone was kind of short and said 25 minutes before he hung up. I walked in at 9:10 and the guy at register says "Brian?" I said yes and he says "you're late!" Was totally caught off guard as I've never been scolded for picking up takeout a few minutes late. I'm not clear on why there are so many low ratings, resulting in an overall 3. I've been here a few times and I really like it. The chicken, spinach and peppers slice is awesome...and (and I don't say this lightly) one of my lifetime favorites. (Thanks to the Yelp that mentioned it.) So is the chicken and peppers. The sausage slice is solid. One yelper was upset by a spinach slice which slid apart. I agree there is a bit of a construction issue, BUT it's caused by them putting a ton of spinach on the slice! It's got some onions in it, which I don't really care for, but it's a nice change. Some yelps indicate service issues, including the temperament of the staff. I don't know, maybe they've swapped out guys, but they seem fine to me. When I'm going there, it's for a slice, not to make a new friend. Finally, I don't feel the price is as outrageous as a number of yelps mention. It's about $4 for one of their substantial combination slices $3 for a slice with meat, and you probably shouldn't be eating two. ...Maybe I just found the problem!: that they should really offer you the option of a "slice and a half". THAT'S IT! Outrageously, Plaza Pizza doesn't sell you the "One and One-Half"...IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK??? No 1 & 1/2??? That sucks!!! And, just for that, I'm NEVER coming back to this place again! ...at least not until tomorrow. Sometimes you need to review the reviewers. read more

This review is based on two separate delivery orders. The first time we ordered hamburgers and had a coupon. The hamburgers were burned and too dry to eat. So we brought them back and they gave us a hard time saying they were fine. They did eventually make us new ones which were just OK. The second order was for pizza. We also had a coupon for this and it was burned on the bottom. We didn't return it but I don't think we will order pizza from here any more. I used to really like the pizza here but I think the quality has been suffering lately. Additionally, if you use a coupon on a delivery order and pay via credit card, they play games. They charge your card the full amount and then when they deliver your food, they give you cash back for the coupon amount. I don't get this! I have never heard of coupons being handled this way. All that said, the only thing I will probably return for are their calzones. I think they are pretty good. read more

I've been a long time Plaza Pizza fan growing up. This was the go-to place for my family and I whenever my dad wanted to get us pizza for dinner. Not only was the location convenient, but the pizza selections were tasteful. My favorite was the all white cheese pizza and the chicken and broccoli. My brother was in love with their garlic knots and they tasted perfect! The flavors were never too strong or underwhelming. I would highly recommend this little pizza spot when you visit Secaucus right in the town plaza. The only downside was how sometimes the owner/manager would not give the best looks when he would take my order. Maybe that's how he is but other than that, great place. read more

I used to come here a lot, few times a week before I discovered Natoli's, now maybe a few times a month. The pizza is ok here, nothing mind blowing but ok. They have a great mushroom slice and the slices are decent size. It's usually the same variety of slices for lunch, pepperoni, chicken cheesesteak, some white pies, and various veggies. The buffalo chicken pie is not very good, I'd hardly call it buffalo chicken pizza. It's more like chicken chunks with some tabasco on it, no bleu cheese or real flavor to speak of. I've never had anything except pizza here. Again, decent nothing special but certainly better than a pizza hut or dominoes. The guys are friendly enough in there and it's fairly quick. The place is tiny so if you want to sit during the lunch rush you may be SOL. I find it better to come around 1-1:30 that way it's not packed, but the downside to that there aren't a ton of variety of slices left. The parking lot is a disaster, it is the biggest cluster I have ever seen, watching people park in this parking lot is painful. This is one of the main reasons I avoid going to this little strip mall. People in this parking lot forget that we drive on the right hand side of the road, not the left or center. Awful. Anyway, give it a try if you've made it into a parking spot. read more
