We love Plaza Azteca! They're always busy and the lot is full, but there usually isn't much of a wait to be seated. They have a very extensive menu that's the most authentic I've had in the area. They also have so many unique margaritas; I've tried a few different ones and haven't had a bad one yet! The staff is friendly and attentive, and we love how family-friendly it is, too!

Great food! The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is the price. $20 for one take out meal. One upside is they did provide chips and a small salsa.

Plaza Azteca is a Mexican-American restaurant chain that has locations across several states. (I had not previously heard of it and had incorrectly assumed that it was a locally owned restaurant.) This particular Plaza Azteca is located at Trinity Point Shopping Center. Please see my attached photos for the menu in January 2024. My husband and I decided to eat lunch here. A seating host immediately seated us at a clean and comfortable booth. Soon, our friendly waiter arrived, gave us menus, and took our order for foods and drinks. At the end of the meal, the waiter promptly gave us a correct bill and thanked us. Here are my husband's and my reviews for our foods: Fresh table-side guacamole - 5 stars - An employee pulled a cart up to our table and made fresh guacamole for us. The guacamole contained avocados, jalapeños, onions, limes, salt, cilantro, and no tomatoes at my husband's request. The guacamole had the perfect level of spiciness and flavor for us, and it complemented the tortilla chips and salsa well. Quesadilla Al Pastor - 5 stars - One large quesadilla was filled with pastor chicken (pork was also an option), chihuahua cheese, pineapple chunks, and onions. I really enjoyed the flavors of this quesadilla. On the side were lettuce and fluffy rice. Mixed fajita - 4.5 stars - My husband's fajita came out on a sizzling skillet and was a large size. He filled his flour tortillas with steak, chicken, bell peppers, onions, pico de gallo, and sour cream. He commented that he really enjoyed the marinated steak but that he wanted his chicken to be slices rather than round chunks. On the side were flavorful rice and beans. The total price for this food plus one tea beverage was $60 plus a tip.

I love the ambiance here. Lots of colors that pop out at you. The place is huge. The servers are super friendly. I wish there was a menu with specials on it. I wish I could customize different tacos with different meat. Overall it was pretty standard Mexican fair. I do love a margarita flight. There's a private parking lot!

I returned to this location after being disappointed when they first opened. With all the kninks potentially worked out tweaking of service, food and menu - maybe they are better. The server we got was nice however he did not fully comprehend our basic requests for soda, water and such. A lady server by the name of Shay, saw that her coworker was having trouble and came by to help with translation. After several attempts, we got our order in. Moharra Frita (fried fish) and beef enchiladas were ordered. Food tasted fine and better than I last remembered it. Fish was cooked right but did have a vinegar aftertaste that was not too desirable. The enchiladas were average, beef being on the drier side with minimal sauce topped on it. At the end, I received the check and noticed almost an extra $4 tacked on for a small topping of onikns and cilantro. I wanted to inquire about the extra charges and this time I saw Shay sitting at the table next to me prepping utensils. I asked her if we could revisit the check and why the server did not inform us of the extra cost and how much when we asked for it. She said said she would have to call a manager. Two minutes later, she is back and says she cannot locate the manager and she cannot do anything further. Then she goes on to throw a fit about how she is not getting paid to service our table and she was not even supposed to be there. The manager finally shows up and I explain to David about the unacceptable service. At the end, he took a few dollars off my check and apologized and said he will set her straight. I regretted giving this place that second try.

Chicken Fajita Burrito. Excellent.

Definitely the best place to eat in Washington PA if you love Mexican food. They have great lunchtime specials as well. We were seated as soon as we walked in. Our servers were kind attentive. The whole place was very clean and the decor is very bright and colorful. We look forward to eating here every time we are near. I had the Philly steak burrito and added shrimp which was phenomenal and my wife had the chicken fajita burrito which was also excellent. Enjoy.

Our experience was so-so. My order was not accurate and the waiter did not return to check on us. I just ate what I got. The building decor is nice and the air conditioning is fantastic. I don't anticipate a return visit.

We took advantage of the "drink samples" which was a personal experience with the owner, where we tried each and every drink they made in house.. this was free, and a great start to our dinner. Everything from appetizers to desserts was fantastic. High quality food made with compassion. The ambiance was a little wild, very dark.. interesting taste in decor (haha) but very classy, nonetheless. Portions were generous and the price was too. We would definitely return for one of their weekday burger nights!

