This has been my reliable dry cleaner for many years. They clean well, and the clothes are ready on time -- typical turnaround is two business days, but they'll rush it to one business day on request. It's an organic cleaner, so your clothes come back without that PERC smell. The store is compact but well organized, and it also has an alterations area. The lady who runs the store is polite and has worked here for as long as I can remember. Prices have gone up, but they're comparable to other cleaners in the area -- a woman's jacket runs $14 and men's pants $8.70. read more

I have been coming here years. They are the only dry cleaners that can get stains out and your clothes don't stink of horrible chemicals. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend them. read more

Talk about not being honest with the clients. I brought in 3 pieces for which they where going to charge $34. Which is high but I try to support out local business instead of taking my business to another community. Well, I went to pick up the 3 pieces today and to my surprise, the bill was now $42. They said the dress was longer than what they thought and the coat was thicker than they thought. I could not believe it. You would think that the RIGHT thing to do was to call me to see if I still wanted their services. No, of course NOT! This business wants the community to support them but they obviously don't give a HOOT about the customers. Last time I'll ever set foot in Plaza Cleaners. Maybe with another wave of the pandemic, they will go belly up and we can get an honest establishment in their place. read more

Plaza Cleaners - Receipt - Laundry Services Near Me - Thousand Oaks, California

I have a white T-shirt with a blue Dodgers logo across the front. Naturally, when I had a hot dog during a recent game at Dodger Stadium I dropped a huge blob of mustard right smack in the center of the shirt. The stain was very large in size, on a rare T-shirt design. I tried washing it in cold water with OxyClean (cold water to prevent the red letters from bleeding onto the white shirt). I had very little success; the mustard stain lived on. In a fit of desperation I took my shirt to Plaza Cleaners, on Avenida de los Arboles. I picked up my shirt today, with it looking as good as new I have been a loyal, satisfied customer Plaza since I moved to the Conejo Valley, and will continue to be so. Not only does Plaza Cleaners do the job, they do so with a genuine, kind demeanor and a smile. I cannot say enough about my pleasant satisfaction with Plaza Cleaners. I wish Yelp offered more than five stars; if they did I would use them for Plaza Cleaners. read more

I don't use the cleaners myself often but my husband does and has been using them several years. Anyway he asked if i could drop off his shirts to get them cleaned, he had a lot of them. I know when he drops them off he doesn't really pay attention how many he's dropping off and most of them are white and a huge pile. I stayed and counted the shirts as the woman who took them separated them. He works high end retail so most if not all are brand name shirts so they are pricey. I went back to pick them up yesterday and I over heard them talking about the amount owed and initially i didn't realize they were talking about the amount i owed. I paid and before grabbing the shirts I counted them and noticed 1 shirt was missing so I recounted again, picked them up and walked out to the car. I looked at the receipt I had in the car to confirm I was missing a shirt so I walked back in to let her know that there was a shirt missing. She first said... Oh are you sure....l said yes because i had counted them but wanted to check the receipt. She then says oh it could be because it had a stain so they probably still have it in the back and that they would call me. I think it's pretty shady that they wouldn't tell me up front that there was a shirt missing and I had to ask. They wouldn't have said anything had I not pointed out that there was a shirt missing. Makes me wonder if it's happened before and my husband hadn't noticed shirts missing. 12/7/18 I was in the shopping plaza so since they hadn't called and it's been over a week since the shirts were dropped off I figured I might as well stop and ask. I walked in and she got up walked over to where a couple things were hanging and she handed me the shirt that had been missing without saying a word. I walked out with it and realized I hadn't paid for it so I went back in to tell her. She said " don't worry about it, it's fine". I asked again and asked if she was sure. I appreciate the gesture but I would've rather paid and have had a explanation because not only weren't they going to tell me but no one had called to say they had the shirt and it was ready. read more

