How we ended up here: Returning a package to UPS , got hungry and nosey. Husband said he read somewhere that if you're missing El Loro's just go to El Locos. Since this was new territory we did a surveying drive by first. It was pretty empty, but..you know.. we were already right there at this point. Shortly after walking in a lady came out with a pleasant smile to greet us, and said we could sit anywhere. The service was fast! The chips and white dip was some of the best I've had, and we've had alot. We ordered 2 hard beef tacos, 2 soft tacos, 1 burrito and 1 chulopa. My husband thought the Chulupa was pretty good, but the rest was not to our liking. I have to agree with some other reviews about the beef being a bit bland and watery. The food arrived and within the first bite the food tasted reheated, tasteless and the ground beef taste boiled (zero flavor) and mushy making the hard shell soggy. My fiancée had tamales which had the same issues of sogginess, zero taste and seemed reheated. When we informed a waiter of the issue very kindly he began snatching our plates not even allowing my fiancée to finish his sentence, repeatedly saying to have a good day signaling for us to leave. This was my first time at El Toro Loco. The restaurant was really clean and had a calm atmosphere. We were greeted by a nice Spanish lady. The chips came out hot and the salsa was delicious. I got the combination plate with two hard shell taco, burrito, enchilada and horchata. The horchata tasted like instant powder horchata and no cinnamon. Avoid this location. Ground beef was soggy and mushy! Had no flavor at all. I asked for all red sauce on my enchilada and burrito but my enchiladas came out with a different sauce on them. I told my server about it and he snatched my plate from me with such an attitude and asked did I want it re made? My son asked three different people for a refill of his Pepsi which no one brought. I finally had to speak up again and ask and the brought it out with our check as we were leaving. Service was very slow took about 35 minutes for our food to come and it was not busy at all. I didn't go here for food. I went here for drinks. The drink menu is super limited even though they have a full bar. My thought it that maybe they don't have a bartender. I asked for a mojito and they said they couldn't make it. Other than that I had chips and dip. There wasn't many people in the restaurant, I actually wasn't sure if they were open or not. read more

I stopped in here for a quick bite after my class. I'm not super familiar with this area so I relied on the Yelp reviews. Overall, I was disappointed. The food was pretty bland, and service was spotty. We were there close to closing and they literally started mopping the floor in front of us while we were eating and I slipped on it trying to get to the bathroom. It doesn't take more than a few minutes to wait until your customers leave - it was still within their posted hours, not like we stayed after and kept everyone. I don't know that I'll give this place another shot when there are so many good Mexican places around. read more

Salty mushy rice..the salt was just too much to eat. After a few forkfulls mixed with refried beans. My mouth started to sting and I just gave up. The enchilada was just ok, dry seasoned grown beef that would not stay ok the fork. I ended up mixing the ground beef with the refried beans. If I could give them zero stars I would. Went there this evening and there was one other table. Took forever to take drink order. So, they were mopping, and cleaning tables the whole time we were there. We were there 2.5 hours before they closed. No salt, pepper, hot sauce, silverware, napkins on the table. Was like we were in an abandoned restaurant. They were banging against the booth right next to us with a mop. Asked for a margarita on the rocks with salt, and it came with no salt and their mix is disgusting. We mentioned that there was no salt on our drinks and he brought us a salt shaker. Food was less than par. Me and my friend were wanting to have a nice date night and wanted a shot of Patron. They apparently don't have Mexican liquor. What?! Server was told to bring back change, and assumed his tip was more than it he was told it should be and brought back less change than he should have. Bottom line: avoid this place at all costs. I came by after work and wanted take out. I had to run into Food Lion so I ordered, ran to the grocery store, and then picked up my food. My dinner was ready in 10 minutes (I went around 5:15 pm). I had been at its previous location but stopped going since it was difficult to get in and out. This new location is a lot easier to get to. The food was packed nicely. It was super delicious! I ordered the arroz con pollo and it was super cheesy! My food was hot and worth the short wait. The restaurant is very safe from what I saw.
