Absolutely loved this restaurant! I had a friend mention she drives here all the way from the North Hills, now I know why. We were seating outside right away. All the staff was very good about following all COVID-19 restrictions. In general our server was very attentive too. We started with the table side guacamole, which came out very quickly to be made for us. And the server even waited for us to try the guacamole in case we wanted more of any ingredients, but it was very good as is. For dinner I had the burrito pastor and added on a chili relleno. The chili relleno was made it the traditional sense, filled with cheese and deep fried in an egg batter, and tasted delicious. The burrito pastor was massive. It had great flavor and I loved the sweet and savory aspect of it. In fact I would ask for extra pineapple next time. Whatever you get here you will not go hungry! read more

A very good Mexican restaurant in Washington, Pa. Always clean inside, a friendly wait staff. As always a nice menu selection to pick from. I started off with the Queso Fundido, a delicious appetizer of Queso cheese and Chorizo sausage. It comes with house made tortilla chips for dipping, or just dig in with a spoon. For the main dish, the Arleta Burrito. So good, a flour tortilla, filled with rice, refried beans, grilled onions, and tender steak. Topped with a cheese sauce, enchilada sauce, crema, and pico de gallo. All works together well, especially all the sauces on top which makes me happy, being a sauce king. This place is huge inside!! I liked the bar, roomy and open. I decided on a combo which was a chicken enchilada with a tomatillo sauce, a crunchy beef taco and a chili relleno. I enjoyed my Meal but it didn't wow me. The beans were good and I liked the salsa but the rest didn't have enough flavor. The staff was nice and you get a fix but I would just say it is average. I refused to even try this location for over a year, because the one in Robinson was so bad. Boy, do I regret that!!! This place is incredible. The service is top notch, the food comes out piping hot and exactly as ordered, and drinks are never left empty. The restaurant itself also has a cool atmosphere and it's so clean in there! Worst place ever. They don't know how to manage expectations for being seated. I had my 85 year old Aunt with me. We were told 60 minutes. After 2 hours the host told me he'd get us seated in 20 minutes. Then when he didn't he said do f'n leave. Worst place ever. We will never go back and will tell everyone we know not to. read more

Every time I have gone to thus restaurant they have never disappointed me. I had requested a alcoholic drink that the waiter didn't understand, so he asked someone else, and the manager ended up making my drink. Another time , I went in and just purchased some chips and salsa. It was taking a little longer than thought, but the manager and staff were on it and took care of me. GIVE IT A TRY!!!! I wasn't sold on the location of the look of this place from the outside - but boy oh boy was I wrong! Your mind will be changed the second you enter the door. It is decorated and renovated beautifully, the service is so friendly and quick, and the food is DELICIOUS! My boyfriend consistently orders the fajitas (any of the meats he recommends) and I love their queso dip and nachos. Margaritas are always a must at a Mexican restaurant and they do not disappoint ! We've never had to wait for a table and feel the prices are more than reasonable for the amount of food you get and the quality !!! read more

Finally ate here for Cinco De Mayo. It's a large clean place with your typical family friendly Mexican food. Nothing to adventurous as it would scare the yokels. 3 to 4 stars. I'd eat here again. I had a light tasting marinated sushi tuna, avocado and pineapple appetizer on a tostado. I had a beef, chicken and pineapple build your own stir fry tacos which was good and tender and served in a pineapple. They don't use a lot of seasoning, just the flavor of the meat. Then I had the Xango which was fried banana cheesecake in cinnamon and sugar with chocolate, caramel and ice cream. DELICIOUS! read more

I went here for lunch the other day with my family and I was really impressed. First I did not expect how pretty the restaurant was on the inside. I ordered the quesadilla al pastor and it was delicious. The chicken was marinated in almost a smoky sauce. It was tasty I definitely recommend it! Also the rice was so good it was seasoned perfectly as well. The food came out fairly quickly and the service was super friendly. All the staff followed Covid19 precautions by wearing masks and distancing tables. I also got the house margarita and it was perfect! Stopped here with family on a road trip. Ordered several vegan dishes to go, including the burrito vegano, tacos chorizo vegano, vegan bowl, and vegan tacos. All had large portion sizes and a great balance of rice, beans, veggies, and soy meat. The soy meat was spiced really well and had a very realistic texture. One small issue was that the tacos chorizo vegano didn't come with anything but the soy meat, when it was supposed to also have diced potatoes, vegan cheese, avocado sauce, and avocado. We did receive an extra container of rice and beans and chips and salsa though. I'm not sure if it was intended to make up for the missing ingredients. Either way, it was all still delicious. Just confused about what happened there, but not upset because there was plenty to go around. Wish there were more of these places - am sad there are none closer to us! read more

We like this place. During Covid we had accidentally left a credit card on the table and the hostess stole it. Luckily we challenged with our credit card and were refunded. Even more luckily, the hostess "disappeared " after we complained to the owner. Although the mngr. challenged us on our claim the owner was very apologetic. some time of taking a hiatus from this place and going to El Paso and old mexico, we realized that the food quality simply did NOT compare. Plaza Azteca has the best food. The other places gave me headaches from msg. And the staff couldn't understand most of what we said (spoke broken English) Plaza azteca doesn't seem to use msg and their food is not as processed. The salsa is really good (finally stopped tasting like spaghetti sauce -they seemed to add oregano at one point but no longer) and the workers are super friendly. We loved that we were seated at a Covid-conscious table apart from the rest. The whole restaurant smelled strongly of cleaning solution, which was also Covid-comforting. But both the salsa and the cheese dip and the chips were just OK. A side of guac for our tacos took TOO long to make it worth the extra charge. The shrimp tacos had TOO much cheese melted into them, I ended up just picking out the shrimp with a fork - shrimp that could have used some grill action if I'm honest. The side rice and black beans were really good. My dining companion raved about the sides too, as well as his octopus tacos. Overall, wish we would have made a different choice among the many restaurants all in proximity to each other. For Mexican, we will stick with Acapulcos or On The Border from now on. read more