I called 10 different cleaners in the area after I was in a pinch and needed a jacket cleaned within a short amount of time, and not only did they all turn me down, but some even laughed at the audacity of my request. When I called Plaza Cleaners, they said they would be happy to do it, and they got it done with plenty of time to spare. I really wish other businesses would rise to the customer service level of Plaza. Could not be more grateful! You guys have earned my business for life! Thank you! read more

DO NOT USE! They picked up one of my new suits after wearing it once. When they dropped off the suit I tried it on and not only did it not feel like it was even cleaned the suit had shrunk a good 3 inches. I looked inside the jacket and the pants and you can see that the fibers were all bunched up so I knew they did not dry clean the suit. I called and talked to the owner and she confirmed what I had feared. They did not dry clean it they used a different method without my approval. I told her the suit no longer fits (legs are 2 inches above my ankles, inseam is tight on legs, jacket too tight on shoulders, etc.) and she said the suit looked good to her and it wasn't her problem. Regardless she said that sometimes some fabric need "extra" work after they are cleaned by her method. So she took it back. Once I got the suit back I noticed that it still did not fit correctly but the legs were a better length. I checked and all they did was lengthen the legs which I never approved her to do. I called back and the owner feels the suit is fixed even though it doesn't fit me. I told her the suit was ruined by the (unapproved) cleaning method she used and needed to be replace. She then decided to accuse me of trying to steal from her because she doesn't not believe the suit is how much I paid for it even though I have the receipt. I would not recommend taking any nice cloths to this cleaners as they are not equipped to handle them and are unwilling to make things right when they ruin items. Bad business. read more

Shawna, the owner, is the most amazing, awesome tailor. I started out by bringing my homecoming and prom dresses here when I was in high school. Over the years she has tailored everything for me including jackets, dresses, shirts, designer jeans, and most importantly a $15,000 Monique Lhuillier wedding dress. On top of all the tailoring talent, this is THE ONLY GREEN cleaners that I can find in town. No more nasty chemicals to damage the environment or break down your clothes. Plaza cleaners uses the Miele wet cleaning machines which use no chemicals or solvents to clean the clothes. The detergeants are biodegradeable. My clothes always come out perfect here and the turn around time is prompt. Prices are reasonable and the customer service has always been professional and friendly. read more

I went in to get my dress hemmed. The lady told me $48. I wasn't expecting to pay that much but she explained how the dress is long and has two layers etc., which was understandable. The receipt said the dress would be finished by Tuesday @ 5, so I show up at around 5:45 to pick it up. There was another girl there they told me the dress was not ready and was "probably at home" with the other girl. It was frustrating, but I came back a few days later, and called first (lesson learned). Another girl was there and said that it'll be $60! What?! I told her the original lady told me $48, and she said (as if she was annoyed) that she'd take $50. I'm just annoyed with the inconsistency and the misleading receipt that says the incorrect time in which the clothes "will be ready for pick up". I won't be returning :( Every time I left that place I left feeling annoyed and extremely unsatisfied. read more

Great customer service, always appreciate the warm welcome. The only environmentally friendly cleaners locally that I could find. They are timely and always meticulous about returning my clothing in pristine condition. One time I needed last minute alterations and the owner was kind enough to do them same day. read more

Took three bridesmaids to be hemmed, the quote I received was $35 each for a simple hem. When I came to pick up the dresses they were charging us $180. Almost double the quoted price! And then they said "well it was just an estimate and they called you that the price went up ". No they did not call and were SHOCKED that we were upset about paying the extra money. We ended up paying $50 each because we need the dresses. Long story short read reviews prior because there was almost the same story posted earlier. This place is super unreliable. The work was okay, nothing special read more

