Absolutely awful. Ordered from uber eats and it took forever to arrive so I'll let it slide that the food was all the way cold. We ordered a melon agua Fresca and got something completely different. Ordered tacos al pastor and rib eye tacos. Al pastor was.... Ok. No limes provided. Ribeye tacos, the meat was way overcooked. Everything lacked flavor and was packaged messy, leaking out of the containers. Beans, disgusting. Rice, ok. Guacamole, flavorless. Queso tasted like ranch. Wishing I ordered Taco Bell instead. This is our go to Mexican place in Suffolk. We've eaten inside a few times and have done carry out quite a few times. We typically enjoy the food, my husband always gets the California burrito and I like to get different things to try most of the time. This time I tried the beef empanadas. They were good but I think I would have liked the chicken ones better, and because we did a carry out order the empanadas were a little soggy from sitting with the guacamole. When we have eaten at the restaurant, the service is always good and really fast. We really like the chips and salsa and my husband is a big fan of the white sauce. The only issue we have had is when ordering online. It seems that they do not have all of their actual menu items on the online ordering menu. Tea, beer, or a cocktail will do. And yes, tea get free refills. I've been going here for a long time. It is your average Mexican restaurant. Fast service, large portions, decent prices, good selection....and fast service. So after years of dining, why this sudden review? Because this week they served the best ceviche de camaron. Airy inside... plenty of parking. My husbae and I dined here for an early lunch during the week. We sat in a booth and our server immediately greeted our table and within a minute we were already dipping chips into the salsa. The salsa has little bite, pepper flakes maybe... it was tasty. I ordered the chicken lunch fajitas and a bed of lettuce and shredded cheese. The beans, guac, sour cream... save it, call me simple, but I like to keep it simple. The service was on point and fast. My parents wanted something to eat and I was scared to bring them here since they are from California and have never left the state to have Mexican food anywhere else. This is cinco de mayo btw. 05/05/2025. Walked in with a coworker to the bar and was greeted. A gentleman sitting next to us asked why he wasn't greeted and helped, without hesitation she looks at him and says, "I'm not your server". We order a few shots and beer, place an order for food, then proceed to order more shots for my coworker and me. Why did we get poured half a shot? Small little red shot cup and its half full. We ask another bartender, younger white male, to make it right and he did. Then we order another shot and again its half poured. We flag down a different bartender this time, a heavier set Hispanic male, to let them know we got poured half a shot twice. WHY DID THIS MAN LOOK ME DEAD IN MY FACE AND SAY, "THAT'S A SHOT". Then he tries to prove it to us by pouring it in the metal shot measurer. WHAT WAS THE RESULT? HALF SHOTS LOL!!! Spending money on Patron shots and getting jipped then proving a bartender wrong LOL!!! After that we left. Hands down the WORST Plaza Azteca to get drinks from in the 757. Came for dinner and was just in time to snag a happy hour strawberry margarita, it was delicious and refreshing. The consistency was perfectly smooth and the ice wasn't chunky. I ordered the carne asada tacos which came with 3 and a side of rice and black beans. My hubs ordered the Philly cheesesteak burrito which was delicious also, new on the menu they have elote corn which was sooo good. I haven't had anything here I didn't like. Nice restaurant with fairly good Mexican cuisine. Their menu has the normal hitters- quesadillas, fajitas, burritos, etc.- all served on a large plate with plenty of food. If you're worried about leaving hungry, don't be! During my visit, I had the lunch fajitas. They came out sizzling hot and were delicious. My coworker had a taco lunch special which, though a bit cold, was still tasty. The chips and salsa were great. We also ordered the guacamole which was fantastic! The waiter was not very attentive and we needed to ask for drink refills, but other than that, we had a great experience. A few bonuses for Plaza Azteca is that they can handle large groups fairly easily, they have some good happy hour/holiday specials, and they are easy to navigate to. read more