For dinner for my husband and me, I made a reservation through OpenTable. The seating hostess and the waitress served us promptly and politely. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Chef's Cheese Board - 4.5 stars - This appetizer contained two cheeses, two cured meats, bread, and jelly. Prince Edward Island Mussels - 4.5 stars - This entree was a special. A large bowl of mussels was covered in Thai coconut red curry sauce, lime, mint, basil, and cilantro. On the side was a grilled baguette and garlic potatoes. Duck - 4 stars - The duck breast was cooked well, but my husband would have preferred a larger serving size. The waitress said that it was covered in a blueberry sauce, but it tasted like BBQ to us. After eating this entree, my husband still felt hungry. On the side were asparagus and risotto that had an OK flavor. Creme brûlée - 4.5 stars - This creme brûlée was topped with strawberries. Some liquid also sat on top, but the sugar was appropriately hard. Armen's Barrels Blackberry Sangria - 5 stars - This sangria was made from Armen's Barrels Concord wine, and it tasted delicious. The total price for our meal was $123 plus a tip. Customers may book private events at the restaurant. Customers may also book tours of the production facility to see the equipment and the process of making wines, vodkas, and brandies.

Bistecca Wedge Salad - 4.5 stars - Roughly half of a head of lettuce was topped with smoked bacon, onions, bleu cheese, and gorgonzola crumble. (No tomatoes at my husband's request.) Salmon Oscar - 4.5 stars - Atlantic salmon was grilled and topped with flavorful colossal lump crab, asparagus, and hollandaise. Filet mignon - 5 stars - My husband ordered a 10-ounce filet mignon, and the chef cooked it medium-rare as requested. On the side was béarnaise sauce. My husband enjoyed this steak very much. New York Cheese Cake - 4.5 stars - The slice of this cake was a good size. It had a nice cheesy flavor, and we liked its graham crust, strawberry sauce, and sweet whipped cream. We drank water and did not order beverages. The total cost for this meal was $171 plus a tip.

Our table had two servers assigned to us, which was interesting. I'll be honest, I was skeptical of the prices and that I would leave hungry, but I was proven wrong! I was extremely full, and we went during happy hour so we got one of those deals! Split between 3 people, the bill was pretty reasonable! We each got a personalized wine flight. I got a rosé, Riesling, and Pinot Grigio - the rosé was my fav! Everything else we ordered: -Whipped Sheep's cheese w/ truffle honey + chips -Jamón & Manchego Croquetas (happy hour deal) -Patatas Bravas (happy hour deal) -Mussels + homemade sausage -Albondigas aka spiced meatballs (happy hour deal) -Bacon wrapped dates -Potato tortilla -Spiced beef empanadas -Espresso martini -Chocolate cake Overall I really enjoyed everything! Hard to pick a favorite, but I'd say my least favorite thing was the bacon-wrapped dates (I just don't eat dates very much). I was a little disappointed in the size of the empanadas, I'm used to eating bigger ones from other restaurants, but they were still very tasty! The food came out fast and was super fresh! Our main server Becca was funny, relatable, and really made this such a fun experience! She also treated us to the sangria chug (not sure if that's the official name but that's what I'm calling it lol). We were warmly greeted by Todd and Gina, the owners, who couldn't have been friendlier. Todd told us all about their wines, including the awards they've won, especially in California, and generously offered us the chance to try any of the wines at no cost. We started with the Gruner Veltliner, a bright, citrusy, and crisp wine. It was extremely dry compared to other Gruners we've had, which are usually more fruit-forward, but it was still quite enjoyable. Next, we tried the Riesling, which was also very good. My wife moved over to the semi-sweet side and tried the Traminette, which I eventually sampled after trying all the dry wines. We both really liked it. I then tried the Cabernet Franc, which was a medium-bodied wine with notes of raspberry, blueberry, and a light mocha oakiness--delicious! The Chambourcin was also quite good, without the typical bite or tartness. Lastly, the Flagship Red, a classic Bordeaux-style dry red, had a pleasant hint of pepper and was definitely a standout. Todd shared that they exclusively offer wines from Stony Run Vineyards in Breinigsville, PA, which has a wide selection. They're also planning to offer Old Fashioneds soon, as their winery includes a distillery, and they'll be featuring a "drink of the week" as well. What really sets this place apart, though, is Todd and Gina themselves. They're genuinely kind people who are dedicated to the community, and it was heartwarming to learn that they both served in the US Military--Todd in the Navy and Gina in the Air Force. We're already looking forward to our next visit when we're in the area again. Don't forget to thank them for their service when you stop by!
