This was my first time visiting this restaurant. My babe has been several times and prefers this place over other Mexican Restaurants. So I said, well, let me seeeee!! We dined here for Taco Tuesday last week and it wasn't busy at all around 5pm. Our waitress was attentive and did not miss a beat. I cannot recall her name, but she was easy on the eyes and did not need a pen or pad for our order. I opted to try the lime margarita with Cazadores tequila since that's the name of the restaurant. Our drinks and food arrived in record time. We were in and out in about 30 minutes. The food was fresh and my soft chicken tacos (3) were fulfilling. My lime margarita was pretty tasty too. I prefer it on the rocks. My babe had the burrito and it was huge. I think he was only able to finish half of it. This place has plenty of parking and does offer outdoor seating as well. had a dinner, with my partner. We were traveling. We were met at the door with a hello and seated immediately into a booth. The wait staff came by quickly and requested are orders, when we were not ready, she gave us plenty of time. Dinner came out quickly after we ordered, I had shrimp with rice, beans, I asked for no cheese and corn tortillas. everything was hot and great, and to order. My partner had a chicken, dish, with rice and beans sides. she said the beans were a bit plain flavored, but we both agreed at least they did not have various oils in the beans. the ambiance was nice, some Spanish music played but it was not too loud. we were checked on several times and anything needed was given in a timely manner. check out was easy - we paid via card and left a tip in cash on the table. If you want to enjoy ok food with no more than 3 friends on one check, this place is for you. Every time I go here with a large group, they never know who has what and "auction" the food off at the table, same when it comes to checks. Once, after paying my check and leaving a very good tip, my server chased me down and started yelling at me about not paying for fish tacos that no one in our group even ordered. I've caught them putting cheap liquor in my drinks when I asked for top-shelf liquor. I've also been talked to very rudely when I pointed out they charged for too many drinks. All of this has all been separated times. I tried to let this go, but it's always something. Just go to Plaza Azteca. The food is more flavorful anyway read more