If I could leave no stars I would!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS. If you're a local in the area, go to the other cleaners by the Vons side. When I dropped off 3 bridesmaids dresses 2 weeks before I picked them up, a long curly black haired girl quoted me $35 each. A few days later I call the place and speak to the woman who's doing the actual alterations and ask her if she could alter something else on one of the dresses. During this conversation she had not told me of any price difference or extra charge, so I didn't bother to ask. When I go to pick up the dresses, the price rose to $180 for all three. AFTER I WAS QUOTED $35 each. Had the woman I spoke to over the phone tell me that the price was going to be higher, I would have taken those dresses elsewhere and said no. She went on to say that her customers trust her so she didn't bother giving me a price difference. Lady, I don't even know you, so how would you know if I was a new or returning customer. Then she went on to say that there was no way each bridesmaid dress could be $35 each, that was too low. She failed to communicate that with me over the phone. LACK OF COMMUNICATION, MISLEADING, and MISINFORMING!!!! We comprised to pay $50 for each dress [that we're all performed the same job (minus one dress that had an extra alteration that we were okay with paying a little more for)]. POOR SERVICE AND POOR COMMUNICATION SKILLS (OR LACK THERE OF). Stay away from this business!! read more

I just moved back to the area and wanted to find a green dry cleaner nearby. Yelp did not misdirect me. I've only been in a few times but so far I'm impressed! The people that work there are so friendly- on my last visit they took the time to explain to me their cleaning system, and showed me pictures of their trip to Germany where they learned about real green cleaning practices as well as various local articles and letters commending their environmentally friendly practices. Not only is this place green, but our clothes come back spot free and fresh. My mom worked in dry cleaners growing up and was diagnosed with leukemia recently so I take this stuff pretty seriously. If you exercise, eat organic, wear a seat belt... why wouldn't you also avoid putting seriously toxic chemicals on your clothing? It's a small step in self-preservation. I also love that they sold me a garment bag at cost to them to eliminate all that plastic coating the clothes usually come home in. The garment bag even has a slot for the hangars so those can be reused as well. read more

Plaza Cleaners was recommended to me by a friend a few years ago and I've been bringing my clothes here ever since. One problem I always have with cleaners is the horrible smell that lingers on the clothes, Plaza Cleaners does not have that problem. The staff is friendly and my sweaters always come back softer. read more

Plaza Cleaners are great cleaners who care enough not to poison your family or the planet. 1. The clothes DO NOT smell like chemicals or masking perfume, like the rest of the cleaners in the area. 2. Everything comes back CLEAN (including my calamitous wife's wide array of stains and spots). 3. All garments are well pressed, even the fancy little frilly details on my wife's clothes. 4. The clothes appear to suffer no undo wear or loss of color. 5. We used the tailoring services to replace a zipper on a pair of The North Face cargo hiking pants (tricky crotch area), shoulder seam on a very finely tailored Thomas Pink Oxford shirt, and a button reattachment with fly repair on a pair of women's linen pants; all repairs were top notch, undetectable, and reasonably priced. I'm encouraged to use more of Plaza's full tailoring services, given the results so far. The one time I waited in a short line to pick up my garments I used my superior powers of observation to spy on the work space; workers used what looked like a great deal of care on some really cool steaming and pressing machines, while others programmed and loaded the Miele wet cleaning system. I felt good knowing that my family's cleaning isn't slowly killing the people serving us. The business is owned by a pleasant and accommodating Korean family who all recognized me by my third visit and soon after greeted me by name. It is great to know my business is benefiting a nice local family. Plaza Cleaners should be rewarded with your business for being great cleaners, but more importantly, for bravely adopting the best, most efficient cleaning system presently available. It's ridiculous that tetrachloroethylene (the carcinogen and smog contributor in common dry cleaning) won't be outlawed in California until 2023. That chemical smell you bring home from other cleaners is CANCER on a hanger. read more

THEY RUINED MY CLOTHES Not only did they very obviously ruin my clothes but when I brought it to the owners attention she said oh well that happens sometimes and refused to replaced the ruined clothing or even discuss it. They claim the process is not regular dry cleaning and that sometimes the clothing gets ruined- its your risk and trust me its not worth it! worst customer service I have ever experienced. read more