I decided to go support since I haven't been here since March 2020 and get a rake out order (I'm nit eating inside anywhere). I think they are doing a good job keeping everyone seated at a good distance and all staff had maskand protected wear on. My only concern was the group of people gathered at the door, appeared to be a sperate group of customer who were leaving who knew each other however they were right at the door so I had to go pass that large group laughing and joking to get to my to go order. I don't blame that on the restaurant just inconsiderate patrons. My food was good I had to keep a star due to the skimpy amount of white sauce I received. I usually don't leave reviews but this experience warranted a review. My wife and I ordered the Birria Tacos and let me just say they tasted like a bad pot roast. The beef broth had no flavor at all. Not sure who left with the recipe but they need to be rehired. I DON'T RECOMMEND ORDERING THE BIRRIA TACOS. El Korita at this point is the better option for Authentic Hispanic Food. read more

I have been here three times and enjoy the food here constantly, but there were just a few things that I didn't like. The first two times here were excellent. The waiters were different each time, but alike in terms of that they were really friendly and fast. The third time was not a charm. Why? Well, I don't enjoy the sight of a mosquito flying around my booth or food. I get the weather is getting warmer and there are no controls for bugs around this general area, but it is still was unnecessary to have it fly throughout a place you dine at. My waiter this time was a total douche on top of that. I think it might have been just because I asked if he doesn't trust me after carding me for ordering a daiquiri. Since then, the entire time dining was horrible. He hardly checked on us. We waited and had to call for his attention to get our check. He obviously didn't seem to mind taking care of the group of four by us who spoke Spanish. Instead of running our check/credit card, he told us that we could have gone up to the counter and pay for it there. He should have told us that instead of having making us wait for him to turn around after giving us a check. My party of three would have been happy to just do so. The manager asked my husband (after he went to the counter to pay for the check) how everything was and my husband said everything was good. What a liar. Can't believe I paid $70 for my order. My wife's taco salad came with chili peppers in it which was not in the description and she could not even eat it! and she likes peppers and there was no sour cream and no lettuce salsa the stuff that normally comes on a taco salad. asked for no refried beans and got refried beans and also no cheese! my wife can't eat it and now she's making something to eat after I just paid for that. very frustrating. There tortilla chips were so nasty and greasy they tasted like they came from the bottom of a barrel made 5 days ago. Mine was a chicken fajita and I ordered extra cheese and didn't even get that but got charged for it and got no cheese. I mean really I ordered and paid for extra cheese and got no cheese. Ordered a kids meal of a mini pizza and french fries and their french fries taste so bad that my son wouldn't even eat them. maybe it's something with the grease fryer I think and his pizza was actually one of those little mini microwave pizzas can't believe I paid $9 for that. read more

This is definitely not our first stop here. For a quick lunch we know the food here to be of a consistent quality. Today I tried something new and had the chicken fajita quesadilla. The grilled chicken was quite good and the onions in it were tender and flavorful. There was not enough cheese to really call this a quesadilla. It was more of a tortilla sammie. Hubby had his usual of the beef chimichanga which is, in my opinion, horribly overpriced for the amount of food that you get. The salsa here is always decent though the white sauce, whatever that stuff is, is disgusting. Don't really care for that anywhere. The staff are always nice albeit less attentive than I would like. My drink usually sits empty for a few minutes before anyone notices. The only truly remarkable thing about this restaurant is the table side guacamole. I LOVE guacamole so it's always on my "must-try" list anywhere that offers it. Theirs is pretty darn good. Nice place to grab a lunch with some friends, kinda pricey for a family lunch. I just got done eating the lunch I had delivered by DoorDash from here. First of all, I ordered a lunch special which gave me an option to have rice or beans and I selected beans. I ordered beans to feed my one year old. I added a note saying "no cheese on tacos", the combo came with 1 quesadilla and 2 tacos. I also ordered the nachos supreme. When our food arrived, there were no beans anywhere and my tacos had no cheese (which I requested) but my quesadilla also had no cheese. It was basically just a soft taco with chicken. The chips in the nachos were in pieces and barely had any whole chips in it. I called the restaurant and told them how my order was incorrect. The man I spoke to told me the lunch special doesn't come with rice and beans and it's "something with DoorDash" and they can't do anything about it. I told him about the quesadilla and the man says he needs to find someone who speaks English... so I wait and another man answers. I tell him the same thing I told the other man, and he told me "I can't talk to you if you're acting like this" and he hung up on me. Never in my life had I had a business hand up on me if I had an issue. I was not being rude and was notifying Plaza Azteca of my erroneous order. Needless to say, I will never be eating here again. read more