Came to visit and tried this place.... I had the California burrito and I didn't read what was in it, my mistake.... it just comes with beef, onions, rice and beans. This was only my second time visiting this restaurant, but I'd definitely go back. Their tamales are delicious (I forgot to take a photo). I got a combination meal with enchilada and a taco...it didn't disappoint. The rice was only thing lacking. It didn't have as much flavor as some other places. Conveniently located in Suffolk near the park and baseball/soccer fields. Seated very quickly for a 1pm Saturday lunch. Several standard options on the menu. Lunch menu only available weekdays. We ordered our food and it came out in less than 10 minutes - super speedy. Food was flavorful, however, I didn't like how the meat looked and tasted steamed. I needed that extra heat kick so I requested their house hot sauce - wow, their version's heat snuck up on you but was a great compliment to our dishes and chips & salsa. I wish the server was a little more attentive as it took 10 minutes to wave down his attention and get extra napkins, drink refills and the hot sauce. My husband and I have ordered take out here multiple times and it has always been so good. It has kept us coming back. However; tonight, I was very disappointed with the meal I received. I ordered Pollo Caribeno, as I have many times, and it did not have the Ham, pineapple, or cheese dip included. These are a huge part of what makes the dish so appealing. My daughter in law decided to sneak away the other night and try Cazadores. Always looking for a New Mexican food place. It smelled amazing, the ambience was great, everyone in the seemed happy and laughing. Very kid friendly- so one star for that. The menu has a good selection and prices are pretty great. They have a good selection of Combination dinners for only $9.99 - another star for that. The salsa and warm chips were also good - yet another star. Unfortunately that's where it ended ... our waitress was great- very cordial, sweet. Took our order quickly and when my daughter in law asked if they had California fries (it's not on the menu) - she said yes they did. I also ordered those to go for my son. Once our food got there I was a little shocked. My daughter in laws "California fries" were on a huge plate with 15 fries (yes we counted- one layer of fries ) covered with runny white "cheese" and some diced up steak. No lettuce, salsa, avocado, nothing, fries, "cheese" and some meat - which- part was completely raw. I immediately went up front to cancel the TO -GO order of California fries because I knew that was not going to fly for my son. California fries are called "California " because of the fresh veggies on it. This had NOT ONE. And such a small amount. We called the waitress over and showed her the raw meat , she said she would replace them and we asked for them to go. I was already done with my mediocre meal. Which for $9.99 I can't complain much. I had the plate with a chicken tostada , a beef enchilada and a taco with rice. I ate the enchilada which had a not so great sauce and was barely warm. That was enough for me. The owner came over and apologized - he said they just started making the "California fries" because people have asked for them- he was very polite- I appreciated that. I didn't have the heart to tell him "California fries" MOST DEFINITELY come with lettuce etc. hopefully he figures out that charging 10$ for 15 fries , runny cheese sauce and a little meat isn't going to work. Once we got home - my daughter rechecked her to go fries and the only thing different was they doubled the amount of meat. Still a half handful of fries, still runny "cheese". Being from San Antonio and having enjoyed TexMex food most of my life makes it very difficult for me to review Mexican food. What I can say is the staff are friendly, prompt, and attentive. The food arrived fresh and hot. I had the lunch special #3 Enchilada, Taco, Rice, & Beans. Basic, but good. Hubby had the Fajita Taco Salad. The chicken is well seasoned, the salad/chip bowl maintained its integrity, was light and crispy, and actually good eating too. The salsa that came to the table at the beginning was delicious and difficult to stop eating. That taco salad he had leaves me curious about their other fajita dishes. So first time eating at this place. I have had loads of Mexican food since I have lived in Mexico for some time. Was recommended by a local so decided to try it. Well this is how it goes. Schools and salas is okay why they give you ranch is beyond me. No need for that. If it was a creamy jalapeño ranch dip possibly. I ordered a mechalada which consisted of model Clamato and some seasoned salted rim. Well not the worst I have had but they used a bottle beer when they have it on draft. I ordered the guacamole which was bland to say the least. Well my meal came out looked great. I had the chille relleno burrito and rice and beans. Rice and beans was delicious. The rest was covered in this dark red sauce that was absolutely the most saltiest thing I have ever had other thana salt lick. Not sure how to rate this place as a few items were great but overall not good. read more

Ate here a couple weeks ago, food was good! I got the Cazadores special which was delicious. Obviously free chips and salsa once you sit down. Salsa is great, I don't like the white sauce (ranch I think it is?) server was amazing. Only downside was the windows had no blinds or anything to block the sun so it was very in your face. They did offer to move us to a new table which was nice. Will be back! read more

Budget friendly price and very good food. The service was lacking and pushy. They offered me more chips and proceeded to charge me $4 for salsa, $4 for white sauce, and $4 for the chips, for a total of $12 dollars. Under the assumption that the complementary chips were unlimited, they proceeded to charge me after a certain amount, and inform me after the fact instead of before. The 1 basket of chips was more than the meal I ordered. Manager was not the friendliest. Environment was clean, well kept and satisfactory. read more

This place is one of the only Mexican spots in Suffolk with good food. They have amazing beans and rice and their horchata is amazing. I'm used to corn tortillas and they use flour which has a totally different taste but i still find it enjoyable. Lots of space in the restaurant to serve large parties, usually packed evenings so consider takeout if you don't enjoy close quarters. read more

I love it here. The food is always good and the service is personable. You get your food quickly and it's delicious! My favorite thing here is the chori pollo- omg you can't go wrong with that! Their salsa has a kick to it according to some friends and family but I don't personally find it spicy. I come here for lunch some days and it's wild how quick I can eat in and get out and get back to work! The manager walks around and asks how everything is.. he isn't afraid to refill drinks or clear plates. That's something you don't see everywhere you go. I highly recommend giving them a try. It's dark and dreary inside. Uninviting. The food is good but the chips are not up to par and aren't very favorful.