Plaza Cleaners is the best in the area due to the fact that their cleaning process is chemical-free and they are able to clean your clothes and they don't come back smelling like chemicals. They are all very friendly and their green eco bag system is very easy and helpful to keep or clothes organized, plus we are eliminating the use of all that plastic. We return the hangars to them too. Convenient and the price is right on top of that. Go in and talk to Cynthia, she's so super friendly. read more

Avoid this place! Horrible. Brought in shorts with tar stains on them and after quite some time looking at the stains and deliberating, they said they would try to get it out. Went to pick them up and the woman just hung them up without saying a word. I saw that there was still tar all over them. Now, a normal dry cleaner would have said "hey, we tried, we weren't able to do anything, so no charge." I was floored when she asked me to pay for "trying". Are you kidding me? If you claim to be a professional in dry cleaning, act like one and own up to the fact that you misjudged the situation. Never going here again. read more

We purchased 2 vintage (30 years old) kimonos on Etsy, shipped from Japan to give to friends for Christmas. The kimonos arrived cleaned (except a small stain inside one) and pressed for gifting, but had a strong storage smell. I was happy to find this "non--chemical" cleaner. I called to asked the price of cleaning 2 kimono robes to get the smell out, one hip length, one knee length, and was told it would be $17 for them. When my husband dropped them off he specifically asked if they would be getting the smell out, and pointed out the stain. The response was, no problem with getting the smell out, but no guarantee about removing the stain, as it was old. Agreed. When he picked them up, the stain was half gone (ok). The robes were 'fragranced' (is that really non-chemical?). We hung them in our laundry room to air out the fragrance. Next day, the fragrance was gone and the vintage smell was just as strong as before cleaning. Also, when he picked them up, the charge was $27, not $17. I returned to Plaza and explained this to the staff just after New Years, but was told the boss was not there and would call me the next business day. No call. I called her 3 weeks later, and she said that they never tell anyone they can get such smells out, and they charge $13 for short robes and $17 for knee lengths. She offered a 10% discount for the problem. Bottom line, we were lied to and feel cheated. read more

I called several cleaners around town and they all said they couldn't clean my Select Comfort mattress topper, but the lady at Plaza said she could for clean it for $42. Considering replacement of this mattress topper is $500, I figured why not try to clean it. Plaza told me that the machine might damage the liner, which is fragile, but it was. It damaged at all. I did have to sign a release beforehand. My only complaint was the perfume fragrance upon unwrapping the topper. -much too strong for me. I am airing it out before putting back in bed. I have been coming here exclusively for the past two years. They are the only green cleaner in town. This cleaner actually won an award from the State of California for the advanced cleaning methods and were featured in a training film done be a UCLA professor to teach other cleaners how to switch over to non-toxic cleaning methods. The chemicals the regular cleaners use "Perc" is extermly nasty and will soak through concrete in four hours and contaminate the ground water and are unsafe for humans as well. I love the idea of a better alternative to dry cleaning! Plaza Cleaners is a pioneer of wet cleaning in this area and I'm lucky to have them so close by. I didn't realize that traditional dry cleaning uses pretty harmful chemicals to clean. It's not good for the environment and I can't imagine it's good for my skin longterm. Everything comes out looking great, and except for a few items like finely tailored suits, most everything can be wet cleaned. I am a huge fan! Highly recommend this family owned business. read more

An unfortunate incident at this cleaners that would have been eased if the brunette sales clerk (who would not give her name) simply said "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, let me talk to my manager and see what we could do for you". This misunderstanding was over some clothes being dry cleaned unbeknownst to me instead of laundered and the choice of two types of discounts. This young woman's attitude was that of "we don't need your business" which is exactly what she said and some other choice phrases. Well, I've worked in the customer service industry and had this woman worked for me, I would dismiss her. She needs to be made aware that she is the face of whatever company she works for and work with an attitude that the customer is always right (even if she thinks they are not). Learn how diffuse angry customers. Always remember that one customer has many friends and that's business lost. read more
